System Resources Running Low

I have a Satellite A105-S4064 model, XP version. I keep getting the following message and I do not know what it means. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. I have plenty of memory left and battery checks out fine.
Message reads:
"System Resources are running low. Close some applications running on this computer."
May not be these exact words, but close to it.

Satellite A505-S6980
someone reopens the computer later, I get a message that says...
You have Windows set to do what when the lid is closed? I set mine to Do Nothing.

  • Job in BODS is failing with an error " Your system is running low on process virtual memory".

    hello,
I am facing an error with one of my job which is running on BODS server. The job is failing daily since last one year with the same error " Your system is running low on process virtual memory". We checked with team which deals with space issue and the space is sufficient enough.
Please help me with this error and what can be done to do away with this.

  • "System is running low on memory" when exporting.

I'm using Premiere Pro CS3 (which, I'm aware has issues with system memory due to it being a 32bit program.)
It only seems to happen when I tie all my video segments together. It warns me to "save my project and proceed with caution," but as I export, it gets to 300 frames out of 12,000 and the entire program just crashes. All up they'd equal 2GB at the most with my export settings.
I've stopped any non-essential programs and applications, including my anti-virus out of desperation. (How clever)
    I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
    Intel Core i7 3.60GHz CPU
    16.0GB DDR3 RAM
60GB SSD as my OS (with 4.7GB free)
And am saving them to a 1TB HDD with more than enough room free.
As I'm exporting, my CPU and RAM are running well below 30%
As far as memory is concerned there's plenty of it. But, is there a way to increase how much Premiere Pro uses, similar to hosting a Minecraft server?
    Or perhaps just tricking it?

As you are using PrPro CS 3, though on a 64-bit OS, I would also look at the Windows Virtual Memory (Page File) settings.
What is the size set for the Page File?
Where is the Page File located on your system?
Do you let Windows dynamically manage the Page File, or have you manually set its size?
For video editing, I set my Page File fairly large, and remove the Windows dynamic Page File management. That has worked well for me, and many others.
Good luck, and I am sure that Jim Simon will Move your post to the CS 4 & Earlier Sub-forum.

  • CS5 Bridge low on system resources

Everytime I open CS5 bridge and work on my camera raw files I get the foloowing error message: bridge low on system resources and needs to be closed. I never had this problem in CS4. I am running Windows XP Pro with 4gb of ram. I have talked to Adobe Tech support 3 times this week and have not been able to fix the problem. Is any one else having this problem?

I've experienced these exact same problems, and have been watching for anything useful to be added to this and one other thread.
I did install the update released by Adobe today (May 27) but unfortunately nothing has changed.
I was interested to read that you did not have these problems with CS4 (as I skipped that version and upgraded from CS3). So, it appears that this is a problem specific to CS5.
For now, my "workaround" is to abandon CS5 and go back to using CS3. NOT a great solution...or use of my money;but I have to get some work done!

  • What does it mean: Error Message "Low system resources" ?

    Hi,
we are using CR out of Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 for a PDF export.
We are able to start a report process and can see on the load of the process that the report seems to be generated, but we didn't received a report PDF file.
We add the following Registry key (depending on CR version) to get log files:
    For 10.5: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Report Application SErver\Server\
    For 10.2: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Crystal Decisions\Report Application SErver\Server\
and got the following error message:

Maybe do you have any suggestions what the problem could be? What does it mean with "Low system ressources"? There should be enough memory, hard disc size and cpu power on the machine.
Please let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you very much for your help in advance!!
    Best regards,

Re logging. What I was referring was the following in  your post:

I think we want to back up a bit here. I am not sure what  "Low System Resources" means or what it's about. So, let's try the following:
    1) Are you able to export to any other format?
    2) Are you able to print to printer?
    3) Try a new simple app and add a viewer to the form. See if export from the viewer export button works.
    4) In the above new app, export to CR report format from the export button on the viewer toolbar.
    5) If you are able to get an exported rpt file, it will have saved data with it. Run that report in your original app (comment out any db logon code). Can you export a saved data report?
    6) Make sure you have read / write permissions on the win\temp directory
    7) What database are you connecting to and what is the database connection method (OLE DB, ODBC, etc.)

