System stuck while updating

I am new to Mac... Yesterday I was trying to update the OS X via Mac App Store, the system asked me to restart to finish the update and not to turn the computer off while updating but several apps were turned off the system got stuck on the main screen (wallpaper, menu/task bar) before both the log off and restart. Well, my question is if I may turn the computer off now, because it is stuck for some 18 hours now and does not react to anything - no mouse cursor, any key stroke...
Thanks a lot for help.

Turn off the computer because it's the only thing you can do and because the updates haven't been installed. After restarting, try installing these updates again

  • System Message while updating Sales Order

While updating a sales order I received the following System Message:
HandleSalesForm: Row - Invalid index [66000-31]
    What does this mean?

    Hi Nate
The error message looks like there is a Index error on addon form HandleSalesForm.
This could happen when there is a invalid index in the code.
    For example:
    if ( ( ( SAPbouiCOM.CheckBox ) ( ( SAPbouiCOM.Matrix ) (
    oForm.Items.Item("Matrix1") ).Columns.Item(1).Cells
    .Item(i).Specific ).Checked == true )
while the i is un-defined or invalid.
Please ask your addon developer for details.

  • HELP! Mack stuck while updating

    hello!
I currently updated to mavericks and suddenly there was this window on the upper right corner asking to to an update which I have been postponing hour wise. While I was brushing my teeth my sneaky Mac started the update though, so I have no clue what it was about. Maybe still mavericks? However, I thought it might take a few minutes but it ending up being 10 hours now being the white screen with the apple and a loading wheel. Now I am afraid it got stuck or something cause I am not quite the computer person ergo I have no clue what to do now. I haven't done anything yet hoping one of you could solve my problem instead of my hysterically pressing buttons with the hope one might do the trick.
I have a MacBook Pro which I got about 2 years ago.
    Please help me!!!! Thank you

    Hi joanpur!
You may need to use the information in the following article to reinstall Mavericks, since it seems as if there might have been an error encountered while updating:

  • Iphone 5 get stuck while updating to ios 8.1.2

Phone is Stuck at apple logo and Progress bar is not moving Forward from an hour

Reset your phone. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot. Then try to update again. Make sure your internet connection is good.

  • TS3694 ipad stuck while updating software

Tried to upate software and the ipad is frozen with the connect to itunes message.  No online solutions work !

Your iPad is in recovery mode and must be restore using iTunes. You were not able to do this successfully?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • IPod touch 4 has gotten stuck while updating/restoring.

Today I got a message that there was a new iTunes, so I updated it.
Then I got a message that there was a new update for my iPod Touch 4th Gen.  So I updated it.   ...or tried to.   During the "restore" phase the process stops at about 25% (as seen on the progress indicator on the iPod) and won't progress further.
    I've tried:
    switching users
    changing USB ports
    restarting computer
forcing restore with power and home buttons
I am at my wit's end...it's my kid's iPod and he's crying (it's ok, he's 7) and I'm frantic and nothing I'm doing is helping.
    any ideas?

Hang during restore process: Following Troubleshooting security software will frequently resolve this error. This error can be caused by the default packet size being set incorrectly. There may be third-party software installed that modifies the default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize or MaxGlobalTcpWindowSize entry into the Registry. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance in adjusting this TcpWindowSize values. Typically the default packet size is modified by 3G cellular network card software, ISP communication software, or Internet speed download optimization software. There are legitimate reasons to change the TCP/IP packet size and not use the Windows default settings (for example, network traffic optimization, home/broadband optimization, enterprise app optimization such as database apps, Exchange, and more). Deleting the "TcpWindowSize" or "GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize" entries in Windows Registry could affect the system's performance with other apps or on their network connections. Deleting the customized TCP/IP settings may require the reinstallation of any third-party applications that had modified the TCP/IP settings from the Windows default settings.
There are two ways to resolve this:
You can follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) , or follow the steps below to manually find and remove TcpWindowSize and MaxGlobalTcpWindowSize entries from the Registry.
For Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7: Go to the C:\\Windows folder and launch regedit.
    Go to Edit > Find.
Search for "TcpWindowSize" entries. There are typically multiple entries of TcpWindowSize/GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize spread throughout the entire Registry. If "TcpWindowSize" exists, one or more third-party applications have changed the user's default Windows settings for TCP/IP.
Go to File and select Export. This step will export a copy of the Registry that can be used as a backup of the original settings.
    Delete the "TcpWindowSize" entry.
Search for the next "TcpWindowSize" entry and delete each one until the Registry no longer has any "TcpWindowSize" entries.
Close Regedit, restart the PC, and test.
If you are uncertain as to why these registry entries exist and the PC is a business computer, contact your network administrator and determine what values TCP/IP can be set in their Windows Registry setting so that the PC can update or restore an iOS device rather than deleting the "TcpWindowSize" entry.
If editing the registry does not resolve the issue, restoring on a different computer that did not install the communication software is the step most likely to resolve this issue.

  • My phone got stuck while updating to IOS5/Restoring

I was trying to update my iPhone4 to the IOS5 software. I think I synched & moved everything to the library successfully. I'm not sure - I've never done it before. Then when there was the next dialog option on my screen, it asked if I wanted to do one thing or cancel. I cancelled. Obviously this was the wrong thing to do. The next thing I've had to do is "restore" my phone. I've been trying to do this since 10:30 central (before daylight time change) last night. It is stuck - nothing will change on the phone or on iTunes. I know I don't have a lot of details. I didn't expect any problems and I'm not familiar with the process otherwise I would have paid more attention to the prompts and the details. Of course, I tried this on a weekend and support is closed & I am stuck without my phone. Can somebody PLEASE help me? Thanks!!!
UPDATE: When I just unplugged my phone the error message says phone could not be restore due to unknown error (14)

  • Is anyone finding their apps are stuck while updating since switching to iOS 7?

I updated my software to iOS 7 on 9/19/13. Since that time I have 2 apps that are stuck updating and I cannot delete or pause them.  This is a real issue.  I need to use these apps and it may be draining my battery as they just keep sitting there with "waiting" underneath them.

I should've mentioned above that I have an iPhone 5.

  • Apps getting stuck while updating

    Hi,
My one app got stuck. It still shows "waiting" and does not show what app it is. Not able to delete also.
I was updatign the google app as goggles has come and now the same thing. It is stuck up with waiting sign and does not proceed further. I cannot delete it nor update it futher.
I also tried to sync the iphone with laptop but still the same issue.
Any idea what needs to be done here.

I have been having the same problems & rebooting did not work.  What cured it was going to the app store icon & scroll to the bottom & click on your apple ID.  sign out, then sign back in.  That got mine back to working properly!

  • IMac G5 Stuck While updating to Security Update 2010-001 Client (Leopard)

Pretty much explains everything in the title.
There is a blue screen and my cursor is fading out slowly and then fading in again.
If i power it off and on again it works but the update is not there.
    Should i just ignore it?

Did you use Software update or the Apple site? Try the one you didn't use and see if that works.

  • My iPod is stuck got stuck while updating.

I was updating my iPod to iOS 6.0 Beta 4 using the self update in Settings. It's downloaded the software but it's just saying 'Preparing Update' and it's been like that for an hour now. I can still use the iPod touch though... Can anyone help??

Connect your iTouch to your PC then open iTunes, if iTunes does not recognize your device, try to hold the SLEEP Button and the HOME button at the same time (iPod Reset) for a couple of seconds until the "Charging Tone sounds, now you should be seeing your device name in the iTunes " Device List". If you do, just click RESTORE and iTunes will automatically restore your iTouch to original set-up and download the iOS6 update.
    Hope this helps..
