  • Transport for System Copy from RSA1 in BW 3.5

    Hi Guys,
    I am not able to create transport for Source system objects for system copy in RSA1.
    I have copied the production system(BWP) to sandbox(BWQ) and want to connect to same source system.
    According to note 886102 when creating transport for Source system objects I am getting following error.
    You cannot use request BWQK900020
    Object ISIP ZPAK_5FKMUFOSQPPRNYYDZV1U6A7W0 could not be saved to order
    BWQK900020
    This is stand alone system but for transports I have created virtual system. Before creating virtual system I am able to create transports. But now after creating virtual systems I am not able to get pass above errors.
    Any help would be appreciated also with points.

  • Re-collecting and Transporting in ECC after system copy

    Dear Friends,
    I have a situation where i had enhanced a datasource with some Z fields in ECC DEV and had transported them to ECC QA a while ago . Now the basis did a system copy from ECC PRD to ECC QA recently and all my transports are no longer in the Q to re-import to ECC QA. Please let me know if there is a methodical approach in re-collecting these transports in ECC DEV to QA so that i dont miss anything. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Raj,
    Try to add required request to Quality Import Queue and reimport.
    STMS --> Import Overview --> Choose Quality --> Disaplay requests --> (From Menu) Extras --> Other requests --> Add --> add required requests no.
    Once request added it will reflects in import queue of Quality. Try to re-import.

  • Error in collecting transfer Rules in transport request after system copy

    Hello,
    Recently we had a system copy from Production to Test system.
    We are trying to collect all the transfer rules from production in the transport request with the procedure which is given in the below link.
    Re: Q: Transfer Rules after system copy
    When we are trying to transport such objects, system first prompt for transportable workbench request, after specifying request once, it prompts for it again and after providing transport request number system results with message u201CSpecify a requestu201D.
    Please suggest how to overcome this issue.

    thats scary that you are copying your transfer rules from production to test system well if you guy sare doing it good luck..
    a part from that make sure your prd is open so it allows items to be able to transport an dthere is a conenction between prd to test for transports to go through
    if you have already copied all te data source to TEST, replicate them IN BWQ( your test system) then send over tranfer fules .
    hope that helps.

  • System copy for PI 7.0 system

    Hi,
    We are doing system copy for complete landscape and every time we used to perform PI system copy using SAP standard procedure of backup/restore, Java  exp/imp.
    But can we use another approach of exporting IR/ID from source to Target. Because we do not have any transactional data in PI and what are different things that we need to take care if we export individual components.
    Like new ports, we20,we21, IDX1,IDX2
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

    to elaborate more,
    we are doing system copy from Dev to Sandbox (we already have working sand box)
    I am planning below steps
    1) export all the software components from development system - Integration repository and Directory
    2) Adjust the transport path in SLD (source Dev and target Sandbox)
    3) Import the software components to Sandbox for Integration repository and Directory.
    4) change user-passwords to match sandbox authentication.
    Please let me know if i am missing any steps and has any one did a copy by above procedure.
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

  • XI 3.0 post system copy issue

    Hi Experts,
    We are using XI 3.0 on Windows and MSSQL platform, i have made system copy sucessfully from production system with process of DB restore for ABAP and Java Import, the new server is up and running both abap and java.
    Problem : In the newserver when i execute the tcode sxmb_ifr it takes me to production server url and not the new server hostname url.
    when i tried the http://newserver hostname.com:50000 it works fine. but from this url except home page every other link like exchaneprofile, SLD,IR and ID links still points to the production server host name.
    Please look at the following post installation activities i have performed till now in new serverand please guide where else i have to change the host name in the new server.
    Note: i did not cange the logical system assignment in scc4, beacuse i was not sure about the other problems we may face after directly assigning new logical system to the productive client in new server.
    1. Run installation check: Administration u2192 System administration u2192 Administration u2192
    Installation Check (transaction SM28).
    2. Configure the Workbench Organizer (SE06) with the option Database Copy. This
    releases all transport, repair, and customizing requests that have not been released in
    the source system.
    3. Configure STMS
    4. In transaction RZ70, change the value for the host and the gateway service in the group box
    Transport Information
    5. Change the pipeline to the Integration Server by running transaction SXMB_ADM   -> Configuration -> Integration Engine Configuration
    6. Open Visual Administrator -> Change the new host name in the following
                    services -> Jcorfcprovider all the services
                     services -> SLD Suppiler
    7. Host name Change in SLDAPICUST
    Note: In the SAP system copy guide it says me to chane few parameters in exchange profile but when i go through the url http://newserver hostname.com:50000/exchangeProfile it takes me to production server, is there any option to change the exchange profile parameters ?
    Please help me.

