Thanks everyone for the response and help.
I completed the task yesterday with the permission method. However, I think I found the solution after completion. The trick lies at the oraInst.loc file. It lies at /etc directory for my case (AIX 5.3).
If you do a opatch lsinventory, it shows you the Central Inventory location and the location of orainst.loc. For my case, it is pointing to /oracle/DE1/920_64/inventory. Therefore, even though I am logging in as oraqa1 with all env and oracle settings correct, it still points to DE1 inventory.
I think modifying the Central inventory location in oraInst.loc will solve this problem.

HELP!! i have a ton of videos of my boys stored in iPhoto..They played fine on my old OSX system (leopard). However, I just upgraded to snow leopard and then to mountain lion and now i can't open my videos at all anymore. HELP!!
Can you tell us about one or more of the video files - what are they? QuickTime? MP4? Something else? How did you create the video files in the first place?
I do a lot of video and when I upgraded to Snow Leopard I discovered that many of the QT videos that I had created previously (via iMovie & Final Cut) would not play correctly in QuickTime X - the bizarre behavior was that QT X acted as if my video files were only audio files! I reported this to Apple at the time but never heard anything back, and there hasn't been any change in later updates to QT X.
The solution was to (re)install QuickTime 7. But first look in your Applications > Utilities folder. When you upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard, the installer normally moves the old QT 7 program to your Utilities folder. If it's there, try using QT 7 to play one of your video files. If QT 7 is not there, you can download and install it from here Make sure you are running at least OS X 10.6.3 before you install QT 7. It's even better if you make sure you are running 10.6.8 which was the last release of Snow Leopard. -

Edited by: Sachin N on Apr 14, 2008 12:26 PMNo. If the environment would be wrong the system wouldn´t start up.
Core dumps are in 99 % of the cases program errors (in the SAP kernel or in an interface (libdbora*)), misaligend accesses of data etc.
If you encounter such an error have a look in the C-Stack. If you can´t see where the error is happening opening an OSS call. Most of those errors are fixed by installing the latest patches for the kernel and the database interface.

Required Post Upgrade Jobs: Missing jobs and failures
Folks,
In reviewing "Required Post Upgrade Jobs", I found that "Compile Non-Compiled Flexfields" failed. The job was submitted by APPSMGR and immediately started since the Request Process queues were not initially deactivated as reccomended in doc 399362.1. I'm afraid I don't know the password for APPSMGR. Is there a way for me to restart this job so that any successors release?
Only a handful of the required jobs show to have been submitted and run. Would required jobs that have not run and do not appear in the queue need to be manually submitted?
Thanks for any help.All of my post upgrade processes completed without error except the flexfield compile of AR_ADJUSTMENTS_ALL_DFV. It will not compile from within the forms either:

LINK 시에 CORE DUMP가 생길 경우(TMP 공간의 부족 현상)
제품 : PRECOMPILERS
작성날짜 : 1999-04-09
'Ld:Fatal error: Segmentation fault - core dump'
df (for SunOS, AIX,SGI, OSF, DGUX)
df -k (for Solaris, Unisys SVR4, ATT)
bdf (for HPUX)
df -v (for SCO)
Solaris를 예로 들자면.
$ df -k
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s0 72215 24030 40965 37% /
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s6 288391 167878 91683 65% /usr

/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s3 25533 20445 5088 81% /tmp
/tmp 는 고작 5mb 가 남아 있고 /opt 는 220 mb 가 남아
있는 것을 확인할수 있다.
2. directory를 생성하고 oracle이 쓸수 있도록 다음과 같이
조치한다.
$ mkdir /opt/oratmp
$ chown oracle /opt/oratmp
3. 이 directory tmp 공간으로 사용한다.
For Bourne or Korn shells:
$ TMPDIR=/opt/oratmp; export TMPDIR
For C Shell:
$ setenv TMPDIR /opt/oratmp
4. Relink작업이나 Link작업을 수행한다. -

Does anybody know or guess what could be a reason and how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance. -
We're currently in our upgrade project. I have a concern about our transport system after upgrading to ECC 5.0. Here is my scenario. We are currently upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 5.0. All systems are central installations no app servers. Production server consist of PRD. Second server contains DEV and QA. The transport directory is shared between these server.
Upgrade landscape is on another server containing a Dev 5.0 and QA 5.0 system. Our go live plan is to upgrade PRD after testing on QA 5.0. I will manually add post upgrade transports to PRD and then import. My question is, will I run into any problems by manually adding the transports to PRD?
Yes, I know 6.0 is the better upgrade version but it's a long story.
Thank you in advance.Hi Martin,
What do you mean by post upgrade transport if it is SPDD & SPAU fixes then for this you will get option during the upgrade to add a single transport request.
If you are talking @ the development happening into DEV & QA system during the production system upgrade the you just need to keep track of the transport sequance and need to import in a same sequance in the PRD after the upgrade
Hope this will help you, do revert if you need any more info.

