T-410 random hibernation twice in one day.

I have a T410 (CTO 2516) that has two times, randomly, while plugged in, went into hibernation. It used to do it occasionally prior to that, but only when on battery power. I have installed all the latest updates, including BIOS.

hey Palaudog,
I would suggest uninstalling and reinstall the Power Manager.

  • Brand New iMac Crash (twice in one day)

I just bought a brand new 27inch iMac 2 weeks ago - its running Mavericks
Today I came home to find the computer switched off. I turned it back on and then later in the day came back to find it off again.
I went to terminal and typed "last" and saw two crashes listed (see below). My question is, how can I find out what caused the crash? Its a brand new machine, has 32gb ram and 3.5ghz i7.

Open the console app and look for the reasons for the crashes or why iot shut off. Do a SMC and PRAM reset.
Check the current hbernate mode with this terminal command.
    pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
The a google search for the options available.
It seems that with certain hibernate modes the system goes into Deep Sleep, Hibernate, and crashes when coming out of it. So if your system is doinig that disable the Deep Sleep, hibernate mode, and test.
The hibernate mode is where the system write RAM data to the Sleep Image files on the hard drive and then is supposed to load that back into RAM when you wake it up. Somewhere in that process the system crashes.

  • I lost a really important file (an iText Express document) randomly and then one day, a "recovered file" folder popped up and I assume it has to do with that, but the file just contains a doc with a bunch of coding. What do I do with that? HELP!!!

As the title question states, I lost a really important file with iText Express. I've been using iText Express for a year or two now because it's just the one application I downloaded for writing and saving documents. I was working on one for a few months and randomly one day last month, when I went to open it to resume editing my work, the file was gone! I searched my whole laptop and trash. Then one day, a "Recovered Files" folder popped up in the area my file used to be, so I assumed that was the file I lost being recovered and I felt relieved. But when I opened the folder, the document inside was a "SoftwareMap" document with a bunch of coding written in it. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with that or how it's going to help me recover my file?!? I lost SO much work!!! If anyone has ANY idea what to do, how this happened, or if the coding is supposed to help me recover my file, PLEASE help!!!

No, I already tried looking at that. The file that recovered was not in the trash, it appeared in my documents folder. I opened it up and inside was an iText Express document with coding. Then inside of there, was and then and this "SoftwareMap" document contained a bunch of coding and symbols and words.

  • Hi i was using safari one day and my ipod randomly shut off it will now not turn back on i tried hard resting and everything else when i plug the ipod into a charger it gets really hot in the left corner and itunes did not recognize

hi i was using safari one day and my ipod randomly shut off it will now not turn back on i tried hard resting and everything else when i plug the ipod into a charger it gets really hot in the left corner and itunes did not recognize any help will be apreciated thank you

Try placing the iPodin recovery mode and then try to restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Next would be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

  • Battery works fine one day, next day "Irreparable Battery Damage Has Occured"... TWICE

I have a three year old IBM X60s that up until a few days ago, was running perfectly. I decided to restore the entire thing to factory condition using the recovery CD's at which point I then updated all the software to the most recent versions. I have two 8 cell batteries for it. After shutting the lid one night to let it go to sleep, I awoke the next morning and turned it on to see a message that said I had "irreparable battery damage". My battery indicator light flashes orange and my laptop will not charge the battery, even though it says I have 94% left, If I unplug it, the entire thing shuts down. It sees that the battery exists and has a charge, but refuses to use that power. Other then these notifications, it acts exactly the same as if there wasn't a battery. So, as annoyed as I was, I stuck in my other battery. I'm sitting on the couch, using my laptop one day, when all of sudden, the entire thing shuts down completely. I plug it in and turn it on to get the message "A battery error has occurred. The battery cannot be charged. Replace the battery." Even though it says this battery is around 80% charged. Now the both have this message despite the fact that up until a few days ago, both were functioning perfectly, holding around 5 hours of charge, which was plenty good enough for me. One has been through a few more then 200 charge cycles, the other a little over 100. I'm at an utter loss as to what to do. I've run the battery diagnostic tool and it says both batteries have not been recalled. I've tried recalibrating them, but nothing works. They are obviously way out of warranty, but this is obviously not a problem with the batteries since they were functioning perfectly before this incident. What should I do?

    hi,
i now have the same problem. the battery just died and i have a flashing orange battery icon, the software tells me the battery is at 90% charge.
i read in the forum that the charging unit of the mainboard might be damaged if you keep running your notebook whilst the icon is flashing.
what was your solution? did you just buy a new battery and it worked again?
    thanks in advance,

