System Copy - Copy parameters afterwards

Hi
After doing a system copy from our Production system to our QA system, I now have the PROD parameters in QA.
How do I copy and rename these to QA.
Do I need to copy the files at the OS level and rename them.  Then import them into SAP from RZ10.
Many thanks,
Marie

Go to RZ10 and delete the production profiles and save it. Then based on current instances-> generate. The QA ones will be generated automatically if they were not moved.
You copied just the databse over right? the filesystems were not touched right?
also, go to rz04-> instances/operation modes and delete prod instance, save and then generate new one again and save.
You also have to dop the ops$adm user from production at database level and create QA one.
let me know of u need anything else.
Regards
Cyrus

  • I want to put windows 7 on my iMac. Do I use Windows 7, 64 bit System Builder or do I use a "retail copy" of the Windows 7, 64 bit ? Microsoft says I should use the System Builder copy. A technical support individual from Apple said use the "retail copy"

    A Microsoft technical advisor said that the "retail copy" of Windows 7, 64 bit Home Premium would not work with Boot Camp to put the Windows operating system on the IMac. She said that I would have to use the System Builder copy of Windows 7 to put it on my iMac. An Apple technical advisor told me that I had to use the "retail copy" of Window 7 because that was the one used by Apple when they developed the Boot Camp program.  I have also seen some articles from Apple that suggests that both copies of Windows 7 would work OK. Does anyone have any experience that shows which one or both I should purchase to put on my computer?

    Welcome to ASC!
    I used the 64-bit System Builder Edition when I bootcamped my 2010 iMac a couple of years ago. Worked perfectly--installed a very lean system. Without all the extra cr@pware that comes preinstalled on name-brand Win computers, the SBE OS actually works darned well.
    However, that was under Mac OS 10.6.8 which remains on that computer for compatibilty reasons not related to Windows. Haven't BCed any newer Mac OS, so your mileage may vary.

  • I am having to install tbird again on a new system, I copied and backup-ed my previous emails. When I view my copies and/or restored email files are empty. Why?

    I am having to install tbird again on a new system, I copied and backup-ed my previous emails. When I view my copies and/or restored email files they are empty, nothing is displayed and the window shows message of being empty. I an sure of the backup and of my copy/paste steps. Where and/or what has happened to my emails? I also searched each disk and all files for email extensions (*.mozmsgs and *.sbd and *.sbf) with no results. I can not find a way to restore over 10 years worth of very important emails. Can someone please help me recover what I know is their? All my emails in Seamonkey are on another system (the one I replaced with new win7 pro 64 i7 based system) and all the emails I had in tbird, before having to reinstall everything on new system due to something that happened to the os, are the copied and backup-ed files that are showing empty. Prior to new install all old Seamonkey emails transferred to tbird and all the tbird emails prior were their and were the copied/backup-ed files showing empty now. This is turning into my worst experience and nightmare in over 25 years of systems. I am really lost on this one. please help....

    Are you saying you split your profile between C and D drive, perhaps through specifying a location in the account settings.
    BTW.
    *.mozmsgs useless duplicate files created for windows search integration. Simply wasted space on the disk.
    *.sbd a folder indicating the presence of a sub folder (contains no mail at all.
    *.sbf (I don't know that one.
    *.msf an index of mail. contains tags, but otherwise useless and will be recreated when the mail is loaded in Thunderbird so it can display the mail list.
    *. that is no file extension. You mail in files with the same name as the folders they came from.

My question is: how do I use it to do a full system recovery? When I use my pc's software to do this, I choose "Use a system image you created earlier to recover your computer. Then it asks me to insert the admin's password to pull the Recovery program from the hard drive! The next window doesn't give me the 3rd step, which is: Click "Use a system image you created earlier to recover your computer", and then follow the steps. • How do I duplicate layers & groups without automatically adding a "copy", "copy 1", "copy #" at the end of the new group?

    How do I duplicate layers & groups without automatically adding a "copy", "copy 1", "copy #" at the end of the new group?
    It's been pestering me for quite a while now, since I often work with the same elements over and over again. Its frustrating to have to change the name of each layer manually, especially if I'm copying a whole group.
    Is there a setting in Photoshop or perhaps an external script that can help fix this for me?
    Cheers,
    Qiming

    There is no way to defeat this within the program itself. Here's the workaround:
    Duplicate the file (from the Image menu).
    Drag the Group or layers from the Layers list from the duplicate to the image window of the original , while holding down Shift.
    That will make a "copyless" copy and reposition the copyed material in the exact same position it was on the original.

