System password in WLServer 6.0
Where is the system password (specified at installation) stored in weblogic server 6.0? How can it be changed after installation?
Thanks
Dev
Hi!
The system password is stored in the fileRealm.properties - file which resides in the <wlserver>\config\<mydomain> directory.
The password is encrypted, but you can easy change it by the admin - console. Just select "Security - Users" on the left side and fill out the text boxes for changing the password of the user "system".

I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemit. MY safari will not open, it only comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report. A new helper app appeared requesting my system password to download the helper. Stupidly I input the password, when I log off I can see the download icon for a split second still running asking to abort or continue. How do I sort this?
cheersGenieo Adware is installed. Removing it will help.
If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.
1. Use free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here

Install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button to remove adware.
Once done, quit AdwareMedic by clicking AdwareMedic in the menu bar and selecting
“Quit AdwareMedic”.
or
Remove the adware manually by following the “HowTo” from Apple.

We are installing AirParrot to our iMac (it mirrors our computer on our TV), but we are not getting sound. In order to install an audio driver, we are asked to type in our system password. If we do this, will we be compromising our computer security? TY
Ensure that the software came from a trusted source; drivers and anything else which contains system components will require your password to be installed.

How to change system password in weblogic 8.1 ?
Hi,
Will you shed some lights on the steps of changing system password ? In weblogic console, I changed the password in Security->User and also in the remote start tab of admin server. When re-starting admin server, got this error : <Jun 17, 2005 1:36:59 PM PDT> <Critical> <Security> <l0065073> <doris811_admin> <main> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-090052> <Server installed as Windows NT service with incorrect password for user admin; The password may have been changed since the server was installed as a Windows NT Service. Contact the Windows NT system administrator.>. Any help is appreciated.
JessieI ran the installservice with the new password and received following errors when starting the service :
Program Error : beasvc.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows....
Microsoft Management Console : Could not start the beasvc doris_doris_admin service on local computer, Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly
Should I change password in weblogic console
security->user prior to re-install service with the new password ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

8.5 Accessing Oracle Database with SQL*Plus
To issue SQL and PL/SQL statements to Oracle Database, you can use SQL*Plus. This tool enables you to perform the same database management operations, and query, insert, update, or delete data directly in the database.
To start SQL*Plus, from the Start menu, select All Programs, then Oracle - HOMENAME, then Application Development, and then SQL Plus.
Alternatively, at the command line, you can enter the following command at a Windows command prompt:
C:\> sqlplus /nolog SQL> CONNECT user_name Enter password: password
For example, to log on as SYSTEM using the password password, you enter:
C:\> sqlplus /nolog SQL> CONNECT SYSTEM Enter password: password
Then change the password. You could also log onto the root as SYS as SYSDBA and then change the SYSTEM password. -
Does anyone know how to reset a system password for a Macbook?
Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart. -
Changing the system password after a node is defined in the Maintenance Wiz
The system password has changed since the project started and I do not know the steps to make the change in the tool to the new password. The new password works fine in EBS command line stuff but the tool won't work because of the old password.
Any help would be great!!
Thanks in advanced for you help!!
David BYou'll have to go into the Define Nodes form, and edit the Database Node for your project.
Change the password there, and then Configure Nodes again (using the button).
Doing this will force you to re-run step 1 of the Configuration Category, which should re-propogate that change to everywhere.

We recently bought 3 new Intel Core Duo running 10.4.8 but we have to downgrade to 10.4.7 since our POS manufacturer informs us that there are some issues with 10.4.8.
The downgrade seems okay but when we try to change the date in the Point of Sale system, it is now asking to enter the system password. I tried entering the admin password but it would not accept it or even worse, would give a date that is far way off (say 2037). I contacted our POS manufacturer and they are insisting that we just simply enter the system password that was used when the operating system was installed. Please help!!

I cant remember my system password
I just bought a new MacBookPro and cannot remember my system password, what should I do?
Resetting User Password in Lion and Mountain Lion
Boot into your Recovery Partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
resetpassword
...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.
Good luck,

Cannot find Billing System Password to register for My Verizon account
I'm trying to register for a My Verizon account with my new business phone line, in hopes that I can see when my next bill will be due, or if it has already been sent, but I've not yet received it.
When I click to register for a My Verizon account, I am asked for my billing system password. I have never heard of this, though a search through these forums suggested that it might be the last four digits of my SSN. I tried inputting the last four digits of my SSN, the last four digits of my Tax ID number (as this is a business account), and even my Voicemail password. Nothing has been successful, and I am now alerted by the registration page that my account has been locked and I should contact Customer Service at 1-800-922-0204 to access my online account. Ironically, when I called this number, a voice-automated answering service asked for my billing system password again. After repeating the same entry attempts as I tried online (knowing they wouldn't work, but not having any other ideas), I was finally prompted that if I'd forgotten my billing system password, I should press 0 to speak with a representative. Pressing 0 brought forth another automated message, simply stating something along the lines of "Thank you for calling Verizon Wireless," and I was then promptly disconnected without the phone even ringing for a representative.
How do I go about finding my billing system password so that I can create a My Verizon account for this phone line?If this is a business line (part of a business account) you may have to get the billing pw from your employer. The billing pw is normally the last 4 of the account owner's SSN, which would be your employer, or the company's EIN #. Depending on how the account is set up, you may not be able to have an account for your number, but I'm not sure on that point.

Starting up a database when I forgot the sys and system password
Hi,
I want to startup up a database from Oracle Entreprise Manager. I forgot the sys and system password.
If I give the command:
orapwd file=orapwSDB01 password=test entries=100
can I give the password "test" to sys and then to connect with sys with password test as sysdba, and then to startup the database? Are any problems with this command?
Thank you,
MihaelaHi,
I have not done this myself, but YES, according to the documentation, thats correct.
ORAPWD FILE=mypwdfile PASSWORD=syspass ENTRIES=10
will set the password of SYS to syspass. And you can use the same further.
But here, you should be in oracle user or the user which owns the Oracle installation.
Also, OS authentication is always supperior than any other authentication.

I have been looking for awhile,.. and I haven't found this one yet..
I reinstalled weblogic.. (for reasons unmentionable, like deleting things
accidentally, etc.. )
I had the chance to specify a new system password. After realizing that it
likes to show me plain text when I start it via. scripts, or when it prompts
me.. plain text again, I chose to use the password 'password' instead of my
original "high security" password I had used. The problem now is that the
service that was installed is being denied access to start weblogic. It
seems to be using the old password. I can uninstallNtService, restart, and
installNtService, but it fails again. It's as if the password data is being
cached or stored somewhere. I'd like to change this!!....
I searched all the obvious places, (looking for plain text, of course) for
my old password,... the registry, WINNT, .. the wlogic6 folder.. Couldn't
find where it stores it. It's probably encrypted, though.. So.. my
question.
How do I change the password that the WebLogic service uses to startup
WebLogic?
Thanks is advance,
Sean Aitken

Can the system password be suppressed?
I am starting admin and managed server using WLS6.1 on Solaris. The java process
that runs the server lists all of the arugments, including -Dweblogic.management.password=<password>.
My company sees this as a security risk. Is there a way to suppress the password
from being displayed, or encrypt it, when viewing the process for the servers? (ps)
Thanks! If you do not specify the system password in your script, you will be prompted
for a password at server startup and it's not shown in clear text
Can you give it a try and let us know
