System Crash by Audigy 2 ZS ...... (Critical Display & Sound Probl

Hi All,
I have Creative Audigy 2 ZS and T7700 Speaker system. And i am currently running Windows XP Professional OS.
I have problem while running media source application, the system crashes after few minutes of operation. Earlier the system used to hang very rarely while running media source application. But it has become very frequent now. The system displays gets hang and it show noisy screen and the speaker output also chances to noise. Then i have no other option other than to turn off the system power and reboot the system again
I have tried after removing Audigy sound card from the system and the system worked fine for whole day with out any problems.
I am using intel motherboard D865GVCHZ. I have updated the system BIOS and latest drivers for the motherboard, but that was of no use.
Please help me to resolve this issue
Thanks

Thanks for you immediate response.
I have not removed the software & drivers installed for the audigy. But i tried after removing the Hardware (Audigy Sound Card) from the system.
I have installed all the drivers which comes along with the installation CD of audigy sound card.
After removing the audigy sound card from the system. I tested playing some movie file over windows media player and that work fine, although there was no sound as i had removed the sound card from the system. I used the system for running all complex softwares like WINDVD, WINAMP etc. as well as other development tools to find if the problem is due to motherboard or due to some other drivers. But i didnt find any problem in the system at all.
Thanks

So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

  • System Crash - all sound lost

? [size="2" face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif">I have a Dell Dimension 8300* which came with a Creative SB Audigy 2 sound system installed (Creative sound card, 4 speakers, subwoofer). They worked OK. A recent system crash required reinstallation of the OS (Windows XP) and all applications and drivers, including Audigy's. At first, everything was fine. Then, suddenly, no audio from my (Dell) speakers. Not a peep. I've verified that they are connected properly. Sounds/audio DO play through my head phones. I've tried connecting cheapo Logitech speakers to the sound card ... no sound from them either. I've gone through each troubleshooting steps specified by XP's help system. If your headphones are plugged into the same hole you use for your speakers the problem is not with the soundcard.
I guess the socket on the card may be faulty and just make contact with the headphone pin better but its highly unlightly.

  • My Audigy 2 ZS is causing system crashes and..

    Hi guys,
I've had my computer for over a year now and any time I play a game I get the blue screan of death and or send error report. Then Microsofts site tells me that the system crash was the result of a device driver. I have been having sound problems since day one and did not want to deal with so I just delt with it, NO MORE!!! I have had popping, crackling, and NPC's lips moving with no sound for a few seconds, Oblivion is the only game where I got popping or cracking sounds and missing sound FX. I've uninstalled the drivers and recently updated the sound drivers with no fix, I've updated each new driver 3 times and still problems no solved, but every time it say a problem has accurd with Oblivion and needs to close or SilentHunter 3 or doom 3 or Fear or any game I have Ive had enough!!! What is my problem? The only device I have ever had a problem with is my sound card. I also herd other people having the same simptems I have had and some say reduce your hardware accelleration. Please help!

  • Display driver problems - system crashes

My display driver keeps 'not working properly' casuing my system to crash. This is increadably annoying and I can't aford a new PC.
I have tried installing the new driver from the downloads section, but it solves nothing.
    What can I try?

    Hi
What did you mean with system crashes?
Does the blue screen of death appear on the screen or what?
Did you use the right Toshiba graphic diver? I dont know which unit you have but some series uses different drivers. Be sure that the driver is right!
But if you youre 100% sure that the driver is correctly and properly installed so its possible that there could be something wrong with the graphic card on board

  • Whenever I plug my ipod into the aux line on my Pioneer sound system in my car, the whole system crashes.  WHY??

It didn't used to.  It doesn't matter if the battery is full, empty, or in between.  Even if the system has been playing Sirius for a long time, as soon as I plug in my ipod, the whole system crashes, restarts, crashes, restarts, etc.  What can I do??

