System copy something missing

Hallo experts,
we have done our first system copy in SAP BW 3.5 (Productive => Testsystem).
After the system copy we have the problem that for the myself DataSource some
transferstructures are missing. There is no mapping between DataSource and infosource and  source system. I think therefore there exist no transferstructure and so we have also problems with deleting data from ODS and so on....
Can someone help us. I just repaired it for one infosource with opening the system and make the mapping manual in the testsystem and activate it - but i think this can not be the right way.
Thank you Santra

Hallo Santra,
you have to execute transaction "BDLS" on your copied system.
The first run should be a testrun only by setting flag "Testrun".
The transaction changes the systemname from "old" to "new" in
table T000 and in all other tables which contains the fieldname "LOGSYS".
This should particularly resolve data mart problems (mySelf system)
you described above.
Furthermore you should check names, rfc connections, etc. of source
systems. Maybe these systems are not used in test environment too
and have to be modified.
Best regards
Andreas

  • Installation Master DVD Distributed Java System Copy menu missing

    Hello Gurus
We want to perfom an Java system copy of our EP 6.0 using sapinst
The source OS is Solaris 8.0 with Oracle 10.2.0.2
The target OS is Solaris 10.0 with Oracle 10.2.0.2
Our architecture is Distributed , CI is running on a system and DB server on another system.
For this operation we use the master DVD 51033746_12 but we have an issue in exporting the DB as the
Option for exporting the DB on a Distributed system is not displayed on the sapinst Menu .
We followed the last guide taken from sap 'Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy for SAP Systems Based on SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 SR 1' and this option should be listed
    Excerpt:
Choose the installation service SAP NetWeaver u201904 Support Release 1--> Java System --><DB> --> Distributed System --> Migration - Database Export.
Unfortunately the Distributed system is not displayed and though we are stuck at the export step .
I could not find any sapinst patches . Is it a known issue for Soalris system and is there a Workaround .
    Thanks for your help
    De Palma Lionel .

    Hello
Thanks for your answer . Unfortunately this option is not available as we are using a NW04 SR1 system , not a nw'2004's one . With the latest master install (Installation_Master_6.20_6.40_05_08 51033746_5 )we have the choice of
System copy  Source --> Java system --> oracle --> Migration Data  export
-->  HA Java system --> oracle --> Migration Data  export
System copy  Target --> Java system --> oracle --> Central system-> Migration Data  export
Target --> Java system --> oracle --> Distributed system -> Migration Target Central instance / Db instance install
The Distributed system is available for Import option but no for the export one .
    My questions are :
    - Can we use a master nw2004's master DVD for system copy on a Nw'04s one ?
    - As the central instance is hosted on different system than DB instance , should I use the HA option ?

  • SMD + Java Services Missing on the System Copy Installation of SolMan

    Hello,
I Installed Solution Manager with system copy option.
Backup a database from source and restore it on the target
I did the Export system image from the source and loaded it on the target system in one of the steps of SAPinst on the target system.
When the process finished I found out that the SMD doesnt show up on the SAP Management Console and can't see any JAVA service running.
It's Missing something ? I'll appreciate yours help.
    Regards,
    Sergio Maziano

    Hi Sergio,
    What release of SolMan?
Please check note 1317500 (J2EE Engine does not start after target system installation)
SMD is another SAP System  (Solution Manager Diagnostics) which is installed with SAPINST since new versions

  • Missing indexes after system copy

    Hi All
we have around 70,000 missing indexes after the system copy
    offline export from
    source with sun solaris oracle
    To
    Linux oracle
but these appeared after we Run  SGEN , which took 60 hours for a 200 Gb database.
and target system response is also slow , how to go ahead with this issue
we have checked export and import logs , none of the packages were missed
1 Why these missing indexes after SGEN , and why SGEN for 60 hours
2  when we check the Tables which appeared in Missing indexes ,from SE14  it says In Consistency with Data dictionary
3  and the other error , is  Index Missing in the database ,
4  but we cant create all these manually.
    Regards

    Hi Matt
    Thanks for the response
After sap suggestion  , we have done only import again, with 721 R3load same as export.
but still the R3load.exe.log of import shows as done with 720 kernel.
    import R3load.exe log       //bas/720_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c#
    export R3load.exe log     //bas/721_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c#10 $ SAP
But when we compare  the sapinst_dev and AGR logs both from export and import
both are referring the same 721 R3load version ,
    //bas/721_REL/src/R3ld/R3load/R3ldmain.c
still we have same missing indexes issue , after we did the import again.
Are we making any mistakes in export  , Any suggestions are welcome
hi all , kindly respond with your inputs , on this

  • PI System Copy (JCO RFC destinations missing)

