System Crash on every render!   _CS6

just bought a brand new Mac Pro. 12 core (2012 5,1) that crashes every single time i render anything in AE CS6 using the queue. i've worked in these exact same project files on my old quad core (3,1) and had no problems whatsoever. i'm literally opening the same files.
if i activate multiprocessing in preferences *at all* my entire system will crash after every render in AE. i've tried several settings from 80% dedicated to AE all the way to 80% dedicated to "other apps" and everything in between. the only way to render out a project file using the queue is to first turn off multiprocessing. which obviously causes render times that remind me of the 90's.
i've found quite a few people in different forums (including here) experiencing the same issue on the newer multi core machines. i've heard theory's but wow, this seems to be a tough one.
the funny thing is i can work in AE with 50gb assigned to it and the other 14 to the system (and let me tell you it SCREAMS!) but i HAVE to turn off multiprocessing and restart before rendering anything? i've read about rumors with quicktime (specifically H.264 codec) and using v7 as opposed to X but i render from other software with the exact same codecs and no issues at all. and in fact it doesn't matter what codec i use to render from AE. same result. kaboom!
as far as specifics, like i said i'm working with the exact same files with the exact same plugins i created on my 2008 mac pro and never had an issue at all. also i 'fresh installed' CS6 and everything for that matter. no copying from the old system. those wondering about having 2 GPU's, that was my first test. pulling one at a time and seeing if that made a difference. nothing other than some performance stuff (not related but really great results .. if you want to message me i'll fill you in). checked the crash report, not memory (crucial brand). and i REALLY want to point out, it's not just AE that crashes it's the entire OS. not a kernel panic but everything just freezes and i have to hard restart using the power button.
is there a workaround anyone has found yet?
i tried using dynamic link to render in Premiere but it didn't recognize one of the plugins used and rendered without it.
for those who might have set-up questions.
64 GB memory - Crucial
3 internal Crucial 500 GB SSD's. 1TB Western Digital running the OS
ATI 5770 & Nvidia Quadro 4000 (i've tested every combination with regards to this to eliminate it as a possibility)
After Effects CS6 [11.0.2.11]
quicktime X and 7 installed

Figured it out! *fingers crossed
While troubleshooting to further narrow possible causes I imported the AE Comp using dynamic link in Premiere. For the record it rendered using QT/264 just fine.
But there was a clue in the .mov file when I viewed/tested the results! One of the plugins used was disappearing a reappearing throughout the scene. [Plexus 2.0.6, by Rowbyte]. That prompted me to go back to AE and as my grandpa would say "fiddle around with some stuff".
I won't bore you all with the details but I finally just created a new project and started from scratch. Everything is working fine now. Actually better than fine, this thing is flying! I have NEVER seen AE run so fast. I dropped geometry in there, applied Plexus, added cameras, DOF & some animation and it's playing back in real time without caching! Attaching my settings:)
(it appears AE is using both GPU's?)

  • AE CS3 Crashes after every render with Apple ProRes 422 HQ

I'm rendering some green screen shots with composited backgrounds (short clips, only 10-20 seconds max) and After Effects will crash after every render of footage that has been exported from Final Cut to Apple Pro Res 422 HQ codec. The original footage was Sony EX1 codec, but as I say - was converted before importing into AE.
It will also not let me do batch renders, and will only get a few seconds in to the render. After every time it crashes, it tells me that it saved a copy of the render, and then usually gives me a message about how AE quit unexpectedly and I have the option of reporting or relaunching.
I have 12 Gb of Ram in my MacPro with 2x3.2 Ghz Quad-Core Xeon processors and the latest OS.
AE behaves normally when i animate some Illustrator or Photoshop files and render to various codecs and will not crash. Any suggestions?

Animation at best quality is lossless so you can't get any better than that for the bit depth. The only problem with Animation Codec is that the files are big. I try and use lossless codecs for all of my interim renders. I only use compression when I'm doing the final renders.

  • 2012 Macbook Pro System Crash: Adobe Premiere Render

I have had about 10 crashes when trying to render different Adobe Premiere Pro videos. I took it in to BestBuy and they ran a diagnostic on it and said it was fine and suggested I reboot the computer............
I was wondering if anyone had any similar issues or if anyone from apple would have any idea what is wrong.
Below is a picture of the error message that comes up after the computer freezes and cuts to black.

  • Every time I try to play the video ads for iOS 7, the system crashes and I get a "Safari website quit unexpectedly" message.  I have an iMac 23", 3.06 Intel Core 2 duo.

