  • Trasformation SAP BW 7.0 system "Copy" Functionality NOT available

    Hi,
i started to work with a new SAP BW 7.0 system and i noticed that the copy functionality for the trasformation is not available.
In my previous project i worked on a system SAP BW 7.0 that had this functionality, i mean with right click of the mouse on a trasformation i had: display, change, copy, delete.
Now in the new system i have only display, change and delete.
I compard the patch levels of the two systems:
in the new system we have a SAP_BW patch level 15,
in the previous one i have a SAP_BW level 16.
Could be this one the reason?
    Any idea?
    Thx

    Hi,
    Should be yes..
Even we also have BI 7 with SP 7 and SP 18.
In SP 7 I dont have copy option. But in SP 18 this is there...

  • MSSQL Homogeneous System Copy : SAPINST cannot connect to default database

    Hello.
We want to perform a homogeneous system copy, following Note 151603.
We have attached the source DB (RP1) to the destination DB (RD4) following the above mentioned Note.
Now, logged to the server as DOMAIN\rd4adm , we want to execute the SAPINST, as indicated in the Note 683447, but when giving the password for user rd4adm we get a pop up
Cannot connect to R3SVIL\RD4 [SQL Server]Cannot open user default database. Login failed.
R3SVIL is the server. Login is done with windows authentication (connected as domain\rd4adm)
We cannot find a Note descibing this issue and how to fix it, must be something with user : does anybody have suggestion or solution?
    Thanks a lot,
        Dino

    Hi,
did you apply SAP note 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy

  • BDLS Conversion after System Copy fails

    Hi All,
We are doing a Homogeneous System Copy on a AIX 5.3/Oracle 10.2.0.4/ SAP ERP 6.0 environment.
After the system copy we had to run BDLS to convert logical system names in tables. Except for 3 tables namely EDPP1, TBD05 and TBD06 the BDLS run was successful.
We tried to convert the logical system names in these tables by running BDLS for these tables individually however they failed again.
The error was - "Error in field of table. Manual correction required"
I checked SAP Note 121163 and it is mentioned in this note -
"If the new logical system name already exists in the system, it can cause errors for tables in which the logical system is key field or
unique index (for example, COFIO1). In this case the number of converted entries is smaller than the number of selected entries."
And in this case a manual post-processing is required. How do I go about doing this manual post-processing?
    1. Should I maintain these directly at the table level - which is cumbersome as there are a lot of entries?
    2. Or using a small ABAP program?
Please let me know if any other information is required frommy side.
    Thanks, Dibya

    Hi,
Yes ofcourse, you need to check all settinfs, once you copy teh system you are going loose all RFC's and Source and Destinations ectc, so adject all that settings.

  • BI System Copy of disconnected systems

I am SAP BI person and need some suggestion regarding the BASIS expertise.
If I have two BI systems (Say BI-1 & BI-2). I do not have any transport path maintained nor any connection between these two servers.
If I develop some objects in BI-1 system, can I copy to BI-2 system using some mechanism or custom software. I can also go with the system copy.
    Here I have two questions:
    1. If both the systems are running on different OS platform
    2. If both the systems are running on same OS Platform
What would be the possibility in above mentioned cases? Can I copy the system or objects?

  • After System copy all objects become modified state in Dev and Quality .

    Hello All.
we have 5 source systems, recently we did system copy for 4 source systems but only one system alone not participated.
so now all objects in  SS become modified state in development and quality.
earlier in Sys copy i faced the same problem in quality i will do the transport form dev to quality. but now in development itself its in modified state how can activate it?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Looks like system copy is not performed correctly.
    But there are options like
    go to source system
myself BW system right click actiuvate and replicate option
similarly for SAP R/3 source system.Right click and activate
then there are other transactions in case there are specific objects to be activated

  • Java Add-in System Copy - same Java Support Package levels ?

    Hi,
I'm looking at performing a standard SAP Netweaver 04 SAP Web Application Server system "refresh" procedure. I plan to copy the production system ( SAP WAS 640 ABAP+Java addin )to an already installed QA system that was installed originally exactly the same as Prod. Both have the same components installed and the ABAP stack Support package levels are identical. What I've found is that the Java Add-in Support package levels vary. Is it possible to perform the system copy "refresh" if the Java components differ. ( Prod J2EE is 640 SP13, QA is SP14 and Adobe & ESS/MSS components differ ).
I've looked through the system copy guides and the NW04 SR1 system copy OSS note 785848, but can't find anything about this situation.
Hopefully someone else out there can tell me if it's possible, without first patching Production to the same levels as the QA system being overwritten.
    Regards,
    Brian.

    Hello,
u can do that w/o applying the patch ..but after doing system copy u have latest SP13 as of u r PRD server instead of SP14 in QA....if required then u can apply it again in QA....SP14.
So if u not got my point then tell me...
    thanks..

  • Question concerning homogenous system copy abap+java

    Hi,
I have the following question: we are running a SAP ERP2005 und Linux/Oracle.
We need a restore of the productive system form an early date, due to problem analysis. Because this system copy was not planed we didn't do the java SDM dump (as described in the manual). We do have a backup of database and the library files. Is it possible to use this files for the system copy and do some postactivities to get a consistent abap+java system?
    Regards
    Ulrike Tubbesing

    Hi,
You need to have the SDM folder backup and if to be more specific you need abckup of the sdmrepository.sdc file so the J2EE engine can function properly.
    Regards.

