Did you execute the report SMIGR_CREATE_DDL on the source system and copied the resulting SQL files to the database dump directory?

  • System copy:Import, error "Assertion failed: Unable to load database"

    Good afternoon.
Imports the system. Step to create a database I receive an error (see screenshot). Version 6.0 EHP FOR SAP 6.0. Version SWMP 70SWPM10SP03_9-20009707. But there is a caveat. Current version Sybase 15.7.0.103, and dannyts SWMP version supports only up to 041 Sybase version. When installing I use dump database derived from the 103 Sybase version. I believe the difference in the versions of this error occurs. What can you do in this situation?

After run Sybase service a have a message in sapinst_dev.log

  • DB Error during System Copy Import

    Hello,
We are currently doing a heterogeneous system copy of an internal Solution Manager
7.01 (running on Linux SLES10 SP2 64Bit) to a new machine (running on
Linux SLES11 SP1 64Bit). The database we are using on both side is MaxDB.
During the export phase, nothing went wrong. The pre and post requisites were implemented.
But during the import phase with sapinst and more especially during the 'import ABAP' step we are facing the following errors.
    __SAPDFACT.log :__

Before the export we executed the report for the DDL migration, created
the right *.sql files. We copied those sql files in the right folder
according to note 771209 and the System Copy guide.
We also tried to implement note 942540 - System copy fails on SAPDFACT
import, but we are not able to drop the mentioned tables. We are
getting 'unknown tables' whereas we see them in DB.
We would like to avoid restarting the export and import phases from the beggining as there is approximately 80GB to transfer each time and we are not running this on a server but desktop PC.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Johann

    Hello Andreas
thank you for your answer. However, the table specified in the Note is not found when I am running the specified request in the correct schema:
    -4004: POS(16) Unknown table name:/MAXDB/INDEXSTATEMENTS SQLSTATE: 42000
SAP_BW component in Solution Manager 7.01 SPS24 is SAPKW70106. As this BW release is already more recent than the one recommended in the Note, this issue should not be link to an old BW component patch version then.
In the meantime, I have applied Notes 888210 and 942540. But I cannot drop the tables specified since the user SAPSMJ has no DROPIN privilege and I cannot grant them even when using SUPERDBA user.
So I think we need to re-run the export as we are running out of options to try continuing the import phase.
Regarding the use of last R3load release, would you know the path to download it on the marketplace and if I need the last  R3load kernel version (7.3) or only the last patch for 7.01 and knowing that I am using Netweaver 7.01 packages for the copy ? R3load used so far is 7.01/V1.4.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Johann

  • System copy --- Import issue in Import ABAP phase

HI Team, We are doing migration using system export/import method from win2008/SQL2008 to Win2012/SQL2012 . While doing export there was a problem with table  SOFFCONT1 , So we have followed the note 1922094  and changed the size of the package  from  1 GB to 2 GB  in SOFFCONT1.cmd , After this We have exported the data from the source system using SWPM tool. Now we are importing in to Target system , During the Import ABAP phase we are facing the below issue for same table SOFFCONT1 . Could you please tell us how to fix this issue . Do we need to do same activity for the table while importing also ? =============================================================== H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: START OF LOG: 20140712143736 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: sccsid @(#) $Id: //bas/721_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c#8 $ SAP H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: version R7.20/V1.6 [UNICODE] Compiled Dec 4 2013 17:25:27 patchinfo (patches.h): (0.138) Abort R3load task if TOC file has not entry for the table (note 1914260) process id 11608 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe -ctf I \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DATA\SOFFCONT1.STR C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\BS2005\ERP60SR3 \LM\COPY\MSS\SYSTEM\CENTRAL\AS-ABAP\DDLMSS.TPL SOFFCONT1.TSK MSS -l SOFFCONT1.log H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: job completed H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: END OF LOG: 20140712143736 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: START OF LOG: 20140712143736 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: sccsid @(#) $Id: //bas/721_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c#8 $ SAP H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: version R7.20/V1.6 [UNICODE] Compiled Dec 4 2013 17:25:27 patchinfo (patches.h): (0.138) Abort R3load task if TOC file has not entry for the table (note 1914260) process id 10364 H:\usr\sap\\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe -i SOFFCONT1.cmd -dbcodepage 4103 -l SOFFCONT1.log -loadprocedure fast (DB) INFO: connected to DB (GSI) INFO: dbname = "GFGH-SAP- " (GSI) INFO: vname = "MSSQL " (GSI) INFO: hostname = "GFGH-SAP- " (GSI) INFO: sysname = "Windows NT" (GSI) INFO: nodename = "GFGH-SAP-" (GSI) INFO: release = "6.3" (GSI) INFO: version = "9600 " (GSI) INFO: machine = "6x AMD64 Level 21 (Mod 2 Step 0)" (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file SQLFiles.LST (SQL) INFO: SQLFiles.LST not found (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/SQLFiles.LST (SQL) INFO: \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/SQLFiles.LST not found (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file APPL1.SQL (SQL) INFO: APPL1.SQL not found (SQL) INFO: Searching for SQL file \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/MSS/APPL1.SQL (SQL) INFO: \\192.168.114.11 \y\Migration\Ghana_Migration_Ecc\\export\ABAP\DB/MSS/APPL1.SQL not found (DB) INFO: SOFFCONT1 created (DB) INFO: SOFFCONT1~0 created Interface access functions from dynamic library dbmssslib.dll loaded. • IDES system copy ..error during IMPORT_ABAP..unable to create indexes