I have an iMac 23", 3.06 Intel Core 2 duo.  Whenever I try to play YouTube videos, the system crashes and I get a "Safari quit unexpectedly" message.
I know there are Apple vs YouTube issues, but the same thing happens when I try to play video ads from the Apple site.
The computer is 4 yrs old- this problem started a couple of months ago.  No major changes, just updated as available.
    Any suggestions....?

I don't have any Safari extensions that I know of.  I didn't install any anti-virus.
This is on the error message when it comes up.  I went to the WebProcess application in Time Machine and tried to restore it to one year ago, but it didn't fix the problem.  As I recall, this began about the time Apple and YouTube parted ways- whether that is coincidence or not...
    /System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari/Webkit2.framework/WebProcess.app/Content s/MacOS/WebProcess
Thanks for taking the time to look at this.  I really appreciate the effort.  I'm a amatuer at this, I'm afraid.

  • Complete System Crash

    Hello
Currently since around September I have experiancing complete freeze of the system. I have tried many different ways to try and diagnose the problem which it reaches this state such as changing ttys and attempting to connect through ssh but with no avail which ends up resulting in a forced reboot.
This only appears to happen when I have a game open with wine (WoW/ CS:GO.. or yet to experiance a crash with other wine apps) while using dual screen, I have taken out one of the monitors for a LAN for a couple of days, which I have never recieved this crash (and this crash happens every 1 - 3 dayish at a time). I have used KDE in the past and now recently using Openbox and the problem still persists. So to me this could be a problem with Wine while using Dual Screen, but I am unsure. I have asked a fellow (more knowledgeable) Archer to enlighten me on my problem which he stated it could be an Nvidia driver problem which I will use nouveau soon to see if there are any changes... but I would like to know if any of you could also help me with this?
I may also note before hand that I have had this dual monitor setup since I have installed Arch and have been playing the same games without problems untill this has suddenly sparked up months later after installation...
My system is also updated by -Syu every couple of days.
Here is a picture after the crash.

I am really stuck here.. Suppose I will try disabling the monitor for now and see if that makes any difference..
EDIT :: I have attempted to use the nouveau driver but apart from loading the desktop interface nothing particually displayed properly and / or crashed.

Okay so my phone crashes approximately every 30 seconds. I have tried resetting it by DPU as well as on the phone itself.  Once in awhile i get an error message about unknown error 1.  If i look at the diagnosis or if runs on itunes i get the following.  When I called the support at AT&T they think the phone is shot and it is a hardware thing but i have a hard time believing that when it happened when I sync'd it to my computer.  It did get progressively worse though, at first it crashed not that often and then got worse.  So restores are failing, recovery, everything.  Anyone run into this?

  • System crashes when i use any input field after installing Maverick

    Hello all.
I have a 2010 macbook air, and have just installed Maverick OS.
Now every time i go to any input field to type in a web address or apple id, the system crashes
and re-boots. Tried to alter keyboard properties nothing works.
I presume i will have to do a factory re-set, because i can not load any updates because I am asked
for apple ID, which i cant enter because computer crashes... Oh right i mentioned that already ;)
    Help advice welcome!
    Rgds from frustrated in Sweden!!!!

There was an issue similar to this that was resolved with DAQmx 9.3 update. If you haven't done so already, update the driver to 9.3 and try again. If not, try opening an example (like, say, Hardware I/O->DAQmx->Analog Meas->Voltage->Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk-Analog Start.vi), and try running that standard example. If the example works and you still have difficulty with your application, could you post information about your project and what navigational steps you take to make the error occur? Try also opening the VI inside and outside of a project (this would diagnose a symptom of the issue resolved by DAQmx 9.3).

