System update has never worked

can someone assist? when I try workarounds everything screws up. have gone to downloads and every new driver creates problems. how can i update my system? thanks.

I think you misunderstood. I was typing on a laptop so maybe I was not as clear. From the first day that I bought my Lenovo 3000 N100 768 A52 running Vista the program under Lenovo Care called System Update had never, ever been able to be beyond more than 25 percent of what it was attempting to do before I got an error message indicated that there was an error, a problem, that it could not continue and it would not work. When I wanted to see if their were new update drivers I went to the Lenovo web site and tried to download newer drivers that way and that is what screwed the system up. After trying to spend 6 months to get the laptop to come back on I just put it on the shelf and forgot it. A few months ago I dug it out and tried again to make it work again and played with thinkadvantage or what ever the rescue and recovery program it and that didn't work either. I tried to switch to XP pro and that didn't work. So back on the shelf. The other day when I turned it on lo and behold Vista was working again. But the Fingerprint sensor doesn't work, the camera doesn't work and a complete charge of the battery last about twenty minutes. Pluging the adapter in means consistant power so I tried to run System Update, same problem. Nothing works. Went back to the Lenovo website and tried to look at the downloads and then started reading the forums and I seem to be having many of the same issues everyone else has with updating drivers. Except my laptop has crashed again. That is as short and polite as I can say it.

OS update has never worked with Itunes on a PC

I have never successfully installed an OS update via Itunes from my PC (running Windows XP)since I purchased the phone (July 2008). That is about 4 updates. The phone looks like it is installed but never finishes verifying the software update. I have had to visit an Apple store each time to have the OS updated, off course they use a MAC to update.
Apple Genius Bar recommended uninstalling Itunes and all other related software and then re-installing Itunes. I have tried this but am still experiencing the issue - not been able to update the OS.
BTW: I did run into someone else who has the same problem, he also runs Itunes on a IBM laptop. As matter fact more than one.
Does anyone have any suggestions

yes you have to have usb 2.0 and follow my steps too as below........I had mega problems too. Try following the steps in my posting as below after creating a new user account on your computer with ADMIN priviledges also. See my posting on 20/06/2009 22:33 titled "Upgrade Error number 4 and Restore Error 1603 when going to OS 3.0 - Solved"
And turn off any antivirus and firewall software too, before doing so. In ITunes, highlight your iphone icon and then click the Restore Button on the ITunes Summary tab which seems to force the iphone into an update. Dont try using the Check for update button. Good Luck...........

Network Extender has never worked

We received a network extender from Verizon due to the lack of coverage in the area we live - too far from a tower.
I have tried every weekend to get this thing going and I always get a solid blue power light, solid blue wan light a SLOW BLINKING RED SYSTEM LIGHT and a solid magenta GPS light.
I tried calling Verizon for support but the tech rep didn't know what to do and was trying to read through the manual, I think and the call dropped after about an hour (back to the lack of coverage issue). I was so tired of not getting anywhere that I just let it go for the evening.
Bottom line is - this thing has never worked. All I can find is that a slow red blinking light is there is an abnormal condition.
Is there any further troubleshooting I can do or do I just need to see if Verizon can send me another one?

Update - now I have a solid red GPS light & the slow blinking red SYS light. Will let it sit for an hour (as the sticker on the side suggests) and see if there's any difference

Laserjet CP1025nw HP system tray has stopped working

I bought this printer a month ago and about a week ago I started getting the error“HPCP1020SM.exe (64 bit) has stopped working.” then click close then“HP system tray has stopped working.” appears click close. the printer will still print but these errors continue to come up every time I print. I called HP support but they have no clue. Thanks for who ever can help.

Hi Have you tried installing the basic driver, and the basic driver update to see if you have the same issue? Let me know if you have the same issue using the basic driver. IPhone 5 won't start or charge or turn on and was not dropped recently and the power button has never worked

My iPhone 5 was not dropped recently however I went to use it and the screen was black, I plugged it in and nothing happened. When you call it it goes right to voicemail. The power button on it has never worked it always turns on when plugged in... Any ideas?

Are you certain that the battery has not run out? Have you kept it plugged into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes to see if it is just needing to be charged?
If it does not come on after being plugged in for 30 minutes or so, then without a functional Power button you cannot reset it, so you are going to have to try to put it into Recovery mode and restore it:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
You may not even be able to do this since you cannot proactively turn it off, but you can try.

It just stops responding, usually for 3 minutes (especially when I'm working in iPhoto or Contacts). I regret buying this machine. I wish I could just go back to my previous MacBook Pro. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

My Apple TV does not work and has never worked. I replaced it twice and replaced my router and DSL modem but no luck. I spent hours on tech support with both apple and my ISPs with no luck. Any ideas? Is the Apple TV a donation to apple? I have had the device for 8 months but it will not work for longer than 15 minutes before it drops with network errors. All of my other devices work perfectly on the network including 2 iPads, laptops and an old wii. I love apple products and this is the first real disappointment I have had. The Apple TV seems like a major dud of a product.

Seems unlikely you have had two faulty replacements, and more likely that there may be some network compatibility issue or problem with reception in the location the AppleTV lies - anything close to it that might be interfering?
I am assuming you are connected via wifi - if you can try an ethernet connection to rule wifi issues out.
Could you try it at somone else's house maybe? If it worked there it would point to something specific at your location.
You could try replacing it again I guess or seeing if they can offer you credit or a refund.

I've removed it from the system, rebooted, cleaned the registry, rebooted,

If you mean AppleCare, then I would believe the answer will be yes.
First make sure you have a full backup of everything on your Mac, then run, don't walk to your nearest Apple store.

Online number has never worked

I have just had a reminder that my online number is about to expire, but it has never worked. When I dial it, it connects for a nano-second, and then immediately I get the disconnected beeps.
I wondered if it was my phone supplie preventing the number being used? (They don't weant me to circumnavigate their service?).

Keyboard shortcut for Copies has never worked in print dialog

I don't know if this is the right place to report a bug, but it has always irritated me that the keyboard shortcut ALT-C to move the focus to the Copies field has never worked in the Adobe Reader print dialog. It should work as the underscore exists in "Copies:" I use the shortcut all the time in Office whenever i want to print more than one copy. It would be nice if this would work in Adobe Reader also. Photoshop Elements 12 installed on my PC has never worked.

My Photoshop Elements 12, which I installed as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements 11 on my PC running under Windows 8.1 has never worked. In cannot find a catalog. My Elements 11 worked fine under Windows 7 and still works fine after I upgraded to Windows 8.1. I have spent hours on the phone with Adobe techs and have had my local PC professionals examine the PC. They both concluded it is a bug in Windows 8 but if so I do not know to proceed. Help would be most appreciated.

I have a brand new ipad mini less than 2 months old... Plugged in my headset and wont work and has never worked. The ipad mini has been in an otterbox since day 1 and yet customer service is giving a run around instead of investigating the issue. How can you look at the ipad mini and say I see a scratch on the outside so it has physical damage?
