System preparation tool 3.14 fatal error

I am on a Toshiba Portege z835 p372. I had to recover Windows 7 because it wouldn't boot. In doing so, as it began setting up for the first time, I received an error from the system preparation tool 3.14. It says that
"C:\windows\system32\VSSAPI.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact the software vendor for support."
When I click "OK", I get a window that says "A fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine."

How do you recovery Windows 7? I assume that you use some sort of OEM recovery tool.
And in recovery process, it uses sysprep tool to recovery. From your error information, the root cause is system file corruption.
In this situation, Windows fails to boot, I doubt if you can boot into Safe Mode or system recovery console, anyway, you can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts.

if you cannot boot into this repair console either, please use an Windows 7 installation media to boot into WinRE, and run SFC command to repair corrupted system file.

I am attempting to run the System Preparation Tool with Windows 8.1 Enterprise x86 on an Asus T100TA. I have all of my drivers and software I want already installed on my image.
But I am unable to run the Sysprep through the UI or Command Prompt, even though I am in the Audit Mode's Administrator account. What options are there? I already had to reinstall twice after leaving the tablet on overnight and wasn't able to get back into
the Administrator account. I get the "You must be an administrator to run this application" message.

I did some tests on my machines and it took some time. I apologize for that.
I found the following rights are needed to run sysprep.exe:
•Back up files and directories
•Modify firmware environment values
•Restore files and directories
•Shutdown the system
I got following error message in setuperr.log if one of the rights that are essential for running Sysprep.exe have been removed, even I am already in Administrator account.

If you need to add a right, double-click the right, and then click Add.
In Select Users or Groups, click Administrator, and then click

Note: If the policy that removed the necessary rights from the Administrators group is set at the Domain, Site, or Organizational Unit level, you need to modify the Group Policy
of the domain.

Fatal Error When Running Sysprep on Server 2008 R2

its the registry keys that needs to change. once an image has been sysprepped once, if you try and reuse this image - alter the software for example - then sysprep again, 99 times out of 100 it will give you this grief
I cant remember which registry key is the trick, uncle google

Bear with me because I'm a complete n00b when it comes to running sysprep.I've just set up a VM the way I'd like it. I intend for it to be an application serverfor a Citrix environment, and I'd like to make at least one copy for redundancy's sake and performance considerations for the users. It took me a long time to get the app server set up correctly and I'd prefer to NOT duplicate the process if at all possible.Problem I'm having is that after cloning the server, I need to run sysprep on it in order to generate a new SID. In some cases, the SRM application cannot continue and must be aborted.
Then a popup is displayed with an error message "A fatal error occured in

The error message is quite general, it is displayed even if a more specific
error message is available.

Symptom
You saved some data in the second step of Sourcing Cockpit using the button
'Save'. You closed the application and started it again.
You selected data in the first step of SOCO or went directly to the second
step. The system display a message: "A fatal error occured in the PD layer.
The transaction needs to be terminated".

Fatal error on trial download?

Trying to download FM 10/Windows from the download page, and get this message from the Akamai download tool:
"Download manager fatal error: Could not find the requested file on the server."
This seems to reference a file named WWEFDJ.exe. Can anyone confirm where the files can be successfully downloaded? Thanks.

I haven't seen that error, but the download manager does produce two files, one .exe and another. The .exe uses the second file during the installation.
Usually the files are either in your browser's \Download folder or on your desktop.
However -- I haven't been able to get the download manager to work in Firefox or Chrome -- it's only worked for me under IE. So you may want to try with IE too.
Also, Adobe doees provide free install support; may be worth a call to see if they have thoughts....

Error while configuring system preparation in solman step 5.6(configure SAPconnect)

Hello,
We have recently upgrade solman from SP4 to SP 11. I am doing reconfiguration of the Solman. Stuck in one step of system preparation ->Step 5 Configure Connectivity -> 5.6 Configure SAPconnect.
The error which i am facing is "Email address could not be updated because of the CUA" after saving the entries. I tried disconnecting the system from parent system and run the setup but still getting the same error.
Any help in this regards will be highly appreciated. Let me know if more information is required.

you refer to user-id SOLMAN_BTC (default user-id) used in step 5.6 of System Preparation"
an email address exists for above user-id
After system/client was removed from CUA, did you re-sync system via RZ70 to SLD and then to LMDB / SMSY?
Please re-sync and restart "System Preparation"; hopefully that should resolve your issue.

Good to hear it's Ok
You can remove the need for a power on password as follows - use the code from my previous post where necessary.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start-up menu and then select f10 to enter the Bios menu. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Security tab and hit enter. Use the arrow keys again to highlight power on password and hit enter. Enter the current password ( use the code in my previous post ) and then for the new password, just leave this blank and hit enter - do the same for the confirmation field. Press f10, select to save the new settings and hit enter.