    Try connecting another device.
    You can also try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Help! Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Sound Card -

Hello. I've just recieved my new soundcard. It is the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7. Sound Card - OEM. (Located here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...atid=&subcat=)
My motherboard is a Asus A8N SLi se.
Now, I have put it in my motherboard, and just tried to install the drivers. I got an error though. It said "No compatible creative product detected." So I downloaded the drivers off the Creative site, and that did not help either. I disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS, and yet it still did not work. I tried plugging in the soundcard into each of the soundcard ports on my motherboard, and none of them detected the card.
I am sick of using onboard, and would like to get this problem fixed.
    Some additional information:
The back audio/microphone ports on my motherboard never worked. I have been using the front sockets on my case. I see cables running from my motherboard to the front of my case. Maybe one of those cables need to go into my soundcard in order for it to work? I'm not sure which though, so I didn't try it, just incase.
Here are some screenshots of what I'm getting. They might help.
Drivers from the Creative site: http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/4528/gayap9.jpg
Drivers from the Creative CD: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/3649/gaycdam5.jpg
Unknown Device in my Device Manager: http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9924/unknownoj8.jpg
Now, I have no other creative parts in my computer. So this should be the soundcard, right?
Thanks in advanced for any replies.

Does the cable from the MB to the front I/O panel simuliar to this one? I installed a Audigy2 ZS in my other system and connected the black cable with the 0 pin connector to the card to use my front phone/mike jacks. Also in your device manager I see the Realtek AC97 still listed. When I installed the XM card in my 600 I disabled it in the BIOS so the entry does not show up in mine just the SB XF-I is displayed.

  • Problem with iTunes suspected to cause system crashes.

I have been having problems lately with using iTunes. I'll try to explain the troubles as best I can.
When iTunes is running, sometimes can be a couple minutes, sometimes half an hour, i will always eventually get a system crash of a very strange nature. The usb power will cut out, the sound will click repeatedly, and the last image displayed on the monitor will be frozen on.
    Steps I have tried:
Reinstalling 10.1.1 including a removal of all itunes, quicktime, and apple software packages from my computer, reduced frequency of issue, still happens though.
    Downgrading to 10.0/10.0.0
    no real effect.
Downgrading to last version of 9
problem seemed to go away (might just be significantly less frequent), but I realized I cannot sync my ipod touch 4g with itunes 9.
Looking for any insight or similar experiences.
    Thank you for your time.

I haven't had the issues of iTunes freezing, but yet one more example of iTunes issues on a Win7 64 bit OS. I have NUMEROUS sync issues when trying to sync only my music on Win7 64bit OS. After I close iTunes, there is ALWAYS a small iTunes window open advising it is "backing up" but the main iTunes window is closed, the iPhone4 does not indicate it is 'syncing' and the only way to get rid of it is to kill it in task manager.
Some of the errors I receive in iTunes when syncing are:
    1. Some of the items were NOT copied to iPhone "iPhone" because one ore more errors occured.
    2. Attempting to copy to the disk "iPhone" failed. An internal device error occured.
    3. The iPhone "iPhone" can NOT be synced. An unknown error occured (0xE8004006).
    4. The iPhone "iPhone" can not be synced. The required file can not be found.
    5. The iPhone "iPhone" can not be synced. A duplicate filename was specified.
    6. The iPhone "iPhone" can not be synced. An internal device error occured.
These errors keep appearing one after the other.
I have fully uninstalled iTunes and ALL Apple programs.
I have tried changing time zones.
I have created a new user account on same laptop and still have same issues with iTunes.
Yet iTunes works fine on a Win7 32bit operating system for me.
I just cant easily go back to that though as that old laptop is barely functional anymore, hence getting a new laptop.
But I have read many issues with iTunes freezing and sync issues, and all of them appear to be coming from 64bit OS of win7. Any help from Apple? Anyone?

