System refresh PRD-QUA

Experts,
We have completed the system refresh using PRD system data.
part of post processing activity using t-code BDLS and and completed the  Logical system conversion.
But still we observed that in BI system still prd system logical system (as below) name available on the infoobjects, because of the some of the jobs failed at BI system.
RSA1->
Data Transfer Processes
  8PB1CH0338T / PPXCLNT100 -> ZDINXXX
Please let us know how to change the all the logical system from production system to quality system.
Thanks

  • PROD Application servers are reflecting after system refresh in ST03 of QUA

    Hi,
We recently performed DB refresh activity  from Source: Production to Target: Quality.
We have 6 application servers excluding our central instance in production system. But after the system refresh,we observed in ST03 that these production application servers are reflecting as nodes on the left hand side in Quality system after refresh.
Please help us how to delete those application servers in ST03.

I too face the same problem with our quality system after refresh.

  • SAP APO SYSTEM REFRESH

    Hi All,
We are going for a system refresh from PRD to DEV in our SAP SCM-APO 7.0 , Live Cache 7.7,The SCM system runs on a DB6 platform with Windows OS,  and the DEV is similar to PRD in terms of OS n DB, but am i a little bit confused because it looks like in PRD both SCM & Live Cache are in the same server but in DEV its on different server. How do it go about it,please give ur valuable suggestion from scratch
    Thanks,

    Alex,
Those books that you 'found' are classroom textbooks; and they are generally only made available to students who are taking the underlying class.
For these classes, SAP loads data into their training systems that support the classroom curricula, prior to the start of each class.
So, the easy answer is "take the SAP class".  If you take the class, SAP will provide you with a new copy of the course material, and once you are in the classroom, you are generally provided with access to their training system, which is consistent with the course material.

  • System refresh of Prod onto DEV in ECC5.0

    Hi,
Can i have steps to perform a system refresh in ECC5.0. on AIX5.0 and Oracle 9i. Kindly send me the details steps of Pre and Post Installs that need to be done.

SAP Client Copy / System Refresh
Before doing a client copy, you need to prepare the following :-
    1. Find the source client space with the client size custom program which can be implemented using the rel. note:
Find the space of the client - '0118823'. This will give you the size of the source client.
    2. If your are on Unix OS, adjust all the file systems according to PRD file system to fit the PRD client in DEV
client based on space requirements also.
    3. You can do the client copy by remote or export/import client.
Remote method is not preferred if you are doing a large client copy.
        Do a client export/import.
    4. To speed up the export/import, use R3trans export/import for the clustered tables.
Please find the rel. notes related to performance improvements for cluster tables in OSS.
    5. Do import and post processing.
Note: Export may take 10 to 20 hr. for 50gb of data
import may take 4 days and post import will take 8 to 15 hr. for 50gb of data. And it all depends on
        your system performance.
Please refer OSS rel. notes for the few RZ10 parameters which needs to be set for cluster tables to speed up the process.
    Note :-
If it is a fresh installation, do this --
    1.  SCC4 --> Create client no. and fill other details.
    2.  Logon to the newly created client with SAP* and PASS as password.
    3.  SCCL --> choose any profile (preferably SAP_ALL), source client 000 and target client <as created just now>.
    4.  Preferably do a test run initially to check if it can go well.
    5.  As a care check space in databases.
if helpful reward points are appreciated

  • Adding transports to import queue after System Refresh

    Hello All,
Every time we do system refresh from PRD to Sandbox as a part of post refresh activity we need to import all the transports which are in the import queue of PRD(which are not yet imported to PRD) to our Sandbox.
But its a tedious job, as in the import queue many old transports which are still not yet imported to PRD will b there.
So may b around 150+ transport requests in the import queue of PRD, which we need to add those manually from path
    Extras---->other requests -
    > Add. doing same for 150 times. cant even imagine dat work.
So my question is, Is there any way to get the replica of import queue of PRD to Sandbox.
Some where i read like transport buffer in the path  /usr/sap/trans/buffer/<SID> of the system will have list of all transports in the import queue.
So can i copy dat file and replace SID with Sandbox SID and place it in the Sandbox under same path.
Please suggest or give me a correct solution.
    Regards,
    Ravi