  • CS3 "Running Low on System Memory" and crashing

    Hi all
I'm running CS3 on my less than three year old PC with the following specs:
    Intel Core 2 duo E8400 3.00 Ghz 6M 1333
3 Gigs of memory (DDR2 - two one gig chips, and two half gig chips) (max I can have on 32 bit XP, and well within Adobe's specifications)
    XFX GEForce 9800GTX 512 675M DDR3 Dual Vid Card
    Windows XP Professional 32 bit
C Drive:  250 GB Barracuda SATA 7200 RPM
D Drive (where I edit):  500 GB Barracuda 7200.11 SATA
The C drive is 33% free (40 GB free space)
The D drive is 40% free (188GB free space)
The scratch disks are all set for the D drive.
I actually specified this machine for running CS3 specifically.  In the last few months, however, I have been having instances where it throws this error:  "Adobe Premiere is running low on system memory.  Please save the project and proceed with caution."  I usually save then, and then if I perform a few more steps (like scrubbing through video, or moving a clip), it either freezes, or throws an error that it has met with a critical error and is going to shut down.
I don't understand why it has started to do this.  The files I am using are not any larger than those I've used in the past.  Some were shot with an SLR, but their file size and frame size are not and different than things I have sucessfully edited in the past.
I have had the machine to the shop, and they checked all the hardware, defragged the disks, validated that the memory is working, and that the vid card is working correctly.  The also updated the bios and made sure that Windows was up to date.
Right now, my workflow goes something like:  Open Premiere, edit for about six steps.  Get the warning.  Save.  Go another couple of steps.  Program crashes.  Open again, do about six more steps.... around and around.
    Can anyone help?
    LTK

I'm using cs3, xp, pretty much same setup you have but bigger Hard drives and more room on mine...constantly defrag after doing a project etc...keep it fast as I can....  I added memory to my mobo to make 4 gig...just to eek out as much as I could out of the ram...xp doesnt see it all, but I did notice a improvement with adding the ram...
also, when I added the ram it was apparent that of the slowest memory of your ram chips is what all the ram defaults to...so if you have slow 512K chips but fast 1gig chips, all your ram will operate at the slower speed.
when I get a mssg ( only trying to edit HD , as I never have probs with SD footage at all ) --sys mem low, I save , shut off computer and restart and reopen the program.... start from scratch more or less....so all my resources are free ( for example, if I use photoshop or something else while editing there may be memory leaks with some of that ....where not all the mem is freed up for editing... to solve that as a potential cause I save, reboot and begin again....)
after a LOT OF TESTING ( and I mean a lot ! ) I have discovered I CANNOT EDIT HD MATERIAL WITH THIS MACHINE...PERIOD.
It is not powerful enough... and believe me, I tried, both 1080p and 720p ...  after about 2-3 min of video on timeline at 720p at 24fps, this machine is gasping like a flounder out of water.
    good luck
( bottom line ----upgrade to 64bit OS and pile on the fastest ram you can stuff onto your new mobo and get at least one more HD ( at least 1T for your project ) look at the suggestions here for raid arrays etc ) and keep them 1/4 full only if possible...  the more full, the more time the heads are moving... more lost time...

Use "top" or "ps" on linux to look at the memory and file handle consumption for the crystal processes.  You should also double-check ulimit.
It could also be that other non-boe processes are running on your machine and competing for resources.  Also, check if there are any clues in the system logs and look for any core files that could be in your bin directories.

  • The merge process could not allocate memory for an operation; your system may be running low on virtual memory. Restart the Merge Agent.

