System Failure - please help
I had the black screen with System Failure at the top.
System Failure cpu=0 code 00000001 (corrupt stack)
It also said Memory access exception (1,0,0).
Can this have anything to do with my internet service. I have been having trouble with my Mac ever since my cable company switched to roadrunner.
The system failure occured when my mac tried to open java.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Could be that's a kernel panic. Does the same screen reappear after you
press and hold the power button down for several seconds to power it off,
and then press it after awhile to restart?
If it is a kernel panic, you could try troubleshooting to find out. It takes
time and procedures outline a path to test the possibility here:
resolving kernel panics
I'm wondering if some questionable RAM in the user accessed slot is part
of this issue, because it has been known to happen. There may be other
hardware causes of this kind of symptom; including logic board failure.
You can see if your computer can startup from the included Apple Hardware
Test disc (should be a CD or maybe on the bootable DVD if your system came
with all the OSX system stuff on DVDs) to see if error messages
show. Not sure if any startup keyboard combos could help this;
maybe there's a reset that could purge corrupt data.
Hopefully it's something simple, like carefully removing the user-access
RAM and seeing if it runs normally. Check out the kernel panic info.

How to modify below simple chat system?Please help!
Dear,
I have a ChatServer.java files as below. It is a round robin chating system. There are two client chatting. Now I want to modify below file that allow the discussion to keep going until one of the user input is "BYE" in uppercase without any preceding and trailing characters. After one user input of "BYE" will terminates everyone else including the server. How do I modifty? Please help!
import java.io.*;
import java.net.*;
public class ChatServer.java
// Valid PORT_NUMBER ranges from 1 to 65,535. However the numbers from 1 to 1023
// are reserved, for example, 80 is reserved for http.
private final static int PORT_NUMBER = 3030;
public static void main (String[] args) throws IOException
Socket socket1, socket2;
DataInputStream dataIn1, dataIn2;
DataOutputStream dataOut1, dataOut2;
String line;
System.out.println ( "\r\n-- Server Started --\r\n" );
// We need to create a ServerSocket at a free port number.
ServerSocket server = new ServerSocket ( PORT_NUMBER );
// Calling the accept method, the server waits for a client to make a TCP connection.
socket1 = server.accept ();
socket2 = server.accept ();
// ServerSocket is only needed to handle connection request. Once the connection
// is made, the ServerSocket can be closed even the sockets remain open.
// Normally, the ServerSocket won't be closed this early because real applications
// are designed to handle arbitrarily many clients. However we only handle two.
server.close ();
try
// There should be a pair of input and output streams for each socket.
// The output stream of the server corresponds to the input stream of the client.
// Therefore if we send a line on the output stream, the client should read
// the line in the corresponding input stream.
dataIn1 = new DataInputStream (new BufferedInputStream (socket1.getInputStream ()));
dataOut1 = new DataOutputStream (new BufferedOutputStream (socket1.getOutputStream ()));
dataIn2 = new DataInputStream (new BufferedInputStream (socket2.getInputStream ()));
dataOut2 = new DataOutputStream (new BufferedOutputStream (socket2.getOutputStream ()));
for ( int i=0; i < 3; i++)
// Read a line from the client 1
line = dataIn1.readUTF ( );
// Write a line to client 2
dataOut2.writeUTF ( line );
dataOut2.flush ( );
// Show the line on the server's screen
System.out.println ( "\r\nClient 1: " + line);
System.out.flush( );
// Read a line from the client 2
line = dataIn2.readUTF ( );
// Write a line to client 1
dataOut1.writeUTF ( line );
dataOut1.flush ( );
// Show the line on the server's screen
System.out.println ( "Client 2: " + line);
System.out.flush( );
catch (IOException ex)
throw ex;
finally
System.out.println ("\r\n-- Shutdown --");
socket1.close ();
socket2.close ();In this section here do this:
The chat client 1:
// Show the line on the server's screen
String printTheLine="\r\nClient 1:" + line;
System.out.println (printTheLine);
System.out.flush( );
if(printTheLine.equals("\r\nClient 1:BYE"){
//exit prog
}Client 2
// Show the line on the server's screen
String printTheLine="\r\nClient 2:" + line;
System.out.println (printTheLine);
System.out.flush( );
if(printTheLine.equals("\r\nClient 2:BYE"){
//exit prog
}All you have to do is exit the prog. I am not sure if you need in the .eguals part (when you are comparing the strings), the \r\n. Anyway, once you put the code to exit your prog in the if conditionals, it will exit if the output on the screen looks like:
Client 1:BYE or
Client 2:BYE
If this helps, could I have some duke dollars?

