System Monitoring old entries still visible
Hi SolMan Experts,
We are using System Monitoring for more or less a year now to monitor our PRD systems.
Now we have deactivated the monitoring from one system (as it will disappear) - system X, but the monitoring entries are still visible in one of our other systems - system Y - as they were sharing the same server.
This is of course annoying as the summary icon (green, red, yellow or gray) is always showing gray now for system Y, because system X is not there any more but SolMan still tries to monitor those entries.
I already activated the monitoring for system X in SolMan and removed the entries manually, but in the monitoring of system Y these entries of system X still appear.
Does anyone of you has an idea how to fix this?
Thanks a lot in advance...
Roel
Hi,
We managed to fix it with this note: 1573639 - SolMan Monitoring - Open Alerts cannot be confirmed
Hope it helps.

Old old site still visible from certain wifi locations?!
Hi,
I find this very weird. I created a website a while back using iWeb, and published it. I then re-vamped it as it didn't work properly, and published it to MobileMe but with a personal domain.
This has worked great for a couple of years now, but I have discovered that when I try to visit the site using safari and firefox sometimes I am taken to the defunct old site (which should no longer exist) and not to the new site. This only seems to happen when, like now, I am using a hotel wifi connection. When I visit the site in the internet cafe around the corner it works fine and goes to the new site.
I also have web forwarding on a similar URL to my personal domain and this also forwards to the old site under the circumstances outlined above.
How can I get rid of the old site and/or just get people to see the new site and not the old broken one!
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks so much - it is making my head hurt!Sorry to pester you further about this. It was all working fine last night. Tonight the old phantom site is back, and I have no idea where it is coming from. I thought I had deleted it all.
On MobileMe, I click on the iDisk icon, and I see nothing in the file called "sites" but all my website stuff seems to be in a file called "web" which seems fair enough. There is also an iWeb icon on the sidebar, and when I click on that I see the pages from my new website...nowhere can I see the old site. So how come I am still getting taken there?
Help!
Can I wipe everything from the iDisk web bit, and then start again?
Thanks. -
In system monitoring, CCMS absolete now ? or we still use it ?
Hi Seniors, I have a doubt in system monitoring. Now Solution manager is used for system monitoring. So is CCMS absolete now ? or we still use it ? Could you please clariy this. Thank you, Sri
Mr Sri
Solution manager can be used for central system monitoring and this still uses the ccms data of monitored system to monitor centrally. CCMS can still be used to monitor your system locally. This way CCMS is not obsolete.
If the concept is cleared pls award points.

System monitoring, open tasks are no longer visible in Tcode DSWP
Hello!
I have patched my Solution Manager with the newest support packages and have the problem with system monitoring, open tasks. All the systems have a long_sid.
I have implemented the SAP notes 1065285 and 1076772, but it was not sucessfull.
<b>As well as open tasks as system monitoring are no longer visible in the Tcode DSWP.</b>
Has some one the same problem or can help me to solve this problem?
Thank you very much

ThomHello Thom,
did have a look at SAP Note 1038134?
If you are using Solution Mnager roles for System Monitoring the authorization check has changed and you need to maintain authorization object S_SOLM_ACT.

Gnome-system-monitor mislabels root partition
Since the recent Gnome 2.30.2 upgrades the other day, Gnome System Monitor has oddly started mislabeling my root partition in the "file systems" tab. Every other partition is labeled as "/dev/sda2," "/dev/sda5," etc. But my root partition is labeled "/dev/disk/by-uuid/42d32269-85ca-4567-a3ha-71hj8e0f7838." So the mode of labeling is not consistent, using one type of label for every partition and another type just for my root partition.
The problem with this is that the columns are automatically resized to fit the entire length of the uuid label, pushing information I want to see off screen and forcing me to scroll over to see it or resize the window or or resize the column every time, etc..
I see that the gnome-system-monitor package is still at 2.28.1, so it wasn't upgraded. What could cause this? It's an annoying bug and was not a problem before I did the 2.30.2 upgrades yesterday. I also notice that the Gnome Disk Utility and Gparted do not do this; they label my root partition /dev/sda1.
Last edited by cb474 (2010-06-24 05:09:31)gnome-system-monitor uses libgnomesu for this. It's a library that does the same things as sudo does.