  • Outlook displays date of birthdays one day too early in MS Office 2007, 2010 and 2013

    Hi
We are supporting several clients that has issues with Outlook. Different versions of Windows, Office and different exchange server versions. Some contacts' birthdays
just "magically" changes to one day too early.  I have done extensive research with no answer. I have experienced this issue personally as early as about 2005 or 2006 with a Windows Mobile PDA.
Our local time is GMT +2 without daylight-savings. I have checked the settings in Windows (Vista Pro and Win 7 pro
x86 and x64) and the calendar settings, I have reloaded a couple of pc's, created new profiles, installed new server hardware with newer exchange.  Even tried a few off-the-wall ideas like resetting all views to default.
Some users' address books are shared, some not. Some uses Apple, Android, BB or Windows phone, some don't.  Some connects through VPN, some don't. Some uses
AVG, Avast, Eset Nod, Forticlient, Mcafee, etc....
I have been fighting this problem for months, and can find no conclusive answer that resolves this.
If I manually open the contact and rectify the date, it will stay correct for a very random time period and then shift
    again.
I am about to lose a couple of my biggest clients, and probably my job as well, so I need urgent help.
Please no remarks on OS version, Office version or mobile devices, as this is definitely not the issue.
    HELP!

    Hi,
Have the users check on OWA, does the issue persist? Please also make sure the timezone of Exchange is also properly configured.
I'm not an expert about Exchange, I hope this blog can be helpful:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/fun_with_powershell/archive/2013/04/30/where-is-the-time-zone-property-stored-in-exchange-2010.aspx
To further dig the problem, rectify the date on owa and drop Outlook for a while(or one day), check the result the next day if the problem will come back.

  • Annoying bug: Recurring events ends one day to soon

    Hi!
My calendar is stored in an Microsoft Exchange account on Office365. In order to make it available to my wife, I publish it using the iCalendar format (ICS). However, with iCalendar all recurring events ends one day short. An event recurring three times only occurs twice and so on.
When I sync my iPad och iPhone with both the Exchange account and the ICS, it shows up correctly for the Exchange calendar but wrong for the ICS. It is the same calendar, it just ends up in different ways on my iOS device. As the difference is clearly visible, I can't consider this to be nothing but a bug.
    Anyone with a workaround?
    Best regards,
    Jonas

    Hi,
I have the same phone, isync 3.1. I do not manage to sync anything.
    Can you help?
    Thank you,

  • ICal moves events ahead one day

iCal will move random events to the next day.
Example, mothers day to the 12th, Monday.
Is there a fix? We use iCal for appointments and have to back it up with a paper calender just to make sure we don't miss anything.
Needless to say this is very annoying.

When syncing my iPod with iTunes, my appointments
from iCal are all shifted one day ahead on the iPod
    (60GB Color).
For example, the correct appointment in iCal is:
    Tuesday, at 7pm
On iPod, the appointment shows up as:
    Monday, at 7pm
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Pleeeeeease. Thanks in advance.
I have exactly the same problem. Only on recurring entries. I have checked everything to make sure the time, date and timezones are correct.

  • PSE 10 won't work after one day

I just wrote this question on another page and it seemed to vanish, so sorry if this is posted twice. I purchased PSE 10 from Amazon as a download, to my Win8 machine. It worked fine for one day but now I get a message saying can't continue because of an error and this error is unrecoverable. (I have already used my trial of 11 and don't wish to buy it.) I wonder if there are compatibility issues with Win8? And why would it work for a day?
I did System Restore and all that did was put Elements 11 back on my computer and took away 10, so now I have to redownload it. Redownloading now, but it takes hours and I may get the error message again.  I don't know if I should trash the files that are still there or what. I did an undo of the System Restore, but that did nothing.
    Thanks for any help.

Restart your system. Restart should fix this issue. If issue still exist then go go to folder "C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Adobe\TypeSupport" and delete everything in that folder. Relaunch Elements Editor 10 and see if the issue is fixed.

  • Contacts randomly deleting themselves throughout the day ios7

With the new update of iOS 7.0.3 it worked fine for a few days than one day it just randomly deleted my contacts and when i went to settings i saw my icloud had my settings turned off and i flipped it on and they all came back. this happened a few times and than it started to only delete the contacts that are over 5 or 6 months old or older (only keeping my recent contacts) than all my old ones would just randomly pop back up. Now its starting to delete them all and i could go to settings click icloud turn off my contacts switch and turn it back on and they would come back in a few minutes. Now they are just all gone, all my text messages and conversations are still there and instead of the name above the convo its just their number. I logged onto my icloud from my laptop and my contacts are still there they just wont sync back up with my phone. I dont understand why they would delete themselves in the first place. I'm out of ideas on this anyone else have any input?

