System is not starting (MS-7058)

Hi All,
I need some help from you. I am using P4 3GHz LGA775 socket CPU with MSI motherboard MS-7058(915-G Combo) since last 2 years. Last Week all of sudden, the CPU fan speed increased after 20 minutes of operation(which was not heavy resource task) and then my system automatically shut down(not normal shut down though). After this incident, whenever I tried to restart the PC, I was not able to start it. Only HDD LED glows and my Sony CD-RW LED remains continuously glowed. Neither its CD tray opens nor any operation can be done on system(which makes me feel that system is dead :( ). Whenever I boot the system, my monitor, which is directly connected to same supply, starts blinking. The BIOS window is also not appearing. I have tested its DDR - RAM(512MB DDR-400) and HDD(80GB Samsung SATA) on my frined's PC but both are working fine.I also changed the Mother board battery and tried changed Motherboard SMPS but still same things are happening. So, I think, there might be fault in  AMI BIOS(either corrupted or IC is damaged) or CPU is damaged because the Power Supply is OK with CPU and MB. Please advice on this
Regards,
Techkid.

seems to me that there might have sudden increase in voltage supplied to the cpu which cause the fan to speed up within a short period of time. check your motherboard for any bad capacitors, eg. bloated tops, brownish substances leaked from the bottom...  failing capacitors can cause damage to the voltage regulators, making your motherboard to become a junk.

  • "Start Deletion of Data in Receiver System" does not start

I faced the problem tha data deletion in Receiver system is not started in TDTIM synario.
I started the activity "Start Deletion of Data in Receiver System" , the job "CNV_TDMS_09_RESTART_JOBS" is aborted till the job "CNV_MBT_CNV_TDMS_09_START_JOBS" is over in Receiver System.
The error message is "No log was created for object CAGTFBS and sub-objekt SLOMBT".
After The job "CNV_MBT_CNV_TDMS_09_START_JOBS" is over, the job  "CNV_TDMS_09_RESTART_JOBS" is finished normaly but the no deletion job is released.
I carried out some deletion job by manual operation but other deletion job is not released.
Does Anyone knows the solution of this problem ?

    Hi Joerg,
    Thank you for your reply.
    > Please check the syslog for any reference to bad defined batch jobs! (all on receiver)
Syslog is nothing in receiver system.
    > Is there any deletion job that can not be startet manually on the receiver side?
    >  (So normally on top of the list of scheduled deletion jobs.
I think all deletion job can be started manually.
Nomally, some deletion job is finished, the job is released next deletion job but no deletion jobs is released.
In addition, If rerun job "CNV_TDMS_09_RESTART_JOBS" is finished, no deletion jobs is released.
    Best regards,

  • System will not start

T60 will not start.  While turning on and initiating system, it died suddenly.  Even the battery light was not illuminated.  Battery part# is FRU P/N 42T4504.  Should the system still start with the AC adapter, even if battery has died?  Are others having problems with this battery?

I had a similar problem, it ended up being much less of an issue than I originally thought.
THis was my problem, maybe its similar to yours.
When doing any type of CPU or GPU intensive work, such as video encoding, or even playing a flash application with lots of things going on, it would jsut die.  Lights out, not even the battery or charging lights would come on.  Pressing the power button would do nothing either.  I had to unplug, take the battery out, put it back in, wait about 10 mins then restart and pray for no BSOD.
I thought it was the power source, but since it was just shutting off randomly, (a symptom of an overheating GPU or CPU) I decided to clean out the fan first (I was out of warrenty).
If that sounds like your problem, I recommend you try the following.  If it doesn't fix it, then you're out about $15 and a half-hour of your time.  If your machine is out of warrenty, or if you don't want to wait a couple weeks for your laptop to return from the depot, definitely try this.  Its cheaper then paying for repairs, and cheaper then getting an assessment of the problem.
Go to a computer parts store, bought a good tube of thermal paste (cost like $15) and some compressed air.  Get the good stuff if you have a good processor.  It works much better than the stock stuff.
First unplug your laptop, take the battery out, then Unscrew the Screws at the bottom that hold the palmrest, Keyboard down (they'll be marked) then the screws that hold the bezel (not marked).
Once those are off, draw a quick sketch of the inside components, and as you take screws out, label on your sketch the size/colour of the screw, so everything goes back in correctly.
Then, you'll need to take the top left speaker out, and two metal 'arms' that hold the Fan in place.  The fan should then pop out.  If there's another screw I'm forgetting about, take it out too.
On the fan, your CPU and GPU, there will be old thermal paste.  With a lint-free cloth, with a bit of 70% rubbing alcohol, clean the paste off.  Be sure to use something that won't leave residue.  Things like TP, kleenex, etc are bad.  Coffee Filters work pretty well.
Now with the compressed air, spray out the inside of your laptop, spray the fan out well, and anything else that looks dusty.
Now put a bit of the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, and pop the fan unit back in place, screw it in immediately.  Put the rest of the components back together, and while you're at it, take the time to blow out your keyboard, as I'm sure its full of dust, crumbs ,hair, and other fun stuff.
This would likely solve your problem for under $20.  And best yet, you don't have to ship your laptop away for a few weeks.
In my case, I thought there were bigger problems.  After cleaning/replacing the fan, I haven't had an issue at all, its been a few months.  I can encode video, run graphically intensive programs/games, etc. without an issue.  CPU/GPU temps don't get nearly as bad as they did.
    Hope that helps your problem.