  • [VIA] Via K7-266 Pro2 - System crashes if use more than 512 MB of memory

Cannot use more than 512 MB of memory or system crashes. After running without a problem for over 2 years with 1 GB of memory installed, system started intermittent crashing, generally after 5 to 30 minutes of use.  I worked with the system manufacturer's tech support and they determined that it must be a motherboard problem.  I am hoping to find another fix rather than replacing motherboard.  System details:
    MB: Via K7-266 Pro2 (MS 6380)
OS: MS Windows XP Update 1
    Bios: V3.6
I've used Norton Systemworks and Norton Anti-Virus to keep system clean, and SpyBot and Adaware to clean adware
During troubleshooting, we found that it will run with 512 MB of memory without problems, but not with the 1 GB I had installed.  My memory was 2 x 256 MB installed with the machine and 512 MB I purchased from Crucial and installed.  Computer ran over 2 years with all memory installed without a problem.  After the problem started and during troubleshooting, we found that any combination of 512 MB worked fine (either the 2 x 256 MB or the one 500MB chip), apparently in any arrangement of slots.  But as soon as I went to higher memory, I was subject intermittent crashes.
Could not ID the source of the crash.  It sometimes happened when I was working with a single program open (various programs from IE to Excel to playing at GameSpy), had multiple programs open in background, or even when computer was sitting idle with only the startup programs active.
During troubleshooting we also did a complete re-install of Windows XP, updated the bios to V3.6, and checked bios settings, but the problems persists.
What else could be the problem?

I am beginning to suspect a PSU problem.  I neglected to mention in my first post that when the system crashes, it does not freeze but has intermittent reboots.
I ran the memtest86+ test first on the two old sticks of memory then on just the one new 512 MB stick; both passed the test.  I also used the Prime95 stress test on both sets, and both ran without incident.
I used PC Alert to report CPU and case temperatures during the stress test.  The results maxed at 54 and 41 degrees respectively during the first stress test and 46 amd 39 degrees during the second test (I think part of the difference was due to a lower ambient, room temperature during the second test.)  The voltages reported during both tests were similar and were: Vcore1: 1.71v;  Vcore2: 1.26v; +5v: 4.76v; 3.3v: 3.31v; +12v: 11.60v; and -12v: 12.60v.  I am not sure if that information is meaningful, PCAlert showed all measurements as within the required range.
I periodically have cleaned the dust out of my computer, so I don't think that is the problem.
I used 2 power calculators with major differences in the reported status of the system. The test from pcpowercooling reported minimum and maximum requirements for my system (with the full 1 GB of memory installed) of 300w and 510w.  The alternate I found at jscustompcs (from a recent article about power supplies at Extreme Tech) reported a minimuum of 256w (no maximum is calculated with their tool.  The two tools had significant differences for memory, CPU, and PCI cards.  Off particular relevance to my problem was the difference in memory requirements; Pcpowercooling calculated memory requirements at 8w per 128MGB while jcustompcs used 12.5 per stick, resulting in different totals of 64w vs. 21w.  Which is right?
One item that makes me think it is not the PSU, however, is that the problem would occur with the 1 GB of memory while the system was idle, thus I was not using any of the hardware devices.  However, I never experienced the problem while using a device (e.g. DVD, CDRW, or tape drive) - either with 500MB or 1GB of memory.
    My power unit is a Power Man #FSP 300-60BTV with 300w output, including +3.3v: 28amps; +5v: 30.0 amps; +12v: 15 amps; +5vsb: 20amps; -5v: 0.3amps; -12v: 0.8amps.  It also notes max output of +3.3v and +5v of 200amps.
My system also includes a Leadtek nVidia Geforce 3 Ti400 graphics card, DVD, CDRW, HP 14 GB tape drive, 1 case fan, and 4 PCI cards (modem, network, USB2.0, and Audigy 1).  The USB card is connected only to a bus in my Dell monitor and I have not used other USB devices.
Any thoughts or suggestions?  Do I need to replace the PSU?