No SID -Database visible under Operations: System Monitoring
Hi!
I successfully set up the System Monitoring for one satellite system with SAP DB.
I integrated DB via tcode SM59 and created the alert monitor.
After this I created the User Defined alerts in System Monitoring Setup.
The prooblem now is I cannot see the appropriate component <SID>-Database under Operations: System Monitoring.
Has some one experience dealing with this problem?
Thank you very much!

Old graphics are still visible after repaint().
I'm using a sprite which I, in a timer task scheduled at fixed rate, is moved a little bit and the the repaint method is invoked on the canvas which invokes paint on the sprite. Things work fine, the sprite is painted on its new position, however, the graphics painted in the former paint() invocations are still visible on the screen. Is there a sleek way to disable this behaviour?
i have a similar problem...
uhm, my sprites have 2 frames, the first one is the sprite pic, and the second is a point, one pixel, so if i select the second one and repaint, it should "disapear", the problem is, i change the selected frame, and then repaint while runnin the thread, but nothing happens =( -
System Monitoring - add SAP PI 711 system
All,
I'm facing problems when I want to add the ABAP stack of my SAP PI 7.11 system...
I use Monitoring Setup Guide (CEN SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP 1, SPS 08) to do my setup --> Entering Monitored ABAP Systems with Release SAP NetWeaver 7.1 in ST03G.
Using transaction RZ21--> technical infrastructure --> Configure central system --> create remote monitoring entry.
Next, I choose for DualStack for the component type to be monitored. I fill in all the necessary data and save the entry.
Nothing happens and I do not see the system appearing in the system overiew list.
For single-stack ABAP systems, no problems appear and I can add them.
Please advice.
Thanks.Dear Dimitri,
The problem is that these products
01200314690800000134 -- 9 -- I -- C
01200314690800000134 -- 34 -- I -- C
These products will need to be reverted to S ( SAP BASIS) from C (NON_SAP BASIS)
Since these are primary keys, you will need to copy and change the + existing record, and then delete the old one.
Once this is done, you will have to perform the following:
Call transaction SMSY. Chose System Groups and Logical Components.
Expand 'Logical Components' - 'SAP NETWEAVER'. Expand the product
instances 'Mobile Infrastructure' and 'Process Integration'. For all
logical components that have systems repeat the following procedure.
1. Check if the logical component is used in solutions using the where
used button. If no, you can continue with the next one.
2. If yes, note which systems are assigned to which role.
3. Go to change mode and remove the systems from the logical component
by selecting system SPACE with the value help.
4. Save. Check if a warning says that System monitoring is active.
5. Add the same systems again.
6. Save.
7. If system monitoring was active in a solution the customer should
run the system monitoring setup for the solution again.
If you are not comfortable making these changes, you can raise a message with SAP.
However once this is done, then the SIDs will be offered and selectable.