I encountered this problem on our SQL2012 and I have tried different scenarios (see below) to no avail. I have decided to give up and check if someone here has encountered this and resolved it.
One thing I know, it's not a memory issue. Both servers we're using has lots of memory to spare and we monitor the memory as the replication goes through it's steps.
I hope someone can help me on this. Thanks!
    The Error:
The merge process could not allocate memory for an operation; your system may be running low on virtual memory. Restart the Merge Agent.
    Our Scenario
We're using SQL Server 2012 SP1. All subscriptions are pull based.
We're using direct Merge Replication (not FTP or web sync)
We already have 10 active replications with larger databases. Only 1 has this issue.
Database size is less than 5 GB
Rebuilding the publisher is not an option.
    What have I tried?
There is no memory problem --- we have lots to spare
I have tried re-initialization of the database. Same problem.
I tried deleting the database and reinitializing it. Same problem
    New snapshot. Same problem.
I tried changing the subscriber server but still same issue.
    MCP, MCSD, MCDBA (ANXA)

Here is the result for the sp_configure on our subscriber. We're doing a pull on the server with the issue.
    name
    minimum
    maximum
    config_value
    run_value
    max server memory (MB)
    128
    2147483647
    2147483647
    2147483647
In addition, I made a comparison between the working servers and the one with the issue -- there seems to be a difference in the service pack. Publisher has none but the subscriber is operating on SP1. But still strange as only 1 database is affected.

  • Running low on system memory (PE8)

    Hi all
I recently started getting the "Premiere Elements is running low on system memory, please save your work and proceed with caution" message in PE8. I have read tons of topics and websites about the problem and tried every solution that was described in them. I'm not really expecting a solution, only some sympathy
    What I'm doing:
I'm from Belgium in Europe and I did a month long trip on Route 66 last year, together with a friend. Now I'm in the middle of making a road movie out of our footage. The clips were shot with a Samsung camcorder using the MP4 container. GSpot tells me it's using an avc1 H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec.
I started using these files without thinking, even though 1 minute of footage is approximately 100 MB large. That worked quite okay, but now I'm about 25 minutes into my montage and I'm getting an increased number of the "running low on system memory" message, at the point where they pop up after about a minute's work.
    What I tried:
Then I converted all the used video files using WinFF, into MP4 files with more compression, making the files about six times smaller in size. Now, when I open up PE8 and the interface is loaded, I immediately get the "running low on system memory" message, probably because PE8 is conforming the clips again. Because that didn't work, I put the original files back in place, but as expected that gave the same result. Now PE8 crashed when I try to do anything.
Before I start working, I make sure all other programs and their corresponding processes are shut down, so the computer has little else to do than keep me from being frustrated
    My system:
I'm running PE8 under Windows 7 Ultimate. I have an AMD Phenom 8600B triple core processor with 3 GB of RAM and one hard drive, divided into two partitions with 135 GB free on the disk where my movie clips and project file are. I moved the scratch disks in PE8 to an external hard drive that's connected through USB 3.0. I upped my virtual memory, the paging file is now 7070 MB large, with the custom size set initially to 4000 MB and a max size of 6000 MB.
    Last words:
I'm guessing PE8 is now crashing because it has too much to do reconforming all video and that I probably will be fine if I convert the clips first, and then start using them in PE. I will do that for the rest of my movie but I don't want to redo those first 25 minutes, because they almost literally cost me blood, sweat and tears.
    What I want:
A listening ear, a pat on the back and maybe the one solution that hasn't been uttered anywhere on the internet yet and somehow manages to rid me of all frustration

    Neale,
There is a green-screen video (video2) with a still picture background (as video1) that runs through the entire video.  The still is 720 px high by 800 px wide.
Again, creating the mpeg in for DVD widescreen, no problem.  FLV web medium, no problem.  FLV web large - memory problems.  When creating FLV web large, RAM usage never goes above 6½ to 7 GB.  No other apps running, anti-virus shut down.
    Maybe PE9 can't use all 24 GB?  As a 32-bit app, I guess it can't.
    Photoshop works well, at least.

  • Running low on system memory?

Help! I'm trying to edit a new project in Premiere Pro CS3, and it keeps crashing on me. The footage was shot using a Sony HDR-XR500V camcorder. The footage was given to me on a thumb drive saved as .mpg files. I'm converting the files to .avi format using the Emicsoft MTS Converter, and then importing them into the Premiere project. I've imported probably a couple hundred files or so -- which I've then saved in various bins -- and now I keep getting error messages saying Premiere is running low on system memory, that I should save my project, etc. Basically it won't let me import any more files. I've tried ending system processes using the Task Manager, but that doesn't help? Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks ...

