System not shown in network neighborhood

Question

2 - win8 64 bit systems; system1 & system2
Network discovery & printer sharing "on" on private network on both systems
Shared printer USB connected to system1 and was successfully printing from system2
On system2, the shared printer shows system1 offline. If I open network neighborhood <network> on system1, I can see both systems. When  open network neighborhood on system2, I only see system2.
This was working but now does not. Any thoughts. I IPCONFIG both with correct settings, the workgroup names are identical and a ping of
www.yahoo.com comes back clean on both systems.

Hi John,
Make sure you have turned on network discovery:
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap
Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click
Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
Tap or click Network, tap or click Connections, and then tap or click your network connection.
Turn on Find devices and content.
If the configuration is correct, try to access another computer by entering
\\computername in the Run box. Let us know if it works properly.
