System keep restarting - U310 Touch

has porn virus on laptop and used mscomfig to go to safe mode with networking.  Now it just keep restarting over and over.  can't get into windows at all.  Anyone know how to stop this?

You are wanting to create a thumbdrive for Windows 8 that you can boot to if you need to troubleshoot the system, correct? You are looking for this, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive
But I am also curious as to your first problem. When you go into safe mode thru MSCONFIG, you leave yourself open to this sort of continuos reboot. To get out of it you need a program called EasyBCD so that you can edit the Boot Configuration and get out of the loop. There are tons of instructions that will get you thru using this.
https://neosmart.net/wiki/easybcd/
So if you are the kind of user that is fixing your own system or systems belonging to other people, you may want to take a look at this utility. It might save you a lot of headaches. I have not used it myself, because with Windows 7 I can still boot into safe mode normally, but with Windows 8 and newer, that is not an option.

  • FX5900XT-VTD128 - System keeps restarting

My system keeps restarting and windows is saying it's a graphics card driver problem.
The driver I am using is v6672 from MSI LiveUpdate.
I am currently running this card on:-
    AMD AthlonXP 3200+
    2 x 512Mb 400Mhz DDR RAM (Dual Channel Mode)
    MSI K7N2 Delta-L Motherboard
    PSU - 400Watt Ebuyer Value
Sometimes I can play a game full resolution for ages and it won't crash and sometimes just 5 mins.  Also it will reboot while doing simple things.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It's strange, the lock ups just occur after a while.  I've been playing Doom 3 high resolution for ages today and nothing happened.  Yet I could go to bed tonight and wake up to a BSOD.  Then sometimes I could be doing something in Office and it will just BSOD.  I was using the PC for around 6 hours yesterday before it happened.  All graphics are fine in the games I've played, so it must be something else.
I've done MEMTEST and that was fine, and also ran CPU test and that was fine.
But...I noticed today there was something new on my motherboard that wasn't on my old.  A 4 Pin connecter and the mobo manual says it powers the CPU.  Well I've connected this up and booted the system and no BSOD so far, but will let you know if it does.

  • OS install - System keeps restarting

I'm trying to perform a clean install of Mac OS X 10.5 from the installation CD. I insert the CD and click on "Install Mac OS X"...it asks for the password...and then reboots. When it reboots, it just displays a gray screen and then the machine restarts...displays the gray screen. And it gets caught in that cycle. I tried doing it by rebooting the machine and holding down c, but the same thing happens. During the gray screen, if I hold the eject button, the disc ejects and the apple logo displays and the system starts up normally. Any ideas?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
First off, Mac OS X doesn't have a clean install option:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=607614
So what type of install are you actually trying to perform and why?
Secondly, which 10.5 install CD do you have and how old is your Mac? The label should give us a clew. What color is the label, and what does the fine and large print say?
Is the issue with the Mac Mini in your profile?
If it is, use this site to narrow down when your Mac was released:

  • Hey guys.. serious trouble as the system keeps restarting

Turned it on this morning to begin work, pretty pumped to meet a deadline. Low and behold my first monitor went to a white screen with lines and the second one wet to a full white screen... then the fan started whirring like a jet. I unplugged it, and restarted it it shut off like 5 times in a row... I then tried safe-boot but it shut off twice right before the log in screen showed up. I got it to start up again but this is really bad, it also keeps flashing the memory on start up sometimes going up to 8 chimes.... I usually repair permissions, and run other checks with onyx(which I only run in safe mode), which works for like a few days to a week before it starts chipping again. Any suggestions? Oh yeah, and the blue tooth breaks after sudden restarts like that, I have to plug it out and leave it for 3-5 minutes before it works again.

First I'd try starting it in its simplest configuration. Unplug any peripherals (Bluetooth, printers) in case they are messing it up. Try starting.
No go? Now try starting from your installer disc by holding down the C key..
No go? Try starting from the installer disc holding down the D key for Apple Hardware test ans see what it says.
More options once we know what's happening so far.
You might also post this on the appropriate hardware forum for your computer since I'm inclined to think it may be more related to hardware and you'll get better advice from other users of that model.

Ipod touch 4th gen needed a new screen and sleep/wake switch.  So, I replace them.  I was able to get to settings and do "erase all content and settings".  I am not able to totally shut this device off as it keeps restarting after a few seconds.  I have used itunes to restore and also recover.  Device will actually shut off and stay shut off if I leave it connected to the computer.  The moment I unplug (3 seconds) the apple logo appears, it boots, unlock screen appears, I can unlock and operate normally, unplugged or not.  Just cant get it to completely shut down unplugged.  Any thoughts?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
      - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you installed a bad component or damaged something during the repair/replacement.
Apple will not help since you worked on the iPod yourself.

