System infrastructure

Hi expert,
We plan to implement the TDMS but now I still have several problems to clear.
Our system infrastructure is:
The sender system: ECC5(release640), BI(release700), CRM(release620)  of cource on different servers.
The TDMS server: using the solution manager as the TDMS server, it's 701 release.
The receive system: the same as the sender system.
And we intend to use DMIS, DMIS_CNT, DMIS_EXT, DMIS_BSC, so my problem occurs:
On the sender system, I should install the DMIS, DMIS_CNT, DMIS_EXT add-on, which version I should choose? I think I should use the 640 release according to the sender system's release.
On the TDMS server, I should install all the add-ons. And I think I should choose 700 release due to there is no 701 release. It is permitted that the TDMS server installed add-ons' release are not the same as the sender system, am I right?
And I cannot download the software under "My Company's Application Components" under /swdc, but I can find the add-on using the Search function, it is not classified clearly. Can anybody have a good idea about it?
Thanks.
Eric

Hello Eric,
When installing the Addon DMIS, DMIS_CNT and DMIS_EXT to your system for you sender 640 release, you need to install  DMIS 2006_1_620 and for the central  DMIS 2006_1_700 and for the receiver  DMIS 2006_1_620.
If you  are unable to view the sofware under the heading 'My Company's Application Components'  you need raise an OSS message under the component XX-SER-SWFL.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Srila.

  • How to change or rename the logical system name T90CLNT090 IN BI 7

    HI Expert's,
i am really digging for the solution of changing or renaming the logical system name technical name T90CLNT090.
in our company we are using ecc5.0 with bi 3.5 and ecc6 with bi 7. In BW 3.5 having a connection with R/3 and the technical name of the myself bw source system(logical system) is T90CLNT090.
In bi 7 also the logical system name is same as T90CLNT090. Because of the same system name(Logical name) it is not active in BI7 and also it's giving error when i am activating the DSO Object as Transfer structure prefix for source system T90CLNT090 is not defined.
because of this i am not able to create the source system between r/3 also.
so how to change this source system name for T90CLNT090.

    Hi,
Pls follow this OSS note : 325525.
Note 325525 - Copying and renaming systems in a BW environment
    Summary
Symptom WARNING: THIS NOTE HAS BEEN REPLACED.  FOR MORE CURRENT AND MORE COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION SEE NEW NOTE 886102.
You want to copy and or rename one or more systems (database or client copy). One or more of the systems is a BW system or is connected to a BW system.
Caution: This note only deals with problems that occur in the BW source system connections. Other problems that occur in the BW environment (indexes) are NOT dealt with. See URL http://www.service.sap.com/bw --> Services & Implementation --> System copy & Migration.
Other terms BW, source system, OLTP, database copy, client copy, system infrastructure, transport system, connections, RFC connection, trfc, transfer structure, IDoc, ALE customizing, logical system name, system changeability, renaming systems, system copy
Solution Several scenarios are possible in this environment. Find the scenario relevant to your situation below and execute the steps listed or read the note(s) specified:
Scenario 1) You do not want to copy a system but only want to rename one (changing a logical system name).
Solution scenario 1): Execute Transaction BDLS both in the client to be renamed and in the connected BWs or BW source systems. To do this, see Notes 121163 and 369758.
Check the RFC destinations in all connected BWs/BW source systems as described in Note 524554.
Reactivate all partner agreements that carry the new logical system name after renaming.
Scenario 2) You want to copy the entire system infrastructure connected by the BW source system connections (that means the entire system group) by a database copy. SAP recommends this procedure for copying systems.
               Solution scenario 2):
If you want to rename one or more of the copied systems, then execute Transaction BDLS both in the client you wish to rename and in all the connected BW and BW source systems. See Note 121163.
Make sure that an RFC destination exists with the new logical name in every connected BW or BW source system.
Reactivate all partner agreements that carry the new logical system name after renaming.
Change the hosts in the appropriate RFC destinations so that they refer to the correct computer. For this, see Note 524554.
Scenario 3) You want to copy a single BW system of the group by database copy.
Scenario 3)a) You only want to exchange the hardware of your system but do not want to rename the system.
Solution scenario 3)a): You do not need to execute follow-up work regarding the system connections, except for adjusting the IP address in the RFC destinations of the connected system.
Scenario 3)b) You want to keep the original system of the copy so that you have two systems after copying.
Solution scenario 3)b): See Note 184754.
Scenario 4) You want to copy a single source system of the group by database copy.
Scenario 4)a) You only want to exchange the hardware of your system but do not want to rename the system.
Solution scenario 4)a): You do not need to execute follow-up work regarding the system connections, except for adjusting the IP address in the RFC destinations of the connected system.
Scenario 4)b) You want to keep the original system of the copy so that you have two systems after copying.
Solution scenario 4)b): See Note 184322.
Scenario 5) You want to import a client copy in a source system.
Solution scenario 5): See Note 325470.