Sachin. -
Reason for Inactive Infoset Post Upgrade
Hi,
As a part of Upgrade testing, I have observed this in all the systems that Infosets turn Inactive Post Upgrade. And i realise this only when i Execute a Query on an Infoset; it gives me a warning that I need to activate the underlying Infoset.
I am keen on finding the root of this error so that we can take care of these in the systems that have to be upgraded in future.
Any Pointers ?
Regards
ShwetaHi,
it might be necessary to activate all existing InfoSets and MultiProviders based on them after upgrading to NetWeaver 2004s.
Reason:
Infosets are sometimes deactivated because additional checks are available after the upgrade or because new attributes become part of your info-object.
Also,an object can be inactive after upgrade even if the objct contained any custom objects in it. You may have to activate it or run RSRV check.
If there is any change(custom object etc) in InfoSet, it is automatically inactivated and you have to reactivate it.
To activate all such InfoProviders there are programs in SE38 like RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE,RSDG_MPRO_ACTIVATE,RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE
Hope this explaination helps! -
Hi,
After learning howto setup my OCCI Environment handle
correctly for threads using;
Environment::Mode mode = (Environment::THREADED_MUTEXED,
Environment::OBJECT);
The class that encapsulates this is a singleton and used
through out the process by all the threads. This class
conection pools and is synchronised for all the threads.
However, using this singleton model, I get core dumps
when more than 1 thread attempts to execute a commit on
the database via the connection they have obtained from
this singleton class.
Instantiating the class or environment per thread does
not result in core dumps. Rather it runs smoothly.
Is this normal behaviour?
(Also when all the threads are querying the singleton
model works fine. Seems only commits)
RaffaeleHi,
I tried the THREADED_MUTEX|OBJECT but I still get core
dumps when threading. What I experience is during a
connection->commit() or any other call on a connection
when threading causes a core dump.
I use the OCCI object inrterface and my db is an object
schema. I am trying to use the full OO dev that comes
with Oracle...ott included.
Everything boils down to my singleton DB class which
is shown below; (Is there any other thread initialisation
required)

Lenovo ThinkVision Pro2840m 4K no DisplayPort signal on POST
Hi all,
I have a pair of the Lenovo ThinkVision Pro2840m 4K monitors since about 4 days ago, and very unfortunately I am encountering a lot of issues which I will be posting in separate messages.
My configuration is as follows:
System: Lenovo ThinkStation S10 with BIOS ver. 2WKT47AUS
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX670 by POV with BIOS ver. 80.04.19.00.04
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 ver. 6.1.7601
NVIDIA: Drivers 331.82 (but have same issue with 332.21/337.88/340.43)
ThinkVision Display: Microcode LN3.01 with display driver ver. 1.0.0.0 (10/09/2013) installed
Connection: Cable connected on the DisplayPort of the display and on the DisplayPort of the GPU with the included in the box DP-DP cable. No other displays are connected to the GPU other than the Pro2840m.
Issue: No video signal during POST on DisplayPort
When powering on the PC, the display detects a video signal (else it would show 'DP No Connection - Check Signal Cable) and its power indicator goes from orange to green, then the 'Power Saving Mode' sign comes on (in the meantime the PC is going through POST) then the sign goes off and the power indicator turns back to orange. Then when the windows booting process is complete, the power indicator goes back from orange to green and the monitor displays the windows login screen.
As a consequence of this I can not enter the BIOS and RAID settings. It is obvious that I need to be using the DisplayPorts on both the GPU and display because only then I will be able to run 4K@60Hz. So switching to use other connectors on the GPU (even if they would provide signal) is not an option, as I will need to be swapping cables on and off each time I need to restart the PC just to keep an eye if for instance one of my RAID arrays has failed.
I really would appreciate it if anyone else having this display can replicate or has this problem too. Maybe someone from Lenovo support can ask their colleagues to try this with a similar setup to verify the issue.
If I have any updates I will certainly post them here on the OP.
Solved!
Go to Solution.UPDATE
2 Days ago I received my second pair of the Lenovo Pro2840m 4K monitors with a newer manufacturing date (21-06-2014) compared to the first pair (20-05-2014). It turns out that the new pair have very pleasantly a newer firmware running.
Microcode LN3.06 appears to have addressed the major issue of no DisplayPort signal during POST. I have tested and can confirm to all interested that when running LN3.06 the issue is no longer present during a cold startup, restart/reboot and resume from hibernation.
I want to thank the dedicated hardware team behind the ThinkVision line, and I will proceed to obtain the new Microcode for my first pair of screens as well. -
Hi all,
We have faced this problem in our production system.
Machine is Solaris 8, sparc, Running Java 1.3.1_08 hotspot version.
I searched around quite a bit but no good solution.
Here is the stack trace that I have just before the JVM crashes.
Also, I am new to gdb. I tried to connect to core dump file through gdb but i
do not see any details. The application is running on japanese platform how can
I read the core file?
Regards
Tapan

Hi
In AIX core dump file, we got this message
'SOFTWARE PROGRAM ABNORMALLY TERMINATED'CORE FILE NAME
/scclive/oracle/inst/apps/SCC_ebsprod/ora/10.1.2/forms/core
PROGRAM NAME
frmweb
We are getting these errors frequently when there was some network issue between our server and PDC. That why oracle application server is hanging and we had to bounce for resolving the issue. Can anybody help how to resolve permanently from AIX point of view?
Regards
AteeqHi
1)In which way the PDC is connected to your EBIZ system?
No we are using hostfile. 2)If point 1 is correct then u should solve the network issue as the forms sessions are hanging coz of network issue OR If point 1 is correct then you must update the EBIZ system hostfile with the fully qualified domain name and remove DNS server for the EBIZ system to solve this issue.
We do have fully qualified domanin name in hostfile.As well as using DNS server also.Regards