    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode.
iPad: Unable to update or restore
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • Ipod touch 2g keeps restarting when in recovery mode

The other day my ipod started restarting on it's own while I was using it. To try and fix this I restored it to it's original settings. When I plugged it into my laptop (windows 7) itunes recognized the ipod as in recovery mode. When I tried to restore the ipod in itunes, the screen of the ipod went from the usb and itunes logo to a glitchy screen (it was shutting off and restarting, thus losing connection with the laptop) and then back to the usb screen. Ultimately, I got a 1611 error. I've tried all the suggestions for the 1611 error online (using a different computer, change usb port, put in dfl mode, etc.) but no matter what I do, my ipod keeps restarting when it's restoring. Help!

Error 1611: This error may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Alsoattempt to restore while connected with a known-good 30-pin Dock Connector cable, computer, and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value (00 499901 064000 0) can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured proxy or security software, such as FoxyProxy, can cause error 1611. To troubleshoot third-party security software, follow these steps.
    If you tried everthing above
    (from:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1611)
Then you appear to have a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to confirm.

  • My iPhone 4 keeps restarting it's self & Won't Charge

"APPLE HARDWARE/SOFTWARE PRODUCT PROBLEMS WITH MINE & WORLDWIDE"
    1.
    24-06-2011
As from Friday 24th June 2011 when I purchased my iPhone 4 it Won't Charge, stays in the red & go above 5% even after 2-3+ days no difference charging plus I tried x4 different Apple charges but it made no difference at all to the problems with the iPhone 4.
    2.
    24-06-2011
iPhone 4 keeps restarting it's self every 30 seconds
    3.
    24-06-2011
I do a system restore many times via iTunes
    4.
I do a hard reset by holding the power & home button for 45sec x5 times
    5.
I do a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum
    6.
Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest 4.3.3 OS via iTunes
    7.
I leave iPhone 4 to completely dis charge where it won't start at all & then recharge it where charge holds for a couple of hours but then only to turn itself off when the power meter is reading 64% but won't restart after pressing power button.
    8.
So I pug the iPhone 4 back on its charger for a couple of hours but it still reads only 1% battery power so I do another by holding the power & home button for 25 seconds as I'm told via online forum up to which the battery meter reads 96% as to will not charge no higher than 93-96% but again the seconds later the iPhone 4 again starts keeping restarting it's self every 30 seconds nonstop all over again.
    9.
Nothing has help with this piece of Apple ****.
    10.
Reading more online forum where this is a very common problem with it seem that all iPhone models, iPad’s, iPod 4 it also had similar problems as did mine.
    11.
Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest x4.more times of the iPhone OS via iTunes which has made NO DIFFERENCE to the continued problems with this APPLE PIECE OF CRAP.
    12.
    01-09-2011 @ 8:08pm
I plug it in to my computer where it Shows it’s charging a CHARGING icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen & then a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds.
    13.
    01-09-2011
Now after a doing a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum. But this time each time it restarts 90% charge, 85% charge, 80% charge, 76% charge & that continues like that again, again & again, what a piece of CRAP…
    14.
    01-09-2011
Again I plug it in to my computer where it Shows it’s charging a CHARGING icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen & then a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds
    15.
    01-09-2011
I Plug it in & once more I do a system restore via Apple iTunes to see once more if it will make any difference, like that will do anything ‘YEA RIGHT”.. And the answer is “NO WHAT A SURPRISE” Now showing 74% charge, continuing to restart every 30seconds
    16.
    01-09-2011
72% charge, continuing to restart every 30seconds & then showing a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds.
    17.
    01-09-2011
Then this happens during Sync after a do a system restore via Apple iTunes
    18.
Now showing 74% charge & still continuing to restart every 30seconds.
    19.
Won’t charge at all while turned on
    20.
    01-05-2012
Still won’t charge when plugged in plus there is NO CHARGE SYMBOL on the screen to show its charging & so it doesn’t charge...
    21.
    19-05-2012
Now upgraded to iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 & it now continues to REBOOT/RESTART every three to five second regardless of whether it’s plugged in or unplugged NOW & the ONLY way I can get some sort of charge into it is to turn off the iPhone 4 completely but only after it already plugged in to the power & after it’s already restarted it’s self again buy holding the POWER BUTTON down plus flicking the Phone shutdown touch screen button across But still not fixing it’s problem regardless of how many times I’ve upgraded the iPhones 4 iOS MAKING THE iPhone or any iPhone so far totally the most useless mobile phone I’ve ever had/owned & I’ve had a lot of Mobiles over the years that when I get them I test every feature they have to the max in order to make sure there are no problems with it but this time I’ve discovered that Apple iPhones are a piece of TOTAL CRAP and contacting Apple is imposable to do & Vodafone is almost just as bad & certainly not buy email HA?