  • No Service for System SAPECC(Sender Port), Client800(R/3 system client 800)

    Hi friends,
I am new to XI/PI I am working with IDOC to Flat file scenario I am facing the folllowing error.
No Service for System SAPECC(Sender Port), Client800(R/3 system client 800) in integration Directory.
can any one tell what was the reason for this error.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ravi Yasoda.

    Hi Ravi,
Have you imported the Business System in Integration Directory?
Check whether  you see the logical system name in adapter specific identifiers or not...
Also check from integration directory that cache notification was done and also check SXI_CACHE in the abap stack.
    See this thread...
No service for system SAP***, client 001 in Integration Directory
Please go through below content from sap note  for your issue...
Error message: No service for system SAPABC client 123 in the integration directory
    Solution:
You send IDocs from system ABC to XI. In the control record of the IDoc,the SNDPOR field contains the value "SAPABC". The client of the sending system is determined by the MANDT field of the control record. The system ID and client are then used to determine a service without party of the
    type (business-system/business-service):
    Business system
-> Activities in the System Landscape Directory (SLD)(Create technical
    system):
Create a technical system for system ABC in the SLD, and create the client for this. Do not forget to assign an "ALE logical system" (for example, "ABCCLNT123") to this technical system.
    SLD (Business system):
You can now explicitly assign a business system to this client. For more details, refer to the SLD documentation.
Activities in system ABC (self-registration in the SLD):
Alternatively, you can register the system in the SLD in system ABC with Transaction RZ70. You will find detailed information about the SLD registration of systems on the SAP Service Marketplace for the
"Exchange Infrastructure" in the document "Exchange_Installation_Guide.pdf".
In system ABC, you can check your configuration with Transaction SLDCHECK.
Activities in Integration Directory (import business system from SLD):
You will find the business systems under Services Without Party in the Integration Services. In the Service menu, you will find the system identifiers, the client, and the corresponding ALE logical
system under "Objects"->"Adapter-specific identifiers". Use the Import/Update button to copy the data from the SLD, to create business systems, or to update their identifiers.
    Business service
-> Activities in the Integration Builder directory:
You want to create a service without party that is not part of your system infrastructure and is therefore not maintained in the SLD. In the Integration Builder directory, you will find the "Business-Services" under Services Without Party. In the Service menu, you will find the system identifiers, the client, and the corresponding ALE logical system under "Objects"->"Adapter-specific
    identifiers".
Activate the change list in Integration Directory.
In system ABC, you can restart the incorrect entry from Transaction SM58 .

    Pinangshuk.

  • Refresh of BW System without deleting the source system

    Hello experts
I want to know, is it possible to refresh BW system without deleting the source system.
That means I just do the renaming via BDLS and reconnect.
If I do so, do I have a post refresh activities.
According to OSS note 886102  and 184447, there are 3 scenarios:
Scenario A: You want to copy the entire system infrastructure connected by the BW source system connections (that means the entire system group).
Scenario B: You want to copy a single BW system of the group, the sourcesystem is not copied.
Scenario C: You want to replace a single sourcesystem of a BW-system with another system using a database or client copy (Example: Refresh of the OLTP consolidation system by a copy of the OLTP production system). The BW system is not copied
Assuming I use Scenario A, can I refresh BW system without deleting the source system.

    Hi:
The primary source of information is the how to paper on this topic:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bff13df2-0c01-0010-6ba7-bc50346a6fd8
YOu are correct, you can refreh the BI system without deleting the source system.
Thanks for any points you assign (after all, I wrote the paper!).

Depending upon your Essbase/Planning Application you might need to increase the Ram. Remember you plan the architecture for 3 - 5 years in mind. Its a good practice to have variable like number of users increase per year, new applications, evolving data-set etc into consideration.
In one of the post, one of the expert suggested to have 2Gb per essbase application.

