System Help! Some stop running
SOME SERVICES STOP AUTOMATICALLY IF THEY ARE NOT IN USE BY OTHER SERVICES OR PROGRAMS
Some of the services are actually configured to stop when not used (by design behavior). So it does not seem like it is a problem unless you see side effects of having these services stopped. Maybe you can give us a little more background.

i have the latest (10.7) itunes installed on a 64 bit Windows 7 based system. Up unitil today I had NO problem running the TV shows that I have downloaded from I Tunes.
Today it stopped running all videos. It loads the information in the top box about length & name. An error message pops saying "an error has caused I tunes to stop working". "Windows will check for a solution and notify if therer is a solution."
Music plays fine so i know that something works on itunes.

Some apps require updating when a new operating system comes out. Check with the developers of the apps you're having problems with and see if they have an update or workaround.

When I click on the Firefox icon The page comes up white and in the middle it says "Firefox has errored and has stopped running". Then it looks to windows for a solution but finds none.
I am not a Windows 7 user, or particularly familiar with that error message but maybe it is worth looking at these articles

Update the version of your software to current and latest updated version, it will be fine.

I tunes won't open. No warning message, just the first terms agreement opens and when i agree itunes stopes running. I just wiped and reinstalled everything including windows. I updated everything fully. Deleted spybot unintalled and reintalled the newest and one older version of itunes. still nothing. I tried to delete some files that is hidden as directed by apple. I have been trading emails with customer support but it has been no help at all. I am running Windows XP. Before i wiped my computer I ran itunes with no problem, on this computer, this week.

after all the stuff I updated you about, I tried one last time to install....still didn't work...so once again I wiped my system of everything itunes and apple related

Photoshop stops running during HDR merge
Hello Photoshoppers
Hope some one has an answer..During the HDR merge I get a window that tells me that PS has stopped running..Click OK then PS shuts down . This is what I have on the issue so far ..Adobe chat help had me do all kinds of crazy stuff along with updates..The last session they had me download and open their sample pictures and try to merge them. I was infact able to merge them just fine. Hence since I was able to merge their sample pictures..there is no program issue as they see it... I can merge 2 of my pictures but no more than 2.. My pictures were taken with a Canon T2i , a tripod and remote shutter device was used.. The pictures all appear exactly the sam except for exposures.. (manual but not RAW) and were downloaded as JPEGS with the sd card).. All my pictures have a file size less than 6.mb. Adobe's sample pictures were all less than 1.mb (700 kb or so ) My computer is right out of the box Windows 7 ..64 bit..4gb Ram... PS preferances, Ram was increased to allow 96% for PS usage but did not resolve the issue..
Is there a file size limit that I havent read any where? Any one else experience, or know about this issue or have any ideas ? And yes I am new to this so don't beat me up too hard..Not to mention trying to navigate Windows 7 ..instead of XP

Message title was corrected by: PECourtejoieAre you running Merge to HDR from Bridge or Photoshop? If Bridge, then either make sure Photoshop is closed before starting, or open the 64bit Photoshop and then run Merge to HDR from Bridge. I am assuming that you are running from Bridge because it is so much easier recognising the bracketed set in Bridge. I would increase the memory setting in 64bit Photoshop to something like 80% if only to prove a point - you'll know you have plenty of resources available to work the HDR that way.
To change the settings go Edit > Preferences > Performance.
What camera are you using, and how many images in the bracketed set? I use a 1DsMK3, and 1DMK4 both usually with five frames, and my old Q9550 system with 8Gb easily coped with five x 21Mb files.
All cameras that have a AEB (Auto exposure Bracketing) feature change the shutter speed, and never the aperture. A note here: I am able to change the AEB order to run from darkest through to lightest exposure, instead of the default zero offset followed by minus offset, and finally plus offset. Having the shots in exposure order makes them much easier to find in Bridge.
Incidentally, much as I love Photoshop. it comes a poor second to HDR Soft's Photomatix with HDR processing. ACR does a better job of processing the RAW files, and Photoshop is probably better at aligning the images, but Photomatix is better at the Tone mapping side of things, and keeps getting better. I am not sure if I am aloud to post this here, but 4.2 beta2 was released yesterday, and you can use it for free, but it places watermarks on the processed image

[SOLVED] Lightzone stopped running on Arch64

Have been running Lightzone (32 bit application) from AUR on my Arch64 system with no problem. Sometime ago Lightzone stopped running (wont't even start).

My (very) limited understanding tells me that Lightzone can't find the 32 bit version of "libXi.so.6". Am I right ?
Anyway.... right or wrong, any help will be much appreciated.

Cna you provide some more precise details on the setup you had when this was working? The subVIs in the VI you attached that deal with excel do not seem to be part of the Report Generation Toolkit, which is what contains all the VIs that deal with excel. I have included a link to an example that shows how to run a macro in excel from LabVIEW. Does this example look similar to what you had implemented in this code at some point?

If you updated to LabVIEW 2011 you will need to update the Report Generation Toolkit to the 2011 version. Refer to this article for information on compatibility of LabVIEW and Report Generation Toolkit:

Performance monitor stops running
In Windows Server 2012, in Performance Monitor, I have a user-defined Data Collector Set. It is configured to sample every 2 minutes. But it stops running after taking only 3 samples. Could I please get some advice on how to find what is stopping this so
that it will run indefinitely?
Here is some more detail from the properties:
Schedule - Nothing set. I start the set running from Task Scheduler.
Stop Condition - Nothing enabled.
Log format: CSV
I don't see anything in the Application or System event logs that say anything about the performance monitor. Maybe there is another event log that I don't know about.
I have similar reports running on WS2008 machines and they don't stop running.

