System, web fonts randomly change to italic?

My system, web fonts randomly change to italic?
Have tried searching through all the preferences but can't find out why it's doing this.
Some days it does it, some days it doesn't and I can't work out what's driving it.
Any help much appreciated.

  • DNS name and web service randomly changed

    Hi all
I have a strange situation, i woke up this morning to find out that my DNS name has changed and my website does not work, I am pretty new to web server technology and when i set the server up i chose the name "intranet" to be the server's name, ever since i could access my website via http://intranet, but now it only works if i type http://intranet.local, Is there a way to make it work on http://intranet, i have not recently changed anything apart from installing a forum but thats it.

    working now thanks anyway

  • Safari fonts randomly changed - help!

Hi! I just transferred a bunch of TrueType fonts from my old Windows computer to my MacBook, and now the font in Safari is changed! I went to Safari Preferences > Font and it still says Times, so I don't think it realizes it's changed LOL
Any idea how I can fix it?

I skimmed through the list, fortunately the "offender" was in the B's or else it may have taken a while! and deleted it, then I emptied Safari's cache and restarted Safari and it was fixed!!
    Thank you both so much!!
(Meanwhile discovering this forum has also led to me finding out how to make Safari run faster, so yay! for that too)

  • Web safe fonts that change looks

I've built my website using iWeb '08 (2.0.4) running on my iMac (OS X 10.4.11) and hosted through my MobileMe account (but redirected from a domain name).
I spent yesterday afternoon changing several pages so they would be searchable (not rendered as .PNGs). To do so, I converted from my original fonts and I chose ones from the "web" list.
But when I publish, the fonts are NOT displaying the same in the browser as they do in iWeb. (In most cases they are much harder to read.)
I did a screenshot in which you can see both iWeb (top) and Safari (bottom) at the same time and it is at
    http://www.crookedspruce.net/Site/FontProblem.html
The two fonts in this picture are Impact and Trebuchet MS. That "fuzziness" is not because of some change in scale in the screenshot (I kept it full scale) - it exists in the original (which you can see by going to the "Welcome" page on that site. Since both programs are running on the same computer, the same fonts should be installed. right? and these are supposed to be web fonts anyway?
How do I get the two to look the same?

I reviewed the CSS and XHTML pages involved (once I figured out where they were hiding), and found no unusual font effects.
Independent of trying to resolve this issue, I performed a complete system reinstall (partition and start over) to Leopard (10.5.7) and iWeb '09 (3.0.1).
(along the way, I encountered some confusion with my MobileMe account, so the demonstration page is now at
    http://www.crookedspruce.net/CrookedSpruceSite/FontProblem.html
The net result... the composed and published versions now look the same on my iMac.
Maybe it was a system issue with my installed fonts?

  • Web fonts become Italic

My web fonts often become italic for no reason. MSNBC, CNN, etc. Apple.com doesn't seem to be affected. I use Font Explorer X Pro. I can remedy the problem by clearing system and application font caches (which requires a reboot), however, the issue returns after a day or so.
Has anyone here had similar issues and know a fix to this? Font Explorer support is in Germany and they don't always respond (even though I paid $80 for their software).

I have checked your website and it seems to be working fine at my end on Chrome (and other browsers) in Windows as pictured below and the font is correctly identified as Ubuntu within the Tech-Info panel.
Appears to be a local issue with your client's machine. You might want to suggest him to try an alternate browser or clear his current browser's cache/history/cookies. Also check if he is using the latest version for Chrome and has JavaScript enabled.
After clicking on Manage for the first time after you launch Muse, it may take a while for the BC site admin to load. However, you can always directly login to your site through a standard BC admin URL i.e. by appending /admin at the end of your site URL.
    Thanks,

  • System fonts Image graphics / Web Fonts

is it really necessary to transform every system font used in any Adobe Muse project into an image graphic? I also use Adobe Muse to make keynote or powerpoint similar presentations in HTML/CSS. Which has from my point of view many advantages to offer by placing the files on a company's web server. Thus, I don't see a reason why Web Safe Fonts are not transformed into image graphics while other System Fonts will be changed into image graphics.
Adding new Web Fonts directly in Adobe Muse is much easier and less complicated than creating kits on the typekit website and then adding the code snippets to every web page which uses the desired web font. A bit too complicated for my taste.