  • HP ProBook 4540s - system does not start after recovery

My friend gave me the laptop, because system was not detected. I decided to recovery operating system.
I had to deal with following error messages:
    - I was getting error "Boot Device not Found"
I started HDD test with result Passed
    - next step was to recovery OS
it finished with new error message
"Selected boot image did not authenticate. Press to continue"
     according to this topic:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/Selected-boot-image-did-not-aut...
    I did following:
    - secureboot changed to disabled
    problem  persisted
    - legacy changed to enabled
since then I am not able to do anything. When I let the system start, it finishes with HP logo and nothing happens.
When I press ESC after restart, menu is displayed but I am not able to enter to BIOS. If freezes all the time on the menu with highlihted text.
I tried to remove battery, unplug power, press 30 seconds powerbutton, nothing has changed.
Next step should be probably to temporarily remove RTC battery, but I am not sure if am I allowed to open it without loosing waranty.
The laptop is old approx. 3 months.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi:
Since the notebook is under warranty, I would suggest your friend contact HP technical support and have them fix the issue.
When you get a boot device not found error it is either the hard drive (whether the test says it passed or not), or the drive controller on the motherboard.
I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
The HP support tech will probably have your friend run through some of the steps you did before they tell him what to do next such as returning it for warranty repairs, etc.

  • HP pavillion Elite HPE-541F ... system will not start and monitor keeps going into sleep mode

    Good Morning:
Having an issue with my Hp Pavilion Elite HPE-541F and Monitor HP2311x
Yesterday, thinking I was updating Java ... clicked on it and agreed to things being allowed on computer ... started adding icons to my desktop .... then pop ups kept coming up to register etc ... I assumed that something was wrong so I attempted to restore system to previous ... since then my system will not boot up ... will say "starting windows" and I can hear the fans working but thats it ... second part of the issue is that the monitor keeps going to sleep, so even if I try to restart the computer in "safe" mode or anything else monitor goes to sleep and there's nothing on the screen so don't know if anything is doing anything .... Very sorry I'm also not very tech savy with computers ... just trying to save time and money before I have to bring system to computer repair person .... Any help would be appreciated .... Thanks so very much

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can do this at

  • HT3964 After updated to Maverick system is not starting , keeping light gray screen without progress

I updated first to Mountain Lion my Mac becomes slow, after trying to solve I updated again to Maverick. But my Mac after becomes slow not starting, so I restore a backup, but now some times doesn't start, stops on gray screen ...
I tried comm opt p r and other commands but still not solve. Should I format and install new system from zero?

    HCQuintao,
try this first: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it still stop on the grey screen?

  • System will not start login Window

I have a 10.4.5 workstation that will not start the login window.
It comes up very quickly with the box/progress bar that shows the starting services. Then it goes to the blue screen with the spinning wheel. It will the get a beachball that goes to a useable mouse, but there is only lots of blue real estate. Login window never comes up.
I have done the following in the order listed:
    disk utility
    fsck
    repaired permissions
    renamed com.apple.loginwindow.plist
    replaced the netinfo DB
each reboot only produces the same screen with a cursor and nothing else.

I had a similar looking problem on not one but two laptops after upgrading to 10.4.7 (which incorporates several Security Updates) from various lower Tiger versions. In my case, booting to single user mode showed loginwindow continually falling over & being restarted.
They wouldn't boot from CD or external firewire drives.
I eventually got them back up by booting in firewire target mode & applying the 10.4.7 Combo updater.

  • SAP system can not start up

The system is SAP IDES 6.0 SR2 on windows 2003.
There is no system entry in SAP MMC.
Another system (NW70 SR2) can startup with command "startsap ..". But the IDES can not.
    R3trans -d  is OK.
    sapstartsrv   not work.
Add system in SAP MMC, not work.
I have read several Notes and SDN threads here, but still can't work out.
    Thanks.

    Hi Shen,
Check that ALL Database services are started and running.
Specially in case of Oracle, Check LISTENER service.
Then try to start SAP again..
    Regards.

  • SAP System down :  not starting up

    Hi Folks ,
    We are facing a problem.
Our quality system was down .
When I checked ps-ef | grep sap : the processes are running but it is not allowing us to login.
we tried re-starting the system but that didn't worked.
I checked the processes with dpmon cmd , many process are free,  still not sure on why it is not allowing us to login.
Need your guidance in moving further
    Thanks
    Regards
    Sandy

  • Restored system from Time Machine backup disk but the system could not start-up

On MacBook Pro early 2008, restored the entire system from Time Machine backup disk to the entire disk.
The previous system on the backup disk had FileVault turned on.
The restore completed successfully and I was prompted to restart the system via the new restored system disk.
I heard the normal start-up sound, then the Apple logo, but it stuck at the logo screen. And the cooling fan run at almost full speed?
I have been waiting for a few hours, guessing it might FileVault the disk.
Finally I have to shutdown the machine as it stuck at the logo screen forever.
Anyone has the same issue? Any ideas?

BTW, I also tried Repair the system disk, Fix permissions via Disk Utility.
I guess I must lose some files either during the backup or the restore.

  • Imac G5/Intel, OS 10.6., system does not start up after connecting new router

After connecting the imac to a new router the system hung completely up. After each input, e.g. opening preview or a browser, the coloured turning disc appeared and nothing happened anymore. Several restarts, also in safe mode,  were unsuccessful. I could not switch to another user.  Restart is only possible at all from installation disc but thereafter problem remains the same.
    What can I do?

And, what happens if you disconnect the computer from the new router? Are you able to do this, and what happens when you try it?
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • System does not start after upgrade to OS X 10.9

My MacBook Air does not boot. Please provide the trouble shooting steps

Please note that it is charged full and I don't see any power problem
