  • Equium A100-306 freezes and hangs

My laptop uses to freeze and hang, I have done windows recovery and reinstalling the windows for 2 times. At the moment the problems are:
The system is very slow, takes ages to come up.
When I use voice chat, laptop freezes and hangs.
Please give me an advise what I should do.

    Hi
If you want to have faster start up check which processes and applications start with OS and disable all of them you do not need. The start up time will not take so much time as before. Here some useful tips:
Spyware and adware can significantly slow startup. If your notebook is taking long time to launch, it could be because of spyware or adware. It is recommended to use some anti-spyware/adware program.
Another possible reason your notebook startup is slow: too many installed programs on it, many of which have components that must be launched at startup. Removing unwanted programs will help improve startup performance. To remove a program in Windows XP, select Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, select the program you want to delete, and click Remove. Unfortunately, programs must be removed one at a time. If in doubt, don't delete.
Windows system tray, located in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, contains small icons for programs that automatically start with the OS and run in the background and they slow your notebook's startup.
Some system-tray-resident programs let you disable their automatic startup routine. Place your cursor over a program icon you don't think you need to start up automatically and right-click. Select Open, Options, Preferences, or something similar and look for an option that enables the program to automatically start with Windows. Disable the option. The changes should take effect when you restart. If you need those programs you can launch them from the Start menu when they're needed.
Some applications automatically place a shortcut icon in the Startup folder to ensure they launch with Windows. You can put a stop to that. Right-click the Start button and click Explore. Windows Explorer launches with the Start menu selected by default. Click the plus sign next to Programs and click Startup. Shortcut icons will be listed in the right-hand pane. If you're sure you don't need any of the programs to launch automatically, delete or remove the shortcuts from there and then restart your notebook.
Not all programs install an icon in the system tray and run in the background--and yet, they still start up automatically with Windows. You can use Windows' System Configuration Utility to stop programs and tasks from starting up automatically.
Click Start > Run > Type "msconfig" > Choose the Startup tab. Remove the checks from any tasks you want to prevent from automatically launching. Click OK. You'll need to restart for changes to take effect. Click Restart and Windows XP will restart with only the system services and applications running resulting in a very fast logon / startup.
This tweak will disable all non-system startup services and applications so if you have anything you want to run in the background such as anti virus software do not disable that item.
About freezing I can not tell you much. Which voice chat application you use?

  • Lockups, Freezes and Hangs

Are lockups, freezes and hangs a sign of needing a new PC?

Thank you, I will do that. For some reason I thought that HP customer service representatives replied and posted here.
I'll leave this on, and post updates in case someone has similar problems. Likewise, if anyone has any advice, or suggestions they are very much welcome here.

    Hi there,
Can you please try viewing the published *.mp4 file on a different player or on a different machine and see its working or not?

  • Acrobat on Mac OS X Yosemite Freezes and Hangs Constantly

I am so frustrated with my Acrobat Pro performance that I'm seriously considering moving to something else to manage/edit PDF files.
I have a pretty new 27-inch iMac with plenty of memory, which had a clean install of Yosemite (not migrated from another computer) last spring. I loaded Acrobat on it, and ever since, I've had problems with freezing, unexpected closing, and general slow performance.
In particular, nearly any time I select text, I get the rainbow ball for a second or two after I've let off the mouse, and sometimes I have to click again to get the application to respond again and get the text selected. The program crashes ALL THE TIME, and it hangs on other tasks besides selecting text.
I've tried the "reduce the number of recent files" trick, which did nothing (except make it exceptionally annoying to use Acrobat, since I actually use the "recent files" function a lot to get back into whatever project I was working on).
What else can I do???? It's driving me crazy!!!!
    Details:
    Acrobat version 11.0.10 • Build 11.0.10.32
    Mac OS X 10.10.2
    32 GB 1600 mhz DDR3 RAM

    Hey c.h.g.%20boyd,
Could you please refer the KB doc link mentioned below and try out the troubleshooting steps for MAC:

  • Panic Attaks and related freezes and hangs

I have been stumped by my computer freezing all the time at least 5-6 times a day. I bought Tech Tool Pro Deluxe and ran all the system suites, only minor finder errors reported and I fixed them. I optimized my hard drive, did a complete sector by sector scan and still the problems persisted. I them did a complete repartition of my 80 GB hard drive combining my two partitions back to one. I have about 27 GB of free space available after reloading my files and OS X 10.4.6 disk and then updated with 10.4.11. I get the panic attaks at random but my computer hangs mostly while on the internet using the apple internal modem and Safari and / or Camino. The system also seems to hang when I multi tasking applications or scrolling windows. Here is my latest panic crash log for yesterday and today

Can anybody please help me. Do I have a bad CPU or Memory module that Tech Tool Pro is not finding?