  • Action to "Save as JPG" always offers "foo copy copy.jpg" as file name

    When I use Photoshop CS4 "Save As", and then select jpg, it offers
    me to save my file, foo.psd as foo.jpg. No problem.
    I have prepared an action to "Save as JPG" but it always offers me
    to save as "foo copy copy.jpg". This is rather annoying as I'll have
    to get rid of "copy copy" portion every time.
    Any hints? Is it my action script? Is a "professional" version of
    such an action script available elsewhere?
    Thanks

    use save for web. you have more control and don't get annoyed by the stupid "copy copy" issue.

  • CRM 5.0 system / client copy

    Hello,
    we are running  CRM 5.0 with e-commerce webshop scenario - abap+java system.
    the systems are configured in a 3 system landscape.
    the QA and prod system have the same client number.
    the customer asked to refresh the QA with PROD system.
    what is the recommended way to do it?
    do i need to do a complete production system copy - export the Prod system using sap tools from sapinst system copy and afterwards do the import into the QA system? - in this case are there any post processing things to be done regarding the NWDI which is configured on the development system and connected to all other landscape systems?also what about post proccessing of the XCS?
    the other methood is to do a client copy (just the abap) from the prod to the qa system - will it work?
    again - both QA and prod systems have the same client number - originally the QA system was installed using an import from the production (after prod system installation i exported it and imported to the QA system using R3LOAD and jload from the sapinst system copy tools)
    Regards,
    Moshe

    what is the recommended way to do it?
    QA refresh using PRO data is the recommended one if you have huge database
    Client copy is  not recommended one for huge database....
    You can find all the pre, post copy steps in standard system copy guide

  • Javascript error in BEx after system database copy

    Hello,
    we made a database copy of our BW 3.1 system on another hardware. After having done everything described in the How-To-Guide "Enable SAP BW Web functionality", we called the BEx via URL. The login screen displays and also the Report menu, but there occur JavaScript errors on the page, that didn't occur in the copy master. E.g.
    "SAPBWSSgdo is null or not an object" or
    "SAPBWItemCatalog undefined".
    These errors prevent the choice menu for BW report value options to be displayed, which is quite annoying. Does anybody know where the error might come from? Are there any components required by BEx which weren't copied with the database copy?
    Thanks for your help in advance,
    Volker Hofmann

    Hi Beat,
    thanks you're helping me! The MIME-Repository objects like JS-Files, stylesheets and images can be read. The strange thing is:
    The J2EE engine is hosted by a provider. When they're calling the BEx web reports, they're displayed correctly. But when we call them (via proxy!), the error occurs. Even the application management doesn't know where the error comes from, after having checked if the proxy caches old data. The error is still not resolved...
    Do you have another idea?
    Regards,
    Volker

  • Users on a new system (Homogeneous copy)

    Hi people,
    I have done a system copy  (homogeneous) I do not know if the target system must be or not users who were at the source system, someone I can indicate what?
    Thank you.

    Edited by: Julius Bussche on Jul 1, 2008 1:17 PM

    Hi,
    You can also export the user master from source system from one client and again import it in the target system using TP then you should be able to log into that client with the same username,password as of source system.
    Example:
    From Sourcesystem (PRD) export user master from client 200.(login used is abc and password is xxxx)
    In the target import that user master in client 200 using Tp.
    Then log into the taget system (QTS) client 200 using username abc and passowrd xxxx .
    After this anyway yopu have to do the post activity like scc7.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • BDLS: Partner profiles not change - System Landscape Copy (SRM+HCM+ERP)

    Hello,
    Can anybody help me for system copy i.e. production to quality.
    System Landscape:
    - 1 central HCM System
    - 1 central SRM System
    - 6 Backend Systems (ERP)
    Problem: Change Log. Systemnames (SALE) and Partner Profiles (WE20) and ALE-Distribution Model (BD64).
    We run BDLS (change RFC/log.Systemnames/ change BD64), but we have problems with Partner Profiles (WE20). Which do not change !
    Anybody knows this problem?
    What can I do?
    Thanks, Silke

    Running BDLS would not normally revert the setting for the partner profiles. You could either load it again via backup transport or make new entries accordingly to the specific settings prior to the system copy.

  • BW 3.5 over ABAP+JAVA system homogeneus copy

    Hello Gurus,
    I making a BW homogeneus copy to other hardware (i want change the hardware).
    I check the WAS Abap and WAS java homogeneus copy guide, but i am really confused.
    I think follow this steps:
    1.- Install central instance ABAP (only WAS ABAP)
    2.- install DB instance ABAP
    3.- restore de BD
    4.- export JAVA ADD-in in source system
    5.- import JAVA ADD-in in target system
    6.- post processing
    I dont know if after step 2  I must install the Java ADD-in in target system ( the BW system is over ABAP+JAVA system).
    or the import java add-in install the java component?
    Regards,
    Ernesto.