    Hi,
    the explanation of some of the thing you have written is clearly that the AII-Properties of the XI system have still not been switched.
    The properties must be changed once - afterwards the URL to the exchange profile and all other URLs should become valid.
    The key is therefore to change the exchange profile. Try please the to access the exchange profile by using the ip address or the fully
    qualified name of the new server http://<newserver>:<port>exchangeProfile/connection.jsp
    Did I get it right - you are redirected to the URL http://<oldserver>:<port>exchangeProfile/connection.jsp ?

  • System copy questions

    Let's assume we have two CRM systems CRD(dev&qas system) & CRP(prd system), and corresponding R/3 systems R3D & R3P, As I read some documents concenring system copy within CRM, I still have doubt on the transport strategy.
    on CRD, After making the manual customizing and finish test replication of customizing/master data/transaction data from R3D, we would like to transport the customzing to CRP, and corresponding customizing from R3D to R3P. But I am not sure:
    1. Only manual customizing in CRD will be transported to CRP? how about the customizing object download from R3D(e.g. condition customizing), are they also transported to CRP or need replication again from R3P?
    2. the organizational model transported or need replication again?
    3. internet user transported or need replciation again?
    4. RFC destination transported or need cusotomizing again in CRP?
    5. If I use the same logical system name in CRD & CRP, is there anything I should pay attention to?
    6. number range transported or need cusotomizing again in CRP?
    7. how about the java applications, like ISA web shop xcm settings?
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
    1 - You must do an initial download of the R/3 adapter objects such as customising and business data in each system.
    2 - Manually set it up in each system.  If it is large then there is a transport program RHMOVE30.
    3 - Users must be created in each system.
    4 - RFC destination created in each system and all initial set up done (table CRMRFCPAR for example in R/3 prd)
    5 - Create a new logical system name, don't use the same as dev.
    6 - Transport the number range (this should have been done when creating it).  If this hasn't been done already then best to do it start in production due to the current number will not be at the start in dev
    7 - should be on different server so would require new xcm settings to point to the different production server
    Cheers

  • User password problem in RFC after system copy

    HEllo,
    we have a problem in ECC6.0 after system copy (refresh QUAL system by PRD data).
    BEfore doing this copy, we export RFC data (SM59 tables) of our QUAL system and after the refresh we reimport these RFC in our QUAL system. We don't want RFC comming from productive system.
    After this reimport, RFC configuration is ok but we have a problem with RFCuser password. In the password box we have "inconsistent"...
    Have you an idea to reimport succesfully these informations ?
    Thanks
    lionel

    Hello,
    We performed another refresh yesterday. But unfortunatly it was not working. Password are still inconsistent.
    This are exactly way we perform it:
    Before restoring DB :
    export table via R3trans for tables:
    RFCDES, RFCDOC, RFCATTRIB, RFCCHECK, RFCDESSECU, RFCSYSACL, RFCTRUST, RFCCMC, RFCGO, SXRFC, IBSSI_RFCDEST, PARAMVALUE, RSECACTB where ident LIKE '___/RFC%'
    export users via scc8
    Restore DB, truncate upper rfc tables,  import rfc Tables
    Check SM59 => inconsistent
    Migrate Secstore => still inconsistent
    Import Users via transport generated by scc8
    run scc7 as post actions
    Tuncatate/re-import rfc tables
    Check SM59 => inconsistent
    Migrate Secstore => still inconsistent
    What else could be done ?
    We have a lot of RFC. so re-enter all password is really a hudge task ..
    Thanks a lot for help

