System requirements?  TimeLine corrupted by graphic images

Running XP SP2 with 760mb of RAM. Current Captivate .cp file
is about 2mb.
I've done a re-install/repair twice, but continue to have
this problem. Problem disappears upon close/reopen Captivate, only
to recur within five minutes of work.

I'm having this problem too with project files as small as
585kb and it's mighty irritating. It's like a screenshot of the
Stage, Desktop or other open windows pasted over the Timeline,
though running the mouse over it shows that it's still interacting
as the Timeline.
Restarting Captivate seems to be the only way to cure it and
after twenty minutes the problem isn't going away. I'm running XP
SP2 on a 3GHz P4 and 1Gb of RAM. I simply don't believe this is
down to movie size ("size" as in Kbs, not dimensions, of course).
I always found Captivate to be a bit weak in terms of
stability when I used to use it. Coming back to it out of necessity
after a long time away, I find in v2.0 that it's improved a lot but
still has some way to go before I could place full confidence in it
like I can with Adobe's other products.

  • Firefox urges me to update my Flash Player to one with system requirements that exceed my five year old laptop's. What can I do, short of buying a new laptop?

    Hi!
Today's Firefox update urges me to update my Flash Player to a version with system requirements that exceed my five year old laptop's (Intel Core Duo, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz with Intel Integrated GM Accelerator 950 GM).
I am already considering dropping back to Flash Player 9 because of the system requirement issue (and seeing blank image boxes at bhg.com). Is Firefox 6.0.2 compatible with Flash Player 9?
What else can I do, short of buying a new laptop? Surely others have the same issue?

  • Upgrade MacPro1,1 with ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB and Open GL 1.7.7. to recommended system requirements for heli simulator: OpenGL Version 2.1 compatible 3D-graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI with 512MB.

I want to install a helicopter simulator into my MacPro1,1 with ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB and Open GL 1.7.7. Recommended system requirements for the heli simulator are: OpenGL Version 2.1 compatible 3D-graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI with 512MB (at least as fast as NVIDIA 8600, 9400 or ATI Radeon HD 2400). Is there such a graphics card available that will work in my Mac Pro?

Are you really still running 10.6.3? you will need 10.6.5+ so do that and make a clone.
ATI 5770 from Apple Store - like 1000s of others have done and in the comments section on the store page.

  • Error: The installed graphics card does not meet the minimum system requirements by Aperture

I have a Mac Pro 3.1 10.5.8 and Aperture 2.1.4.  My NVida 8800gt with 512 mb was over heating so I brought and install the ATI radeon hd 5770 to replace it.  Now when I try to start Aperture I get this message "Error: The installed graphics card does not meet the minimum system requirements by Aperture".  All other software works fine, ie photoshop elements and Safari.  When I install my old card aperture will open with no problem, but of course the card will overheat within 10 mins and I will have no video.  I have search on google with no luck.  Will upgrading to Aperture 3 fix this problem?

    5770 requires 10.6.5.
The 8800GT - there is the 350* bake in over 10 minutes - 50% or better chance
you can find 8800GT on http://myworld.ebay.com/macvidcards/

