Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the article.
Now I want to do fresh installation of MKS toolkit and all other stuff for sucessfull installation of Oracle Application.
But during the installation of mks toolkit, I am unable to specify the path for installation i.e., c:\MKS , it is saying that " An existing installation is detected. The install location cannot be changed."
But I have uninstall it through control panel->add and remove programs and manually cleaned all the physical files but still error encountered.
Please guide me how to proceed .

Neeraj

inplace of mkstoolkit i installed cygwin,
which command i need to use in place of this:-
" 'C:\mks\mksnt' for the location of MKS during the installation" -"Provide the pathname to the bin directory under the Cygwin Root Directory instead (For example, "C:\cygwin\bin").
After you install Cygwin, please do the following:
C:\> copy gawk.exe awk.exe (answer yes to copy over existing file)
    C:\> copy grep.exe egrep.exe
    C:\> copy make.exe gnumake.exe
    C:\> copy gcc.exe cc.exe
Add the cygwin bin directory to the system path.

  • Filesystem check failed while booting [SOLVED]

I tried to get some help from my previous post but got no answers, so I'll summarize in hope of getting an answer:
I've installed linux before windows because I had this operating system before. But, when I've partitioned I've made a NTFS type 83 for windows, cause I know I'd install it later on.
Now, I've restored my bootloader (grub) but when I try to boot my arch linux copy, a message tells me that my partition sda2 which is my Windows one, isn't clean or corrupt.
all my linux partition are clean, but my NTFS windows partition make me unable to boot on my linux OS with this error msg:
fsck.ext4: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/sda2
    /dev/sda2:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext filesystem. If the devine is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swao or ufs or simething else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superbloc:
    e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
Next I can do is entering the root psw and use the command line, I really need help to restore my linux partition without formating anything, please.
My guess is that linux doesn't reorganize the partition as it is NTFS and doesn't boot for this reason, but didn't find how to fix it over internet yet, some help would be really appreciated.

    My partition layout is:
    fdisk -l output:
/dev/sda1 ID (5) extended (don't know what's that didn't think I've made that myself, maybe coming from windows when I installed the NTFS partition)
/dev/sda2 * HPFS/NTFS/exFAT ID (7) (strange cause I had set 87 but well, windows is working correctly it seems)
    /dev/sda3 ID (83) linux
    /dev/sda5 ID (83) linux
    /dev/sda6 ID (83) linux
    /dev/sda7 ID (83) linux
    /dev/sda8 * ID (83) linux
yep, it's actually strange that my fsck.ext4 check my sda2 partition NTFS...
    cat /etc/fstab:
    /dev/sda2 /home ext4 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sda5 swap defaults 0 0
    /dev/sda6 /var ext4 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sda7 /usr ext4 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sda8 / ext4 defaults 0 1
    menu.lst
    linux grub
    /dev/sd0 (fd0)
    /dev/sda (hd0)
    /dev/sdb2 (hd1,1)
    /dev/sda3 (hd0,2)
    title arch linux
    root (hd0,7)
    kernel /bootvmlinuz26 root=/dev/sda8 ro
    initrd /boot/kernel26.img
    the arch fallback (same)
    title Windows xp lite sp3
    rootnoverify (hd0,1)
    makeactive
    chainloader +1
I really have to write by hands, so if you wants more info tell me and I'll write more.
it's strange, could you explain me what does mean hd1 or hd0? isn't the 1st and second hard drive? and the second array the partition? cause if so, i've only 1 drive. But I'm probably not correct. Hope you get enough info to get me out of this problem!
And no, I'm not using UUIDs, thx for your suggestion!

  • GCC version check fail in nVidia installer

I have been working on installing Arch64 on my machine, and have been successful up to the installation of the proprietary nVidia drivers. I am using a GeForce 9800 GTX, and since there are no stable drivers for this card, I am using the beta drivers on their site (they do not seem to be in the repos). When I try to run the installing, I get the following error:
    The CC version check falied:
The compiler used to compile the kernel (gcc 4.2) does not exactly match the current compiler (gcc 4.3). The Linux 2.6 kernel module loader rejects kernel modules built with a version of gcc that does not exactly match that of the compiler used to build the running kernel.
If you know what you are doing and want to ignore the gcc version check, select "No" to continue installation. Otherwise, select "Yes to abort installation, set the CC environment variable to the name of the compiler used to compile your kernel, and restart installation. Abort now?
If I understand this correctly, I need to downgrade GCC to version 4.3. How would I go about doing this with Pacman? Also, shouldn't the compiler in the repos be the same as the one which created the kernel?
    Thanks in advanced.

you are not supposed to do that.. it will break your system, however there is a PKGBUILD for those beta drivers in the aur¹, you can read how to build your own packages here², also useful is this page³

Not sure what the iOS is.
iOS cannot run on any Mac computer, just Apple's mobile devices. You have some version of Mac OS X. To find it, please do "About this Mac" from your Apple menu and post what you find along wiuth the processor description.

  • Maintenance Optimizer - ABAP queue check failed

    Hi guys.
When running Maintenance Optimizer for a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 which has SAP HR 604 installed, the following message is displayed
    ABAP queue check failed
Error       The Installation/Upgrade Package for Add-on SAP_HR rel. 600 is not available.
The goal is update toEHP7 SP2.
Not sure why is stating SAP_HR rel. 600 package is not available when the system has 604 release.
During packages selection, Human Capital Management is checked and on the source system is listed SAP_HR 604 SP12
The Solution Manager version is 7.1 SPS8, CR Content is updated to 9.9.
Also have applied SAP Note 1277035 Recommendations, releted to EHP4 Missing, but still no luck
This seems to be similar when SUM perform an EHP Inclusion, and cannot find the packages on the EPS Directory, but this is happening on the Maintenance Optimizer.
Is this a problem with SAP Backbone, or should i do some manual corrections on the system or Solution Manager to make it aware SAP_HR is at al level 604 SP 12?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
That type of error you describe is mostly always related to an issue in the SMSY/LMDB definition.
It is likely that the issue is a wrong product instance was assigned to the system.
In LMDB it is easy to check , even without verification checks (which sometimes may be the root cause, a bad verification check happens sometimes). If you go to the product system, then open the node technical systems -> AS ABAP -> Software, and go to the product instance tab (in SP10, product instance - details), when you select a given product instance , you see whether the software components that are part of it are installed or not (there is a frame in the lower part of the screen that shows the software components with flag 'installed' ticked or not). Chances are, one or more of the instances have few or no software components installed.
Mind you, you must keep at least one SAP ERP 6.0 product instance assigned, this would be the exception to the rule, but if you have an EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0 system, it should be only one.

  • Ciscoworks 3.0 rechability check fails.

    Hi friends,
The reachability check fails while checking in Ciscoworks but there is no reachability issue as such. The credentials are also fine. But still the devices are not being imported to DFM / RME.
    Screenshots attached.
    Regards,
    Rajiv

The devices have snmp-server host configured too. But then too there are issues. I also noticed that while deleting some of the learning devices in DFM rediscovery/delete, the devices got stuck as pending devices and were not getting deleted even after hours.
May be reinstallation of the DFM will resolve the issue. Could you please suggest any things that i need to check?
    Best Regards // Rajiv