  • XI 3.0 System Copy - Exchange Profile incorrect

    Good day,
    I have copied an XI 3.0 according to the system copy guides.
    I had the source system "live" as well as the "target" during post processing. During this time, I had the hostname of target populating my source SLD Exchange Profile.

    Must the source be unavailable(down altogether) when doing the copy and post processing?

  • SAP BI System Copy with only Config changes, Not Data

    Hi BASIS,
    I have a requirement from a client to build a system landscape stratagy for their SAP BI system.
    We have DEV - QA - PRD systems for SAP BI (7.0 SP 16)
    Both DEV and QA are completely out of sync with PRD. We are doing development tasks directly on PRD. Now we have decided to re-sync the DEV & QA systems with PRD.
    'System copy with Data' will be easier to implement. But our PRD DB size is nearly 3TB. The client is not ready to pay for the extra/temp. disk space for DEV and QA sync. ( We are on DB2).
    Now, we have only one option left. Capture all Config changes from PRD and transport them back to DEV & QA. This is a tedious task and cause many inconsistencies.
    Would anyone have any other ideas to bring the systems in sync with less time involved and less resources.
    I am a SAP BI person. So dont know much about BASIS tasks. Please help me with any links of best practises or SAP notes.
    Cheers

    HI Reddy,
    We came to know from our basis team that we do not have the Java Stack installed in our BI 7.x system yet.
    As it is integrated with EP which has Java, our web reports are working.
    1) But my question is still do we ned to install the Java Stack in our BI system as i do not find any Export to PDF option in EP for the reports (eventhough AS Java supports this).
    2) Or can we use the existing configuration without Java STack integrated to EP for the new tools like Report Designer and Integrated Planning?

  • About sap bw system Copy or backup ?(URGENT)

    Hi gurus:
         Hi friends,I saw many theads about this subject,and I found many documents,But STILL I can't find the way to solve my problem.
         It is: How to export the objects I created in develop system to a harddisk, then import it to the QA system . Dev to QA with harddisk NOT online?
         And can I backup the whole bw system in the harddisk,and restore the bw system in the qa system istead ? how to backup the bw system ?
    All useful reply will assign points
    thx
    chan