  • CS6 System Requirements + Hardware Questions

I am in hope that someone who is knowledgeable regarding hardware can confirm that my computer would meet the system requirements for CS6. I tried to get some answers via Adobe Chat, but the person was not that helpful.
I have an old Mac Pro 1,1 Dual-Core Intel Xeon 3 GHz – vintage around 2007. The graphics card is the original NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT. I see that the system requirements for CS6 state, “Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0.” My knowledge of hardware is perhaps not as good as some, but I don’t seem to be able to find anything about the above on my computer. In Photoshop preferences (I have Design Premium CS5) under “GPU Settings” I do have “Enable OpenGL Drawing” selected and upon clicking the “Advanced Settings …” button it shows that I can only do “Mode: Basic” OpenGL—the other menu options (Normal and Advanced) are grayed-out. I see nothing about “OpenGL 2.0” and I don’t find anything about “Shader Model 3.0.” I also don’t know anything about the required “Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or 1.6.” I have been seriously considering purchasing the upgrade to CS5.5 that would allow for the automatic upgrade to CS6.
I realize that my computer is old and would like something newer and faster, but money is an object for me. Ideally, I would like another Mac Pro, but with all the rumors about that model being discontinued, I am not clear as to what I should do. I personally cannot make up my mind as to whether or not it would be wise to put any more money into my present computer. I only have 5GB of RAM and wonder if it would be that helpful to purchase more on a somewhat older Mac. I have also seen that OWC has an AIT Radeon HD 5770 graphics card for $269.99. I don’t know if that would make much of a difference or could present problems. At times I wonder if my hard drive might be slowing down, but I am not sure of that. Most things still work well, but I was frustrated when doing some 3D in Illustrator. If I so much as wanted to move an object, the entire image would disappear for one or two seconds in order to re-draw. Again, I don’t know enough as to whether or not the addition of more RAM and a new graphics card would make that much of a difference.
Perhaps I should wait to see what comes about with the Mac Pros or if and when there is a replacement. I have to admit that at times I consider going back to PCs in that Macs seem to be so over-priced. One time I was considering getting a laptop and looked at one of the lower-priced Macbook Pros. I then checked out the HP site and the laptop that I could get for the same amount was amazing. The HP had a bigger, higher resolution screen, more RAM, 3D (with glasses) and more. The difference was stark.
Anyway, I am sorry for this very long post and apologize to anyone who might have waded through it. Hopefully, it wasn’t too boring; some people find hardware interesting. Also, for me, typing is easy and the words just sort of “fly.” I would appreciate any kind help/advice that might be available.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Minimum system requirements for Aperture installation

I've just downloaded the trial version of Aperture, but it won't install on my G4 desktop running OSX 10.4.8. Looking at this discussion, I'm getting the impression that nothing short of a supercomputer with RAM sufficient for the Cray weather forcasting computer at Bracknell will be sufficient to allow installation of aperture.
I'll be charitable and assume that Apple wouldn't be so daft as to release consumer software that has more demanding requirements than Photoshop, but I'm ready to be disillusioned. How can I find out precisely what the miminum system requirements are?

I'll be charitable and assume that Apple wouldn't be
so daft as to release consumer hardware that has more
    demanding requirements than Photoshop...
IMO Apple is not daft, and Aperture most definitely is not consumer software. Of course consumers may choose to use and benefit from Aperture so long as they recognize that it is pro software with pro hardware requirements.
Aperture does have more demanding requirements - referenced to 2006/07 time frame on 2006/07 and earlier hardware - than PS in some ways. E.g., PS fails to take advantage of GPUs for anything other than simple blitting, while Aperture accesses GPU power extensively; hence mediocre graphic cards do not limit PS much but do limit Aperture.
Aperture is a pro application in a new different graphics space than PS. Unlike decade-old PS, AP evolved recently, with the power of 2008 chips and system architecture and beyond clearly in the sights of design engineers.
Managing large batches (hundreds per batch) of large (currently in the 10-40 megapixel each range) RAW DSLR image captures fast is a challenge. As of today Aperture clearly is the overall pro workflow speed king in that process. My guess is that with OS 10.5, Aperture v2, and 2007 H2 pro Mac hardware Aperture will start to really show its competence handling heavy pro workflows.
Pros generally are willing to own the hardware necessary to achieve workflow competency. Consumers have the choice of using a lesser app like Lightroom if they are unwilling to upgrade to strong modern hardware but are willing to tolerate an overall less competent workflow.