  • Gomogeneous System Copy

    Hi all,
We have two BW servers: one for Production and another one for development and testing. So, second BW system will have two source R/3 systems connections: with QA & DEV. Time to time the client is going to make gomogeneous copy of PRD R/3 to QA R/3.
The question: How the source system for QA in BW will be affected by the system copying. Do we have to create another source system for QA? Should we do something in QA R/3? In BW?
    Best regards,
    Eugene

    Hi SSree,
I followed the logic described in the note 184322 "Procedure after DB copy of BW source systems". And it is a bit confusing.
    1. The note 184322 is used exactly for my case: for restoration of the BW source system connection lost as a result of refreshing of the OLTP consolidation system by a copy of the OLTP production system.
The note refers to the note 325525 “Copying and renaming systems in a BW environment”, in which two applicable scenarios are described:
Scenario 2) You want to copy the entire system infrastructure connected by the BW source system connections (that means the entire system group) by a database copy. SAP recommends this procedure for copying systems.
    and
Scenario 4) You want to copy a single source system of the group by database copy.
Scenario 4)b) You want to keep the original system of the copy so that you have two systems after copying.
The last scenario solution refers to the original note 184322.
The first one refers to the note 121163 “BDLS: Converting logical system names”, which in turn refers to the note 524554 “Storing destinations in the BW environment”.  The last note requires some additional actions both on BW & R/3 sides.
So, it’s not clear for me which scenario to use.
And there is a little doubt that using BDLS tcode in R/3, restoration of source system and activation of all transfer structures to the source system in BW is enough. Could someone clarify this?
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • Shared and non-shared application file system in R12

    Hi,
We have a oracle apps 11.5.10.2 on mutli node architecture with node 1 hosting DB,CCM and admin while node 2 hosting Form and web servers on Windows 2003.
Some of our Products are in Shared status(Installation) like AD,AU etc and I found that R12 currently does not support the shared file system infrastructure on application tier server nodes running on Windows platforms
    Metalink note:384248.1
what will be the impact of this if we plan for R12 upgrade?
    Thanks!
    Shekhar

    Hi Shekar,
    <p>
I'm slightly confused by your question. Shared application tier file system isn't supported on Windows platforms in 11i, either. From Note 233428.1: <br>
    <blockquote>
The shared file system infrastructure is not supported <b>on application tier server nodes running Windows platforms</b> or using Oracle9iAS releases earlier than 1.0.2.2.2. Application tier nodes must be running on the same operating system to implement a shared file system.
    </blockquote>
    <p>
Are you perhaps referring to the licensing status of your Applications products (i.e. either Installed, Shared, or Not Installed) from the Installed Products report in OAM? If yes, then this should have no impact on your upgrade to R12...those statuses should remain the same when you upgrade. "Shared" in this case relates only to the licensing status of the product, implying that the product is not explicitly licensed (i.e. Installed status), but its functionality is required for used with other Installed products.
    <p>

  • E-recruimtment: Question about landscape standalone with several HR Systems

    Hi,
We are going to start with the implementation of E-recruitment , normally version 6.0.
The aim is to install 1 e-recruitment system as a standalone system who shall communicate with several HR systems of several companies (subsidiary company in different coountries Luxembourg, France, Belgium) and probably those HR systems (backend) runs on different versions.
So the aim is that every company shall search for its own candidates in the e-recruitment system and shall do its own hirings.
Up till now it isn't clear for us how this works ?
Thus anybody have already experience of such a landsccape who is willing to share his information ?
Wat are the benefits, the disadvantages, the difficulties, are there things we have to think about , ...
    Kind Regards
    Pascale