    Hi,
We are doing a Homogeneous System Copy of a PI 7.0 system:
    - Source system --> PI 7.0 Production system ("PIP")
    - Destination system --> PI 7.0 Development system ("PID")
We are executing the specific POST activities for a PI system (point 5.2.3.2.4 in the "System Copy for NW2004s SR2 Abap+Java" guide). In point 5.2.3.2.4.2, PI RFC destinations must be adapted in both Abap (SM59) and Java (Visual Administrator, JCO RFC Provider). The problem is that in all PI abap RFC destinations (AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER etc) the program_id is pointing to our PI
Production system ("AI_RUNTIME_PIP"), is it OK?
Besides, in Visual Administrator (JCO RFC Provider service), all the required RFC listeners for PI ("AI_DIRECTORY_PIP", "AI_RUNTIME_PIP", etc.) are missing after the system copy (???). Must these RFC listeners be manually created? How can we do it? Must we create them with the development SID ("AI_RUNTIME_PID") or with the production SID ("AI_RUNTIME_PIP")? Perhaps PI configuration wizard must be executed after the system copy of a PI system so that these JCO RFC destinations are created, but we are afraid executing the wizard could harm the PI configuration...
    Thanks in advance.
    Jon Larrucea

    Hi Jon
Probably the best thing to do is just create these destinations manually. You will need to do this in SM59 and the Visual Administrator. See the link below:

  • Emulated DS's  appearing , info packs miss after system copy in 7.0 system

    Hi All
We did a system copy of our BI dev system into a new installed BI 7.0
system. As part of the post refresh steps we ran the BDLS run.We noticed
that all the info packages were missing and the emulated data sources
appeared instead of 7.0 data sources..We tried to migrate one of the
emulated DS's and then all the info packages associated with that data
source were seen......Also the DTPS were inactivated bcoz of this and
we had to activate this manually.....But we have around 200 data
sources ...Could you please suggest a program/report/solution to
recover all the info packages and 7.0 data sources instead of migrating
each of them individually which is daunting task.......

    Hi,
It might be helpful for you to check the SAP note 1072206 and change administration connection accordingly.

  • Migration export dvd missing in system copy process

    Hi
    1. We are doing system copy of XI 3.00 server that is based on SAP
       Web AS 6.40.
    2. I'm following the "Homogeneous and Hetrogeneous system copy for SAP
System based on SAp Web AS ABAp 6.40 patch collection" document.
       Document version is 1.1 - July 11,2007.
    3. I'm using R3load tool for system copy (page 40 to 49). I exported
the database (XDV) as per guide and now trying to re-import in XQA.
    4. Central instance in XQa has been installed successfully and not i'm
stuck while installing the database instance. Process is looking for
"Migration export" dvd that i don't have.
Anyone get the same error? If someone suggest me the dvd number, i'll downlaod it from sapnet.
    Regards
    Amar

    Hi Elena
Thanks for all your help. Refresh process of XQA from XDV is almost completed. XQA is up and java is working. Visual admin/ configtool are working good.
I'm getting one problem. When i run tcode 'sxmb_ifr', it open the XDV link (http://dbcixdv:57000/rep/start/index.jsp) instead of XQA (http://rx2n1v1:57400/rep/start/index.jsp).
Also Integration repository, integration builder, SLD are all pointing to XDV server (dbcixdv).
I changed all setting (ID,IR, SLD, RWB) in 'http://rx2n1v1:57400:exchangeProfile' and it fixed  our problem but it also chnaged the XDV setting. Now XDV link is pointing to XQA server.
Here XDV and XQA are in two different hardware server.
Let me update pls how to fix this problem.

And this is the strange point: my source system is not a BI and my dataclasses .SQL files are not empty.
Me too i would expect that the files should be empty but instead they are full of object definitions.
For example i have APPL0.SQL that contains a list of all tables of ECC system, for example
    tab: MAMT
    sql:     CREATE TABLE "MAMT"
            ("MANDT" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000003)
            DEFAULT '000' NOT NULL,
            "MATNR" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000018)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "SPRAS" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000001)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "MEINH" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000003)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "MTXID" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000002)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "LFDNR" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000002)
            DEFAULT '00' NOT NULL,
            "MAKTM" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000040)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL)
            IN "&location&"
            INDEX IN "&locationI&"
            LONG  IN "&locationL&"
          COMPRESS YES;
          ALTER TABLE "MAMT" LOCKSIZE ROW;
and like this for all others tables.
What would occur if i launch an import with such .SQL files?
(shuld i put this question to another thread or is fine for you to answer on this?)
    Thank you again.