    Hi all,
I am doing a IDES system copy. I ran the report SMIGR_CREATE_DLL , the export activities have been completed successfully as well on the source system. Now on the target system, during the import, I am getting the following error in the log file SAPDFACT.log.
    (DB) ERROR: DDL statement failed

      error message returned by DbSl:

The owner for this table is SAPSR3. Some oracle forums suggested to drop the index before recreating it. But when i do "drop index SAPSR3."/BI0/E0RSTT_C06~P..it says.."the specified index does not exist". But when I go to recreate this index, it doesn get created successfully. After that when I re-run the import, it again fails. Suprisingly..now if i go to check if this index is present thru a sql querry:
select owner, object_name, object_type from dba_objects where object_name='SAPSR3."/BI0/E0RSTT_C06~P"', it tells "no rows selected". This is happening everytime, I create an index, where it gets created successfully, and the import again fails with the same error in SAPDFACT.log.
I found an SAP note 885441 named..common errors during migration..although mine isnt a migration..my both source and destination are Red hat 64 bit platform.
The note 1st asks to download the latest R3load..which I did and extracted in the kernel directory of the source..then it also asked to edit the .TSK file..in my case..SAPDFACT.TSK..where the lines:
    I /BIC/E<Cubename>~<index> C err
    to  I /BIC/E<Cubename>~<index> C ign..
I did that..this time..the import again fails..but in the SAPDFACT.log..it complains about some other index..n the same gets generated in the .TSK file as well..the earlier index error is not again generated.
I am not sure..what is going wrong..my export went through successfully.i have done the prep steps for export as well..before that i ran the SMIGR_CREATE_DLL report as well..
    Any inputs are highly appreciated..
    Thanks,
    Akshay

The above error are also present in the other Process log files.
But when i saw the installation logs of the Source system the same errors are also there(but it was still Sucessfull Standard installation).
there is one difference as well I am SQL SP3 (8.00.780) but existing Production server is SQL SP3(8.00.929).
My installation is stoppoing here with error While executing Script.
I've done Homogenous copy on WiN-ORACLE many times but on WIN-SQL i am doing very first time.
While installation database phase it asked me for EXPORT CD twice first time for standard(which usually we got with SAP Software) and Second time for Migration EXPORT. that is different from ECC5.0 i think.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Vinay