Yes. Or, if your Mac came with Snow Leopard, call AppleCare. They can send duplicates for a nominal fee.
Don't assume you can or wish to upgrade to Lion immediately; make sure all your hardware and apps will be compatible first. -

Hi,
I'm having a really hard time here.
I want to update my daughters intel from Tiger to Snow Leopard for her to make her life (and mine) easier.
When I try install the OS, I keep getting an error message that OSX can't be installed on this Mac.
What's going on?
Never had so much trouble before.
Please help.
Thanks so muchYou're welcome. Please note that it is a little more difficult to obtain Snow Leopard these days. Please see the post by Kappy at the link below.

G5 "System Failure" freeze - HELP!
Three or four times in the last day or two, my G5 has been displaying a very strange 'freeze' whereby the following happens:
1. Everything on monitor freezes - cursor, keyboard, entire screen even the clock (usually keeps on ticking) Not in any particular program or movement.
2. Unable to Force-Quit. Must shut down manually from CPU's Power button
3. If I don't power down, the jet engine sound from the cpu starts revving up within 10 min. (no hi temp noted, dust has been cleaned out)
4. New today, I was able to get about an hour's work in before the freeze. THIS time, for the first time, the following message appeared upper left-hand corner if screen: (I hope that I 'got' which were zeros and which were capitol Os)

Standing by (really),
Catherine SmithHi Catherine,
Hmmm the pmap is the Physical Map of all the HW, Caches, Virtual Memory, etc, so it could be CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, just about anything.
Boot off your original G5 Install Disk while holding down Option/alt key to select AHT, then run the extended Apple Hardware Test.
The Memory test can really only be trusted if it finds a problem, not if it doesn't find a problem.

When I connect cRIO-9073 with my Win7(64-bit) laptop via ETHERNET cable, it is not detected in "Measurement & Automation Explorer".
I have LabVIEW-2011 installed on my laptop.
Please help..
Thank you....Is this a new controller? First time connecting? Does the controller have an IP address set?
The Windows firewall may interfere with detecting a cRIO if it's the first time. Make sure your fire wall is off and try MAX again. -

Hard Disk Failure - Please Help
Hi,
I have a HP probook 4730s. The laptop is 13 months old and the warranty has expired. The HDD has been laging lateley and also the system restore took, the last time it was ran took longer as usual, now at the startup i receive a message that the disk needs to be replaced. I ran several diagnostics on the disk and it found 2000+ bad sectors. I will go and buy a new HDD and replace it but i have some questions about how to make the new HDD function as the old one did. The system came with preinstalled windows home premium and there was no restore CD (DVD) that came with it.
Please advise me on the following if possible:
- The existing HDD is 640GB 5400 from Hitachi. Does it matter what disk i buy. I was thinking of buying a 750GB, 5400, 8MB, SATA II 300
- The existing HDD has 3 Partitions. C - main, D - HP_RESTORE with the system restore image on it, and E- HP_Tools. How do i reformat the new drive to have the same configuration, since there are obviouseley some functions connected to the BIOS utilities. My wish is to make 2 paritions. One main 80GB for the system and the other with the remaining space for data. Can i just backup the HP_RESTORE parititon (D) with the system restore files to the second partition and run it from there.
- The system came with preinstalled windows home premium OEM i figure. Is there any way to make a clean install of just windows from the system restore file and not to install all the other HP application but just to chose the ones i would like or download them from the HP website and install them subsequently.
- How do i get the windows home premium key and where can i find the right version of windows home premium to do a clean install.
That i think about sums it up. I would like to thank anyone in advance who can help me to resolve this.
Regards!
IgorYou should have a Windows 7 OEM Key Code on the bottom of the laptop or inside the battery bay. The Key Code will work with a Windows 7 disk from Microsoft. I think with 200 bad sectors on the hard drive you are going to have a hard time getting any large block of data off the old drive without corruption so I would not try to clone the old disk to the new or try to work from the old recovery partition. If you can get to the old drive's data there should be an "HP" or "swsetup" folder at the root of the C:\ drive which has the original apps and drivers and you might try to save that. If the system can still be booted on the old drive you might try the HP Recovery Manager and see if you can still burn the recovery disk set it allows you to make. Yours should have the "modern" version that will give you the option of a factory image recovery or an OS only recovery. But with that many bad sectors I am skeptical you can get useable recovery disks off it.

System disabled please help...
Hi, I purchased a laptop today and went to install windows on it and it came up asking me for a password as soon as i boot up, now it says system disabled 68263278, Can anybody help please.
Thanks in advanceHow old is the unit? If you just purchased it you should take it back to the vendor if you have to install the operating system yourself. If you bought it from a private entity, it may be stolen and the Lo-Jac service has started and disabled the system but the subscription has expired. Find out the background of the unit and get the honest facts. If all is legit, you can ind the information here. If is'nt, all you do to get this unit online will be fraudlent and will eventually cause you grief.