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I had read about using script like tp addtobuffer inorder to add the transports to the import queue some time back.
But forwarding transports is a new method i got to know here which even looks easy too. It would be great if any 1 tell me how forwarding works.
Also it would b fine if who all uses this method of forwarding to add transports to import queue do reply about any  problems faced while forwarding requests.
Bcoz in our landscape , transport route is as below
Dev to QA and Sandbox then from QA transports will move to Production.
So after refresh forwarding Transports from PRD to Sandbox, how does this work. Please share your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • System Refresh Trex Post Activity

    Hi All,
Recently we have refreshed our CRM 7.0 QAS system with PRD system.
Everything is working fine but we are facing some issue in connecting to TREX.
For TREX we have only changed RFC by program ESH_ADM_SET_TREX_DESTINATION to QAS TREX system and this RFC is working fine but still when user is trying to create new account or contact it is giving error:
" A Service of Trex Engine was called but connection could not be established for it"
    " Check TCP/IP RFC communication"
Trex RFC is working fine, please suggest is there any more action required for TREX after system Copy.

    Hi Nainesh,
Thanks for the message , yes system is up and running fine , the DB team did a restore of Production data  on Quality again , and i did the post refresh activities again , the issue what had happened last time was we were doing simultaneous refresh of two systems at a time , BI prod to BI qas and ECC prd to ECC qas , we had found a list of tables in BDLS which gets updated when we run BDLS and we run those tables only , unfortunately the files got exchanged , the ECC tables should have run on ECC machine and BI tables should have run on BI machine which didn't happen and it happened the other way round BI tables where run on ECC machine , due to which BDLS failed and the job got cancelled many times, which impacted the whole system conversion and logical update , which crashed the DB( i exactly don't know the reason what happened internally , still searching for it ) . At present the machine is up and running fine.

  • Post System Refresh Activity

    Hi All,
I did system refresh ( from PRD to QAS , platform Windows 2008 R2 and MSsql) the system was up and running fine. The system was absolutely fine  for one day and the day after the DB crashed , not sure what happened, is there a way i can find the logs through which i can come to know what exactly happened. Also post refresh when i was trying to run BDLS , the job was getting cancelled , the job log showed there is another conversion already running , when i checked the tables the conversion had already happened . Please tell me can running BDLS which cancelled many times could be the cause for the DB crash, if yes where can i find the logs for this , if not what else could have happened that the DB crashed . Thanks for your responses in advance.

  • System refersh PRD to SANDBOX

    Hi all
we are planning to system refresh through offline  backup restore from Tape drive.  we don't have downtime so we have to restore backup. for this pls guide me briefly.
    Thanks
    YR

    Hello Yograj
You can use the latest usertrace file which will have all the directory locations of the system.
Ensure you have similar kind of drives on SANDBOX if its windows like if you have drives on PRD as C,D,E,F where oracle data files were located then you need to have similar drive mapping on SANDBOX.
If its UNIX all you need to do is delete all the lines before STARTUP NOMOUNT  and change the
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "SID " NORESETLOGS  ARCHIVELOG to CREATE CONTROLFILE SET DATABASE "SID" NORESETLOGS  ARCHIVELOG
Save the file as .sql file and run it from sqlplus prompt.
It should create the control file.

  • SDCCN settings after system refresh

    Hi,
I am planning to refresh my TST system with PRD.
For post system refresh activates, what I have to do for SDCCN settings.
So that EWA will generate automatically.
    Kindly advice.
Our environment Windows 2003, Oracle 10g2 and Netweaver 7.01
    Best Regards
    Satya

    Hi Satya,
Once you finish the QAS refresh then login to Solution and perrun a "managed system configutation wizard " and make sure  to activate EWA.
After you finish the above said wizards sucessfully then schedule EWA under "EarlyWatch Alert Management" (SOlman SP10).
I'm sure this would assistance you to enable EWA in QAS .

  • Reg System refresh

    Dear Friends,
I have planning to Change my PRD server. We bought new one server. Now i have plan to will do the system refresh. What are the steps are there in SAP system Refresh.
    1. What can i do?
    2. How many days will take?
    SAP Version - ECC 6.0
DB   - MS -SQL Server 2005
    OS - Windows 2003 Server
    Physical memory is - 8GB, Swap is - 24GB
DB Size is -  210 GB

    Hi,
To be on the safer Side Just install the New system as you installed the Old PRD keeping in mind that the OSlevel  the patch level and the Sap release should be same .
Once the installation Completes.you should go with the System Refresh.
Now here are the answer of your Question.
To install New PRD system it shall take 24 hour (appox).Once the base installation is completed you can go with the system Refresh.
Offline Backup will take 2 to 3 hours.(Number of hours depends on many more things).
If you have ABAP+JAVA then you beed to take the Java Export After the Backup.(1 hour)
Then you need to get the backup restored on the New Server(2 to 3 hours)
Then run Sapinst Import.(10 to 11 hours).
Post Refresh steps depends on the landscape configuration you have.