Monitoring/Alerting Set up options in SM - System Monitoring
Comrades
When configuring Solution monitoring in SM 4.0 for our lanscape the customised CCMS monitor set (created in RZ20 of Target Sysem) needs to be imported during set-up system monitoring process
1.Is it possible to import the customised CCMS context in solution monitoring during set up?
2.In the current system monitoring configuration certain DB related monitors are not visible (displayed) though they are configured properly is something to be done ?
Also looking on the following alerting options E-mail,SMS and SNMP Traps from the SM 4.0.My understanding is E-mail and SMS are based on Central autoreaction methods on the Alert Monitor.
3.Is it possible to configure E-mail and SMS without CCMS Agents on Target Systems ? and Is there a way of configuring E-mail and SMS other than Central Auto Reaction Methods ?
4.Are there any prerequistes (Agents, Software, packages ) for configuring SNMP Traps from SM ?
I have done some reading and searching on these points and pretty unclear on these aspects.Kindly share your knowledge on this area.
Kindly Respond
Many a Thanks
GnanaI managed to set up an account manually on the C7 but I had to trick the email application by entering an invalid email address and password. After it could not find my account it then opened up all the settings and permitted me to add the manual IMAP settings, reply to address and other details. After I committed the settings, the phone recognised the account as a gmail account and it locked down all the settings again so I could not go back and change them if wrong.
I was quite chuffed with myself for seemingly resolving all my issues.....but on using the new account settings I could not sync the gmail sent / bin folders. All the other folders synchronised fine and when I send email it has the correct reply to address. Strangely this matches the best results I obtained when connecting using the Mail for Exchange settings so am no further forward. I am a little confused by this as when I let the phone set up the Gmail account on it's own it can sync everything.....but I just can't
I am now hoping that the new software update (PR1.2) gets email working a little better....well when I eventually get it hehe. -
System Monitoring - Solman 7 EHP1
Hi
Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 / Windows 2008 / Oracle
Satellite System R/3 Enterprise extn set 110 / Solaris on Sparc / Oracle
I am having trouble configuring System monitoring on solution Manager. Here is what I have done
Added the satellite system to SLD, Configured data collector (RZ70) in the satellite system, Pushed data from SLD to SMSYS (automatic transfer).
Installed CCMS agent + CCMSPING agent in satellite system. Checked connectivity in solman with RZ21. Connectivity is fine.
Created Monitor sets and monitors in CCMS for monitoring satellite system. Client data is visible in CCMS.
Created a solution in DSWP. Created logical component in SMSY. Assigned the logical component to the solution. Now I can see the data in DSWP.
Here are my questions
==================
1. In DSWP, everytime I have to view data, I have to click on "Setup System Monitoring" to view the alerts in the satellite system
I see a red alert reading for instance availability. Similarly,
In the system monitoring workcenter, I see the status of both the solution manager and the satellite system greyed out with a cross. When I move my mouse over it, it reads, no CCMSPING data available.
Any idea as to why this happens?
2. For what I see after I click on "Setup System Monitoring" I have parameters which I can configure. I see default values for these parameters. Is there like a recommendation or a template which can be used to setup these monitoring parameter values?
3. I have configured the ccmsping in the solution manager (for the solution manager) however the ccmsping service refuses to run. It throws a error reading "The system could not find the file specified". The ccmsping exe file is present in the location stated. Are there other files that this is looking for?
4. While registering the agent in the satellite system, I first registered with the CSMREG id. It failed with the message,
INFO: [SMG:040:CSMREG] connected to SMG, host sapsm.NA.XXX.NET, System Nr. 00, traceflag [ ]
INFO: SMG release is 701 , (kernel release 701 )
RFC Error Info:
message:
status: EXCEPTION AUTHORITY_NOT_AVAILABLE RAISED
intstat:
Go Ahead anyway? n/[y] :
INFO: handling destination SAPCCM4X.SAPR3PR1.00
ERROR: can't register at SMG. RfcRc = 2, AUTHORITY_NOT_AVAILABLE
RFC Error Info for SALF_CSM_AGENT_REGISTER
message:
status: EXCEPTION AUTHORITY_NOT_AVAILABLE RAISED
intstat:
I then did this with a dialog user. That worked. Agent was registered in solution manager. Any idea on why this error would show up with the CSMREG? I am concerned about issues which can come up when the password for the dialog user changes.
I am not sure how to upload screenshots of what i see, probably if i do that, it will be easy to relate to the issue which I am mentioning here. Is there a way I can do that?
Let me know if you need any more information from my side to understand this.
Ideas will be appreciated.
thanks
RaviHello Ravi,
Additionally you will want to look at SAP Note 1175058 - Problems with CCMSPING in SAP Solution Manager, especially
c) Ensure that the message server host name in the monitoring options of CCMSPING and the message server of the corresponding main instance of the relevant system is the same in the SAP Solution Manager landscape
(SMSY). Important: The monitoring options of CCMSPING must not be configured using an IP address.

