System recovery error in satellite A300

Hi. Sorry for the bad english. I have a problem. In my satellite A300 Vista comes a blue screen error.
I followed the instructions in the manual to make system recovery. At the boot press f8 and select "Repair your computer". Seems to start properly restored, but leaves an error message that says: "Could not start the program installed. Click OK to turn off the computer."
I do not know what to do. Help me.
Thanks, Enrico

Thank you for the STOP 0x00000024 information, Enrico.

You may be able to resolve this by running a System Restore or Chkdsk /r from the Recovery Environment.
At the boot press f8 and select "Repair your computer". Seems to start properly restored, but leaves an error message that says: "Could not start the program installed.
Unfortunately, the only way to reach it now is with a Windows Vista installation DVD or by downloading a recovery disc from NeoSmart.

  • Windows 7 System Recovery Error 0x800700b7

    Hello
I have a HP NoteBook G62-225DX and it is not starting up (I am getting the blank screen with the cursor on top).
I tried putting the Windows 7 CD (64-bit) and do a System Restore to an earlier point but for every restore point I am getting "Windows 7 System Recovery Error 0x800700b7" and no restore is happening.
Whata is the solution - Reinstall The OS ?

Enter BIOS by tapping away at the F10 key immediately after powering on.Use Diagnostics to test the hard drive. If all tests are ok, try Restore again..if no joy, then a full System Recovery may be needed.

  • System Recovery error

I recently did a System recovery through the Hp recovery program on my computer everything went fine all the way up until it got to "starting services" a message the displayed saying "Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer, installation will resume after restarting" (something along those lines) after restarting it comes back to "Starting services" and the message is displayed once more keeping me in an infinite reboot loop. Windows 7 came pre-installed on my pc and I don't really know much about computers so I've tampered with nothing. Does anyone know if theres a way to fix this?

    Hello Selta:
Welcome to HP's forum yes to your question the fix is do your recovery using your recovery disks seeing that your factory D drive became corupted. If you did not make a set then you can by the from HP's parts store. Goto your computers update page and it will tell you how and where to get your recovery disks. Just click on Recovery Disk under computer picture and follow the links.

  • Making Recovery disc for Satellite A300-16I

I recently purchased this laptop and I get this reminder to make a recovery disc, but the link to the program doesn't work.
When I found the recovery disc program in its original folder it still refused to open.
My laptop just 'thinks' for a moment and then pretend nothing has happened.
Does anyone have a solution for me?
Maybe I could download a working version of this program...?

    Hi
From my own experience after a third system restart a recovery reminder appear saying you need to create a Recovery DVD.
You said you found the recovery disc program in the original folder well, as far as I know there is a TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator shortcut on the desktop.
Use this shortcut to star this application.
If this is not possible then you could try to recover the notebook again and then to create the recovery CD.
To start the recovery process you have to press F8 button immediately after system start.
Then choose the option called Repair your Computer and follow the instruction on the screen.
    Bye

    > Just want to add the disk says starting windows 98, but the sticker on the puter says Windows XP
This is nothing unusual even though you get this message the Win XP has been placed on this recovery disk the message appears because Toshiba ghost image files are loading.
    But back to the reason why the recovery procedure fails;
To be honest Im not quite sure why the Recovery procedure cannot be finished.
But I assume there could be something wrong with the HDD or the partitions on the HDD.
Try to boot from Microsoft Win XP CD and format the whole HDD.
Then try to boot from Toshiba disk again and heck if you could install the XP.
    Check it out

  • Re: Satellite A300 - Error loading operating system

Hi, I have a laptop satellite a300 and when I boot the system I get an error message 'Error loading operating system' - if some kind poster can help me on this matter it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Don

Do the BIOS recognize the HDD? Check this in BIOS.
Can you boot in safe mode?
If you can go in the advanced boot menu, choose repair my computer and select the Toshiba recovery option. This procedure reinstalls the OS.
This feature is only available with a preinstall Windows Vista. If you have Windows XP, you must use the CD.

  • System repair/ recovery for Satellite A300

    Hello,
I m new to this forum, I ve been reading through prior posts to see if anyone has a solution to my problem but none so far.
I ve had a failure to boot in Win XP yesterday (single OS on my system), where I get the Toshiba screen, then nothing - just a black screen. I had an update for Windows running before this happned, and before that I did perform a backup of all my files - just routine at the time. Power/battery is not a problem. I decided to go into boot options via F2/F12, and looked at my options. Ultimately moving the CD/DVD up and even changing the setting of HDD SATA from AHC to compatibility.
I remove the HDD and connect it to a healthy laptop via connector cable to USB. Looks perfect, no bad sectors or viruses (had an updated NIS on my Toshiba, and Kaspersky on the helper laptop). Anyway I copied my personal files off the HDD to another external HDD, as well as back up files from Toshiba HDD.
The internal DVD/CD player had not been functional for a year or so, and I had been using an external one via USB.
I pop in a recovery disc (which I had from Toshiba):
a- while HDD is in its slot or the second empty slot - no change in situation
b- while HDD is connected to Toshiba laptop via cable/USB: says Windows is loading files (so it seems to be alive) then goes to a DOS like interface where it says:
Waiting for ODD to become available
    ODD ready in drive D
    Checking media in drive D.....
and just keeps waiting - nothing happens.
I m sorry for the lengthy explanation, but I do think something had gone wrong with the XP Boot after that last update. I do have the recovery disc, but apparently that too is a no-go at this point. I would opt to try and repair XP (booting) first, but if it comes to it I will be ok formating and installing XP from the recovery disc. I m not sure if I have that option given the whole deal of using an external USB DVD player.
help please, I ve been at this for a whole day..
    Jonesducklng