  • Homgeneouos system copy - Import/Export

    Hello everybody,
I have successfully upgrade system( ECC 5.0) m from windows 2003 (32)+ SQL 2000 to windows 2003 (64-bit) + SQL 2005. using attach /detach method, in post processing execute STM tool, update stats etc.
But we found performance is not much of improve previous system with only 4 GB RAM, new one with 32 GB RAM.
I have remove the parameter PHYS_MEMSIZE parameter from the profile so it is under ZERO MEMORY MGT.
This above said in testing environment till.
For testing, I planning for the same using export/import
    Plan :
    Source system
    1. Now, Export the database by executing sapinst.exe and then
select ABAP system-->MS SQL server -->Unicode -->ABAP Database content export
and continue with the Export procedure.
    On the Target system
    1. Create a directory EXPORT and copied all the exported data.
    2. Start the SAP installation(only start database instance installation), enter the required parameters up to the
window selecting the database instance installation method, on this
I will choose System copy/migration(R3load based)
    3. provide the path of the Export directory.
    4. Specify the order in which the package are loaded - I select alphabetical order
    5. No other option will select on this screen.
So for testing, I simply database export from source system and on target system I execute only Database instance installation, all process successfully done.
We have not any BW client so I am generate the DDL statement
Pleas suggest above plan is correct or anything missing?
    will improve performance of system?
    Thanks
    Ganesh

    HI!
As per suggested for DDL statement generation, we have no any productive BW client,
i tried on our Qaulity system by logging on regular using client, message display DDL statement
generated successfully,. but when I check in usr\sap\tmp folder there no file
    1. Unicode migration option selection is necessary?
in installation directory path is only /tmp so I checked in ( usr\sap\tmp) directory.
    2.
Above procedure is correct, but during target system installation please continue with SAPinst to install SAP instance as well.
As above statement, I started installation on Target system by SAPinst then from option
      mySAP EPR 2004 SR1
         System copy
              Target system
                 ABAP system
                    MS SQL Server
                        Unicode
                              Central instance installation
                              Database instance installation
                              MSCS Node A Configuration
                              MSCS Node B Configuration
                              Dialog instance installation
                              internet graphic server upgrad
I select  Database instance installation Database instance installation option. No any other process I have done.
    3. is same procedure for  system copy in clustering environment ( because our Production system in windows 2003 (64 -bit) clustering environment.
    4. After installation complet, in post processing  need to use STM tool, update static etc.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Ganesh

  • Export for system copy fails - Error 9 (Bad file number)

    Hello all,
I am attempting to perform the export phase for a hetergenous system copy on our BI system (BI 7.0 - NW2004s).  This system runs on HP-UX 11.11 using Oracle  10.2.0.2 and will be migrated to Windows Server 2003 and MS SQL Server 2005, once the export is complete.
While running sapinst to export the data from the source system, there are several input dialog screens that are skipped, which means I am not able to enter all the paramters used for the export.  After seeing this behavior from sapinst, I reviewed the sapinst.log and sapinst_dev.log files and find the warning/error "System call failed. Error 9 (Bad file number)".  I have included a portion of these files below.
I have reviewed notes 546006 and 583861, but these seem to refer to an Oracle error ORA-27121, but I am not receiving any Oracle errors in sapinst.log or the Oracle alert log.  I have looked for possible permission or ownership problems with any of the SAP or Oracle files, but have not found any that were incorrect.  Also, these errors do not specify which file sapinst is having problems with, so I do not have  a specific file or area to check.
If anyone has seen something similar to this and has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate any help.

    Hello Peter,
Thanks for the reply. I did confirm the points you made, and have the details below.
    1. check filesystem, if you have enough space, especially /tmp
All filesystems have available space, and /tmp has 310 MB available, before the start of sapinst.
    2. check again alert log, trace log for Oracle,
I could not find any errors in the alert_SID.log or any unusual trace files.
    3. How did you run sapinst? Are you using "root" account.
I am running sapinst as user root and I am following all the recomendations in the system copy guide (at least as far as I can tell.  ;p )
We have four BI systems in this landscape, and the other three have migrated successfully.  The procedure I am using, is the same as for the other 3 systems and uses the same SAP media directory that was used on the other systems.
One other item that may be part of my problem here, is that this system is the production system, and was originally installed as a high-availability system, using HP-UX Service Guard for clustering.  Currently, this system does not have fail-over enabled, but of course the cluster is still intact.  One required piece of the Service Guard enviornment is the use of a virtual hostname.  This seems to resolve successfully by sapinst, as I see the correct (virtual) hostname referenced several times.  While this is a clustered system (for fail-over purposes), the CI and DB are installed on the same host.  So it is not a distributed system, and if failover had been initiated, it would fail both the CI and DB instance, which is the same and only SAP instance.
This did raise one question in my mind, however.  I am attempting to extract this using the following menu path within sapinst.
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3  --> Software Life-Cycle Options --> System Copy --> Oracle --> Source System Export --> Central System --> Based on AS ABAP and AS Java
Since this does use Service Guard, but is not a distributed system, should I be using a different path in the sapinst tree, for the export?  I have only performed a migration using the above path, so I am not familar with the detailf of the other types, such as High-Availabitly or Distributed-System.