Weblogic8.1 and mysql connection failure, please help
Pardon me for repeating this topic. I have spent 2 days on this but still ended
up with failure.
The similar configuration works very well under wls7.0.
It should not be a problem of jdbc driver or its classpath setting, since the
system console say "successful..."
But when I try to access jsp and servlets, it always throws execeptions. All projects
run successfully under wls7.0 don't work.
Please give me some advice, thanks in advance.
The following is my connection pool setting found in config.xml:
<JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
Name="MySQLConnectionPool" Password="{3DES}aMsyd4ZSbSg="
Properties="user=root" Targets="cgServer" URL="jdbc:mysql://localhost/userdb"/>
<JDBCTxDataSource EnableTwoPhaseCommit="true"
JNDIName="MySQLDataSource" Name="MySQLDataSource"
PoolName="MySQLConnectionPool" Targets="cgServer"/>
The screen shot of the exceptions is as below:

>1. This assumes that you have downloaded the mysql database and configured it and started
it by running mysqld. In my case, I installed it in d:/mysql.
2. It also assumes that you have configured a user on the database.
I configured a user "test" with password "test" on the database "mysql" on "localhost" using
mysql --user=root mysql
grant all privileges on *.* to test@localhost identified by 'test' with grant option;
3. It assumes that you have downloaded the Connector/J zip file and pulled out the jar file.
In my case, I renamed it and copied it to d:/mysql/lib/jdbc.jar.
4. It is absolutely necessary that you put the jar file in your server classpath. It won't
work without doing that. Then I booted the server.
5. I used the WLS 8.1 console to configure the connection pool and associated data source.
In my case, they look like the following:
<JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"
Name="mysql" Password="test"
Properties="user=test"
Targets="myserver"
TestTableName="SQL SELECT 1"
URL="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mysql"/>
<JDBCTxDataSource
JNDIName="myDataSource"
Name="myDataSource"
PoolName="mysql"
Targets="myserver"/>
Note that the console uses the old class name for the driver. There is a new class name but
the old name still exists and we figured it would cover folks using the old and new classes.
6. I'll attach a client program that looks up the datasource associated with the connection pool,
gets a connection, and does some stuff with the connection.
The user/password combination must have security priviledges in WLS to reserve a connection
on the pool.
The code for this program is taken almost entirely from the WLS JDBC documentation.
This is all pretty standard stuff.

Name="MySQLConnectionPool" Password="{3DES}aMsyd4ZSbSg="
Properties="user=root" Targets="cgServer" URL="jdbc:mysql://localhost/userdb"/>
<JDBCTxDataSource EnableTwoPhaseCommit="true"
JNDIName="MySQLDataSource" Name="MySQLDataSource"
PoolName="MySQLConnectionPool" Targets="cgServer"/>
The screen shot of the exceptions is as below:

Iphoto unexpected failure, please help!
Hi,
I'd really appreciate some help, my iphoto has suddenly stopped opening, and show an error message.
I have tried some of the previous suggestions, such as:
Terminal, run sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force
But that hasn't worked at all.
I'm on holiday at the moment, so can't regularly access the internet to reinstall mountain lion. Is there any other way around this?
Thanks so much, I am not a great mac user, so please can any advice be explained in laymans terms. Thanks!!
The error message is this:

So, let's try repair it.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

"Firmware Update Failure", please help
Okay so my brand new 20GB iPod photo refuses to have the systems software loaded onto it, everytime I try and use the iPod Updater (yes I have the newest version) it says: "Firmware Update Failure. Disk write error." I've got it connected with USB 2.0, it shows up as a removable storage device in my computer but doesn't show up at all in iTunes.
So if any of you know what's going on please give me a hand.JamesBond said:
That means that USB2 port is not compatible with the iPod?
I don't think so. More along the lines that the iPod is not USB 2.0 compliant, or properly certified, or it has a bug somewhere.
Basicly if a device is USB 2.0 compliant, it will work with a USB 1.1 port, just very slowly.
from www.usb.org, if a "device" has passed the certification and has earned the proper "High Speed USB" logo http://www.usb.org/developers/compliance/logo/usbhs125.gif it also HAS to work with a USB 1.0 port otherwise it won't earn the logo.
Now, this begs the question... has the iPod passed it's tests and earned it's High Speed USB certification logo? I can't find any of Apples products that have the logo, can someone point me to them?
Apple is a memeber of the USB Implementers Forum, Inc (and only has one person that is a member).
You can find some good information about USB at www.usb.org. Specificly that it is no longer refered to as USB 2.0, but as "High Speed USB" (just semantics)

I attempted to upgrade the firmware on my E70 and the update program stopped halfway through. Now my phone won't turn on. It simply brings up the Nokia logo, flashes it a few times, then brings it up again. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
