System slow, a few not responding items

I've owned an HP h8-1080t CTO for 3 years now. It has been a screamer. from power on to hd idle was under 45 seconds. Sometime last year I started using Photoshop CS6 extended to play around with 3d. A few times PS would crash when playing with 3d.
At the time I had a geforce gt 545 and was using the last known stable driver. I called hp techs for advice and they were adamant that I try the latest driver. well, it wiped out my system as I new it would and changed the "boot to lan" option in
bios to on which I have change back to off. 
Since that time I have been fighting trying to get my system running like it used too. I first reinstalled windows and saw it was slow. boot time is over 2 minutes if not more. I bought and installed an amd radeon hd 7750 to see if that was the problem.
It only solved the Photoshop crashes. After running extensive ram, hard drive tests I opted for a new 2 tb barracuda to replace the original 1.5tb barracuda.
FWIW: I noticed the speed difference before and after installing windows 7 updates. Also before all this started I had been running windows 8 pro about 3 months after it was released so it's not the operating system or any updates. Any ideas would be appreciated.

As I understanding, the performance on your Windows 8 computer is slow. If there is any misunderstanding, feel free to help clarify with me.
The performance issue can be caused by incompatibility issue including drivers or 3<sup>rd</sup> part security applications.
First, would you please let me know which certain items you mentioned has no responding. Have you see any high CPU usage in task manager when you tried to loading them?
Also, please contact HP again to update all related drivers including Display card, sound card, chipset, USB or other devices to applying Windows 8.
Meanwhile, we need to collect the performance trace log by using following tools and upload here for further research:

    Also, I find that if I cancel my build/deploy while it is stuck on booting the OS and then wait a short while the phone OS will complete booting, and from that point I can deploy to the emulator. It's a workaround, but it works well for me.
    I need to do that on Windows 10 tech preview, which may or may not be simply an incompatibility with the beta OS.
    I'm a self-taught noob amateur. Please take this into account when responding to my posts or when taking advice from me.

  • System wide keyboard commands not responding

    My mac stops responding to system wide keyboard commands such as the Dashboard, Expose and Spotlight shortcuts. It also does not respond to Command-Tab to switch between applications. Hitting the keys for any of these leads to no response whatsoever.
    I have run into this problem several times over the last few months, and the only solution I have found is to restart the computer. Initially, it appeared to be related to the ScreenSaver process crashing. I could look in the System Monitor and see that this process had gone red, when I forced the process to quit, the keyboard commands were restored. More recently, though, this has not been the case, and I have had to restart.
    Any guesses what could cause this or suggestions on how to diagnose it? Thanks for any help.

    I'll answer in reverse.
    When I've experienced the problem, I have tried other (older style) keyboards, and that did not resolve the problem.
    I've never tried creating another user account.
    I'll try disabling the screen saver, but part of the problem is that this issue is sufficiently intermittent that it take a while to determine if this has a benefit. I was hoping to find some more systematic way to diagnose what has been happening. Any suggestions along these lines?

    Very slow responding. Not responding pops-up on screen Often says not connected.

    Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
    Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all. To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

  • Droid x2 touch screen responce very slow and sometimes not responding.

    I've been having issues with my 3g also dropping to 1x and not getting 3g back until i remove the battery also.I did the *228 and seemed to help this situation, but still has a hard time with connecting to 3g. Idk if this a area problem or not.  When switching from apps to browser and main screen to browser, i can tap the browser and getting the indicator coming up so i know I touched it.It will delay like 5-10 seconds and sometimes i have to hit it like 5 times before it will come up. Friday i went to a verizon store and they cleared the cache and installed the dolphin browser. it seemed to work better until yesterday when it started freezing and not responding. Sometimes the keyboard will stay on my main screen when i exit my browser. I have to shut the screen off to resolve this issue. this is my second droid x2 and I had 4 droid x's in the last 18 months due to software issues. this is a very annoying issue and am very tired of the motorola devices i've had. verizon offered me a early upgrade but i refuse to purchase another motorola device.

    "lags" or "nonresponsiveness" is USUALLY a 3rd Party App sucking the life out of your CPU (processor).  Is it reproducible? If so, I would boot into SAFE MODE and test it. If the problem goes away, that pretty much confirms that you have an APP or WIDGET causing your grief ... and time to start Uninstalling things until the problem gores away. the silver "bullet" is a factory Reset - but don't automatically have all your APPS redownload or you'll likely just be back to the same issue.
    Do a Search for "SAFE MODE" in the search bar just above ...  if you can't find the procedure, let me know.