  • System Copy results in Framework Error

    Hi all,
I've just done a System Copy for NW2004s system.  I've been able to access the Portal fine from the Administrator account but I'm getting a "Error occurred while trying to access framework page" from any other account.
I'm using a custom Portal Desktop but the same error occurs if I use the default Portal desktop or my own desktop.  Seems like all other users lost permission to desktop and/or framework and/or something else.  I've assigned the Everyone group my Portal Desktop but still nothing.  I'm thinking I missed something in the System Copy
UPDATE: I created a new user and that user can log onto the Portal fine.  It appears any user logging on from the LDAP db are encountering errors.
    Thanks

    Dagfinn, thanks for responding.
I believe the authentication is OK but after logging in, I get this message...
Error occurred while trying to access framework page: ".../frameworkPages/com.sap.portal.frameworkpage",The object does not exist or you are not authorized to access it.If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.
I'm looking through the stack trace now but I'm not finding errors specific to this message.

  • Cannot change PO's in SRM due to system copy/ logical system error

    Hi All-
We are running SRM extended classic scenario.  We would like to change PO's that have been created in our production system, but copied to another environment.  We are trying to change these PO's in the copied system but are getting error messages in the process purchase orders transaction in SRM, and are not allowed to change the PO's.  The message reads "purchase order contains items with different logical systems".  Our basis team changes the logical systems as part of our system copies.  Has anyone experienced this?  I this part of standard SAP functionality?  Are their logical systems in any of the transactional data(PO) tables that we need to change?
Also, we are deleting the material group/product hierarchy in comm_hierarchy as part of our system copy tasks because the material groups each have a GUI ID that is system dependent.  Could this have something to do with our issue?  Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hey John,
Yes I'm still at CA.  How are you?
I checked bbp_pd and the logical systems are changed correctly to the copied system, not set to production.  Am I missing something here? Should they be set to production logical system names even though I am trying to change the PO in the copied system?
    Thanks!

  • Transformation inactive after system copy in SCM system

    Hi Team,
I am posting this in BW keeping in mind that i am receiving issues in RSA1 transaction in my SCM system after the recent system copy. We did the system copy of SCM system and DTP conversion was also done using program RSBKDTP_BDLS. No errors occurred while the program ran. Now we have handed the system back to users for checking and they have reported an error saying there were some transformations missing in the system while checking the DTP . I went to RSA1 transaction in my SCM system and searched for the DTP and status seems to be in inactive status. I then clicked on change button and an error message mentioning the below appears.
Transformation XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX inactive; action cannot be executed
    Message no. RSBK260
    Diagnosis
A transformation (XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) used by the DTP is inactive.
    System Response
The action (request processing or DTP maintenance) was terminated.
    Procedure
Activate the transformation. It connects the source XXXXXXXX   XXXCLNT100 to the target XXXXXXXX.
I checked for the transformation entry in the table RSTRAN and did not find the same. Also i ran the program RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE to activate the transformation but nothing happens.
Have anyone came across this type of issue. I need some advise on the same and guide me in case if i am missing something, since i have not worked on this type of issue before.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Rajesh

    Hi,
Due to the system copy we always get this issues.
Just ask your basis team to check source system assignments. they can do it.its their activity.
at BW Server, RSA1 -->menu tools--> manage source system, check the source system. same need to have at below we20.
at Tx - WE20, Partner type Ls---> under this you may see your target(SCM) and source system anmes. select source name and rigth side panel partner status need be active A.
At quality syste, activations thru program may not be happen. better to re-transport the dtp from dev system.
    Thanks

  • Homogeneous System Copy on VMWare

We are executing a Homegeneous System Copy of (based on the+ Homogeneous and Heterogeneous system Copy for SAP Systems Based on SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 Patch Collection+ Installation Guide) on windows 2003 server, following the Oracle 9.1 patch 4 especific procedure.
Tha SAPints export in the source system and import in the target system  finisihes successfully. But the J2EE instance doesn´t work,  apparently there is no dispatcher.
At first, we thought that we miss a step on the system copy installation, but after 5 unsuccessfully  installations we are looking around ...and this question arises;  we are working in a virtualized environment with VMWare ¿does it affects?  ¿does it has something to do?
help woul be great and awarded

    Hi,
I did not have success with backup and restore, so I used java dump.
Maybe you got a wrong password somewhere, but I doubt because you install is sucessful.
Important steps I had to do :
Update jdbc drivers for oracle. Changed database settings for autostart with os.
Copied FSDB folders, shared them. Modified autorisations on oracle and fsdb folders.
Verify ume connection (active directory) : No ume, j2ee crash.