  • Adobe after effects cs6 system requirements

    Hi,
I would like to purchase the adobe master collection cs6, but I wonder if my laptop matches the system requirements, specially my graphic card (with Adobe after effects or adobe premiere pro)
    my laptop:
    Win 7 64 bits
    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
    P7450 2.13 GHz
    4 Go RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series
Could you please tell me your opinion?
    thanks a lot

The graphics card will work for normal OpenGL acceleration, but not anything else. Anything with CUDA will require an NVidia card. Read the system specs here and here. What's not listed there, is not supported for GPU accelerated raytracing or Mercury Playback. It's that simple. All that aside, it's simply not gonna be fun to run eitehr of the programs on your system. The processor is just weak and 4GB is not much on a 64bit system.

  • System Requirements for PS CC, is my Windows 8.1 tablet fit enough?

    Hello everyone,
I have this Windows 8.1 tablet/laptop kind of thing in my hands. I have been asked to have a copy of PS. I actually was asked to directly just pirate it, but a 3-4 month subscription didn't look much expensive to me, so I won't. I either will buy it or won't have it at all, depending on the answer to this question:
Can this device handle PS CC?
    Intel Core i5-3337U CPU
    1.80 GHz (4 CPUs)
    Windows 8.1 OS
    4096 MB of RAM
    DDR3 at 1600 MHz
    128 GB of disk space
    SSD through SATA2
    ~40 GB free
    1920 x 1080 display
    Intel HD Graphics 4000
    Integrated & Shared
This is what I'm worried about the most
For full list of disclosed specs: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/pcs/XE700T1C-K01US#key-specs
Now the System Requirements page for PS CC: https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/tech-specs.html
Are the specifications of the device I have are good enough? Specifically on the aspects of Processor and the GPU, which I don't have any at all in reality...
I can always try the product before buying it, but I wanted to ask about it before even trying it.

4 GB is the absolute minmum to launch Photoshop, 8 GB the minimum to run it well.
You cannot underestimate the HUGE importance of having enough available contiguous scratch disk space, as well as enough HS space for the swap files of the OS.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
The rule of thumb I follow to figure out scratch space says to figure on 50 to 100 times the size of your largest file ever multiplied by the number of files you have open.  I have seen the scratch file exceed 800 GB once, an admittedly rare occurrence, but it often exceeds 200 GB when stitching large panoramas and the like.
As an example—and stressing that I'm aware that others have even more scratch space than I do—I keep two dedicated, physically separate hard drives as my primary and secondary Photoshop scratch disks and a lot of GB free on my boot drive for the OS.  I also have 16 GB of RAM installed.
Additionally, if you only have a single HD, i.e. your boot drive, you'd need it to be large enough to accommodate both the swap files of the OS as well as Photoshop's scratch.

  • I cannot insert a graphic image in a new composition: win 7, tb 24

At times when composing a new e-mail I cannot insert a graphic image in the message. I have tried both the Insert button and the Insert icon. This does not happen all the time; but, when it does happen I can't seem to make it work. My system is a Win 7 with Thunderbird 24.3.0.5. I have tried inserting different graphic images and have tried all combinations in the Image Properties pop-up window.
I have closed and reopened Thunderbird. I have restarted my system. I have closed all windows except Thunderbird. Nothing helps. Help! Thank you, Bill Gray

Bill Gray here again. I find that if I open another Write window, then copy/paste my entire e-mail from the initial window -- I can insert graphics into the new window.
What happens in Thunderbird to make this happen? This has happened a number of times. But, at least now I know that I can open a new Write window and get around the problem. Yet, I am still stuck with the nagging question: Why does this happen?
Thank you and God bless, Bill Gray

  • Scanning photos and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 system requirements