Hi...  I know this is a pain to have to deal with, but basically you have a motherboard with a Front Side Bus ( FSB) speed that dictates one aspect of your memory chip specs.  For example, mine is 600 I think...(I'm half brain dead from heat in NYC at moment )....and usually it is BEST to match memory chips so that they are all EXACTLY the same....
There are also other specs re: mem chips that determine their ultimate " speed "....like how fast they can dump old stuff and get new stuff..and so what you should do is go to the dell site and find out exactly what you have in your machine and then get exactly the same specs ...
depending on how many mem slots you have you might have to throw away a couple 512K chips and buy 2 1gig chips to fill in those slots ( they should be exactly same in pairs in the slots )....   like in my case to add 1 gig I threw away 2 512 chips and got 2 gig chips...which ultimately gained me 1 gig.
( CAS of chips matter, etc )
sorry its not so simple re: just picking brand .....  but its not the terrible either considering the benefit to you...
You might still have to deal with adjusting your "pagefile" and scratch disk settings after upgrading mem...but that's easy and a lot of people here can help you with that.
Just to let you know...I also got a graphic card for my dell desktop with an new power supply to handle the card requirements....so my little dell inspiron became a " mighty mouse "....for a little machine it is pretty much maxed out now..... and I can just do SD stuff....comfortably

    Good luck

  • SDK optimizing for low system resources

    Hello,
I'm temporary working on legacy Pentium 133MHz machine with 64MB RAM Win98SE. After multiple unsuccessful probes with J2SE SDK 1.5.0.04 and previous version I stayed with JDK 1.1.8. It works without errors at least.
    My question is:
does it possible to optimize recent versions of SDK for low system resources removing unnessesary features, modules, libraries etc.?
    Thanks

Video editing via USB drive does not really work... the data transfer rate is too slow... you need eSata or Firewire 800
    eSata Dock http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-BlacX-eSATA-Docking-Station/dp/B001A4HAFS/ref=cm_cmu_pg_ t
My 3 hard drives are configured as... (WD = Western Digital)
    1 - 320G WD Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and video project files
3 - 1T WD all video files... read and write files

You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for easy video editing

  • After Effects does not recognize correct system resources

On my computer at work, I have After Effects CS4 and After Effects CS3. The computer is a 2x2.66 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon with 8 gigs of ram running OSX 10.5.6.
Both versions of After Effects can only see/use 1.7 gigs of ram. My understanding is that After Effects should see as available 3 gigs of ram. (On the identical computer at home I can in fact see 3 gigs of ram.)
I need the maximum resources when working since I need to do longer HD ram previews. In addition at this low memory setting the software does not run right, with multiple memory crashes that should not be happening -- the kind of things that happen when you have insufficient system resources to run a program. I'm an advanced user who has been using this software for over 15 years -- it's not operator error.
I'm hoping someone has some suggestions of things I can do to alleviate this bug.
[As an additional note, the multiprocessing option is also telling me I have 16 processors, when I have only 8.]

    >  [As an additional note, the multiprocessing option is also telling me
    I have 16 processors, when I have only 8.]
This is the easy question, so I'll deal with it first.
This a borderline bug. After Effects CS4 isn't able to take advantage of hyperthreading (which turns 8 physical processor cores into 16 virtual processor cores). However, it can _see_ the virtual cores, and it reports them as being there. Yeah, it's misleading. We fixed it in After Effects CS5---and we fixed it in the good way, by making After Effects CS5 capable of using the virtual cores provided by hyperthreading.
OK. Now for the harder question:
    > Both versions of After Effects can only see/use 1.7 gigs of ram. My
understanding is that After Effects should see as available 3 gigs of
    ram.
Please be very specific about what you mean by "see". Exactly what are your settings in the Memory & Multiprocessing preferences? (A screenshot would remove all ambiguity.)
Have a look at this page: "FAQ: Why doesn't After Effects see and use all of my RAM?"
Also, see this page, especially the first comment on the bottom.
