System crashes - I don't what else can I try...

I have a Macbook Pro, 2.53Ghz, 250Gb and 4Mb - Lion (recently updated) and I have been having several crashes and I can figure out what is causing it, here is a short description of what I have already tried (based on several readings on other threads about the spinning wheel of death)
- Hardware checks using the boot disk: no problem was found
- Disk utility check/repair: permissions were repaired
- Currently, I am running in Safe Mode and, although my computer is overall much slower, no spinning wheel of death (yet)
- Should the issue be related to my recent update to Lion? I don't think so, because one of the things that motivated my upgrade was exactly because I was have the same problem with Snow Leopard.
- I have a Time Capsule that I also use for my Time Machine backups
- Before my update, I turn off the auto backup from Time Machine and my problems became less frequent (always randomly...)
- I have also deleted all recent apps that I had downloaded from app store - problems still persists...
- I tried an app called OnyX, which helped me running several maintenance commands (I am not familiar to use the command line...). This app does not work with Lion though.

Just a guess (I can't really read the logs), but do you still have your original hard drive? If so, I wonder if it may have started to go south. It might be worth running SMART Utility to see if anything shows up:

SMART Utility seems to be a bit more critical than Disk Utility, and may be able to detect impending drive failure sooner. You can download the demo and run it several times for free.

Unfortunately that is not possible any longer. My advice is to take the update. You'll have to at some point or either you'll accidentally accept it. The HD voice and video works well between compatible phones. And, if you run into a problem, better now than later.

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods." Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

AV Cable doesn't work..what else can I try?

I bought an iPod AV Cable so I could play picture slideshows on my TV. But I get sound from my iPod on my TV (with the TV set to "input 2") but no picture. I changed the picture setting on my iPod to "TV out" and I also tried "TV ask" but none of these do anything and the iPod does NOT ask me anything.... what else can I try, none of the online help topics address this. I'm sure it must be something so very simple. Does anyone have any ideas. Clearly, I don't know what I'm doing here...but if I can't fix it I'll have to return the silly cable to the store. What a shame that would be! Thanks so much for any help anyone can give me, I really appreciate it.

In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.
Will either of those install?
It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Have you tried a 'hard reset'. You do not lose any of your data on the iPad.
Here are the steps:
    Press the Power Buton and the Home button simultaneously.
    Continue to hold down both buttons until the iPad shuts off
    Release the buttons when the Apple Logo appears.
Also, make sure your iPad is not in airplane mode. Settings, Airplane mode is the first option under settings,

Have you checked ALL the settings including the port assignments? Easiest way to get those back to is to delete the email account from the iPad then redo the email account. Usually the ISP providing the email account will have instructions on their web site.