    Hi Zegion,
    I think the following may help you:
    Purpose: Preserves logical system dependent objects for restoration in case of a system copy issue when a logical source system is deleted or deactivated. BW will auto re-generate a lot, but not these objects.
    1.     Create on a development system like BWD, because the system is set as a development system in SCC4 and can create and export transports, and will include all objects. A dummy can be used for comparison if the system to be copied is production or test.
    a.     If creating on another system, like BW test (BWT) or production, you must first open the system in
       i.     SE06 – System Change option – modifiable /BIC and /BI0
       ii.     SCC4 – client settings – set like in BW Development system (BWD)
       iii.     STMS – in client 000 from BWD (domain controller)
                1.     Remove BWT from transport path
                2.     Setup new 2-system path BWT-BW? (BWS or virtual system). This creates a ZOUO transport layer, allowing creation of non-local/not $TMP package transports (see complex sample below)
    2.     Go to RSA1-Admin workbench, Transport Connection
        a.     Select Object Types
        b.     Set for Grouping-“Save for system copy”
        c.     Set for “Start manual” collection
        d.     Set for Display “List”
    3.     Drag and drop source system (select from “select objects” list and “transfer selection”) to collection window, example – SCEM, SC0CLNT575, DEVCLNT100, SAP_DEMO. I recommend only doing one source system at a time for maximum flexibility…and because the R3 sources are very large.
        a.     Then execute collection – “Gather dependent objects”
        b.     Select each category (mainly Transfer Rules, Transfer structure and InfoPackages…whatever is selected. On each header, right click and select “transfer all below”
        c.     Validate that there are no objects in the $TMP development package (DevClass). If it is, select the object and change package button to set to ZAWB. (Anything but $TMP (local))
        d.     NOTE- To reset transport connection, select anything on the left frame of the screen to refresh
    4.     You are now ready to transport…select the truck icon to create
        a.     Call it Save for System Copy and the source system name
        b.     Go to SE09/SE10 and release it and tasks to the OS level
    5.     Cleanup – reset STMS and distribute, reset SCC4 and SE06 on “BW0”/Source BW system
    6.     Verify RSA1- Tools – mapping of source system names on target BW system (i.e. BWU) for “source system” of transport (i.e. SC0CLNT575).
    7.     Verify RSA1- Modeling-Source system connection checks OK on target system
    8.     Manually import transport in STMS – Import Queue, extras, other requests, Add (to buffer). Import single with right click or partially loaded truck icon, select options as below:
    9.     LAST STEP – Validate import logs and activated objects. If there is an error, ensure the link to the new system is active, the RSA1-Tools-Mapping of source system names converts properly from say DEVCLNT100 to TSTCLNT200 (correct frame of reference) and reimport.
    if it helpful reward point are appreciated

  • After System Copy warning file not found

    Hi experts,
    I got warning in my db2diag.log after performing system copy. My current SID is Q01 and previous one is P01.

    Hello Aswin,
    As it seems to be the R3trans process that is linked to the warning message, please check the path definitions in your transport profiles. Check the directory, transport tool etc in STMS. Checck for any mention of the old sid.

  • System copy - CUA how to keep (merge) some of the old target system users ?

    Hi,
    can anyone suggest if the following is possible and if so, the best way to enable the following within a CUA landscape :-
    Standard SAP System Copy of Production to QA.
    Cleanup of "Production" user master records in the QA system to remove users not required in QA.
    Resend a set of test user id's which existed in the pre-system copy QA system (and still in the QA CUA master system) to the newly copied QA system to merge with the cleaned up  QA user master.
    Re-link the new QA system with the QA CUA master system to transfer the "merged" list of QA users into the QA CUA.
    I've simulated the above on a test server but the process of sending down the sub-set of old QA test id's from the CUA master (using report RSCCUSND) does not create the users in the QA client even though the report itself appears to have transferred the users. Checking SU01 on the target CUA client shows no user has been created and there are no idocs passed from Master --> Client.
    Other than either exporting the QA users to a transport before the system copy (for re-import after the system copy to replace the copy of the production user masters with the old QA list), or using the "production" users in QA following the system copy I can't seem to find a way of merging some of the old QA users with a cleaned up list of production users in the QA system post system copy.
    If anyone knows of a way to do what I'm suggesting then please let me know.
    Brian.

    Hi Brian,
    I don't think there is an option, directly.
    However what I would do is.
    Before System Copy
    On the QA Side:
    1) Create a new client in the QA and only copy user masters in the empty client.
    2) In this new client, keep only those users I need after client copy.
    3) Take help from ABAP guys to include all usr* table entries (with MANDT field selected only for the new client) into a transport request and save it for later use.
    On the Production Side:
    1) Export user masters of the production client
    2) Create a new client in Production and re-import the user masters
    3) Work on the new client to cleanse the unwanted users.
    4) Re-export the new user master of the new client and save it for later use.
    After System Copy
    1) Import the exported user masters from the production server , thus overwriting the client with the users selectively chosen from the production user master.
    2) Import the transport request to merge the older users from the QA.
    I know this is a crude way.. anyways..
    Hope that helps,
    Siddhesh

