System Crash and Database Restart
Hi,
I have a CRM 2007 system with MaxDB 7.7.
The system had an unplanned restart during the night.
Now I have reboot and I am trying to get the database back online.
Any dbbcli command I run such as db_state or db_online such as
dbmcli -n lsadc1 -d DC1 -u SUPERDBA,xxxxxxx db_online
just returns with the message:
"Error! Connection failed to node lsadc1 for database DC1:
Connection broken"
Some dbmcli commands do work such as:
E:\sapdb\DC1\db\pgm>dbmcli version
OK
version,os,dbroot,logon,code,swap
"7.7.02","WIN32","E:\sapdb\DC1\db",True,ASCII,2
Can anyone give an information on this?
Thanks.

A bit more information on this.
I have found that if I run Xserver in the foreground and use the dbmcli command with an IP address rather than the server name, Xserver displays the following message:
"18456 ERROR: Could not read from 'teo110_PipeBase::eo110_ReadPipe' pipe, rc = 109"
Thanks again.

Hi Peter,
as you're a SAP customer, please do open a support message for this.

while browsing suddenly the system crashed and the bottom panel says " stopped".When closed and re-opened, I got a prompt that says firefox is still running and i have to close to open again or have to restart the computer but it doesn't work
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== just happenedYou get message "firefox is still running" and computer restart doesn't help you. Try the advice below.
Make sure Firefox isn't running (end firefox.exe process in Task Manager or restart computer)
Find your profile folder
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
find file "parent.lock" in it and delete it (the file is empty, its function is to signify to Firefox whether it's already open or not).
Then try to open Firefox again. Will it start or not? What will it say? -

I ran the suspect code which i believed was causing the issue as a standalone Java program using the same Java executable and it worked fine without any crash.
Appreciate any inputs / discussion / feedback / thoughts on this topic.
Good day.I just wanted to throw in one more thought. I have also seen that there is a restart=true parameter. Maybe if we set this to true, and just issue the command to shut down the server in the script, the managed server will restart on its own.
Would greatly appreciate any advice! -
System crash during database extension
Hello!
Unfortunatly we experienced a system crash during database extension. The new datafile (DISKD0013) was only partly (1,4GB of 9GB) created, when the server went down.
These are the error messages we get when trying to start the database:

Is there a manual way to correct this problem by removing the "corrupted" DISKD0013?
Regards,
FredrikHi Fredrik,
you can either:
a) remove all necessary parameters from the paramfile using the relevant dbmcli commands (param_directdel)
b) perform a parameterfile recovery using dbmcli (param_restore)
You're okay as long as nothing was written on the new volume.
When using a) you need to make sure you delete all necessary parameter entries belonging to the datavolume (size, type etc.).
When you're restoring to an old parameterfile, you need to make sure the parameterfile's only difference is the datavolume extension as the last change, otherwise you'd possibly reset more than you'd like. To check the parameterhistory, you can for example take a look at the <DBSID>.pah file in the /sapdb/data/config directory.
If you're unsure what to do, i.e. if it's a productive system and you're an SAP customer: open an OSS message.

I have an iMac 23", 3.06 Intel Core 2 duo. Whenever I try to play YouTube videos, the system crashes and I get a "Safari quit unexpectedly" message.
I know there are Apple vs YouTube issues, but the same thing happens when I try to play video ads from the Apple site.
The computer is 4 yrs old- this problem started a couple of months ago. No major changes, just updated as available.
Any suggestions....?I don't have any Safari extensions that I know of. I didn't install any anti-virus.
This is on the error message when it comes up. I went to the WebProcess application in Time Machine and tried to restore it to one year ago, but it didn't fix the problem. As I recall, this began about the time Apple and YouTube parted ways- whether that is coincidence or not...
/System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari/Webkit2.framework/WebProcess.app/Content s/MacOS/WebProcess
Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I really appreciate the effort. I'm a amatuer at this, I'm afraid. -
Firefox crashed and after restarting, tabs i had open were gone and weren't in the history either. It didn't give me the option of restoring, how do i get them back?
Sorry , you probably can not get them back.
You may have bookmarked them, or have them as part of the History previously stored and still searchable, but unfortunately otherwise you are unlikely to get them back. Firefox does to a certain extent back up bookmarks automatically but not the history.
If you get problems with crashes see [[firefox crashes]] -
after mozilla firefox crashed and a restart, the Firefox Developer Edition opend - how to open the normal firefox browser ?
See if this works for you.
Open up Tools > Options -> General and toggle the first preference - '''Allow Firefox Developer Edition and Firefox to run at the same time''' - to get back to your previous Aurora Profile. It will tell you to restart Firefox.
If there's a check-mark in the box for that pref it shows the Aurora Profile, if you remove that check-mark it shows the Developer Edition Profile. -
My system crashed and I needed to reinstall windows 7 now all my i-tunes are saved as a plist in my backup
My question is how do I convert the plist back into the library??