    Hello all-
A long, involved question here, so bear with me.
I have a Power Mac G4, still working fine even though it's almost 8 years old.
I want to scan a number of photos for use in a Final Cut Pro 5 project. (I have an Epson Workforce 610 all-in-one scanner). If I understand correctly, the scanner will scan in square pixels, which is no good for video, so I will need to re-save the images in non-square pixels (or rectangular pixels with an 0.9 PAR?). I will also probably want to touch up/re-size a number of the image stills.
It seems to me that I could do this in Adobe Photoshop Elements, only my G4 doesn't have the necessary system requirements. Elements 9 needs a higher operating system, which I can't get because my G4 doesn't have an Intel processor. A side issue is that I also don't have a very large hard drive since the computer is so old (75 GB, about 15 GB free). But I plan to alter the images and then save them to an external drive which has plenty of space.
What to do? I have I-photo '09, but that doesn't seem to have the same functionality as Photoshop Elements 9. Should I try to get an old version of Elements on ebay? Do past versions of Elements have the option of converting from square to non-square pixels? Will past versions of Elements even work on my G4? (I read something which suggested that really old versions, like Elements 2, might not).
Any other options? (Short of buying a new computer, which I don't really want to do).
    Thoughts? Advice?
Thanks in advance for any and all help. I'm going to post this in a couple of different forums since I'm not exactly sure where the right place to ask this question is.
    --Roop

    Hi there,
I've read it can be done in FCP, perhaps an older version of that.
    What speed is your G4?
Have you tried it in iMovie 06 HD?
I wonder if GraphicConverter can do it...

  • Why does my Netflix all of a sudden no longer play? I just get directed to the page listing system requirements, which I meet!?

Netflix support says I have to contact you, since my browser might be corrupted? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, same problem. I just get this same page, listing the system requirements, all of which I meet. I have Windows XP 64 service pack 2, and use Firefox 11. I tried to check my plug-ins, and tried to update Silverlight, but again got a message that I didn't meet system requirements. Very frustrating!!
This is the message I constantly get:
    Instant Watching System Compatibility
    Complete System Requirements
To watch instantly, you''ll need a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:
    Windows
Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Vista or Windows 7
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher; or Firefox 3 or higher; or Chrome 7 or higher
    1.2 GHz processor
    512 MB RAM
    Mac
An Intel-based Mac with OS 10.4.11 or later
Safari 3 or higher; or Firefox 3 or higher; or Chrome 10 or higher
    1 GB RAM
    Chrome OS
A Google Chromebook with Chrome OS 13 or higher

I am pretty sure that is what Netflix uses to display media. Try installing it from [http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/ http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/]

  • Why can't I download Firefox 12 on my computer when I meet all system requirements?

I am running Windows 7 on my laptop, and am currently using Internet Explorer 9 as a web browser. I want to switch to Firefox. When I try to download Firefox 12, I get an error that the setup file couldn't be downloaded. The error won't tell me why it won't download, and I've double-checked all my download settings and system requirements; nothing seems out of place. Any suggestions?

    * It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files.
    * Try to Disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
    * see this article -> http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files#Temporarily_disable_antivirus_or_update_security_software
-> Download latest Firefox from one of the following links:

I have a PowerMac G5 Quad / 4.5GB RAM / NVIDIA GeForce 6600. I'm looking at buying the 30 inch cinema display - now the price has come down even more [$1799].
Anyone know if I can run this monitor straight from the box or do I need to upgrade my graphics card?
I can't seem to find the system requirements [for a G5 Quad], on Apple's main website. Odd.

How can I get the 30 inch cinema display to work with
my G4 dual 1.25 MDD or am I force to buy a new mac in
order to use the 30 inch cinema display.
You need the ATI Radeon® 9600 Pro PC & MAC Edition RoHS 256MB AGP

It has two DVI ports. The one with a small "2" next to it is dual-link, and will run a 30" display at full resolution.

  • What are the system requirements to see an auto demo of windows executable format(.exe)

    Dear all
I am using Captivate 4 for making auto demo's of softwares. I usually publish the project as windows executable (.exe) type. Some of my customers complaint me of the exe file not showing properly in some systems. What might be the problem? Can any one give me the system requirements for an exe file to run properly..

    Hello,
Video and audio will have higher system requirements of course, but it is difficult to give an indication of what is really a minimum because it depends also on the amount of video/audio and on their quality. Available RAM, graphics card RAM, processor, hard disk space, there are so many different factors that are important.
But what is happening with your Text Entry Boxes: are you talking about text entered by the user, or about a Typing object?