  • System Copy in AIX

    Hi experts,
    o m new to basis. can anybody  answer to following questions?
    1)complete system copy procedure(pre-requisites and post).
    2)what are all the file systems i shud take back up for system copy.
    3)Pls tell me be how to check the file systems(sapdata1,2,3 etc).
    can u give the commands in steps wise.
    Regards,
    Abdul Majid

    Hello Abdul
    Refresh from Offline backup (AQC from APC) let's say AQC is quality and APC is production
    Pre-processing Activity:
    Verifications:
    1. Verify the last offline backup in the source system
    /oracle/<sourceSID>/sapbackup/back<sourceSID>.log
    2. Verify that both the source and target systems are at the same Oracle level (which is already the case
    between APC and AQC)
    3. It is recommended that an off-line backup be taken of the target system before starting this process, in
    case of fall back.
    4. Confirm there is enough space in the target (AQC) file systems to contain the data from the source
    system this is required as we may have to copy the files from Production to quality.
    /oracle/SID/sapdata* folders should be having little more space as compared to the source filesystem.
    5. Check access to SAP* for APC (000 and 400) and also for AQC (000 and 400)
    6. Check other passwords such as <sid>adm and ora<sid>
    7. Server : <source server name>
    User : ora<sid>
    > sqlplus u201C/ as sysdbau201D
    > alter database backup controlfile to trace
    > exit
    In /oracle/SID/saptrace/usertrace, the last trace (check the time) is the script for recreating the control
    file.  You will need to edit it. Please rename the trace file to ld<TARGET_SID>.sql and send the file to the
    target system /oracle/SID
    Edit the Script:
    vi  ld<SAPsid>.sql
    Delete or comment out all lines at the beginning of the file before STARTUP NOMOUNT which is kept.
    Change old controlfile creation statement at the beginnig of the controlfile:
    Old line:     create controlfile reuse database  <SAPsid>   NOresetlogs  archivelog;
              change to
    New line:     create controlfile   set   database   <SAPsid>  resetlogs  archivelog;
    replace all occurences of string  <source_SAPsid>  by  <SAPsid> in each line where <source_SAPsid>
    appears
    :g / <source_SAPsid> / s / <source_SAPsid> / <SAPsid> /g
    example:
    :g/P10/s/P10/T21/g
    Delete the following lines a the end of the script:
                   RECOVER DATABASE;
                   ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG ALL;
                   ALTER DATABASE OPEN;
    8. Get from the Prod system (APC) the .aff and backDPR.log and copy them on AQC.
    (/oracle/<SID>/sapbackup)
    Copy      the  files to /instkits/SID/. And after we can go on target source server and copy them from
    /instkits/SID to the /oracle/SID/sapbackup/. With the good owner and permission
    9. Lock all the users in client 400 except Basis and post system message.
    Target system data collection (On AQC -400):
    1.     SM59 Expand all the trees, print by choosing:  ->System ->List ->Print
    i)     Compare list to R/3 connections on source system.  Record details for any that will need to be
    recreated on target system.
    2.     SCC4 Record all client settings.  -> Tableview ->Print ->Standard List -> List -> Print
    Make sure you understand the columnsu2026
    3.     SE06 Record system change options
    4.     RZ10 Record the instance profile settings for:  rdisp/wp-no-btc  and rdisp/max_wprun_time
    5.     STMS Record current transport routes.  ->Overview -> Transport Routes ->           manually
    expand all trees -> system ->list ->print
    6.     Request customer to provide u201Ccatch-upu201D list of transports to be applied to system after refresh
    (QA and Sandbox systems).
    7.          RZ04 Record current work process set-up. Highlight each operation mode and click
    instances/op modes button.
    i)     Print with ->System ->List ->Print
    8.     SAP License Ensure the SAP license information is available. If not on-hand, logon target
    system as <sid>adm and enter command:  saplicense u2013show. This information is also available on OSS.
    9.     TSM Nodename View /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsm.sys on source and target system.
    Record the nodename entries. These will be <SID>SAP or server names.
    11.       Take printer Export through SPAD and save it locally to desktop->SPAD
    12.        Take Export of User Master from the client 400 through SCC8 target system is AQC , so that it
    may be re-imported through STMS.
    Note the Transport number here also verify the transport exist in the queue.
    DB Restore from offline backup from APC:
    1. Stop SAP on AQC -> Login as aqcadm -> stopsap
    2. Change the TSM node on AQC-> cd /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64
            ls -lrt
           vi /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsm.sys
    Change it to point to APC, comment the AQC Node.
    Post Restore Acitivity:
    1. Stop Database
    Delete Old controlfile
    rm /oracle/AQC/sapdata1/system_1/cntrl/*
    rm /oracle/AQC/saparch/cntrl/*
    rm /oracle/AQC/origlogA/cntrl/*
    2. Re-create the controlfile and then after that start the database
    User : ora<sid>
    > cd
    > sqlplus u201C/ as sysdbau201D
    > @ld<target_sid>.sql
    > alter database open resetlogs;
    3. Change the sapr3 password
    Server : <target server name>
    User : ora<sid>
    Temporarily, we have to change the sapr3 password to the default password.  With SAPBA, change this
    user password to pass.
    4. Test the connection:
    Server : <target server name>
    User : <sid>adm
    > R3trans u2013d
    It should have a return code of 0000
    5. Reasign tempfile
    alter tablespace psaptemp add tempfile '/oracle/AQC/sapdata1/temp_1/temp.data1'
    size 6020M reuse autoextend on next 20971520 maxsize 10000M;
    alter database rename global_name to AQC.WORLD;
    drop user OPS$APCADM cascade;
    drop user OPS$ORAAPC;
    create user OPS$ORAAQC identified externally default tablespace psapdnausr
    temporary tablespace psaptemp;
    grant connect, unlimited tablespace, SAPDBA to OPS$ORAAQC;
    grant connect, unlimited tablespace, SAPDBA to OPS$AQCADM;
    7. Change the instance profile to stop all the background processing
    To be sure that no production batch are executing, set rdisp/wp_no_btc to 0
    posprocessing:
    8. Startsap
    9. Run Transaction SICK (as sap*)
    10. Installing license through the tcode: slicense
    While logged in as 000/sap*/using password of APC system
    Get the License from service.sap.com and download it to local machine
    Log in 000 client using SAP* and run the Tcode slicense
    import printers, run BDLS for logical system name conversions
    se06 posprocessing
    stms
    usermaster import
    import profiles for QAS