Solution manager system monitoring configuration
Hi
I am configuring system monitoring in solution manager (Oracle / Solman 7.0 EHP1 / Windows 2008 / VM)
I have added a satellite system to solution manager thru CCMS and CCMSPING agents. These are visible in RZ21 / Technical infrastructure / Overview. This has also been added in SMSY, SMSY when refreshed pulls out data from the satellite system. However I am having trouble with the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER. This is where I setup system monitoring.
Here I find the solution maanger system however am not able to find the satellite system which I had added.
Thoughts?
thanks
RaviHi,
Have you defined and added corresponding logical systems for the respective satellite systems?
Here is the sequence of steps you've to do:
in SMSY:
1) Define server, DB, Systems
2) Generate READ, TMW, TRUSTED RFCs to the satellite systems
3) define logical systems and assign the satellite system to it
in Solution_Manager:
1) define new solution
2) add the logical system into the solution
If these steps are successful, you should be able to see the satellite system in SYSTEM MONITORING in Solution_Manager.
Have you already done these steps?
After performing these steps:
Solution_Manager>choose relevant solution>operations setup>Solution Monitoring>System monitoring>Activate monitoring> choose the system and activate monitoring.
Your system will then appear.
Does this help any way? -
System Monitoring with Solution Manager Ehp1
Hi,
I'm Tomas Piqueres, and I'm working in a VAR SAP with Solution Manager.
Recently, we installed Solution Manager Ehp1 and we are trying to configure it for System Monitoring. When I worked with Solution Manager SP17 I used to go to transaction RZ21 to add the system I wanted to monitoring and then put the SID and RFCs of the system.
Now with Solution Manager Ehp1, when I create the system in transaction RZ21, first I have to set the Component Type to Be Monitored and then the SID, Message Server Logon Group, the client and user are set automatically, and the password I've set to user CSMREG.
when I fill all the entries, I can see the RFCs used for the monitoring of the system. Those RFCs are set automatically:
<SID>_RZ20_COLLECT
<SID>_RZ20_ANALYZE
I can't edit those RFCs, so I have to create it manually. I check that RFCs destination works fine and both pass the authorization test, so when I try to save the system at transaction RZ21, I see the following errors:
<SID>_RZ20_COLLECT_123539Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of SAL_MS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO function: Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of SALC function: Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of RFC1 function: Error when opening an RFC connection
I've been looking for information about those errors and how to monitoring with Solution Manager Ehp1, but I haven't found anything usefull.
Please, Could you help me?
Thanks and regards,
Tomas.Tomas,
I need to configure EWA from my Solman system and I completed the steps (defining and creation of RFC destinations to the target systems from my Solman system). I downloaded the lates ccmsagent file from the market place based my target system configurations.

System Monitoring Issue.
Dears ,
We are using Solman 7.0,SP16 on Oracle 10.2.0.2.
We are configuring System Monitoring for our ECC5(DEV,QAS,PRD) landscape on it.
Now for it I added system in SMSY then assigned them in logical comp as per their role and then assigned that log comp to a solution.
Now when I goto DSWP->setup system monitoring...
It only show me producation server and its dialog instances there not my DEV and QAS server.
So my first question is
1--Do I have to create seprate solutions and seprate log comp to configure system monotoring for all servers.
2-In configuration there are some parameters like programme buffer whose threshold value it is not picking by defualt so when I go to metion in RZ21 there are some option like message class, method assignment about which I am not aware so please suggest how can I configure such type of parameters.
ShivamGo to tx DSWP
Choose your solution
Go to Operation Setup (in left screen)
Go to Solution Settings (in right screen)
Choose tab "System Group"
You'll find your logical component with in it your systems, probably only your PRD is highlighted in green.
Go to change mode, right click the systems you want to add (QAS & DEV) and choose "put in solution".
Don't forget to save!
If all is well, all your systems should be visible when you want to setup system monitoring now. -
I am unable to delete music from my iPhone5 either directly or via PC. On the iPhone the tracks disappear when swiping left and deleting but the phone remains full and the data is still visible on the PC. The music was installed on the phone from the backup of a previous model but with the addition of new tracks I am now unable to add more or update to the next operating system as the phone is full. On my PC the music is still there and but the neither the delete function or any form of sorting/management on the music files is functional. Other Apple products work OK including previous phone, ipad.ipods etc Any advice/help available to get past this would be appreciated.
I think it is 7.1.1 - there was another update today which I've uploaded but it didn't make any difference. It's just the music libary on the 5 that's causing me problems.

Deleted Temp files still visible in certain softwares.
Hi,
I want to know how to get rid of Temp files like (.dwl, .dwl2) or even come xlsx files which have already been deleted but are still visible in some softwares. For example when I do a backup using the Carbon Copy Cloner, I still get the option to choose these files for backup, which are already deleted but which otherwise don't show up in the Folders or a search in Finder.
IIf you mean visible in a list of recently opened files then yes you will always see them. Those programs store a liost of the most recently opened files and have no way to reference whether they still exist or if they have been moved, copied to some other place or even deleted. It only knows what That Program Opened.

Also it may be that they exist in the last backup and since they aren't still on the drive and wouldn't be included in the new backup CCC is asking if you want to care them over from the old backup or just delete them.