    Hi Aaron,
Thanks for the prompt response. We are wondering if you could try a few other things that will help isolate the issue. Our theory is the issue might be related to OS user permissions.
Run Adobe Muse CC as an Administrator
Locate the "Adobe Muse CC 2014" shortcut icon in Windows Explorer
Right-click the "Adobe Muse CC 2014" icon and then click "Run as administrator"
When the "User Account Control" is displayed, do one of the following:
If you are logged on as a standard user, or if the user account control is configured to always require credentials, enter the appropriate administrative credentials, and then click "OK"
If you are logged on as an administrator and user account control is not configured to always require credentials, click "Yes" to start the application
After Muse finishes launching, create a new site and inspect the font drop-down
    Verify "Local Store" folder permissions
    Open a Windows Explorer dialog
In the address field enter "%appdata% and open the folder named "com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3".The folder path should be similar to the following with <username> being the current OS user's nameC:\Users\ <username> \AppData\Roaming\com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3
Right-click on the folder "Local Store" and select "Properties"
In the "Local Store Properties" tab, select "Security"
Select the current user name from the "Group or user names" list
Observe the section "Permissions for ...." in the "Local Store Properties" dialog. Does the user have full permissions (full control, modify, read & execute, list folder contents, read, write)?
Do you know if the Windows OS user account you are using is an administrator or standard user on your machine? You can find out by navigating to the following in Windows Explorer and selecting "Manage User Accounts":
    Control Panel\User Accounts\User Accounts
Please let me know if you need any clarification on what we are asking for.
Thank you for your time in advance.
    Regards,
    Marc

  • WHY do we get a %*# update every 2 weeks while the 1 really bad bug (fonts and sizes randomly changing when typing) persists????

Is there any way to STOP TB from sending updates every couple of weeks (and BTW this has slowed down/crashed TB increasingly in the past couple of months) UNTIL they fix this really irritating bug of randomly changing fonts and sizes when writing a mail? Outlook doesn't do this, Apple mail doesn't do this, so TB stop spamming and start addressing real problems for a change!!!!

It would be helpful perhaps to focus on "the real issue" of font size and compose, rather to digress into how vendors choose to deliver the product.
font issues arose in the past year. I forget exactly when. It is quite a bad problem. My recollection is it was a serializer change not done by Thunderbird developers, and that part of it was fixed in version 24. But I could be wrong.
Would you be willing to try version 31?

  • Font size changes randomly inside mail received (sent with Mac Mail)

Hello! Here is a random issue on Mac Mail Leopard, seems few people already experimented the issue but no one found a correct solution:
When i send a mail to somebody, we can randomly notice a change of the font size (from 9px to 12px) in the received mail. This appears mostly in sentences after others sentences containing some bold text.
Note that I use the Calibri font, which is correctly set for the whole mail.
Appart from starting to write inside the signature to avoid any problem, i didn't find a way yet to fix that issue. But I imagine that if it would be a bug in the software, Apple would have fix it for decades ?..
So anyone could give an explanation? Thank u!

Thanks baltwo and Tom. I'll try sending as a PDF file as well.
Also, I did a test per Tom's instructions about reformatting text. First, I copied text from another email and then pasted it in a new message. I highlighted all the text where I wanted to increase the text size and left one paragraph unchanged.
I sent the email to the recipient that's having these issues where she replied back with my forwarded email.
All the text where I increased the point size shrunk and the text that I left alone was actually okay - Weird! I also noticed that the font style changed on their end. By the way, the recipient uses Microsoft Outlook as their email browser.