Hi, did you ever solve this problem?
My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

  • HELP Ideapad u310 touch win 7

    Hi everybody
i got this ideapad U310 touch brand new and it came with win 8, then after i bought it i installed a win 7, it was working fine but the windows was asking for a valid prodcut key, i tryed a couple and no luck , so i found another win 7 from a friend with a valid serial , i installed the fist part, restart and finish the installation and then when was about to restart again now it only shows the lenovo logo and restart ,and keep restarting from the lenovo logo.
any help please , because i dont want to install the win 8.
    thank you.

    hi luifej,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If the Installation completed and the product key was accepted , Then you should be able to log back in.
It's possible that the Installation got corrupted
Try Booting in Safemode by tapping F8 when on Lenovo Logo and see if that works.
I would Suggest do another Install of Windows 7 and Try completing it again,
Note: Use a product key that has not yet been used for another computer, WIndows may detect that the key was already used and prevent you from Using It,
If you wan't to get a product Key You might want to call Microsoft and Let them know you need a retail Product key (fees will apply) as this is a different Version of Windows from the Preinstalled.
    Best Regards

That panic was not caused by third-party software. If the problem is recurrent, the possibilities are:
A stale or corrupt kernel cache
    A damaged OS X installation
A fault in a peripheral device, if any
    Corrupt non-volatile memory (NVRAM)
An internal hardware fault (including incompatible memory)
An obscure bug in OS X
Rule out the first possibility by booting in safe mode and then rebooting as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
You can rule out the next two possibilities by reinstalling the OS and testing with non-essential peripherals disconnected and aftermarket expansion cards removed, if applicable. Sometimes a clean reinstallation (after erasing the startup volume) may solve a problem that isn't solved by reinstalling in place, without erasing.
Corrupt NVRAM, which rarely causes panics, can be ruled out by resetting it.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications for your model. Memory that is either slower or faster than specified may be incompatible.
The Apple Hardware Test, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test.
In the category of obscure bugs, reports suggest that FileVault may trigger kernel traps under some unknown conditions. Most, though not all, of these reports seem to involve booting from an aftermarket SSD. If those conditions apply to you, try deactivating FileVault.
If none of the above applies, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. You may have to leave it there for several days. There isn't much point in doing this unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens often enough that it's likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise you may be told that nothing is wrong.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you know how to restore, and you have at least  two independent backups.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

What happens when you install the original RAM?
    A 2009 15" model identifier 5.3 MBP will accept RAM with the following specifications:  204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
You have installed RAM with these specifications;  DDR3, 1333 MHz.  Should you install with the correct specifications, the MBP will probably operate correctly.
The best sources of Man compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
    Ciao.

  • My 15-inch, Mid 2010 Macbook Pro keeps restarting

Sorry if this has been asked here before but I've been having lots of trouble with my Macbook Pro lately and I'm not sure what to do. It keeps restarting all the time and I've noticed that it mostly occurs while I'm using the Type Tool in Photoshop. Which is very upsetting because I use that program a lot and I'm not sure what to do about this. The problem started earlier this year and has since gotten significantly worse, especially after upgrading to "Mavericks" OS X 10.9.4".
Processor  2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB
And here's the report that I received on the latest restart:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for the reply!!! This really means a lot!  I'm not familiar with that software and admittedly, I'm not all that tech savvy.
If I download this, does this mean I can use Photoshop again (Albeit temporarily)? And will disabling the GPU have any negative effects on my computer?
And I've also seen that a few other people have had similar problems with their "Mid-2010 Macbook Pro's" - is this because of a faulty hardware problem? And is the solution to have it replaced?
Sorry for all the questions by the way. Like I said, I'm not all that tech savvy but I really want to fix this and start using my computer like I used to before. Also, I live in the Territories in Canada and have no access to any Apple Stores so I can't really book a Genuis Bar appointment until my next holiday, which, sadly, won't be for quite awhile.
Again- thank you so much for the reply!!! : )
