System will not print to video

I'm using Final Cut Express HD 3.5.1 I'm trying to use print to video using my Panasonic DVX100A camera (mini-DV). I have the fire wire hooked up. I try to print and I know the fire wire is hooked up right because the computer automatically starts the recording on my camera. But no video or sound are recorded, the tape is left blank except for time code.
I have the camera in VCR mode. I know it can record this way as I've already duplicated tapes using a fire wire between 2 mini-DV camera and recording onto the DVX100A.
Does anybody know what is wrong here? Thanks.

Do you have any other devices connected to the computer? Try trashing the preferences, rebooting, and launching the project. Is the camera recognized? Can you play the sequence back from the timeline into the camera viewscreen?

  • Will not Print to Video

    I Have a Sony HDR-HC3 camera (and I've also tried a DCR PC101 Sony)
I have edited video in Final Cut Express 3.5.1 - 1080i HD using Apple Intermediate codec 1080i60
My camera is in play/edit mode (the camera has a menu selection for recording - this operation is also controlled by the computer but recording does not happen.
I'm using an iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Project is stored on an external 250 GB LaCie Firewire HD
When I select "Print to Video" to have my project recorded, the camera starts as though recording but does not record.
I have trashed preferences, and did a complete reinstall of FCE HD and added the 3.5.1 upgrade
How do I "Print to Video"?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Printing HDV form FCE HD to your camcorder involves a "conforming" process inside FCE HD. This process usually take between 2 to 6 times the duration of your sequence, depending of the material itself and RAM and CPU configuration of your mac.
Try a test with a short sequence like 4 to 5 seconds to see if your setup is correct.
See user's manual (help menu) at page 213 and ss to get the print to tape workflow for HDV.
You can also check on the camcorder's VCR menu if there is a DV/firewire in/out feature.

  • Firefox latest update will not print youtube videos on my websites - just has a blank space in place of video when I print web page?

WinXP - When I preview a web page before printing it - it is blank where my Youtube video should appear - and when I print the web page, Firefox prints a blank space where the video should appear?
    How can I fix this?

Can't be done due to the aforementioned Bug that was reported on the Gecko Core back in 2002. Never worked in Firefox which was just beginning initial development under the Phoenix moniker, when that Bug was filed.

  • H-P Laserjet 4L printer will not print with Windows 7 operating system. Need help

I have an H-P Laserjet 4L printer that worked fine with a Dell PC and Windows XP. But, it no longer worked when the PC was updated to Windows7. I was advised to buy an adapter that would accept the H-P plug and connect to the PC by means of a  USB port. I did that, but the H-P still will not print. Anyone know what to do about this problem?

I recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite.  Now my HP printer will not print correctly.  It takes forever to print and then it will not print the document in it's entirety.  I have tried to update the printer driver but there does not seen to be an update for 10.10.2.

  • HP Laserjet 4100 on network will not print

Since I’ve installed Snow Leopard, I have not been able to print with my HP Laserjet 4100.
My set-up: new 24” iMac, many hard drives and more. Two devices: HP Color Laserjet 5550 and HP Officejet J5750 are connected to the iMac through a USB Hub. Although initially scanning did not work with the J5750, I was able to make that work once additional drivers were downloaded from HP. Both work fine.
I also have an older HP Laserjet 4100 which has been my steady workhorse for years. It only has Ethernet and serial port outlets. It is connected to an AT&T 2-Wired Ethernet Hub/DSL Modem (model 2701HG-B) that is connected to the iMac.
I’ve contacted HP and Apple about this problem. None of the three people I worked with at Apple could help and the HP representative was unsure if they could help but that it would cost me $40 to find out. According to HP website, since Apple Talk no longer exists, we are required to input the IP for the device. For the 4100, the IP address is 10.0.1.100. I tried this two ways: in the “Add Printer” window under “IP,” inputted as the IPP, and inputted as the HP Jetdirect Socket (as per the HP instructions). When this is done, the printer shows up when you give a print command. However, it does not show up in the “Add Printer” window under “default” or anywhere else.
Status: If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable directly to the back of the iMac, the “Supply” level indicates the true level of toner in the 4100. However, it will not print. If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable to the Ethernet hub, the supply level does not show nor can I print.
    Any suggestions?