    Hello Ernesto,
    There are two ways to perform the system copy
    1. Database Specific
    2. Database independent
    I beleive you are trying to do Database Independent system copy that is by creating export cd of source database and use them for system. For your environment which is WINDOWS + MSSQL on 6.40 SR1.
    Please refer to documents
    Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems based on SAP Web AS ABAP 6.40 SR1
    Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems based on SAP Web AS Java 6.40 SR1
    To answer your original question, You install the Java Add-In using the Java export on Target System. I have summarized the process flow below
    From document "Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems based on SAP Web AS Java 6.40 SR1
    check section 4.2 Database-Independent System Copy (Jload Procedure)
    Process Flow for the Source System (Java Add-in)
    On Source System: Windows
    1. You run SAPinst to perform the Java export [page 64].
    We recommend that you perform the export as a test run before you perform a productive run. Deselect the option Stop J2EE cluster before export on the screen Java System > Database Export when running SAPinst for a test run.
    2. You run SAPinst to perform the ABAP export as described in the documentation Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems based on Web AS ABAP 6.40 SR1.
    3. If required, you can run the SAPinst GUI in standalone mode to perform a remote system copy [page 86].
    On Target System: Windows
    1. You perform the ABAP import as described in the documentation Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems based on Web AS ABAP 6.40 SR1.
    3. For more information, see Running SAPinst on Windows [page 64].
    4. Java import: You install the Java Add-In using the Java export.
    You must check the documentation Installation Guide u2013 SAP NetWeaver u201904 SR1 Java on <your OS> : <your database>, Part II u2013 Installation and Post-Installation for details concerning the installation of your database that cannot be covered by this documentation.
    a. Central System: You run SAPinst to install the target system and perform the import [page 64].
    Hope this helped you let me know if you still have concerns.
    Thank you,
    Praveen

  • Unresponsive system when copying large files drive-to-drive (x86_64)

    I'm running Arch x86_64 on a quad core Xeon processor/P35 motherboard w/ 4 gigs of RAM.  I also have two SATAII, 7200 RPM HDDs.  For the most part, Arch is a VERY responsive platform.  I am noticing some really odd unresponsiveness that only happens when I copy large files from one hdd to another hdd.
    Symptoms:
    -Mouse cursor skips (doesn't move smoothly)
    -Windows such as firefox or shell don't move smoothly across the screen if I move them
    -Keyboard lag - as I type this post ) my fingers are going faster than the text is appearing
    Once the copy is finished, everything is normal again.  I swear I read someone else reporting this behavior, I just can't find it. Two questions:
    1) Is normal for the x86_64 kernel?
    2) If not, what can I tweak to remedy it?
    EDIT: Ack!  Found the post I remembered reading:

    if the file is bigger than 4gig(uncompressed) then u need swap partition, as the first thing it does is copy the file to memory and if it overflows it is bad. then your server is 1/3 options, either server/middle/desktop. if it is server, it doesn't care what framerate u get on X. then there is the timer. I'm running mine at 300 but arch's default should be 1000. the higher it is the more it "checks" what needs to be done with files, events, etc. then there is the file system type and block size factor. if ur block size is really low like me(1024k) then ur hd has to write more times(on and off) just to write out the huge file. so for huge files, format with huge block size(4096k?) so that the hd does less work.

  • System call "copy" for C++ compiler 4.2?

    System call "rename" is very close to what I am looking for but "copy" is better because I need to keep the original file. Where I can find it, or any equivalent?
    MM
    [email protected]

    I don't know of a Solaris system call to copy files. I do know there is no such C or C++ standard library function.
    It's easy enough to write a file copy routine, however.
    C++ 4.2 is obsolete and no longer supported. It predates the 1998 C++ standard by a few years.
    But using old-style C++, here is a copy-file routine:
    #include <fstream.h>
    int copyfiles(const char* i, const char* o)
    ifstream in(i, ios::in|ios::binary);
    ofstream out(o, ios::out|ios::binary);
    out << in.rdbuf();
    return !(!in && !out);
    You pass it the names of the input and output files. It opens the files in binary mode, copies input to output if possible, and reports status by returning 1 for success and 0 for failure.
    Using standard C++, the routine looks like this:
    #include <fstream>
    bool copyfiles(const char* i, const char* o)
    std::ifstream in(i, std::ios::binary);
    std::ofstream out(o, std::ios::binary);
    out << in.rdbuf();
    return !(!in && !out);

    Hello
    I have this code. I want close this stream, because I have this Error in another place of my program.

    string destFile = Application.StartupPath + @"\UserImages\" + name;

    I used the following code. Now I do not have any problem:
    string pathSource = richTextBox_I.Text;
    string pathNew = Application.StartupPath + @"\UserImages\" + name;
    try
    using (FileStream fsSource = new FileStream(pathSource,