    Hello Rachael,
you cannot split the so called pool of talents. every applicant has the option to release his profile in the system. if he does so, he agrees to be assigned / checked to any other requisition (=position) you open in your e-recruiting system. When you open a new requisition you can check if you already have suitable candidates in the system to get in contact with instead of finding new ones (you can just put him on the requisition). In the more strategic overall talent management topic one goal is to have a pool filled with critical applicant groups (engineers, sales people, researchers. ... - the short and strategic necessary applicant groups according to your business) to hire fast (and cheap).
This pool is accessable to every recruiter in standard. There is no restriction that if an applicant applied for company A a recruiter from company B cannot take him and get in contact with him.
For the requisition handling. Requisitions are always restricted to its recruiting team. If you create a requisition you assing the people who have to work with it (and the roles they have for the process). Recruiters can only access the requisitions they belong to. So this should not be a problem. By maintaining the company and branch for a requisition you can always find out which requisition belongs to which company and react on this in correspondences for example.
Managers are not really assigned to requisitions. Their task is restricted to request requisitions (of course in this case they become a member of the recruiting team). The candidate handling works by questionairs. The manager gets a list of requisitions and assigned candidates he is supposed to evaluate. The evaluation is done via filling the questionaire. He has no direct access to all candidates in the system.
The 2 ECC systems for one E-Recruiting standalone system are possible - unfortunately with some restrictions.
There are 2 ways of communication. The HR system has to deliver all employees and if you want to integrate OM all org.units, positions and jobs to the e-recruiting system. The employees get internal candidates for internal recruitment and even if you do not plan do use this every recruiter, manager needs a candidate to work with the system. The standard way for this is ALE. If you have a consolidated HR system infrastructure with non overlapping employee IDs and organizational unit IDs you can easily transfere data from both system into the e-recruiting system. If the number ranges overlap you will need special adaptions for mapping Ids for global identification. This might get a very chalanging task exp. if you include OM.
The other way is transfering hirings to the HR systems. This is more tricky. If you really plan to use this function (note that due to the restrictions in the function not all implementations use it anyways) you will need some custome developments. How much effort is needed for that would need more info on the systems and the requirements. I think in the best scenario I could imaging it would take me 5 days but as usual the sky is the limit if it's more complex.

  • Running a report on QAS that requires changes to structures

    Hi,
I am trying to apply an OSS Note but the the note saids the following:
<i>You must therefore execute the report in each system in the system infrastructure.</i>
Would this be referring to running the report on the QAS and PRD systems? I ran the report on QAS but I would get a message prompting that
<i>Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted. Choose Display object  or Cancel.</i>
Not quite sure what SAP is asking its clients to do? Any ideas what it is suggesting?
    Thanks

    Hi!
Use transaction SCC4 to enable repository/cross-client changes in QAS and PRD systems.

  • Fiori Wave 8 Apps in the HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC)

    Hi everyone,
I am currently in a project, where we have to install the Fiori Wave 8 Apps in a HEC landscape. Unfortuneatly I have only experience with installing Fiori on an On-Premise System. Are there any guys out there, who have allready installed Fiori Apps in the HANA Enterprise Cloud and could provide some Best Practises or could help me answer the following question:
Does an installation works in the same way like on an On-Premise System?
In my understanding a private system infrastructure in the HEC is nothing else, than an On-Premise-System hosted in the cloud or am I wrong?
Any knowledge would help me a lot.
    Thx in advance
    Dominik

I personally haven't installed Fiori, but I would agree with your own conclusion in the question.
Installation on HEC should be the same process as on-premise (which is the experience you already have), it just happens to be in an SAP data center, and not a customer data center.

  • Regarding BADI's in ABAP

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me What is meant BY <b>BADI's</b>!
Also what are the main diffrences between <b>User-Exits and BADI's</b>!
Can anybody explain me wether any diffrent types of <b>BADI's</b> are available!
Can anybody provide me documentation with the examples
    for <b>BADI's</b>.
If anybody is having good material on the same please post it.
    (or)
    Please send the material to
    My Personnal Mail id : <b>[email protected]</b>
    Thanks in advanace.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rayeez.

    I.What is Badi?
    1.New SAP enhancement technique
2.To accommodate user requirements not available / too specific to be included in the SAP standard Program
3.Based on ABAP Objects – It has Interfaces & Methods
4.Guaranteed upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces
-Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces
    II.BAdi & Customer-Exit
1.Though different enhancement technique, BAdi has following distinct features
    -Uses Object oriented approach
-Two parts - Definition and its Implementation - definition can either be SAP provided or user may also create it
-no longer assumes a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers)
-allows multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like)
    3.BAdi – where to find
1.Look for BAdi in IMG and in component hierarchy (using transaction SE18)
2.Create own implementation of the add-in (complete coding for Methods) and activate
3.Enhancement's active components are called at runtime.
BAdi Definition (SE18)1.To include Business Add-Ins in the program
    - Define an interface for the enhancement in the SAP menu under Tools-> ABAP Workbench -> Utilities -> Business Add-Ins -> Definition (transaction SE18)
-Call the interface at the appropriate point in application program
-Customers can then select the add-in and implement it according to their needs
    BAdi Implementation (SE19)
    1.ABAP Workbench ->Utilities -> Business Add-Ins -> Implementation (transaction SE19)
2.Find the suitable Business Add-Ins present in system (Use IMG or Component hierarchy)
3.Use Add-Ins Documentation to understand functionality & to decide
    4.Implement the Add-Ins