I am struggling with the same problem. I have two HP 4100dtn printers on ethernet. Each has a manually assigned IP address. I can set up the printer(s) just fine in the Print & Fax Preference and Snow Leopard finds the printer just fine when I enter the IP address and chooses the correct HP Driver.
When I try to print, my print job appears in the queue as expected, than an error appears that something about a "bad command". Sorry, I'm home right now and don't have direct access to the printer so I can't give you the precise language of the message, but the gist of the message is that the system tried to connect to the printer to send the print data but the printer does not know how to respond to the command that was sent.
It's as if the firmware in the 4100 just doesn't have something in it's lexicon that Snow Leopard needs. The HP web site is no help. One page I found says the printer is supported (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01664444&jumpid=regR1002USEN ) and another page I found says that it is not supported (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01879014&jumpid=regR1002USEN). The HP on line chat won't let me log in and hold a chat with HP unless I know the Serial Number of the printer, which I don't have here at home.
    More to follow tomorrow.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Hp 1315 will not print with 10.6.7

I cannot find any answers to this strange set of circumstances.
I had an old iMac and an hp 1315 all-in-one printer, and everything worked fine. I recently bought a new iMac with OS 10.6.7, and, rather than reinstalling the printer software, I just plugged the old printer into the USB port on the new iMac. The printer worked fine but the device would not scan. I have since learned that 10.6.7 supports printing ONLY on this device. So far so good, but this is where things get strange.
I wanted to scan some pictures, so I got out the old software CD that came with the printer and installed it in my new iMac. The result was that the device was now able to scan. I was happy about this until I discovered that the 1315 now will not print. I have done everything I can think of, including:
    -- uninstalling the hp software
-- downloading the most recent driver from the HP website
-- deleting the printer from the Print & Fax window and then adding it again
-- running the "Reset Printing System" on the Print & Fax window
    -- running "Software Update"
    -- unplugging, replugging, restarting, etc.
-- running the test page on the printer
-- using the device to copy (i.e., using it separate from the computer)
-- checking to see that there are no lights blinking on the device and that it has toner and paper
The Print & Fax window shows me that my 1315 is "Idle" and is the "Last Printer Used," and it has the green light next to it that should indicate that there are no issues with the printer. But when I try and print something, it doesn't print, and the job status is simply "Error."
I am fine with using this device as a printer only, like I did up until yesterday. I have another scanner, and if I had known this would happen I would used it and would never have touched the 1315 or messed with its scanning function.
I must be able to print things for my business. Can anyone help me.

Download and use the updated HP software from their web site, don't use the disk.
You might have to perform some of the steps here, including trying a new user and #18 Resintall Just OS X to kick out the traces

  • OFFICEJET 4622 WILL NOT PRINT WIRELESSLY AFTER MULTIPLE TIME TRING TO INSTALL mutiple times

My printer will not print wirelessly. I see that it is installed and the firewalls are turned off but it will not print

    Hello phdavid53,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your Officejet 4622 will not print wireless. I will do my best to assist you! First, I would like to ask you a couple of questions to clarify: When you installed this printer on your computer, were you able to print a document? Did the installation state it had a successful wireless connection?
I would recommend following this entire HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
If you were never able to install this printer over a wireless connection through the software, then please follow this HP document on 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During a Wireless Network Installati.... I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.  I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer.  After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
    OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
    HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router).  All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues:  2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans.  Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop.  What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer.  ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium.  Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end.  And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up.  I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed.  Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
    Help?
Addendum:  I can scan using HP Printer Assistance.  I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.
    This question was solved.

  • Hi, I've just installed mavericks but my HPc4180 will not print and is showing a 'blank' page in previews can anyone help me?

Hi, I've just installed mavericks but my HPc4180 will not print and is showing a 'blank' page in previews can anyone help me?

    A few suggestions for you:
    Try:
uninstall all HP utilities or other HP apps on your Mac
see if there is updated software on the HP website
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select "Reset Printing System..." and "reset" in the dialog that follows
Do a factory reset on your printer
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and download a driver for it from Apple

  • My printer will not print the web pages using firefox...how do I set it up to print a web page?

I have an hp photosmart c4180 printer and it will not print the web pages in firefox...how exactly do I set up FF so I can print web pages? I will need step by step instruction also on exactly where to go to set it up.

Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock), then open Print & Scan
Click the + button at the bottom of the printer list
If your printer appears....not all printers are supported....click on the name to highlight it
Click the Add button to install the printer at the AirPort Express location
Try to print. You must choose the correct printer at the AirPort Express location since the printer is "installed" at other locations on your network.
If you open Print & Scan again, and select the printer at the AirPort Express, there is an option to make the printer the "default" location, so you do not have to choose which location to select when you want to print.

  • HP Envy 5660 Will Not Print in Color from Desktop

I have a new Envy 5660  e all in one printer. Prints in color from my I phone and I pad but will only print in black from desktop running OSX 10.6.8.  No error messages just will not print color from my Mac.

Hello @zeitman , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're having issues printing color. I would like to try and assist.
Due to system limitations, the printer requires a minimum of 10.7 to be installed.  You can, however, download and install the Mac print software relating to HP.  This should allow you to have functionality:
HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