Which Satellite A300? There is a label on the bottom.
Are you willing to purchase a replacement ODD?
Do you have a Windows XP installation CD?
I decided to go into boot options via F2/F12, and looked at my options.
Is there a USB option in that boot priority list?

  • Satellite A300-243 - Easy Keys & Recovery Disc don't work

Hi, I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite A300 243 and I decided to reinstall system to Vista Ultimate 64 bit (because of the 4GB ram usage).
It took me a few hours, but in the end I found all needed drivers and everything is working fine, except one thing - those multimedia keys (I think they're called Easy Keys). Start, Stop, Next track and Preview track works fine, but the first (by default used for toggling illumination) and the second (by default used for starting W Media Player) just don't work. I have installed the latest version of VAP for 64 bit Vista and in Toshiba Button Support I'm not able to change anything. The list, where normally I'm able to choose a key to edit its function, is empty. I found a few similar problems on this forum, but without any useful answer - lookes like the only way is to use the Toshiba Recovery option, and at this point I'm getting to my second problem.
The second problem is in Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator and Toshiba HDD Recovery tool. At first, before I reinstalled Vista to 64 bit version I wanted to create Recovery Disc, but Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator just didn't started. Then I found the HDD Recovery option, and I read, that this tool is placed on a hidden partition, so I thought I will be able to recover the old system with this tool in case of any compication. So I reinstalled the system and wanted to go back to 32 bit, because it looked like its slower and at first I wasn't able to find all necessary drivers. And what a surprise - Recovery tool disappeared!
Now the only thing I'm missing on 64 bit version is those two multimedia keys.
And the last question - is there any chance to get a Recovery Disc with Vista 64 bit?

    Hello
As you said for the easy keys or also called illumination buttons you need the Toshiba Value Added Package. The Satellite A300-243 belongs to the PSAG8E series and therefore you can find all drivers and tools on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
Before you install the VAP, make sure that all drivers are installed and SP1 for Vista at least. Then you can install it and normally then you can use the FN keys, illumination buttons, etc.
Make also sure that you have installed the newest BIOS for your notebook.
About your problem with the recovery disk creator and HDD recovery option I can only say that these features are only available on the preinstalled Vista version. That means if you upgrade to Vista 64bit you cant use the HDD recovery option anymore and also the recovery disk creator.
So if the recovery disk creator doesnt work you should use the HDD recovery option but this is not stored on a hidden partition. These files are stored on the second partition of HDD in the folder HDDrecovery. The hidden partition that you mean belongs is a Vista feature: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Recovery_Environment
But just one question: Did you already create a recovery disk?

  • Satellite A300 - I can't find the recovery disk creator

    Hi everybody!
Need some help with my Satellite A300. I lost the optical recovery disc I burned when the laptop was new. Now when I'm trying to burn a new recovery disc I can't find the Recovery Disc Creator - not on the desktop or in the Start meny. I still have the folder with all the recovery files left - a folder named HDDRecovery with size 4.5 GB. The problem is to find out how to burn the disc.
    Can anyone help?
    //iMate, Sweden

    Hello
F8 will works just if you didnt change anything with first partition and if you still use factory settings.
"Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator" cannot be gone for no reason. Either you have removed it from the system or you have installed own Vista OS.
I don't want to speculate why you cannot use F8 anymore but fact is that for new Vista installation you need recovery DVD.
You can order one under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite A300 - Cannot install operating system

    I just bought a notebook Satellite A300.
At the begining it had no operating system, but the one at the store installed me Windows 7 ultimate (trial).
Now i have problems installing other system.
It shows me an error and one more thing. When i bought the notebook it had no cd-s, no drivers, nothing, it is ok?
Please respond me, I don't know what to do.

    Hallo Alexandra
I have the same notebook model and at first I want to say that you got good choice. Satellite A300 is supported for WXP, Vista and for newest Win7 too. I have tested performance with all three operating systems and to be honest, best performance is under Win7.
So I recommend you to install Win7. I can help you with exact, step-by-step guideline.
If you want to install WXP you MUST use WXP SP2 or WXP with SP3. Your notebook has SATA HDD inside and when WXP installation starts you must load SATA driver (F6 option when WXP installation starts). This SATA driver can be loaded with floppy disc. Other way you must create WXP installations CD with integrated SATA driver. For this purposes you can use nLite software. It can be a little bit complicated.
Using Win7 you don't need this SATA driver.
Please let me know your opinion about all this.
At the end I must say that you should maybe look forward and learn to use newest operating system and newest compatible software. We all like WXP but it is time to say goodbye. Do you agree with me?

Burn the files using this :
