Re: Changing desktop pictures locks system preferences. Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)   This is very similar to my issue:
When I select System Preferences from the Apple System Preferences menu, both laptop and extended monitor screens immediately jump to the Change background/screen windows and locks me there with the spinning beach ball, while the text on the Change screens reads, "Loading ....".  Then I have to move to Activity Monitor and Force Quit System Preferences which indicates in parens "System Preferences no longer responding."
I have tried LInc's solution re finding both plist files:  Caches/com.apple.systempreferences  which I cannot find;
I have found and moved the following item to the Desktop:
Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Retesting by launching System Preferences again produced the same results. I then replace the Desktop's plist file where it came from.
BTW:  The standard Utility Disk checks indicate no errors.
I'm stuck. Any more ideas?
Thanks.

  • System Status Lock

In my company I am creating project, with reference to WBS / Activity we are creatin Purchase order. We want a temporary status in project by virtue of which we can avoid any further PO against the particular project. How to achieve this ?
I tried to do this with lock status in PS but although I set up Lock for Header level WBS still I can make PO against the project.
Wht is significance of system stastus lock ?
    Pl suggest.
    Regds

You can either use user status for controlling this, I've mentioned about how this needs to be done is previous post, link below:
    Re: Project Purchase order
Else you can set Lock Account Assignment  for the WBS, this will stop PO creation against the WBS.

  • Cross system object lock -how to build up lock entries for existing request

    Hello,
we implemented ChaRM for some years and  intend to activate cross system object lock (CSOL), now.
But there are a lot of existing transport requests, which have not been imported to productive system, yet.
It would be very helpful to create lock entries for objects, which are assigned to those transport requests.
Does anyone know any standard report for this purpose?
Thanks a lot for any hint.
    Best regards
    Horst

If anyone else needs that feature:
Report TMW_TRKORR_LOCK_UPDATE (executed in satellite system) will lock the objects of a transport request in solution manager system.

  • *** System Prefs Locking Up ***

Anybody having problems with System Prefs locking up when left open for a while? I have to force quit it.
    Am running 10.4.10
    Mac Pro 2.66Ghz

I know this sound general, but did you repair your permissions? Create a different user account, and see if it still does it. It probably won't.

  • System wide Lock timeout

    Hi,
I'd like to set a system wide lock timeout to 10 secs, i est I want that if a transaction waits for a row more than 10 seconds, the Oracle forces a ROLLBACK!
Looking in the documentation I found the trigger:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER resumable_default_timeout AFTER SUSPEND ON DATABASE BEGIN DBMS_RESUMABLE.SET_TIMEOUT(10); END;
... but it seems not to work.
Is there any system wide parameter, or another trigger, or I missed something with the above trigger (I shutdown any session to test)!
    thank you
    G.

    Steve,
your answer is complete, the problem I am facing is that:
1 - I should instruct my programmers of the usabily of this tecnique the SELECT ... FOR UPDATE WAIT n, so the timeout is faced from application perspective, and it isn't so bad, in fact every single query could be customized regarding the WAIT time!
The drawback is that if the programmer doesn't use this technique, the application waits for the eternity.
2 - A system wide lock timeout, in any case could force, in any case, a default behaviour, ...
3 - If you are doing a porting from a different RDBMS see DB2, that implements a db lock timeout, you should recode all the SQL, and the porting needs more review and testing of the application!
    Thank you
    very much
    G.

  • Charm without Cross system object lock

    Dear All,
We have requirement for configuration of Charm without cross system object lock i.e. solution manager will be used for documentation but create, release, import request from the development system itself.
Can we make changes in the functionality and use charm for documentation only?
if anyone has the same requirement can you please let me know steps to be followed.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Sushant

    Dear Prabhakar,
    Thanks for the reply.
Our project has just gone live and issues immediate resolution is being carried. Charm will integrate with system and training is required for that which at this point of time not possible but at the same time without affecting the issue resolution we want to log the changes in solution manager.
We will use the CSOL feature may be some time later.
At present i have not activate CSOL, still the document doesn't flow through. Document got stuck at "In development" phase and doesn't move forward. It doesn't allow to change the status.

