System won't install patches

Question

simba!
everytime I check patch availabilty I'm told 1 patch is available / required
on selecting background update - I i just get a bar saying its updating ---
for days!
Probably due to some uncomplete action
Is there any other way force an update?

Personally I would only install using the base products, which are
inherently very solid, and for which documentation it also good
Maintenance also gets you additional GW benefits, specifically either the
current Mobile Server, or the forthcoming Data sync product, which are not
part of the base bundle but are entitlements to those on maintenance, for us
that additional elements makes maintenance a no brainer.