  • System crash due to ATI proprietary driver

    Hello,
I installed ATI driver 9.6.4 from AUR and I did a "X -configure" which didn't worked.
So I took a xorg.conf made with "X -configure" for an open-source driver and then I did "aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf" like it says in arch wiki.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that it works but when I try to do "glxgears" or "glxinfo" my system crashes (this thing happens also for "amdccle" but not always).
Also when I modprobe fglrx I receive this message but I don't think it has to do something with my problem :
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/framebuffer_blacklist.pacsave, it will be ignored in a future release.
What can I do to fix this problem?
    Thank you,

Hmm... The catalyst driver ships its own GL library that is supposed to replace the default one.  This sounds like it might be a problem with that component or an issue of it not being installed in place of the default.
That said, I couldn't even get X11 to start the last time I tried catalyst.  I switched to radeonhd and have been very happy with that decision.
By the way, you are correct that the warning message you received is unrelated to the driver issue at hand.  I just deleted that pacsave file to get rid of it.
Yes, it forces you to do "pacman -Rd libgl" before proceeding with the install; i'll try to install it from their site to see if it does the same thing ...

  • Leopard 10.5.8 or 10.5.4 System Crashes?

I need some help. I must have a corrupted file in my "User Library". How do I find it? I've tried to do a Restore and I get a message after 3 hours that says 'error cannot complete operation' or something like that. I have Time Capsule and managed to recover all my files by individually importing the proper folders, but when I tried to import my iTunes Library or my iPhoto Library (9GB- 4000 photos), it would 'Copy' the file very slowly and about half way through it would hang (the 'file count left to be copied' would stop changing and if I wait too long to try and 'Cancel Coping' the whole system crashes (I think the problem is with very, very large Folders) and I am forced to do a hard reboot with the power button. Then I am in real trouble, because it corrupts the System and I need to do a complete Restore and now it is full circle again.
I did some research with 'Apple Discussions' and discovered that the problem is most likely in my 'User Library'. I figure during 'Restore' the System sees some corrupt file(s) and refuses to copy it, and that file probably is the cause of the System Crashes. Is there anything out there that can scan my User Library for files that are corrupted or could cause problems?
I have plenty of memory (2GB). I've used 'System Profiler' and it shows that the memory is good. I've tried Restore 3 or 4 different ways with always the same result as above. I've discovered that with Time Machine, if I keep the Folder small enough (less than 4 or 5 GB) it will copy OK. But if the folder is above that limit then 'All H... Breaks Loose'.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of restore? From the Time Machine interface (the "Star Wars" display)? Restoring your entire system by booting from your Leopard Install disc and using the +Restore from Backups+ option?
and I get a message after 3 hours that says 'error cannot complete operation' or something like that.
Sorry, but we're going to need the exact message.

Do you mean copying from your backups via the Finder?

If the problem is something corrupted, it's probably something in your backups, not your user folder (on your internal HD). Try repairing the sparse bundle:
Open the Disk Utility app (in your Applications/Utilities folder).
Mount the sparse bundle by opening the TM drive in finder and double-click on the sparse bundle.
Drag the sparse bundle into Disk Utility's sidebar and do a +*Repair Disk+* (not permissions) on it.
Also, any time you do a forced-power off, you can corrupt your internal HD. So use Disk Utility to do a +*Verify Disk+* (not permissions) on it. If that shows errors, you'll have to boot from your Leopard Install disk and use it's copy of DU to repair them. Post back if you need to do this but need help.
I have plenty of memory (2GB). I've used 'System Profiler' and it shows that the memory is good.
No. System Profiler doesn't test your computer's memory. It just shows what's installed.
Do the +*Repair Disk+* and report back with the results and answers to the questions.

  • System Crashes repeatedly - hard drive issue?

I've been using my G4 933MHz with 2 internal hard drives for quite some time. I started having issues with the system crashing, while the system drive made a binding or poer up/down sound repeatedly. The drives were stacked on top of one another, so I bought a new cable and separated the 2 drives so they are now side by side. I thought maybe it was happening because they were getting too hot or something. The system worked for a few weeks, but is now back to having the same problem.
I've run both the Apple Disk utility and Tech Tool Pro and neither really come up with any problems. The Apple disk utility used to have issues seeing the drives right after a crash. Now it either sees them and says no fix needed or it doesnt see either drive at all.
Tech Tool Pro used to see both drives and all tests ran successfully. Now, I pretty much get a hardware nor supprted message each time I run it. At first I thought my system drive was the problem, but now I'm not sure. The fact that neither drive shows up in the disk utility makes me wonder if there is not some bigger problem. Both drives work perfectly fine sometimes. If I boot up a few times, they eventually show up and everything works fine for about 10-15 minutes, but eventually it crashes again.
Has anyone encountered this problem before? Or have insight into what might be wrong and how I could fix it? Or are there any other tests I can run, besides the normal hard drive tests? I'd just hate to go spend the money on a new hard drive to find out that my drives are fine and it's the system itself that is the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
By the way, the second drive is almost identical to the drive that came with the computer. I bought it from a mac dealer and it is the same brand.
    Thanks,
    Wil