  • Web sites show incomplete fonts randomly in FF 5

Same video card, turned off all extensions and hardware acceleration but FF 5 still shows incomplete fonts on web pages randomly. Any fix ?

PERFECT. Many thanks for the prompt response.

  • Hello. I am trying to self host Italia fonts (Book, Bold and Medium) on Adobe Muse. I purchased web fonts from Linotype that are "obfuscated" - which means the name is hidden. Apparently I also need to install system fonts. Can I install with code in muse

Hello! I am trying to self host Italia fonts in muse. I purchased from Linotype the web fonts. But they sent obfuscated fonts and code. I need to also install as system fonts and those do not work for that. We already have different Italia fonts that we owned prior but they are not obfuscated... Is this a problem? Is there an easier way I can do this? TIA!

    Abhishek,
Thank you for the reply. Wanted to comment on a few things.
I reviewed the other post that you've referenced. Nothing unusual jumped out at me as something that I was not aware of. I'm running an older iMac that is in good working condition. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24" screen. I know this issue is fleeting, as I stated earlier typically can be corrected with a restart of the CC Desktop application (that I am always running at startup). I have not been able to determine that shutting down Muse corrects the issue. I would, at this time say it doesn't.
I did open InDesign and see if the fonts in question, Open Sans and Open Sans Condensed, were present and usable. They were. The fonts are shown as being synched in my CC Desktop app window (even if they are not "installed" in Muse). That is expected but it may be a bug in how Muse brings in a font from those that are already synched to your CC account. I don't know enough about how that works to comment.
And just to complicate matters, Muse seems to be working again, the fonts that is. I brought them back in and they are showing up in all locations (which there are actually three - see screen shots).
First is primary text menu dropdown (to right of orange "Text").
Second is if you click orange Text link. Another drop down menu appears.
And lastly, the Text Panel to right of screen.
I also wanted to add this extra bit of information, for what it is worth. When the issue arises and you do not get the sub-menu dropdown showing various styles of the font (italics, bold, etc.), one can use click on the missing font if you had used it previously and it is present in the "previously used font" list.
    Cheers!

  • Muse crashes when i change to web fonts

I get muse will shut down Assert" registering instance already in instance cache" I get it when I change into webfonts

I have checked this on my end, and it doesn't crash when I switch to Web fonts. So, it most possibly isn't an issue with Muse itself. Please create a new Muse file and try the same on that, and see if the error still persists (It should work fine). If it does, please send your .muse file to [email protected] and include a link to this forum thread for reference. If your file is larger than 20MB, you can use a service like Adobe SendNow or SendThisFile.
    Thanks.

  • Self Hosted web fonts not finding system matching font.

I Purchased Museo Sans Rounded form myfonts.com and installed the .ttf font in my iMac, and then i uploaded the additional formats to the Self Hosting fonts panel but I still get the error that it cant find the matching system font (neather was i able to do it manuly). What is interesting is that i cant even find the font in fontbook. My fonts refused to give me support with this claiming that they aren't familiar with Muse and the .ttf is not supported for desktop installation.
It was an expensive purchase, please help me out.
BTW I'd like to continue to use the desktop version of this font from typekit. is it posable or they will conflict?

The prefs for 2014.1 are in:
"~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.1/Local Store" (copy and paste everything, including the tilde ~, but not the quotes, into the Go > Go To Folder dialog in the Finder)
From the old 2014.1 folder you want to copy:
    fonts.db
    selfhosted
    tk1
    tk2
into the new prefs folder for 2014.2 at:
"~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2/Local Store" (copy and paste everything, including the tilde ~, but not the quotes, into the Go > Go To Folder dialog in the Finder)
Once you've done that, when you launch Muse all the self-hosted fonts and Edge Web Fonts you had previous installed or enabled should be present.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Changed fonts for entire system when trying to change mplayer fonts