  • Ta OC41 - in PRD modification allowed even though the system is locked

    Hello SAP gurus,
I stumbled upon a strange behaviour in our test and productive system.
In the test system transaction OC41 (Change View "Currency Exchange Rates": Overview) shows a popup window saying client xxx has status not modifiable.
So the unlocking with scc4 or se06 poped up in my head.
However when I looked up this example in our productive system, I've found out that I have the possibility for the exchange rates edit even though the system is locked!
Test system is set like this:
    SCC4:
    Client role: Test
    No Change Allowed
No Changes to Repository and cross-client Customizing objs
    Protection level 0: No restriction
eCATT and CATT Only Allowed for 'Trusted RFC'
    No restrictions set
    SE06
    Global Setting: Modifiable
Productive system is set like this:
    SCC4:
    Client role: Productive
    No Change Allowed
No Changes to Repository and cross-client Customizing objs
    Protection level 0: No restriction
    eCATT and CATT Not Allowed
    No restrictions set
    SE06
    Global Setting: Not Modifiable
So how come I can change the exchange rates in productive system and not on the test system?
    Thanks for help in advance.
    Regards
    - Stefan

    Hi Venkata,
Congratulations for your first (and well earned) points!
Really if you change the client as productive in scc4, you can also then change the currency rates in oc41.
To all above, thanks for telling me to keep on searching, I've found some info and e.g. a note 356483, that might help me in the future.

  • Cross System Object Lock with ChaRM Retrofit

    Hi-
I need to know if there is the ability to have a cross system object lock while utiliziing Retrofit within ChaRM. For example I am working with an N, N1 landscape. When I release a transport request in N I need the object to be locked in the N, and N1 (after retrofit) landscapes.
Will this be supported with both Workbench and Customizing requests?

I dont believe this is possible at the moment. As you must be already aware, that SAP releases the locks from the objects as soon as the transport request is released from the Development System. Unless, this locking mechanism is extended to various systems first (DEV and QAS) and later to parallel landscapes (eg:- Project landscapes) it would be difficult to bring in this feature.

  • Cross system object lock (CSOL)

    Hi there,
I am trying to set up CSOL and in the SolMan-help,  they talk about the CSOL monitor in SolMan.
But what report or tx do I need to start it ?
    PS SolMan 4.0 SP6
"In the central SAP Solution Manager system, the cross-system object lock monitor provides an overview of all current lock entries. The entries are presented in table form, and can be selected if you need to delete them, for example"

    Hi Steven,
    the tcode is called /tmwflow/lockmon.

  • Cross system object lock after SP24 upgrade

    Hi Team,
We have recently updated from Sol Man SP23 to SP24. I have set-up cross system object lock (CSOL) in SP23. It was working perfectly.
When we are in SP23, i have made following settings:
In T.code: u201C/TMWFLOW/CONFIG_SERVICESu201D , i have set he conflict analysis as "Cross-Project, Cross-Client". So i that i will always get "Warning" Messge while processing SDHF and SDMJ correction.
In t.code: /n/TMWFLOW/CMSCONF , the CSOL is active.
Recently we have upgraded to SP24. After SP24 upgrade, the CSOL is not working properly. The configurations are same as earlier.(Before SP24). Now if i process SDMJ or SDHF corrections, the CSOL always gives me "ERROR" message but i want to get "WARNING" message as earlier. I have checked the conflict analysis in t.code u201C/TMWFLOW/CONFIG_SERVICES". It is still "Cross Project, Cross-Client" only.
Any additinal SAP notes to be implemrnted to correct this behaviour.
    Your valuable guidance required.
    Thanks
    Kumar