I'm syncing to iCloud. I've experienced the bug where iCloud will turn itself off in settings and it will appear that you've lost all of your contacts until you turn it back on, but this is different. Several times a week for the last 3 weeks or so I'll receive an iMessage from someone who is a contact and regularly messages me, and their message will show up as coming from a phone number.

  • 1gb 3G Charges in one day, on WiFi the whole time

    Hello,
This is my first time posting, thank you in advance to anyone who can help me!
I'll start with my phone: iPhone 4s, running ios 5.0
I woke up to a text message this morning saying that I had already used 50% of my data plan usage, meanwhile the start of my billing cycle was only four days ago! I have never ever even gone past .3 gb in one cycle, so imagine my shock!
I called Verizon, and they said that my phone was active on 3g yesterday for 9 hours, despite the fact that I was at work and on WiFi the entire time. I only checked my email once or twice, did a few text messages, and as usual I closed all my apps when I was done (I hate leaving apps running in the background). I did nothing out of the ordinary, and definitely wasn't doing anything that would have used 3g for 9 hours straight. I had the WiFi icon displayed the entire day as the router signal reaches my desk. Never did it say 3g as the icon in the corner.
The only other out of the ordinary thing that happened was this morning I received a prompt to update to ios 6.1.3 (which I didn't do).
The representative put me on hold and talked to the techs. She came back and said that the techs told her I need to update my operating system and it would fix the problem. She said "There was a known issue that even though the icon is a WiFi symbol, the phone could actually be connected to 3g instead and the update would fix that." I just don't really believe that. I am still running ios 5.0 and it works great for me. I've had the phone for over a year and have never updated. So how can I have this issue all of a sudden where my WiFi icon is lying to me? And what could have it been doing for 9 hours straight?
Luckily she is going to give me a credit for any overage charges I may encounter, but I really don't want to update my ios as it works very well for me.
I'm looking to see if there is any truth to Verizon's solution, should I update? I've heard horror stories about 6.1.3 so I'm very hesitant, but I also don't want to run into this problem again and get charged for 3g data I didn't really use since I thought I was on WiFi. Is it really my operating system?
Thanks again in advance, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the reply! I understand what you mean about the standby not being connected, but I guess what I meant is whenever I was actively using the phone I was on WiFi. I didn't use the phone in any way that was out of the ordinary, like I wasn't sitting at my desk streaming anything or surfing the internet. I always close out of my apps so they are not running in the background. Most of my push notifications are turned off. I just don't understand 1-how I managed to go through 1gb in one day when I didn't use the phone any more than I usually do, nor did I use it while unconnected to WiFi and 2-would updating the ios to 6.1.3 really fix the problem like the Verizon people said it would even though I haven't ever had a problem with 5.0 before.
    Thanks again for the reply!

  • HT201303 Question - are you charged twice for one song??

I purchase a song for my computer and then put in on my IPhone and was charged twice for the same song! Is that the normal way?? It doesn't seem right to have been charged twice for one song! Once purchase can't you put this song on Ipods and Iphones without Itunes charging for each one? Thanks

    Hi..
No. You should not have been charged twice.
Follow the instructions here >  How to report an issue with Your iTunes Store purchase
If you don't see a credit to your account within 3 business days, use the email form to contact Apple here >  Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us

    Yes.

  • My Nano Randomly Beeped (twice...)

My first generation black 2GB nano randomly beeped twice in a week, while playing music. The beep is not in the music. The iPod wasn't charging or connected to the computer, just playing the music. The first time it beeped, it was playing through speakers, and the second time, I was listening through earbuds and playing Brick.
Anyone know why this happened? It's not a big issue, I'm just wondering. Nothing else is wrong with the iPod except for a dead pixel, which I don't care about.
Dell somethin-or-other Windows XP 1st Gen Black 2GB Nano

My best guess - have a look at your Alarm
settings...maybe one is set and is going off.
I checked..the alarm wasn't on, and it wasn't the two-tone alarm beep. It was one note, just for a second.
Also, when I said nothing else was wrong with it, I lied. Actually I didn't lie, I forgot that sometimes when I play a song, it will just cycle through all the songs without playing them, i.e. the information will come up for half a second, then onto the next song. And so on until it runs out of songs.
I suppose I'll try a full restore... That was my last resort...