They're both on the same ide cable. It's been setup this way for quite some time. One drive is setup as a master, the other as a slave. Never had any problems for the past couple of years. Issue just started about a month ago. Don't recall anything that may have triggered it. Just one night when I was sitting there, the whole thing froze. Ever since then, it has been freezing sporatically. Now it's doing it about every 2 minutes from when I get it booted up...if I can even get it to boot. Most of the time it just sits on a grey screen, then goes to the blinking folder with the system face and question mark, then after about 20 seconds of that, it eventually boots into the system drive and freezes or boots to the cd. It's completely random from what I can tell, as to which happens.

  • Mac OS 10.5.8 system crashes

Mine is a Mac Pro 1,1 with 6gb Ram, 4 cores @ 3ghz, 27" cinema display. I've had 10.5.8 installed since it was released. In the last few days I've had 3 or 4 system crashes, where it's like a blind comes down over the screen and a message says to do a hard restart on the machine. On two of those occasions when the machine comes back up there's been a dialog to send a report to Apple. I'll paste in one of those reports below.
All Apple software updates are applied. Looking through it I can't see a lot of clues as to what area the problem is in. I guess HFS is the file system, but that aside can anyone give me some help here? Does backupd refer to the Time Machine process, by any chance? I have that running all the time.
I can't pick anything that seems to trigger these crashes. I had WoW going both times, and EyeTV for the first one but not the second or third ones.

  • Imatch causes system crashes

After installing iMatch my memory seems te be fully loaded and hangs. I have a 24" early 2009 iMac with 8GB internal memory, no running other applications.
I already tried to throw away the iTunes library and startes importing the XML data again, but also the systems crashes. Then I tried te recover systems rights, also a hangup. Tried te start the save mode, no way it works. It is NOT the harddisk, because the systems starts when I login as another user.
Today I called Apple, but the won't give support on the because there is no Apple Care anymore !!! ***. The sold me iMatch last week, they screw up my system and then they sent you away with this unproper answer. I told her that I pay her salary, 4 iPhones at this house, 2 iPads, iMac, Macbook Pro, Apple TV, Macbook and the only thing Apple produces is a simple answer while referring to internal procedures.
Who can help me? I live in Amersfoort, Holland.
I install 10.7.3 and I hope that the bugs are sneaky solved by this update.....

This definitely does not sound like iTunes Match, suggest the following:
    1.  Make a Secure Backup of your Song files;
    2.  Restart computer from cold;
    3.  Re-install latest version of iTunes;
    4.  Start iTunes with Option key held down - select option to create new library;
    5.  Import your Song files from your secure backup into your new library.
At this point you should have a stable fully functioning system.  From here, take a further secure backup of the full library, incldung the Song files - start iTunes Match - allow the 3-step process to complete (can take from few hours to few days).  At this point you can begin to enable further devices, suggesting starting with computers and moving onto ipod / ipad / iphone etc.
Do let us know how it works out.

  • System crashes on clicking bc- bsp- sap node in SICF

    Hi all
I was trying to change the logon settings for a BSP application. when i clicked the bc->bsp->sap node in the transaction SICF, the system crashed with a exeception
    a popup window displays

thanks for ur reply. i checked the oss note and downloaded the latest patch level 20. the note which has the instructions for installing patches for SAP Frontend says to just click the exe file to install in standalone applications. when i tried to execute it, it asks to choose a program and i selected the sapgui for windows but nothing happens afterward.
can you please help me regarding this? am i missing any intermediate procedure?