  • System crashes after waking; problems with distnoted, graphics chip error

I am running 10.3.9 on a Dual 1 GHz G4, with 1.5 GB SDRAM, a GeForce4 Ti 4600 LCD display, and a LaCie 1394 external drive. I have recently started to put my computer to sleep at night, rather than leaving it running 24 hours a day (I also installed sleepwatcher, to allow me to put my computer to sleep remotely, and anacron, to allow the nightly system maintenance jobs to continue to run). This was working fine for about a week, but for the last two days, when I woke my computer up in the morning, I got kernel panics after a few minutes. First some aspects of the display would start to get mangled (e.g. strange lines appearing, some text that I typed not showing up, icons in the dock looking speckled, etc.), then some applications would stop responding, and then a minute or so later I would get the feared kernel panic message ("You need to restart your computer" in multiple languages).
This problem only seems to occur after the computer has been asleep for a long time (I've only experienced it after it's been asleep for 12 hours or so, and not when it's only been asleep for a few minutes). The only thing I can think of that I've changed in the last few days is an AppleScript that mounts my external LaCie drive (using "do shell script diskutil mountDisk ...") before backing up my files - using FoldersSynchronizer - then putting my computer to sleep (before I was never UNmounting this drive, so I didn't have to mount it in the AppleScript - I was still using the script to back up the files then put the computer to sleep).
I have tried running Apple's Disk Utility (both to repair the permissions, and to repair the disk), DiskWarrior (to rebuild my startup disk), fsck, and TechTool Deluxe. None seemed to reveal any major errors except the "Surface Scan" in TechTool, which failed, presumably because of media defects in the disk (but my understanding is that fixing this would require reformatting my disk, something that I only want to do as a last resort).
My system.log shows the following, from the time I woke my computer to the time I restarted (I've highlighted some suspicious-looking lines). It seems like the problem might either be occurring in distnoted, or with the graphics chip. Any thoughts on how I can determine the cause of the problem?

Yesterday's crash looks similar, except that the Graphics chip error occurs 13 seconds before the distnoted error (rather than after the distnoted error), and rather than a crash of "MouseWorks Background" there was a crash of "WindowServer". Any thoughts on what might be causing this problem? I will continue to test the effects of changing various aspects of my configuration, but since I can only get the problem to occur once a day (after my computer has been asleep for a while), it might take me a few days or weeks to track the problem down through blind trial-and-error.
    Thanks!
Dual 1 GHz G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   1.5 GB SDRAM, GeForce4 Ti 4600 LCD display, LaCie 1394 external drive

After a little experimentation, I've managed to narrow the problem down a little, but still haven't resolved it. My computer still crashes almost every time I wake it up after a long sleep (multiple hours). Things work fine for a few minutes, but then some aspects of the display start to get mangled (e.g. strange lines appearing, text becoming distorted, etc.), then some applications start crashing and the system hangs. Sometimes I get a kernel panic, but not always - but I always need to reboot to solve the problem.
The errors in the system log files differ from crash to crash, but the one thing that seems to be consistent is that I get a "Graphics chip error". Is this usually a hardware problem, or can it be due to a software problem? Sometimes this graphics chip error is the first error to occur, although sometimes an application will crash a few seconds before the graphics chip error is recorded in the system.log.
In my original post, I suggested that the problem might be due to an AppleScript that mounts an external drive. I have since determined that this is NOT the cause of the problem.
Any thoughts on what might be going on?

  • Finder/System Crashing OS10.9.4

    Hi folks,
started yesterday out of the blue. finder windows were bilking on and off every minute or so, then, periodically, entire system crashed. Got that "something happened" message that usually indicates kernel issue.
I uninstalled Symantec, quit google drive (which was a "not responding" process according to Activity monitor), and rebooted from restore partition and repairs permissions (Run Macaroni, so this is usually up to date).
Now, the finder windows no longer blink on and off, but system still crashing every 10 mn or so.  Here's the Console report for latest kernel.
Advice, oh kind and knowledgable people?THX!

    Thx Linc,
reinstalled the system software from the restore volume, then booted in safe mode. Computer crashed again. Seems to be doing it like clockwork every 9 min and 4-5 secs.
Also, I don't seem to be able to launch Messages. Tells me theres a problem and I must quit and restart it, which I can't do. Don't know if the two issues are related.
I don't use chrome. Google drive, set to launch on boot, seems to be hanging. Activity Monitor reports it "not responding"  same for iCloud Photos.
    Now what?

  • System Crashes repeatedly - hard drive issue?

I've been using my G4 933MHz with 2 internal hard drives for quite some time. I started having issues with the system crashing, while the system drive made a binding or poer up/down sound repeatedly. The drives were stacked on top of one another, so I bought a new cable and separated the 2 drives so they are now side by side. I thought maybe it was happening because they were getting too hot or something. The system worked for a few weeks, but is now back to having the same problem.
I've run both the Apple Disk utility and Tech Tool Pro and neither really come up with any problems. The Apple disk utility used to have issues seeing the drives right after a crash. Now it either sees them and says no fix needed or it doesnt see either drive at all.
Tech Tool Pro used to see both drives and all tests ran successfully. Now, I pretty much get a hardware nor supprted message each time I run it. At first I thought my system drive was the problem, but now I'm not sure. The fact that neither drive shows up in the disk utility makes me wonder if there is not some bigger problem. Both drives work perfectly fine sometimes. If I boot up a few times, they eventually show up and everything works fine for about 10-15 minutes, but eventually it crashes again.
Has anyone encountered this problem before? Or have insight into what might be wrong and how I could fix it? Or are there any other tests I can run, besides the normal hard drive tests? I'd just hate to go spend the money on a new hard drive to find out that my drives are fine and it's the system itself that is the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
By the way, the second drive is almost identical to the drive that came with the computer. I bought it from a mac dealer and it is the same brand.
    Thanks,
    Wil