              Hi,
              We are runing a weblogic cluster with a shared hard disk , with two weblogic instances
              on 120.120.120.120 and 120.120.120.121 , this is the stacktrace of the former
              instance .
              By this I feel that the other server has gone down while this system is pinging
              trying to find out whether it is up.
              Does anyone else has any other views on this ? Can there be any other cause for

  • Opening Ai files: Slow, crashing, and not responding

    I started creating an interactive web graphic in illustrator, making sure to rasterize and use symbols as much as possible to make the file smaller for importation to flash catalyst. However, when I tried to open a new project from the illustrator file in flash catalyst, it said there was a memory/java related error. I closed Fc and tired again. Unfortunately, now I can't give the specifics of the errors because the program stops responding whenever I try to open anything - not even getting far enough to give the error report again.
    When I reopen Fc, a project recovery box pops up, saying that my project has been recovered. When click OK, view the recovered file, i see the blank workbench, with my illustrator project's layers listed in the layer's panel. But the page never stops loading (the rainbow wheel on my mac doesn't go away no matter now long i wait), the program stops responding, and i have to 'force quit'
    I can't find any similar problems on this or other forums.
    Any suggestions?

    Try to revisit your AI file and see specially for following:
    01) Have you scaled text just by dragging bounding box of text....if you have more text, more outlines will cause generation of more paths, which will require FC to handle more paths....you may check this by saving a copy of your AI file in FXG file format with FXG Save Option "Save Illustrator Private Data: turned off" and import FXG file back in AI and see in layers panel
    02) Are you using heavy images like 300 PPI or so

  • OS5 - Address Book Slow or Does Not Respond

    I updated to OS5 and find that my address book is not functioning properly. It looks like by MacBook Pro is searching the cloud vs searching the laptop. How do I get the address book search to default to my hard drive, not the cloud?

    First off, do a simple reboot:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    Does this fix your address book?
    If not, let me ask if you have added a Gmail email address in the past month, about when this odd behaviour began?
    Can you look at Options > Status > press the Meny key > Database Sizes.
    Scroll down to Address Book, do you see more than one listed?

  • Firefox very slow and Thunderbird not responding with new HP laptop.

    I recently purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 8. I had been using Firefox and Thunderbird on both my old laptop and desktop with no problem. However, since trying to use both on my new machine, Firefox has slowed down to the point of making it impractical to use. And whenever I log into Thunderbird, it takes at least 10 minutes and more before Thunderbird becomes responsive.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem? Are there any solutions?

  • After Mavericks, applications tend to become slow, painfully slow. Particularly iMovie; all other applications, Mail, Browser (Chrome) and others too are either running slow or 'not responding'. Help, please

    After upgrading to Mavericks, from Mountai Lion, all applications are slowing down. iMovie particularly is painfully slow. When iM is running, any other application that is opened up also runs slow or does not respond altogether. It was fine before Mavericks, can somebody help, please.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches. 
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Home button no longer working, screen not responding half the time, very slow functioning and random crashing?? What is going on?

    I got my IPhone 4 (GSM) a couple of years back, and had never had any trouble with it. As soon as the new updates came out (this past summer), the phone has been glitching out (randomly screen going black, or closing an app by itself, super slow functioning, screen not responding to touch and home button not working anymore).
    Help anyone? Makes no sense why it would just stop working.. ??

    it depends. i had an iPhone 3GS that was not good in the first place, but functionable. when i got iOS6 it just acted weird like yours. Have you ever dropped your phone or anything? Or maybe you should try closing your apps. For the home button. Go to Settings:General:Accsessibility:Scroll down;Assistive Touch: On. That part is hard to explain but self explanatory,

  • Won't go to selected websites, says "Internet Explores not responding"

    At different times of the day, almost always early in the morning when I try to get to my home page or to my e-mail account it will say "(Internet Expolorer is not responding.)"  My computer is pretty slow quite often.  It's about 7 years old and I run Vista.

    Before you make any changes to your computer, make sure you have all your backups current AND a means to recover the system should it be necessary.

    Restore Points - "going back in time"
    Even if you have current backups, you should have a Restore Point ready in case you need to take the computer back to a particluar date / time:

    When you create a Restore Point manually, be sure to first close all extra programs (email, Facebook, games, all browsers).

    To Help with Slowness and IE not responding...
    Assuming the hardware is still chunking along OK, your system may need some good maintenance:
    HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Increasing System Performance Without Adding Memory (Windows Vista)
    Restart the Home Network Router
    After you complete the maintenance procedures that can be done on your computer, you might consider:
    Shut down the computer
    Restart your Router -- not a Reset, just switch off the router, wait a few seconds and then switch it back on.
    Boot the computer and log in
    System Protection
    Make sure you have some kick-strong Anti-Virus software running and complete a full scan to make sure there are not any virus bits or malware on the computer.  If you need a good, free Anti-Virus software that plays well with others and does a good job, you might take a look at:  Avast Anti-Virus .  Select the free version unless you want or need the extra security provided by Avast Internet Security (purchased version).
