System preferences desktop and screensaver not responding, how do is fix that?

everytime i open up system prefences and i gp to desktop and screensavers it freezes and idk what to do i already restarted my macbook and all, but its still having an issue i thought it had to be updated, so i updated it twice and its still freezes. can someone help me with this this issue.

Boot to Recovery_HD. (hold Command-R or Option at Startup)
Answer only the "what Language" question, if asked, and do not Install.
Launch Disk Utility.
Select your Hard Drive by Hardware_name.
Inspect the SMART Status for "Verified".
(Repair Disk) This repairs the top level and Boot data.
Select your data Volume ("Macintosh_HD" if you have not changed it).
(Repair Disk) This repairs the Directory data structures in the Volume, and takes several minutes.
Because of the specific problems you are having, do this additional step:
(Repair Permissions)
Many messages may scroll by, almost all of which can be ignored unless they appear in RED.
Reboot normally and test.

Might be corrupted preferences ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file to the Trash.
Retart your Mac thn try System Preferrences > Screen Saver

It looks like your Security and Privacy pane is not loading at all, and is making the window unresponsive when you oepn it. I recommend checking your hard drive for errors with the following article:

Starting up in Safe Mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
To leave Safe Mode, restart your computer without holding any keys during startup.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I can call my ipad with my iphone alll the time. That's how I check up on my kids at home when I"m at work. You just set up to your iphone's facetime setting with your phone number and set up your ipad's facetime settings with your apple id (in this case it's your email)

If I'm right about that, I'm still not really clear at all about what you're doing. Where are you importing these songs and albums from? Is it existing songs files and if so, what format are they in?

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4, and my wife has an iphone. We found out that imessage wont come through from her. After we went to the AT&T helpdesk they said that she could turn off imessage on her phone and that I would get texts on my S4. But then so would everyone else who has an iphone. That won't work for everyone in my company that has an iphone. So what I am wondering is- since I recently got this phone, should I get a new number? Or should I contact ATT or contact Apple to try and get this number de-activated? I'm thinking I'll never get into the icloud account that this number is attached to, but maybe someone has some advice on that?
I just sincerely want imessage to work on this phone and I'm willing to take the steps to do that.

Either one of the two should work - getting new number from carrier or contacting Apple to revoke phone number from imessage system.
That is if your problem is described correctly.

Go into the BIOS and run the hard drive diagnostics test and see what that reports.
Sounds like the hard drive failed.

If this is happening with one or two specific sites, those site may have been hacked, or they may simply be bad sites.