They're both on the same ide cable. It's been setup this way for quite some time. One drive is setup as a master, the other as a slave. Never had any problems for the past couple of years. Issue just started about a month ago. Don't recall anything that may have triggered it. Just one night when I was sitting there, the whole thing froze. Ever since then, it has been freezing sporatically. Now it's doing it about every 2 minutes from when I get it booted up...if I can even get it to boot. Most of the time it just sits on a grey screen, then goes to the blinking folder with the system face and question mark, then after about 20 seconds of that, it eventually boots into the system drive and freezes or boots to the cd. It's completely random from what I can tell, as to which happens.

  • How to handle common system crashes in SAP Business One until you upgrade to SAP Business One 9.1?

SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release in this year with many feature enhancements in various areas, such as in Business Logic and Localization, Reporting and Analytics, Lifecycle Management and Support, SDK Features for extensibility, Infrastructure and Architecture, etc. , with this upgrade every organization using SAP Business One is also expecting that some previous System Crash problems associated with SAP Business One 8.8 or 9.0, will also be resolved with the advent of 9.1.
But until 9.1 is available in GA, we have to know and follow some procedures to avoid this situation. Through this blog we have addressed ‘How to handle common system crashes in SAP Business One until you upgrade to SAP Business One 9.1’. In below link you can have a look that what common system crash issues been reported and what solution given by the community members:

  • When i try to load certain page, the system crashed and the bottom panel states " stopped" but when I close and open firefox again,it can't and I get this message that says my firefox is still running and to open the browser i need to restart the compu

while browsing suddenly the system crashed and the bottom panel says " stopped".When closed and re-opened, I got a prompt that says firefox is still running and i have to close to open again or have to restart the computer but it doesn't work
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == just happened

You get message "firefox is still running" and computer restart doesn't help you. Try the advice below.
Make sure Firefox isn't running (end firefox.exe process in Task Manager or restart computer)
    Find your profile folder
    C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
find file "parent.lock" in it and delete it (the file is empty, its function is to signify to Firefox whether it's already open or not).
Then try to open Firefox again. Will it start or not? What will it say?

  • MDNSReporter causing system crash

Ever since upgrading to 10.5.7, I've had frequent, daily system crashes. I did an archive and install from the disks, then used the combo updater to 10.5.7. The console logs show that just prior to every crash, I have a lot of activity regarding the mDNSReporter for a few seconds. Any suggestions on what might be causing this? Currently I think it may be Little Snitch (2.1.4) interacting with something else, so i plan to disable it for a while and see if I stop crashing. Logs are posted below.

    Shams Shirley,
The link you gave points directly to the one I gave you.
If you follow [the link I gave you|http://openradar.appspot.com/radar?id=3406], you'll see that it gives a diff to apply as a workaround. One other way to make the problem in mDNSReporter go away is to put your Mac on the internet side of your router.
You should know that [portmap|http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man8/portmap .8.html] is built into OS X, as is the [kill|http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man1/kill.1. html] command.
Yes, finding and removing the conflicting app that opens up UDP ALL-SYSTEMS.MCAST.NET:5350 with SO_REUSEPORT would take care of the issue. What do you see when you run [netstat|http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man1/netstat .1.html] with the -g (multicast) switch?

  • How to set workflow to prevent system crash?

    Hi All,
I have created workflow to run every time that a customer is changed and then call customized program in background mode. 1 Change will trigger 1 workflow to create 1 file.
the workflow works fine with small amount of transaction. However, last time when we update 40000 customers using mass change (Transaction XD99). it caused the system crash. It used up all dialog process and background process.
      How can I prevent that?
    Thanks,
    Phon

Now here the condition is if the email id is not found you want to set the running step into error state right?
    try to do like this
    1. Set a flag as Email_Not_Found if this flag is set to X then pass the same value back to workflow conatiner and in the workflow tempalte define a condition step by using the same flag, if it is X then you raise a exception, Or you can simply loggically delete the workflow instance ,
    2. If it is not X then the current running step should pass X back to workflow container and it should get completed successfully....
    3. Here Instaead of raise exception, my advise is to simply Cancel the workitem by using the Process Control step, check the above mentioned article for more information about Process control step....