Thanks for your help I'll give that a try.
In the mean time is there a way I can network my iBook G4 to my PowerMac and run programs using the iBook's CPU and modem but using the 17" Apple Studio Display connected to my PowerMac? In other words use the PowerMac as a file server and display terminal?
I have the two hooked up with FireWire cable and using AppleTalk I can access the iBook on the PowerMac but even though my PowerMac's drive shows up in the iBook's finder, I can't connect to it. And that doesn't really allow me to do the above operation anyway does it?

  • Systems Preferences freezes and unresponsive in Lion.

After updating to new Lion OS my System Preferences freezes up, and unresponsive. Have to do a false quit to exit. I accidently requested a picture file that no longer exists to get picture for destop and sreen saver when app froze up and cannot do anything, that requires changing preferences.

If anyone is still having this issue, try this fix:
    1. open Terminal and type
chflags nohidden ~/Library (this will unhide your library folder in Lion)
    2. open Finder and navigate to Mac HD/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences and delete com.apple.desktop.plist
    3. in Terminal type
chflags hidden ~/Library (to hide your library folder)

  • System completely freezes and becomes unresponsive

    Hi,
We have a single processor, 1 GB RAM Redhat system (desktop). Normally with the database(oracle 10.1g) and client connections running, the memory utilization of this server is around 90-99% . However every few days the box completely freezes and becomes unresponsive (users cannot login, client connections fail). We have to hardboot the box and restart the database. When in stuck state, the log files are not updated, except that sendmail logs heavy load average. ( Messages like "Load Avg 12: 1 Times(s) Load Avg 13: 1 Times(s) Load Avg 14: 1 Times" and so on) and the free memory falls to 8 mb or less but with above 2 gb swap space available.
My question is if there is no free memory, system should thrash (excessive swapping) and become slow, but instead our box completely freezes, though the interactive response ( for any connection which is still active) and ping response is ok, they aren't slow.
Is there any kernel level parameter that can be tuned so the server won't freeze, (tries to move the memory pages to swap space or any other way). When the server is stuck (freezes ) any ssh connections still active will stay on, but new connections fail. One time, using that session, I tried to free up memory by killing processes like X Server etc, but still the server didn't unfreeze.
    Server info:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 4)
    Kernel (uname -r) 2.4.21-27.EL
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz (Single processor)
    1 GB RAM
    Oracle db version - 10.1.0.3.0
Lastly, I don't think this is any hw problem, because we see similiar problem on multiple system with similiar configs.
Please guide how to resolve the problem. Thanks.

  • Lumia 720 freezes and hangs

I have Nokia Lumia 720. I brought it 5 months ago march'14. It was working well for first 3-4 months but now it hangs a lot.
I even informed NokiaCare on twitter. They told me to restart, soft reset, hard reset, and even recovery via Nokia software tool. But it still keeps on hanging.
    Didn't expected this. Please help!!
    Give solution asap.
    Thanks.

May be the cause, because this might be a rather old SIM. SIMs do fail after a certain amount of time. Furthermore, all Micro-SIMs are USIM. Windows Phone relies on a USIM heavily. A normal SIM can be a USIM or not. Micro-SIM makes that sure.
Therefore, please, ask your operator for a Micro-SIM are report back in any case: pass or failure.

  • Installed Lion, change wallpaper, "desktop & screensaver" freeze, force quit, then "system preferences" freeze and need force quit every time

After Lion install, tried to change wallpaper in "system preferences"->"desktop & screensaver" appeared but immediatly freeze, so force quit.
Then System preference pane as it immediatly freezes if I try to open it.  Have to "force quit" each time.
Found many people have the exact issue and highly likely it's the bug of lion.
    Anybody found a solution?  Thx.

It has to do with a problem accessing the images on the home>images folder. To solve it, just move its content (iphoto library included) to another place. Then, restart System Preferences. Moving your iPhoto library to another location seems to fix the problem. I am sure Apple will issue an update to correct this problem. But, for now this seems to work for me.

  • Browser freezing and hangs

For some reason whenever I use any browser on my computer (HP DV7 with Windows 7 operating system) the browser will freeze up and not respond. It will load ONLY when I'm constantly moving the mouse, the second I take my finger off the trackpad, the browser will immediately stop responding, and when I begin to move the mouse, normal functions will begin, and webpages will load. It also happens when viewing videos online, such as on Youtube, or watching movies on Netflix, the video will stop the moment I take my finger off the trackpad, and when I move the mouse again, the video will play. It also happens on any other browser I use, (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc) I'm not sure if it's a virus or what, but it only happens when I'm on an internet browser. I can do anything else on my computer, but when I open up a browser, the problem persists.

hello, there has been a fix released that should address this problem, so please update your firefox like this: go to ''firefox > help > about firefox'' which will trigger the update to firefox 25.0.1.
    https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/25.0.1/releasenotes/
''edit: there seems to be a scheduled shutdown of the update server and other services for maintenance work currently - you can download the new version manually from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/''