I was trying to make the subtitles in mplayer smaller and saw that one possible solution was to copy a new font into the mplayer/fonts folder and replace the shortcut.
    I did the following:
    #sudo cp /usr/share/fonts/TTF/times.ttf /usr/share/mplayer/subfont.ttf
To my horror this seems to have changed the default font for the entire system. I'm able to change fonts through "obconf", but apps like conky and pypanel don't response to these changes. How can I change things back? Or at least be able to customize the font in pypanel an conky so I can get a system wide font??
EDIT: Well, I fixed it. I just did the same, but with a font I like. Kinda weird way to change fonts, but it works.

  • Adobe Muse (2014.3) "Add Web Font" Function Not Working As Expected - Newly Added Fonts Become Unavailable Though Shown

    Hello.
This has also been posted in the Community: Adobe Muse Bugs forum.
I've been having some odd/irregular issues though they have now become fairly predictable in nature. The issue is in regards to Adobe Muse (2014.3) and the availability of web fonts provided through the applications "Add Web Fonts" feature. Once added they perform as expected but then become "unavailable." Full details below. I have been a Creative Cloud Complete subscriber for a number of years so am fairly familiar with the way in which the system works minus a few issues that have popped up now and then, this one included.
    System Info:
Adobe Creative Cloud (Full Subscription): Version 1.9.1.474
    Adobe Muse: Version 2014.3
    OS X Yosemite: 10.10.2
Here is a recap of what has been taking place. I'll detail the bug as best I can.
    1. Created new Adobe Muse project. Everything normal.
    2. Chose to add a new font through the "Add Web Fonts" function within Muse. A note, my Creative Cloud App is running/open at all times (in file synch mode).
    3. Chose new fonts using above. All seemed fine (see screenshots below).
    4. Fonts also were indicated as being "Synched" within Creative Cloud (screenshot below).
    5. As expected the two fonts were added to the list of available Web Fonts within Muse (first screenshot below - left). I added them successfully to my site. Well after a number of hours I went back to this same font selection menu within Muse and the fonts were still visible yet the sub-menu that one would expect showing various forms (i.e. Bold, Italic, etc) was not available. In a sense the font could not be chosen from the list even though the name is clearly visible (second screenshot below - right).
Have no idea what may have been wrong. Saved Muse project, closed and reopened - nothing changed. Created new project - fonts still "shown" in menu but can't be used. Did find a vague description using Google of similar problem (different application) which recommended closing Creative Cloud Desktop App and reopening as one possible solution. This DID WORK initially yet the problem, though corrected for a period of time (few hours at most), would reappear again where one would again see yet not be able to choose from the two Web Fonts. Went so far as to uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application and reinstalling. Still have not solved the problem.
Any thoughts as to what this may be would be welcome. Restarting the CC app each and every time the fonts become unavailable is quite time consuming to my workflow.
    Thanks!

  • Using your own web fonts in Muse and NOT TypeKit's

Hi All, I purchased a family of webfonts for the font I will be using in my website. There is no option to add my own web fonts in the fonts menu anywhere, just web safe, typekit and system. For now I'm designing my site with the desktop version of the webfont im using to see somewhat what the final outcome will loom like. Is there a way I can somehow assign my webfont to my site after my website is built and exported to my web server? I can't believe this isnt an option. I'd use Dreamweaver but it is needless difficult to build a website in it.
    Any help would be appreciated.

if you don't change the websafe font on the website to begin with, or later on come back to arial or something after you've designed with your own font, you can replace the entire font family in css in a matter of a few minutes. the sizes and other stuff will keep unless the font you're using doesn't have Bold or Italic for different hierarchies.
    from stack overflow:
    <style type="text/css">
    @font-face {
        font-family: "My Custom Font";
        src: url(http://www.example.org/mycustomfont.ttf) format("truetype");
    p.customfont {
        font-family: "My Custom Font", Verdana, Tahoma;
    </style>