  • Heterogeneous system copy. Error in SMIGR_CREATE_DDL

    Hello!
    I perform a heterogeneous system copy of RHEL5/Oracle11/ERP6/0 > RHEL6/MaxDB/ERP6.0
I use the "System Copy Guide for SAP Systems Based on NW 7.0 SR3 ABAP + Java". At the stage "4.2 Generating DDL" statements is a problem. I'm doing "Call transaction SE38 and run the program SMIGR_CREATE_DDL."
    But i get error:
    Runtime Errors         DATASET_NOT_OPEN
    Exception              CX_SY_FILE_OPEN_MODE
    Date and Time          20.09.2011 12:16:01
    Short text
         File "/EXPORT_DDL/SQLFiles.LST" is not open.
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_SMIGR_DDL==================CP" had to be
          terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
         administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_FILE_OPEN_MODE', was not
         caught in
procedure "WRITE_DDL_TO_FILE" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
         clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
When accessing the file "/EXPORT_DDL/SQLFiles.LST", the system recognized that
         this file is
not open. Therefore, the file cannot be accessed.
    How to correct the error
Before the first access, the file must be opened using the ABAP language
element "OPEN DATASET '/EXPORT_DDL/SQLFiles.LST'" and after the last access,
         it must be
closed using the language element "CLOSE DATASET '/EXPORT_DDL/SQLFiles.LST'".
If the error occurred in your own ABAP program or in an SAP
program you modified, try to remove the error.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "DATASET_NOT_OPEN" "CX_SY_FILE_OPEN_MODE"
       "CL_SMIGR_DDL==================CP" or "CL_SMIGR_DDL==================CM003"
       "WRITE_DDL_TO_FILE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
       1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
       (Unconverted)".
    I forgot something to do?

    >      File "/EXPORT_DDL/SQLFiles.LST" is not open.
Make sure the user <sid>adm is permitted to write to that directory.

  • System copy export  -  error message unable to extend temp segment PSAPTEMP

I am performing an export of ECC ABAP+java instance and during the export of the source system I get the following error during the ABAP export:
ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace PSAPTEMP
    ORA-27072: File I/O error
What do I need to do with this error? I have extended the tablespace via brtools but still getting the error.
Is this because I did not select the shutdown instance during the export? or do I need to do something more via brtools to the PSAPTEMP tablesapce?
I am running on Oracle 10.2.0.2. unix
    Thanks
    Mikie

    Hello Mike,
    >> My PSAPTEMP is 8GB.
I would bet the table you try to export is bigger (if you export sorted.. you will need temp space)
    >> You have said you increased it to 800GB, that is almost a terabyte. Is this correct?
    >> If so, how did you arrive at this figure.
As i already said .. this was the temp space that i needed in a sorted exported with many parallel exports (splitted packages and splitted tables). The system that i have migrated was round about 3 TB and we need to do it very fast.. so i needed the temporary space for the many parallel actions... but this should not be the "normal" case if you have no specific values.
    >> And if you could define how you extended PSAPTEMP. Did you use brtools?
I have extended it manually (over sqlplus) .. i have monitored it in my test cases with the view V$TEMPSEG_USAGE and increased it if necessary.
    >> did you recreate PSAPTEMP via SQLPLUS size 800GB and then dropped it and recreated to normal size?
No, in my case i have exported and imported it at the same time (distribution monitor) so there was no need to drop it after the export, because i have build up a new target database. But under normal conditions you would only drop the tempfiles after your work has been done. This is possible with Oracle 10g (with some restrictions).

Restrictions on Dropping Files To drop a datafile or tempfile, the datafile or tempfile:
    - Must be empty.
    - Cannot be the first file that was created in the tablespace. In such cases, drop the tablespace instead.
    - Cannot be in a read-only tablespace.
