System Shutdown

Hello,
I have an ERP system connected to BW and CRM.
For shutting down the ERP(unix+DB2) what necessary precautions should I take?
What are the generic steps to be followed in the BW and CRM systems, before I shutdown the ERP system.
Thanks a lot in advance

Note 1076664 - Program for controlled system shutdown specifies a program, that can help you in this manner (with SP16).
For CRM you should check after you restarted the system again, that the queues are triggered/registered again (SMQR).

  • System shutdown during support package import

We were importing a BASIS support package in our system. Then for other reasons the system shutdown in the IMPOR_PROPER phase so...the system now is corrupted.
We try to launch the import of support package again from SAP GUI but we can not, a dump is generated everytime.
Are there a posibility of launch the import from operating system to finalice the aplication of package?what are the commands to do that?
We try to avoid the recovery from backup

    Hi,
I don't  think it is possible other than backup restore.
But already you are at worst case..i will suggest you to check the data in PAT01 and PAT03 tables at database level.
And delete all the contents from those tables then retry to login.

    Hello,
I've a build node that is constantly crashing and rebooting.

  • Finish system shutdown with closed lid

The system goes to sleep after a shutdown is issued (press powerbutton and click "Shutdown" ("Ausschalten" in german locale)) and the lid is closed while the system is still busy with the shutdown process.
How can I prevent the "go to sleep" and let the system shutdown cleanly even with the lid closed?
This happens on an iBook G3 (PowerBook4,1) with 10.4.11.

Pressing the power button for that long would cause a hard shutdown AFAIK.

  • The Previous System Shutdown Was Unexpected

    Dears,
We have Windows Server 2008 R2, while I was checking log files I have found error log in even-system this message"The previous system shutdown was unexpected" even the server didn't restarted, kindly I need solution why the server didn't shutdown
or restarted but the log file showing this message?
    Thanks..

Thanks, how do I know the server is restarted except event log? Is there other way to tell me the server is restarted like commend line or group policy?
check the date/time of the pagefile
filter your system log on the surrounding related events
this will help you confirm if the machine did, or did not, restart.
If it did restart, you still need to determine why.... (again, the surrounding events will often reveal the cause)

  • After Mavericks installation USB extern hd won't let the system shutdown

after the Mavericks installation my UBS extern hard drive won't let the system shutdown or restart.
If I unmount the USB HD and shutdown from apple menu or keyboard combination(control+eject key) then goes system down but without unmount shows just grey display with cursor and never go out. And the after the key combination control + eject then i can see the login field with restart, shutdown button then i can click shutdown button the system goes down. What do I have to do?

    Bump.
Lots of people are having this issue with no real good answers. I hope apple devs are reading the blogs and get us a fix for this quick. I had this problem after upgrading to mavericks, then I did a clean install to mavericks and still have the same issue. I already miss Steve.

  • Background jobs and system shutdown

    Hello,
I would like to know what happens if the BI jobs were not suspended prior to system shutdown? how will that impact those jobs after the restart of the system? I was wondering what would happen to the jobs that were active vs. jobs that were released/scheduled......we we need to re run/ re schedule them again after the restart? please advice...thanks

    Hi,
When you say background jobs, I believe what you meant jobs in the "Active" or "Released" status. These jobs will get cancelled as once you shutdown, the work processes are going to stop.
Once, you start the system you can re-run them or re-schedule them. For BI jobs which perform data-loading from other satellite systems (ERP, SCM, or other BI systems in a data-mart kind of a configuration), these data loads will fail & the data in the infoCube, PSA, etc will not be the updated data (may be master or transactional data).
So, for these you'll have to request the BI-Teams to re-run the data load & batch jobs.

  • MSI NX 6800 system shutdowns

    Hello all
A few weeks ago I upgraded my system...
A7V880  Mainboard with recently updated BIOS, no ATX2 power connector
    AMD Sempron 2800+ CPU
    Soundblaster Live!
...with the VGA card you see in the title and a new power supply unit (PSU).
Ever since I am experiencing system shutdown with immediate restart when I run games which have a high demand of VGA power (HL2, Republic Commando...)
    I´ve tried several things already.
I tried to update the graphics driver with 71.50 and 71.98 from the MSI or nvidia homepage. Both produce heavily distorted Icons and Artifacts in Win, so I stick to my current 71.22. Drivercleaner was used to no avail.
I opened the case fo better heat dissipation which worked best so far. Before this HL2 wouldn´t even run until after the intro, now I can occasionally play sveral hours before restart. I am running Asus Probe which reads the heat on my CPU and the mainboard. CPU temp never raised beyond 60°C. Fanspeed of the VGA is set to max.
On this board I learned, that power supply might be my problem. I already tried this calculator and it came up with less than 300W for my PSU (although I didn´t know, which kind of CPU to select, since mine wasn´t in the list, so I chose an Athlon with similar speed).
My SPU is a BeQuiet! BQT P4-400S-S1.3
    stats are:
    +3.3 V       28 A
    +5 V         40 A
    +12 V       20 A
    -12 V         1 A
    -5 V          0.8 A
    +5VSB       2.5 A
In several reviews about my VGA I read that it reqired a ´powerful PSU of 350W´ and wasn´t sure how to react so I bought this new one (my old system ran fine with its super cheap 300W noname).
The VGA is connected to a different branch of cables than the rest of the system.
You might note, that these problems are all similar to andrics who has his own thread on this board. I didn´t want to hijack his, so I created my own, I hope this isn´t a problem.
So here I am with a system that runs only reluctantly and the new GTA only two weeks away  . Any suggestions?
    thanks in advance

    Hi Sika,
I just completed 2 cruises with vsync=off without any black screen phenomenon so it seems I´m ok here.
Back to my overheat-theory. I borrowed a room fan from a friend and as soon as I´ve got time I´ll test it with my most reliable `system-sut-down´ program Republic Commando.
Wish me luck and thanks for all your help so far
I certainly wish lucky for testing !
I was thinking your problem for a minute and just wondering weather your cpu is running too hot ? A friend of mine had quite similar problems (with AMD processer, lock-up/freeze/restart especially when hot ambient temperature) and he solved it - by removing chassis panel ! I think you should get a program which measures motherbord/CPU-temperatures. One reason for that could be unproperly attached CPU   e.g. too little thermal compound.

  • Run script when system shutdown

    Hi Community,
I know the possibility in snow leopard to execute a script during system boot by using a launchd script located in /Library/LaunchDeamons or ~/Library/LaunchAgents but how can I configure a script which become executed on a system shutdown?
Thanks in advance & Bye Tom

Well then that is /etc/rc.local.shutdown that I believe you want. It won't trigger a shutdown, but on next restart, your commands will have been done. I just made a text file for /etc/rc.local.shutdown to cp from one file to another. Then I restarted manually and file was copied.

  • Policy Schedule - User Logout or System Shutdown

I'm having issues running inventory on these events. Running the
inventory on "User Logout" runs as per the scheduler but the inventory
doesn't seem to be submitted unless the user actually selected "Log
Off". If I set the policy schedule to "System Shutdown" the inventory
never seems to run as per the scheduler and no inventory data is submitted.
My reasoning for testing inventory on these two events backs into a
recent post I made re: real-time av scanning. Having the inventory run
on startup, which is the current schedule (below normal priority),
generates a large number of file opens/reads (>10000). The real-time av
components on each PC must scan each of the files, which consumes too
much CPU time for too long. This results in delays on login that are
    gaining visibility...
In short, i'm looking for alternatives to running inventory on system
startup that still allow the a current inventory to be maintained.
