T 61 running windows XP Bluetooth not working (licence check failed)

Hi,
When I open my bluetooth places i there is no text beside the icons under bluetooth tasks or other places. under other tasks If i click on the  first icon it takes me to my desktop, hwne I click on the back button to return to my bluetooth places I get an error pane that says:
"bluetoothe licence check failed. please make sure that the bluetooth device is plugged in/turned on the device you are ising is licenced for this software and that your licence has not expired"
I have a T61 and the bluetooth isnt working. I have worked with tech support to update the relative softwares. I have followed all the steps on the thinkpad T series advisory link migr-57107 as advised by lenovo. Everthing seems to be working (in (device manager) but when i go into my bluetooth placesI'm having no joy. Your help is appreciated.

Hi again Mozilla owners and staff and tech support also! Well, I "reset Lightbeam" so it's working again but now I lost all the sites data on the 244 who were on me, oh well. AOL is getting out of hand lord help us! It's almost like someone else is running my e-mail when I give the site a command to open or close or compose Good grief! OK, let me know if anything new arises on your end tech team help on these issues ok? Very much appreciated guys!. SO here we go!!! SOLUTION TO BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING V3-571 ACER WIN 8.1 64-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------1) Switch off your bluetooth    .........search top right screen > Settings > Bluetooth > Toggle off!2) Right Click your windows logo on the left hand side of your screen > device manager > Bluetooth >Uninstall totally the bluetooth driver and or delete.3) Exit device manager.4) www.google. > find acer drivers > acer website.  On website to find drivers, use auto detect serial number > go to your downloads folder >open downloaded auto detector > copy serial number> back to asking box for your serial number >right click > Paste serial number.5)Select operating system from drop down menu (typically windows 8.1)6Drivers > Select Bluetooth Qualcom Atheros Driver 647) Go to downloads on your pc8) Right click the downloaded bluethooth qualcom atheros zip folder >  > extract here9) Go into unzipped bluetooth folder > Double Click the installer Icon > Run installer10) Restart PC11) Boom!!!  Happy Days.....Nightmare over.  YOUR BLUETOOTH WILL NOW CRUISE  Hope this will help other people, I had a nightmare for a good few hours trying to get my bluetooth to work again after upgrading to Win 8.1 FROM Win 8.     

    I am not bothering with windows 10 my friend, it is too much of an newbe baby at the moment and there are just too many bug fixes need doing in my opinion.  I did manage to get my dolby home theatre to work again in windows 10, but it was an awful dulled down version with only half the features of the original that came with the version that was on my pc. My plan is to stick to windows 8.1 until it's death.  When they withdrawl all the security patches for windows 8.1 and it becomes obsolete, then I will be forced to trash my pc again and go to windows 10, was not much fun mind spending 3.5 days putting everything back to its former state.   Hope they do make windows 10 more stable and fix a lot of the bugs.  I tried opening videos and pictures in windows 10.... result = missing element errors.... and  error, error,  error,,,  So I think I will wait until 28 July 16 to when the last day of my free upgrade and reservation to windows 10 becomes mandatory.  (This is I day before my year to upgrade expires). Thanks for your post.  Will

  • Windows update does not work after using System recovery disk

    I have a Toshiba Satellite c655 with WIndows 7 64 bit Home premium. The hard drive died on it, so I purchased a new hard drive and purchased the appropriate Recovery media from Toshiba. I followed the directions and installed the 3 disks on to the new hard drive. But Windows update does not work I get the following error: Windows update can not currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your PC    No matter what I try, I can not get it to work. And it will not let me install Windows Defender either. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time on this matter.

    uninstall both webcam and bluetooth drivers from device manager. let windows install its generic drivers.
    once done, see if you're able to use it.

  • Bluetooth not working - T61 - PLEASE HELP :(

    I read a few of other threads about bluetooth not working on T61.
    What I tried:
    Enabling the bluetooth adapter from BIOS (was already enabled)
    No light showing up on the front of the laptop (turns on very briefly when I turn the laptop on)
    Tried fn+f5 and it wont turn on (wi fi is). 
    I installed hotkey driver, rebooted a few times, still nothing. 
    When installing bluetooth driver, it says the device couldn't be found. 
    I used bluetooth before, then I reinstalled windows 7 and it stopped working. 
    Any ideas?

    I got the same problem and it seems like Lenovo just don't care about it. I've already installed all the updates from Lenovo and Windows and newest Bluetooth drivers from Broadcom....still nothing.

    The error code 80070005 usually means that you do not have enough permission to install updates.
      First please confirm you have logged on an account with administrative privileges.
      I suggest you to reset Windows update components and run Fix it.

Reply from mod, oh thats easy the files for hd are some huge that sky go can't play them and no app can stream hd due to this and so when they say they are they're really sd streams, if there was any way around this we would have done it now.

    Thanks, for info, iPod Classic is a slower machine compared the Nano, unfortunately, if you read these discussions, majority of the freezes involved iTunes 10. Although if might be just slow and some impatient user just disconnect the iPod ands cause more problems. ( Yes I also did that but safely by doing a iPod Hard Reset, before disconnecting).

    or my usual solution for Windows Users.
    Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
    My suggestion.
    Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
    Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
    Stop the Antivirus program
    Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC, do not use any USB Hub.
    When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
    When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
    Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
    When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

    I was expected 7.0.3. but no use...

    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                 
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset the BT device
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    I found the driver at the above link.  I installed the driver, disabled my graphics card and rebooted.  The touchscreen worked.  Then I enabled the graphics card.  So far so good.  Hope I dont have to do this routine too often.

    Bluetooth is supported for handsfree telephone, stereo speakers/headsets, some keyboards, some apps, tethering if provided by the carrier.
    File transfer has never been a feature.