System crash and reboot since Mavericks install
Hi all
I have recently upgraded my OS to Mavericks, on my early-2008 Macbook Pro, and have experienced system crashes and reboots since then.
The crashes occur when using either of my web browsers, Safari and Chrome, and definitely seems to occur more frequently when using YouTube. I haven't experienced a crash in any other applications. I have tried updating Flash, then deleting and re-installing Flash when the upgrade was unsuccessful; not sure if this was relevant or related but I thought I'd give it a try anyway.
System spec:
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB
Software OS X 10.9 (13A603)
Currently using less than 50% of the 200GB drive.
Following one of the first crash and reboots, I copied a report to Notes for future reference. Here is the report:

system crashed and lost library, want to recover
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I don't know how to fix the xml file or prevent it's damage except to keep a current backup copy of the domain.sites2 file. You can do that on an hourly basis with Time Machine or use a backup application like Synk Standard which can do incremental backup (i.e. copy just those new or changed files) at any time.
As for separating the sites into their own domain files I use iWebSites to manage over 75 individual sites. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.
There is a downside to this method if you're publishing to MobileMe. When publishing multiple sites to MMe from their own separate domain file the last published site will be the default site when using the default URL for that MMe account: http://web.me.com/MobileMeAccountName/. That could mess up any CNAME forwarding if you have a domain name pointed to your default MMe site.

i had to reformat my PC after a massive system crash and luckly all my itunes songs and vids were on my itouch is there anyway to restore my info one my newly wiped clean pc
If you backed up the iPod before restoring it then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
iOS: How to back up
Also, if yoo have that backup you can extract the photos by:

My system crashed and need softw
my system crashed and i need the the software disc that came with my soundblaster li've when i purchased it i cannot find the oringal disc and i dont know where to find a complete download
I am having the same problem with my soundblaster li've 5. card (model # sb000). I no longer have the original cd that came with my card and cant find the right driver for the card at soundblaster support site. There is a standalone driver there for another model (# sb0600) and that driver will not work with my card.
I fail to understand why SoundBlaster will NOT post a driver for their older cards. It is probably easier to go and buy another sound card but why should we have to throw away a working card simply because Creative decided NOT to support their older models. It is almost insulting to find out after hours of search that this company decided not to supply drivers for a two year old card.
For a long time, I had been a fan of Creative products. That will certainly have to change now.
Please let me know if any of you knows where to download a full driver for my model (# sb000). -
Difference between Instance Crash and Database Crash in Standalone and RAC?
I am new to Oracle Environment. I would appreiciate if i get clarified on the "_+Difference between Instance Crash and Database Crash in Standalone and
RAC_".+
Oracle Version: 11.1.0.7.0

Literally, database crash means that the database itself is damaged in some way. A disk is no more. Data files are corrupted. Etc. The database itself thus causes the crash - and a database crash will also cause all database instances (RAC or single) for that database to crash too.
An instance crash will therefore mean that the crash occurs in the instance due to an Oracle bug or similar. In other words a s/w error and not a database error. The database is still "fine", but the instance not. Instance crashes. However, any other instance on that same (RAC) database will still be fine as the database itself is unaffected by that s/w error in the crashed instance.
If you mean something different, please enlighten us. Not all crashes are equal. {noformat};-){noformat} -

raymondHi, when system panic, am i still able to boot up to single user mode or multiuser mode? last time when my senior face this problem, he said he cant boot up. and remain in OK prompt. then he said the system panic is becoz of the hdd or mount point is full (95%). so he said jus remove some of the files to reduce the size, then do fsck -f, and then boot up.
is it correct?
since not able to boot up to init 3, so how to boot hardisk (as u mentioned)?
anyther thing, about the crashdump and coredump, i know how to configure and enable it. but is it the files vmcore.0 and unix.0 useful? but as i know that we r hard to read these files. -
System Crash and Slow Performance
Hello -
I am hoping that someone might help me -- before upgrading (or downgrading dependent of your view) I was happy and go lucky with my Power Mac G5 -- I have connected via firewire two external hard drives (1 TB) and (500 GB) along with my (2X 500GB) internal drives. Since loading leopard, I have noticed that the system "stalls" and seeks data on the external drives first then goes to the internal drives. Is there a way to prevent that from happening and the system check internally first.
Second, is I am noticing that my applications are starting to crash at random, Pages, Excel, MS Word, Safari etc. Is there something out here? Or did I do something wrong.
Frustrated in Boston!
JonathanHi:
I installed as an Upgrade --I did do a disk utility and repaired all permissions and verified the disk. It seems that with the Biggy drive (1TB) not connected the system is a little faster. How do I keep it that while keeping biggy attached?
Thank you so much for your help.
Jonathan