  • Homogeneous system copy on iseries

    Hello All,
    We are planning to refresh our R/3 development system (SID: R3D) by doing homogeneous system copy using production data (SID: R3P).
    There are couple of open transports in development system and I donu2019t want to overwrite those in the process of system copy.
    also I donu2019t want to over write users idu2019s and passwords.
    When i goggled, I found a procedure  to execute a User Master Export SCC8 (client export) for profile: SAP_USER.
    After creating a transport with users master datau2026 should I copy the transport co and data files to some other location, so that it doesn't get over written?
    Should i save all CO and data files of transports from u201CR3Du201D into a separate folder and reimport into one by one after reconfiguring TMS?
    Is there any procedure to save all variants in the system and apply the same after system copy?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hello rk_007,
    but I do not see a real solution for your issues except the users ... SAP_USERS is ok and can be used at any time. All the rest will delete ALL tables and replace it with the copy.
    So, when you do a system refresh from R3P to R3D and then replace with SAP_UCSV ALL application data will be deleted ;-((
    You cannot conserve open transports as well. You have to close them, and reimport later on again and open new ones for the missing functionality,
    So, the process is a bit more complicated in a 2-system landscape as you might think.
    Would be a client export of R3P perhaps sufficient ?
    The versions of ABAPs are lost as well ... you should backup them before deleting R3D.