  • System Refresh regarding jobs

    Hi,
I have a query regarding jobs. We refresh production to quality server. So this way all jobs also would be refreshed to quality from production. Now i will have all the jobs but i do not want same scheduling(as of production for my quality) and actually want the scheduling that was previously defined for my quality system jobs to be effective now after i have refreshed the system from production. So how i may do this? is there a way to take a backup of scheduling times of jobs before quality refresh so i can manitian same later having refreshed from production.
Also is there a way to completely restore the older (before refresh all jobs of quality) to quality again may this would help me to get my older scheduling?
    Please let me know.

    Hi Ashish,
When you are performing the system copy with PRD data. There are some pre-steps needs to taken care to avoid issues after building the target system with PRD data.
    1.Disable communication between source systems ( sm59 )
    2. Disable background job processing by running BTCTRNS1
3.Complete message processing in source landscape.
If your target system already exist in your landscape before going to perform the refresh with PRD data  take secure information backup in your target system.
    1.User master data
    2.RFC tables backup.
3.Background jobs information and background job tables backup using transport of copies method.
If you follow above steps you won't face any difficulty after system copy with PRD data.
What you have to do is the secure information which you have taken in target system you need to import in your target system.
I hope it will help you.

  • Java Dispatcher Down but Server0 and SDM up after system refresh

    Hello,
I have done system refresh from PRD to QAS of CRM system - dual stack.Once after the system refresh ABAP is up and running fine but Java is down (Only Dispatcher is down. Both SDM and Server0 are running fine).
I have followed Note 609603 - Problems with Multiple NICs and SAP J2EE Engine and have given the correct host name but the no luck..
    std_dispatcher.out says the following error:
Cannot attach to the Message Server. Can't open port [3925] on host [<Source Host Name>/Source IP Address].
Could you please let me know if I need to do any changes in the Config tool?
    Thanks,
    Subbu

    HI,
IN DB restore the hostname of java system stored in profiles would be your PRD.
Go to Configtool in Edit mode -- cluster --> change the hostnames in Instance profile -- and under other files like bootstrap etc whereever you find PRD hostname.
And otherwise for JAVA system you should use export/import option.
    Regards,

  • Restore SECSTORE security store after system refresh?

When we refresh a QA system from PRD, we first export the RFCDES table from QA, then perform the homogeneous system copy from PRD -> QA, and then import the RFCDES table we saved prior to the copy.  This restores the various RFC destinations in the QA environment.
In recent releases, the password information has been moved out of the RFCDES table into the Secure Store; it looks like this is based on tables RSECTAB and RSECACTB.  However, when we transport the contents of these tables and then bring them in again after the refresh, the RFC destination passwords are still marked invalid.
Has anyone refreshed a QA system while saving the RFC destinations, using the secure store?  If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Rich

  • TMS, profiles after System Refresh

    Hi All,
I have done a system refresh from PD1(old prod) to PRD(new prod) on new server.
I faced following problem after the refresh.
    1. The instance profile of PD1 had many parameter.., after copying that in PRD, sap wont start. So I have commented many of those parameter from the instance profile of PRD?
    2. After the refresh, since PRD doesnt have the transport request of PD1, how do I put those request to PRD?
I have the backup of \trans folder of PD1.
    Regards
    Prash

    Hi,
Rename the file from \trans\buffer\HD1 to PRD worked!!!
-> the only concern if transport buffer is clean up in between then some request was missing in import queue of PRD.
    zcsa/installed_languages = DE
    this should be  ED
    zcsa/system_language = E is OK.
install/codepage/appl_server = 1100  -> this is for codepage installed on your application server
I get message like PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY occured
    and SYSTEM_NO_ROLL occured..
->  are you using 32 bit OS  ?
check Note 103747 - Performance: Parameter recommendations as of Release 4.0
