System sleep and shut down not working after upgrade to windows 10

HiI upgraded my OS from win 8.1 to win 10.After the upgrades the system shutdown and sleep are not working properly.It's like when I shutdown/sleep the system ,the screen shuts down but the power key keeps glowing and also the battery keeps draining.So eachtime I have to foercefully press the power button to shutdown the system. I have updated the display driver . Please someone suggest, what to do ?

I read your post on the HP Support Forums and seen that you are having issues with your HP Pavilion 15-n260tx Notebook PC and the Sleep/Shut down options. It sounds like you might be having an issue with one of the features of Windows called Hybrid Shutdown that is used for the Fast Startup feature. Here are a couple of links for you about Fast Startup, Hybrid Shutdown and How to Shut down your Notebook completely. They also have some troubleshooting steps in them. 1. Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 10.2. Shut Down Computer in Windows 10. If those do not work, I do have some more documentation for you to read and try. 1. Shut down (turn off), sleep, or hibernate your PC - This document is from Microsoft. 2. HP Notebook PCs - Managing Power Options (Windows 8)3. HP PCs - Sleep and Hibernate Issues (Windows 10, 8) Sometimes a BIOS Update will work. You can update all of your drivers by going to the HP Driver's website or by using the HP Support Assistant. On the Driver's page there is not an update for the Windows 10 Column, but there was an update that just came out under Windows 8.1 on Aug 7, 2015 that should work for your Notebook. Another fix that may work is to Run the Troubleshooter. Please follow this link to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. I hope this helps! Have a great day!

The FN keys are controlled by Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. I think you have forgotten to install these tools
You should check the Toshiba page again and download both tools. Start with installation of Value Added Package then restart your notebook. After this install Flash Cards Support Utility. Once again restart and all FN keys should work properly now.

11.1.1.6.4 Repository variables for DSN and USER do not work after upgrade

Hi,
The Repository Variables OLAP_DSN and OLAP_USER no longer work after upgrading to 11.1.1.6.4 i.e they return a connection error when trying to import metadata but the connection is correct if explicitly set without the variable used.
I have tried the following resolution:
- From command line execute commands to set variable properties via admintool.exe /command vartext.txt
Open rpdname user password
SetProperty "Variable" "OLAP_DSN" Initializer "'ORCL.GLOBAL'"
Save
Close
Exit
This script works fine as demonstrated by commenting out Save, Close, Exit and running. But it does not resolve the problem.
The issue is consistent as in the OLAP_USER variable does not work if DNS for connection pool set to ORCL.GLOBAL.
Is this a bug?

Keyboard wireless key not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

Hello,
I am having hp pavilion dv6-6165tx notebook, where keyboard having a wireless button that turns ON and OFF all wireless devices, After upgrading to windows 8.1, HP Connection Manager is not getting installed, as well as Key is not working, key color turns red and white but no action is performed.
Kindly suggest me some solution.
Note: HP Doesn't provide drivers for windows 8/8.1 ONLY WINDOWS 7 for hp pavilion dv6-6165tx.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx Notebook and the Wireless keyboard not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the keyboard.
The HP Connection Manager is something that is for Windows 7 not Windows 8.1. I would uninstall this from your Notebook. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating. It has a troubleshooting tool in this.
Make sure all your updates have been completed. I would try restarting my Notebook a few times.
If that does not help I would uninstall the keyboard from the Device manager.

Sleep and Hibernate does not work after BIOS update X1 Carbon 20A8

As subject title, did a recent Lenovo "System Update" on BIOS and other drivers, and since then sleep and hibernate no longer works, when i close the lid, it turns on by itself after 2 seconds.
When i select Sleep or Hibernate in Windows 8.1 with lid open, it just behaves like a Restart command.
Need this fixed! Any ideas?

Try downgrading to your older BIOS and see if it works again.

Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
Any ideas?

The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.