If you mean to run this data collector indefinitely, please try to set 1439 ((23*60) + 59 )minutes for the Overall duration in stop condition, which is 23 hours and 59 minutes total run time. Because Reports are compiled once the collector
set stops. This means we can’t let this collector just simply run forever because I will never get a report.
Please also check the option "If the task is already running, then the following rule applies: Stop the existing instance" in the related scheduled task under Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > PLA.

Java program stopped running when using JVMPI

I'm writting a very simple profiler using JVMPI. I intended to pause/continue it by sending signal, like kill -SIGUSR2 PID, to it, but whenever I did this, the java program that ran with the profiler stopped running, however the profiler kept running properly.

Here're some notes:
1)If I didn't call
jvmpi_interface->EnableEvent(JVMPI_EVENT_OBJECT_ALLOC, NULL);
in "start()" function, the java program Test ran properly after I sent signal to the process by using kill command in an command line;
or
2) If I delete "Thread.sleep(1000)" in Test.java, then whether I call
jvmpi_interface->EnableEvent(JVMPI_EVENT_OBJECT_ALLOC, NULL);
in "start()" or not, the Test program ran properly after I sent signal to the process.
It seems to be a thread dead lock, but I'm not sure. Can any body help?Thanks very much.I should strongly recommend moving from JVMPI to JVM TI if you can. The reason is that JVMPI has been deprecated since 5.0 and can not be used with Java SE 6 and newer.
Anyway, the issue you have may be due to the signal you are using. I'm not sure which operating system this is but on Linux the USR2 signal is used for the suspend/resume implementation. Have you looked at the Troubleshooting Guide or the Signal Chaining page for details on how signals are used and how to chain handlers? Another idea is to remove the signal handling code implementation and to use the data dump event. This is supported by both JVMPI and JVM TI so that you get an event (via the QUIT signal). -
Mobile Device Helper has stopped working
I have just purchased an iPhone 3Gs, I have the lastest version of iTunes (9.1) and am operating on 32-bit Windows Vista using an Acer laptop.
First, the iPhone was not recognised - so re-installed iTunes, downloaded Service Pack 2 for vista, reinstalled iTunes. Did't work. Finally found a forum that lead me to delete a problem file for Acer laptops (can't remember its name now) but then my iPhone was now recognised!
Secondly, tried to sync my windows contacts (all my old contacta list from old phone) then had syncing problems..through more forums that error message stopped but now I have a new one that I can't get past...
'Mobile Device Helped has stopped working' comes up repeatedly and will not let me to anything with iTunes as it freezes until I end task in Task manager.
I have looked into other forums that talk of deleting the Apple Mobile Device, but it doesn't seem to me to be the rigt decision as the majority of people have just had to reinstall iTunes as it wont recognise the phone without the file.
It seems that the new iTunes doesn't like Windows Vista.
Please can anyone help me get past this point before I lose the will to live!! (it's been over 5hours now!!!!)

I just launched iTunes for the first time after installing 9.1. When I connected my iPhone, iTunes told me that I needed to install a newer version of Apple Mobile Device, which entailed removing/reinstalling iTunes and AMD. I remember there being an order to which applications should be removed, so I did that, but got stuck at AMD. I wasn't able to remove it. There was no error message, it just automatically rolled back the uninstall process and quit. I did some research and saw someone recommend using the Windows Install Cleanup Utility. I used that to remove AMD, and it worked. Next on the list was Apple Application Support (?), which also could not be uninstalled by normal means. So I used WIC on that as well. iTunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, and Apple Software update I was able to remove via the Control Panel. I rebooted, reinstalled iTunes, and when it began the install process for AMD I got this message:
"Could not open key:
Unknown\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8\3F55235DF871F046A8F862841205 6EF. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
Got the same message for Apple Application Support. As a result, neither was installed.
Prior to doing any of this, I had disabled AMD in Services, which didn't help. I have since re-enabled it, and it is still running in Services, although it does not show up in the list on programs to uninstall.
After all this, I read in another forum that simply doing a Repair on AMD would solve the problem, but since I am unable to reinstall it, I cannot test it out.

Tomcat 6 stop running while Oracle XE runs

After a full day's research & work I managed to install Tomcat 6, Cocoon & Java files successfully. The following is my problem.
I have an existing Oracle XE running with Apex 3.2.
When I start Tomcat 6 it gets started fine, but in few seconds it stops running and gives the message " Tomcat servlet engine is not running, but pid file exists.". I can stop & start this, or restart this but the same problem happens again after few seconds with the same message ( I know this by checking the status). During this few seconds running I am able to access it via the browser by http://localhost:8180 ( I modified the port from 8080 to 8180). Apex uses port 8080. During this time I don't have any problem with Apex (set to run at start up).
When I stop the Oracle Database and start Tomcat 6 it works fine, it continues to run perfectly. Again when I start the database, I am unable to access Apex via port 8080 & get the message "can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8080."
Can anyone please help me?

you probably have missed a setting to migrate the tomcat to port 8180. The behaviour you describe fits to the one I'd expect for a port conflict - either service runs perfectly when he's "alone", but doesn't work if the other one started before.
You can fix this on both sides. Reconfiguration of the port your EPG hosts your APEX may be a little easier. You just have to login as sys and execute the following block:

commit;Change the port to whatever value you want.
To change your Tomcat port configuration, you probably edited the following piece in your server.xml
<Connector port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1"
...You'll find other ports used by the Tomcat in that file as well. Make sure you don't have a conflict with some other service.
I'm running a Tomcat next to XE on Ubuntu 8.04. Since I had to reconfigure the Tomcats default SSL Port (8443 was already used by another web server on that machine), I moved all Tomcat ports from 80XX to 100XX, keeping the EPG on port 8080, and it works fine for me.