  • EP 70 backup and system copy

    Dears
I would like to clarify some issues about EP :
    1) how to backup an EP 70 installation
It's enough to backupo the database or there is something on the filesystem to save ?
    2) how to perform a DB copy with EP 70.
It's possible to use the Backup/Restore or it's mandatory to use the export/import method ?

  • Setting a new UME datasource during system copy

    Hi experts,
As a part of an sap solution we are currently working onu2026.the following two systems have been installed: SAP NTW AS ABAP 7.01 and SAP NTW AS JAVA 7.01
In a first moment the ABAP DB was set as the UME data sourceu2026.however according to new requirements, LDAP  should be set as data source. Iu2019m aware this is not possible. Apparently the only way to accomplish this is a complete reinstallation.
My question isu2026..Itu2019s possible to perform a system copy instead of re install the system? Does sapinst provide the chance to define a new UME data source during the system copy?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Unfortunately, the SAPInst in system copy would not give an option to change the UME.

  • Dialog Instances Java are not up after System Copy NW2004s SR2 ABAP+JAVA

    Hello guys,
I have just  performed a system copy of our BW system (douple stack NW2004s) wich consists from CI and 2 DIs. First I  made an export using SAPINST (Software from SAP_BUSINESS_SUITE_2005_SR2 for sparc solaris), where I choosed in SAP Installation Master->SAp Netweaver 2004s Support Release 2->Additional Software Life-cycle Tasks->System Copy->Oracle->Source System->Central System->Based on ABAP and Java->Database and Central Instance Export. I couldn't find any special task for export java from my dialog instances, so I thought it would be ok like that. Then I used the same software on my target system, choosed ...Additional Software Life-cycle Tasks->System Copy->Oracle->Target System->Central System->Based on ABAP and Java->Central System Installation. In the Dialog input phase of SAPINST I indicated that use db specific tools to copy your database. So I made the database restore+recovery with our DB tools and continued withthe SAPINST and Import.
Afterwards the ABAP part and Java on the central Instance run perfect, but Java Stack is not up by both of Dialog Instances. I have checked the configtool on the server where the CI is running (the DIs are running on different linux servers) and couldn't see any entries for my dialog instances, only the CI was seable there. I tried to start configtool from the application server, but there I could find only the file config.properties in the directory /usr/sap/<SID>/.../j2ee/configtool/, others were simply not there, so it was impossible to start it. Have i forgotten something by EXPORT/IMPORT or I should just use other software for coping a System with douple stack on a CI and DIs? Or should I get configtools for Linux platform ( have searched but not found yet) and try to make the same changes wich i have done by the CI before i started Java on the CI? The most irritated point is that i can't see the dialog instanes in Configtool from the CI.
Any other suggestions and good advices?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • J2ee engine does not start up after system copy

    Dear All,
I have done a system copy of BW3.5 (NW04). I installed the BW.3.5 and then replaced the data and control files.
    This has ABAP + java.
Now after system copy when i am starting the server, the J2ee instance doesnt start up.
ABAP is running and DB is up too.
I am getting the following error in log_bootstrap file:-

  • System does not come up after homogeneous system copy

    Hi there,
after a regular system copy of our Java-only Portal the system does not come up.
'startsap' warns with these messages :
Warning : /usr/sap/SPE/JC51/j2ee/cluster/bootstrap/../server0/bin/ext/jdbdictionary/jddi.jar file stated but does not exist !
Warning : /usr/sap/SPE/JC51/j2ee/cluster/bootstrap/../server0/bin/ext/antlr/antlr.jar file stated but does not exist !
Warning : /usr/sap/SPE/JC51/j2ee/cluster/bootstrap/../server0/bin/system/frame.jar file stated but does not exist !
and, yes , these really important directories do not exist - under /usr/sap/<SID>/JCxy/j2ee/cluster/server0 there is
only ONE directory , which is 'apps' .
database starts, but not the j2ee engine
    OS :Solaris 10, Oracle DB
I'm confused (i did the system copy 2 times, because I did not believe what I saw ....)

    Ronny

    Hi Sunny,
    thanx for your answer.
There are NO logs, either dev_server* nor dispatcher.
the only thing I found were under the work-directory, the dev_jcmon says :
    [Thr  1] Wed Oct 27 11:01:40 2010
    *[Thr  1] *** ERROR => Can't attach to administration shared memory (rc = 3) [jcmonxx_mt.c 228]*
and the bootstrap says mainly that it could not find the framework :
[Thr  1] JLaunchRequestQueueInit: create named pipe for ipc
[Thr  1] JLaunchRequestQueueInit: create pipe listener thread
[Thr  2] JLaunchRequestFunc: Thread 2 started as listener thread for np messages.

[Thr  1] NiInit3: NI already initialized; param 'maxHandles' ignored (1;202)
    [Thr  1] CPIC (version=701.2009.01.26)

            Java Home: /usr/java
[Thr  1] JStartupICheckFrameworkPackage: can't find framework package /usr/sap/SPE/JC51/exe/jvmx.jar
That make 'sense', because there is nothing  it could find ..