Windows 10 - No sound and mediaplayer does not work after upgrade

Thanks for the answer- but I mangage to solve the problem my self this time... I just did go to controlpanel - and clicked right button on the mouse - and updated both sound drivers thatI did find in there. After restart of the lap - everything worked ut well.. I am supprized !! Carsten

Hi, My 3G Card stoped working after upgrade to Win 10.I tried latest drivers from Lenovo but with no success. When I open Device Manager the Card is shown as properly installed but the driver manifactire is Microsfoft not Lenovo/Ericsson When I try to reinstall the driver the installation package poppup a message 'No action was taken as a system reboot is required'On the network connections the Mobile Netork is disabled:after trobleshooting on the connection I recieved and error: witch code 36. Which Operator and Country SIM card you are using ?Error Code 36 is regular deactivation. Do a Windows update , Restart then Shut Down System and start ( TYhis Power cycles the Device ) . From your Screenshot it Looks like the Cellular Data is not ON and Microsoft cellular service is in some mismatched state after upgrade.After restart press like in below screenshot order 1 --> it turns cellular on or off, 2---> It will take you to settings page 3--> Connect from here. Dont ask why Microsoft made connecting to WWAN device so complex

I understand the touch screen on your notebook is not detected after updating to Windows 8.1.
This would be the best place to start: Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues in Windows 8. This is a great document that covers touchscreen issues from start to finish. Do not be alarmed that it states the document pertains to TouchSmart PC's, as the steps are the same.
It would also help to know which product you are using so I can give you more detailed information, such as driver downloads.

WRT54G wireless not working after upgrading to windows vista, please help

Hello everyone....
I have a few problems. I upgraded to Windows Vista and cant seem to get my wireless internet working. My router is WRT54G wireless-g broadband router. Ever since I upgraded Vista my xbox 360 will not connect.
I just bought a new wireless web camera and that does not work either because the wireless is not working.
Any suggestions on what I should do to solve this issue?
I noticed when I goto 192.168.1.1 my firmware version is Firmware Version: v3.03.9 does that have anything to do with it? Is there a more up-to-date version that will help?

I have the same problem, and so does my son, he has a toshiba satellite new laptop and I have an acer new laptop, both have Vista on them, and my wife has XP and has no problem getting on teh router, but i have this problem everyday.
Eventually it will all of a sudden show up and connect and start working, then if you laeave your computer in standby movde overnight, it will still work in the morning, but if you shut down comeplety you will lose the connection for who knows how long. what is the fix Linksys?

Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

You're very welcome. See if the recovery manager still works so you can roll back to W8. Please read this guide for how to use it. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643 If it doesn't then you will have to order a set of recovery disks from HP, or you can install this plain W8 OEM software this guy has posted on a link. Bluetooth Not Working after upgrading to Windows 8.1

That is very interesting, because I didn't know of anyone who upgraded to W8.0 with a Ralink wireless card with the BT 3.0 radio that got the BT to work at all.
We tried the W7 drivers, and they didn't work.
That is why you don't see a W8 Ralink BT driver for the bluetooth on your PC's support and driver page amongst the other 11 drivers listed.
The Ralink 3.0 version of BT is not supported in W8.
While somehow the BT has worked in W8 for you, I'm afraid your luck has run out.
Unless by some fluke, HP installed a card with the BT 4.0 radio on your model...
You can try this W8 driver for the Ralink card with the BT 4.0 radio, but don't get your hopes up.

Dolby Home Theater v4 not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi there, I just upgraded to Wndows 10 Home from Windows 8.1; everything went smoothly except for the fact that Dolby Home Theater v4 does not work. I had to reinstall it using the .msi file found in the Realtek Audi folders. I chose v4 over any of the other versions because I like how I can tune the equalizer to my liking and different uses. Anyways, the regular audio works and Dolby is turned on but there is no activity appearing on the equalizer and my music does not change once adjusted. Had this problem when doing an optional audio driver update in the past when I was running 8.1. I do not have the option to rollback the driver after upgrading to Windows 10. Does anyone have a solution to this issue or know what the correct Realtek driver is to make Dolby work? This is one of my favorite features of my laptop and I really want it up and running again! According to the available list of supported drivers for your monitor, there is currently no Windows 10 software published at the moment. My Laptop configuration is 8GB Ram,Intel i7 processor and 4GB Nvidia Graphics which is more than enough for running games like Batman Arkham, Portal, Skyrim etc. These games used to worked smoothly when I had windows 8.1, but after upgrading to windows 10 these games are not working/working very slowly.
