"/System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext"
Hello, I have this; "/System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext" How can I fix it from Terminal?
Thank you!Do you see the file in the location indicated?
Do you have a backup of your hard drive and can you find the component on it?
Sometimes running a Snow Leopard updater may install the component if it has been updated since the original version of Snow Leopard. In the end you may need to reinstall your operating system using your Snow Leopard installer disc. Alternatively you can extract individual components from an installer disc using the Pacifist utility.
Kappy: How to Use Pacifist to Replace Deleted or Missing OS X Components - http://discussions.apple.com/message/9044169 and another https://discussions.apple.com/message/17864069
Before doing any of this I would boot from your installer disc and run Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Components should not just go missing and this may indicate more serious issues with your files. -

Getting system extension error:
/system/library/extension/appleusbethernethost.kext
How do I fix or reinstall?Open the AppleScript Editor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, copy and paste the entire following line into it, and press the Run button:
do shell script "chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext" with administrator privileges
If it doesn’t work, throw that item away and then reinstall iTunes.

Please help!
After installing iTunes 11.0.1 I got a splash screen that appears after all updates. The screen reads:
System extension cannot be used
"The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/PulseDriver.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update."
Question: How do I re-install or replace this file?
JimI submitted the above question, later finding that it has been answered by Buller already. No one need reply as Buller's answer seems to solve the problem for others, and I'll try that.

I keep receiving this message, "The system extension “//System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update." How do I do it, please?
I couldn't find the extension to get rid of it.
In the Finder, follow the path given above: "System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext" -
I have started getting this error every time I download anything to my computer. I want to know how to fix the issue so it dosen't happen anymore. The error is as follows:
The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/IOBDStorageFamily.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.
Please help me.Darned drivers. Did you try using it without the drivers? They may already be in Mountain Lion. I'm super wary of vendor drivers for OS X; they're terrible and often an OS version out of date.
To re-install OS X, log into the Mac App Store, go to "purchased," re-download Mountain Lion, and double click "Install Mountain Lion" as you did the first time. You won't lose data (have a backup!) and an hour later you should be good to go.
After that, try using the printer WITHOUT installing the darned Lexmark drivers. -

I get this message often when updating things. I have told Small Dog Computer where I buy my stuff, and they didn't have an answer. Thanks in advance.
What does this mean? ... System extension cannot be used ... The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.Interesting ... thank you! Actually I had that external drive, Western Digital, a while back on my second last? or third last? laptop ... the external drive died with a slew of pictures I had carefully uploaded to it :-(
I won't worry about it anymore :-)
sorry you got only 5 points, can't figure how to give you 10 points. -

Every time I install an update of itunes, I get an error message saying: "/System/Library/Extensions/WkClassicNotSeizeDriver.Kext" was not installed Correctly. Has any one had it? Can you help me?
Find out what that third party software the kext file belongs to and update or use the developers method to uninstall the third party software responsible for it.
I suspect it's a iTunes extension perhaps?
You also can use the manual method of Finder > Go > Computer and opening your drive, then your System/Library/Extensions folder and looking for the file and moving it out onto the desktop, you will need to be in Admin user and use your password, then reboot to clear the random access memory. However this method doesn't remove the parent program you still need to do that.
How to uninstall/install software on your Mac
The kext file wasn't loaded, so it's not running, but removing it from the Extensions folder or uninstalling what put it there will solve your notification problem as that's all it appears to be. -
What does this mean? What should I do?

Trying to reinstall MX882 Canon printer after upgrading to OSX Mavericks. Printer will not print and I get a message "The system extension "/System/Library/

What do I do and where is this extension?beverly216 wrote:

I would recommend you download and install the OS X 10.9.5 Combo Update.
That file is part of the operating system and it is located where the error shows, i.e. HD > System > Library > Extensions. It would seem that when you updated, this file and maybe others have not updated correctly. So running the Combo Update may help resolve this. -
Received following message during installation of an iTunes update today (9/16/14): System extension cannot be used. The system extension “//System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. What is to be done about it?
Thanks for the reply. I'm not experienced in the inner workings of the iMac system and its programs, so please follow my train of thought as I try to find and understand your reply.
You wrote that I should check out "Please see - AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext error on installing iTunes update" and I did so.
There I found your reply of 9/1014 7:06 PM to j'ski stating: "There is a larger thread here which you may want to follow - system extension cannot be used AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext ."
And an earlier Post by Greg Earle of 9/10/14 5:57 PM stating: " You would have been better off doing open /System/Library/Extensions and then finding the AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext kernel extension icon in the Finder window that came up and moving it to the Trash."
And a subsequent Post on 9/15/14 at 2:59 PM by Rob Maurer stating: "This method worked perfectly for me. I am on a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion. Dragged the kext file to trash (I use EasyFind. Found the file, Revealed in Finder, dragged to Trash, entered admin password when requested). Downloaded iTunes 11.4 from the website. Installed from that download. Checked for that kext file in EasyFind again and found it had a creation date of 7/29/14 (the trashed one had a creation date from 2009). No more error messages. ITunes opens fine. Everything good. Will not update on my MacBook Pro until they fix this issue.
All of which leave me wondering - what is your answer/recommendation? Do I drag the kext file to trash, download iTunes 11.4 from the website and install it from that download, check for that kext file again to see if it has a later date than the initial one? And, if so, seed if iTunes opens okay or not? And if so, do not update iTunes again until Apple fixes whatever is wrong? -
Hopefully, i can get some help in resloving the issue below. i updated my harddrive at Techserve and have been getting this message evertime i try to install a new software. Help...
The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update. That is a third-party extension, so I would reinstall that software unless you wish to try repairing the permissions on the extension yourself using the Terminal.