    Hello Kiran,
I did a few tests again yesterday, and it was really a stupid mistake from myside.
The error message did mean, that there wasn't enough space.
It isn't the authority issue, it was a leak of space.
FYI, the complete DB-Size of Source System is required - NOT JUST RESERVED SPACE!!!
Thx for help and sorry for stealing your time :O

  • Activating data in DSO got dump SAPSQL_EMPTY_TABNAME after BW system copy

    Hi all,
We had an issue after system copy.
After a system copy the data in the standard DSOs(all of them) cannot be activated. The DOSs themselves are active, the transformations are active but if one attempts to load data and activate u2013 it does not work. The job terminates with shortdump SAPSQL_EMPTY_TABNAME.
Found the issue is caused by u201Cmore than one versionu201D of the change log.
We tried the Program RSAR_RSTSODS_CHANGELOG_VRS but it didn't work.
We had the solution like this:
After activating the DSO itself(the object) using RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE the issue disappears and the data can be activated. Issue also disappears. BUT Drawback: Activating the DSO causes the transformations to deactivate. Then we used the program RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE to activate all transformations. And then the issue disappeared.
Want to know what the root cause for this. From some SDN threads, mentioned BDLS job in the post refresh steps are not correctly done during system copy may cause this issue. How did the BDLS run wrongly cause this issue? And what is the exact correct way? We ran BDLS for each source systems inlcuding the target refreshed BW system itself by the default selection - conversion of Client-Dependent and Client-Independent Tables; because we used database copy
    for the system refresh.
We also restored all source systems in RSA1 inlcuding the refreshed BW system own in the post-refresh steps.
Thank you very much for your information and suggestion.
    Heming

Hi Arun, as you say two change log tables it´s strange. In fact in my opinion it´s not right but the problem is that the second change log table appears after executing std SAP report RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE in order to be able to activate the DSO. So the solution provided by SAP it works but i´m not sure if the right one. Besides this the original change log table is full of data while the second one is empty... for new loads which are gonna a be filled  by the activation process ? I suppose the second one... will this have some impact with the data stored in the first one... not in theory but.... i do not feel confortable with the consequences of this report.
And the most important, it seems that the reason why the DSO and the change log table had problems is due to a some problems or missing steps after executing the BDLS after BW system refresh but nobody can confirm this point...
So, i´ve been able to solve the issue but now i have two change log tables for the same DSO.
Anybody has the same situation after executing the above mentioned SAP std report ?

  • PI 7.11 sp6 system copy Exchange Profile error code: 399

    Experts,
We have a PI 7.1 (EHP1, sp6) PI system based on AIX 6.1 OS and Oracle 11g.
I recently did the standard PI system copy from a prod source (PIP) to a training target (PIT).
I used the most recenty PI system copy guide that is specific for PI 7.1 EHP1
I did not run into any major problems doing the steps of the copy itself.
I did the usual "post" steps, documented in the guide that really are done on any NW system.
Then I got into the specific "PI" post steps and that's where I now have a problem.
I followed all the steps, fixing my RFCs, JCos, Destinations, cleaning up SLD, SLDAPICUST, creating new business systems...etc.
My big problem is with the exchange profile. Yes, it's easy to change all the SIDs and hostnames using the search tool for all the parameters in the exchange profile, but the one I COULD NOT CHANGE was the "ABAP Connection". In there right after the copy was the hostname of the prod system, the client, and the user PILDUSER. I attempted to put the hostname of my target (PIT) system, but I would get the error:
com.sap.rprof.dbprofiles.DBException: RFC call returned an error code: 399
I'm certain the user is NOT locked and the password is correct for PILDUSER. It'll give me a different error if I put the wrong password in, so I know it's hitting my system.
Worse yet, If I left the hostname in there that was set to "prod", then when I changed all the other values in the "parameters" section of the XI profile, then it actually changed my PROD system!!
If I keep the ABAP connection to PIT, then the entire exchange profile disappears for PIT.
I see these errors in the default trace and application log:
    Caused by: com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.LcrException: CIM_ERR_NOT_FOUND:

+There is problem reading the hostname from the ClusterManager. This could lead to improper wsdl links.#
    SLDCHECK shows this:
Function call returned exception code     3
Access to the XI Profile is currently disrupted.
I can't be the first person to run into this.
SO strange that I can actually plug in either my dev/QA or PROD hostname in the "ABAP connection" box and it WILL ACCEPT IT...but then, it registered my training system as a "non central adapter engine".  I don't want that.
    Any ideas?
Another issue is that the SLD PI information from the PIT system is missing the "Integration Directory".  It has the other 5 entries...Adapter Engine, Domain, Integration Repository, Integration Server,  RWB.
    Thanks for reading this,
    NICK

Here is the error I get when I try to change the "abap connection" to the correct hostname:
