T-code to find the capacity of the machine.

HI Experts,
I have a scenario for Process industry,
In Resources i define formula for Capacity & scheduling , In Master Recipe i give the value to my formula and as per get the Capacity availibility & Scheduling time.
i want to know Is there any T-code by which the Production engineer can know the
capacity of the Machine on a given day or Group of days.

Dear Sandy,

  • What's the capacity of the different models?

    Nowhere did I find the capacity of the 8Go, 32Go & 64Go.
    How many songs, movie etc.
Also, are they all the same speed?

All the 4G iPods have the same procesor and memory.  After the 2G iPods, Apple stopped giving the song capacities.  Could be it is very dependent upon the song length and compression.  The following is from the specs for the 2G iPod:
    8GB, 16GB, or 32GB flash drive2
    Holds up to 1,750, 3,500, or 7,000 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format3
    Holds up to 10,000, 20,000, or 25,000 iPod-viewable photos4
Holds up to 10 hours, 20 hours, or 40 hours of video5

  • Can I increase the capacity of Time Machine with an external hard drive connected to Time Capsule?

Can I increase the capacity of Time Machine with an external hard drive connected to Time Capsule via the USB port?  My current Time Machine has a total capacity of 1TB.  I'd like to double or triple its memory.  I don't want to use the external hard drive in lieu of the Time Capsule hard drive.  I'd like to use it in addition to.  Just don't know if/how it's possible.
This is another one of those questions that I've searched the web for answers, and have gotten tricky answers back.  So now I'm trying to introduce a clean slate to the mix.
    Thank you for your time!

Well, what you mentioning is possible.  However, I don't know whether it's supported (as in, "easy to set up.").  Time Machine officially supports backing up to a locally attached drive, to a machine running a Time Machine server (i.e. running OS X Server software), and to a Time Capsule.  I don't know that it officially supports a drive attached to an AirPort or to a Time Capsule.  Though I know some people have gotten it to work.
Best I can say is to try it.  Plug the drive into the Time Capsule, ensure it's shared on the network, and then try and set it as a backup target from a machine in the Time Machine backup panel (you'll need to ensure it's mounted first).  If it works, you're all set.

  • Unable to turn back the capacity to the Mac HD

    Hi
I used to have a Windows 7 on my Mac Pro. I used Boot Camp Asisstant to remove the storage and return it to the normal Mac HD. But it ended up with a failure. It took a lot of time like 45 minutes and made me to cancel the process. Now I have lost the availability of Windows 7 remove option in th asisstant although still have another disk with the capacity of 100GB. Please help me out how can I remove it out properly and get my space back.
    Thanks in advance.

For the first time, you can redistribute disk space in Mac in minutes!
In the past, to reallocate free space on your Mac, you’d need to back up the Boot Camp partition, delete the partition, recreate an NTFS partition with a new size and, finally, restore the Windows partition backup to the new NTFS partition, a process that could take anywhere between two to five hours. Fortunately, Paragon Software has developed Camptune X, which achieves the same result in a matter of minutes!

  • I have Movies on  my iMac that I want to share with Apple TV. How do I do that without also having them synch to my iPhone.  The movies exceed the capacity of the iPhone.

I have Movies on  my iMac that I want to share with Apple TV. I have no problem getting the movies to show up and play on Apple TV. However, when I synch my iPhone to to my iMac all of the movies try to synch to the iPhone and this exceeds the available capacity (32) of the iPhone. So the question is, how do I make the movies available on Apple TV but not synch to my iPhone?

I looked around some more on my iPhone and did find a video app. So all is well.
Thanks so much for your help!!

  • What's the "other" portion of the capacity at the bottom of iTunes?

I have an ipod touch and every time I sync it I have to unselect songs because the "other" capacity is so full. Any advice on how to lessen the amount? And exactly what is in this area of my iPod?

If the "other" is significantly bigger than about 100 MB (normal for the Touch), then you probably have a database problem. I've had that a couple times before. Basically, the database has "forgotten" about some of those songs that are there, but they're still there taking up space.
It's a bit of a pain to have to do this because it takes so long, but do a Restore (overnight) and it'll fix it right up. A restore erases what's on there and forces it to redo the database.

  • I have 15,686 photos on iPhoto 11 and am now, when uploading latest photos, getting a message saying that my startup disk is full.  Is there any way of increasing the capacity of the start up disk?

I have 15,686 photos on iPhoto 11.  As I've been uploading the latest photos in the last two days I've been getting a message stating that my start-up disk is nearly full.  I had no idea there was a limit.  Is there any way of increasing its capacity?  I have been shooting in Raw of late and I know it takes up a lot of space but I have heard of other people who have over 20,000 photos on their computers, so what is going on here??

    Two possibiilities here:
    1. Your start up disk is nearly full
    Or
    2. You have minor damage to the iPhoto Library and it's giving you a bogus message.
But here's the thing: A full start up disk is a very serious issue and needs to be dealt with fast.
So, how big is your Hard Disk? How much free space on it?

  • How do I find out the capacity of a DVD disc?

Sorry for such a simple question, but this is really bugging me.
At work I have CDs, DVDs and BluRay discs that are all branded with company logos etc.. so they look the same. Most of the time when I burn a disc I do it in Finder, but it doesn't say the capacity of the disc anywhere. 'Get info' doesn't help and Disk Utility doesn't shed any light either.
I know I should be more organised and label my discs, and I know I should probably use some other software but:
    • I like burning discs in Finder; it's all I need (well not quite, evidently...)
    • Surely there should be something to tell me if a disc is 700mb/4gb/8gb/25gb The only hint I get is an error message when I try to put too much data on a disc, but I'm not willing to burn every disc using trail and error...

Here are some capacities for you:
You can look at the surface of the blank disk for the designation of which type of disk it is (CD-R,  DVD+R, etc.)
    DVD capacity
    Disk Type
    Data sectors
    (2,048 B each)
    Capacity

    GB
    DVD-R (SL)

    4,707,319,808
    4.7
    DVD+R (SL)
    2,295,104
    4,700,372,992
    4.7
    DVD-R DL
    4,171,712
    8,543,666,176
    8.5
    DVD+R DL
    4,173,824
    8,547,991,552
    8.5
    SL / DL – Single/Dual layer
    CD-R, CD-RW Capacities: 700 MB
How much data can you fit on a Blu-ray disc?
    A single-layer disc can hold 25GB.
    A dual-layer disc can hold 50GB.
I pulled these off Google for you.
    Hope this helps

  • How do I find the capacity of my hard drive

    Hi all,
Hard drive on my MacBook crashed and had to be replaced.
Don't get me started. Don't ask if I backed up my important data. Don't ask if I was 15 days out of warranty.
Question: how do I verify the capacity of the new hard drive? Tech guy said he replaced my 60 GB hard drive with an 80 GB hard drive.
    Thanks for any advice.
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions! Is the new drive installed and formatted? Is Mac OS X already installed? If so, you can simply select the icon of the hard drive on your desktop and then choose "Get Info" from the File menu. This will tell you the capacity, used, and available space. If it hasn't been formatted yet, you can still determine the size, but it's a little more complicated with your OS X install disk and the Disk Utility.

  • All my files appear gone, but I didn't delete anything and the capacity is still accounted for

I'm looking to update my old 2007 Macbook from Mac OS 10.5 to 10.6, but I've run into a problem..
Before I've even got to copying the .iso file I have (file in on my Macbook Pro at the moment) onto the computer I've gone to delete all of my music and other data so I have room as there was currently only about 400MB available on the hard drive. If I go into any folder, all my data appears to be gone.. Documents is empty, Movies is empty, Pictures is empty, Music has the iTunes folder but otherwise empty. I never deleted any of this stuff, and the capacity of the drive according to Finder is just as I'd expect it to be. My desktop picture is the same so that file at least is still there...somewhere!
Can anyone shed some light onto how I can make these files visible? They're obviously still there, just not accessible..

Hmmm, in Sys Prefs>Acounts, how many users show up there.
Let's see if we can find any of those files...

  • I "think" I upgraded to Mountain Lion. The only reason is I need to back up my mac to iCloud. Now I can't find how to do the back up.

Also now I can't hold down the "control" button and use the "wheel" on my mouse to enlarge the page so I can see the **** thing.

Open Accessibility preferences in System Preferences. Click on the Zoom icon in the list:
Set your desired Zoom options in the attached panel:
    Basic Backup
For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
    1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
    2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
         drive being backed up.
    Mac 101- Time Machine
Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Data Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files. For help with using Time Machine visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.
Although you can buy a complete external drive system, you can also put one together if you are so inclined.  It's relatively easy and only requires a Phillips head screwdriver (typically.)  You can purchase hard drives separately.  This gives you an opportunity to shop for the best prices on a hard drive of your choice.  Reliable brands include Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital, Toshiba, and Fujitsu.  You can find reviews and benchmarks on many drives at Storage Review.
    Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available.  You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports.  I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets especially for Firewire drives (911, 921, 922, for example.)  You can find enclosures at places such as;
      1. Cool Drives
      2. OWC
      3. WiebeTech
      4. Firewire Direct
      5. California Drives
      6. NewEgg
All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover.  Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.

  • Actual capacity of the 4 hdd bays with/without raid...

I've seen a few discussions regarding the capacity of the Mac Pro and it's 4 HDDs. I will be buying one shortly and have a few questions regarding this.
    1) It seems clear that from other discussions, the Mac Pro can detect and operate a 3TB drive without a hardware raid card, however with the hardware raid card, it's limited to 2.2TB. I would assume then that you can easily detect and raid (0/1/5) a 3TB array...could I get any verification on this?
    2) On a related note, is the currently advertised 8TB total capacity real? For instance, if these users are finding that each bay can view and utilize a 3TB drive (as opposed to the advertised 2TB), would it then be realistic to assume that you would be able to view and utilize a 12TB (4x3TB) total capacity? Perhaps even raid 5 it via osx software raid 5?
    3) Does anyone forsee any performance issues running this on an 8-core 3.2 processor Mac Pro? I'd upgrade to those specs for this purpose.
Thanks a ton for the thoughts!

the Mac Pro can detect and operate a 3TB drive without a hardware raid card
    Yes.
I would assume then that you can easily detect and raid (0/1/5) a 3TB array
    That is correct.
is the currently advertised 8TB total capacity real?
No. That only has relation to what Apple sells, not what can actually be used.
would it then be realistic to assume that you would be able to view and utilize a 12TB (4x3TB) total capacity?
    Yes.
Perhaps even raid 5 it via osx software raid 5?
If you are serious about RAID, you will rethink the use of OS X software RAID.
    There are better softwares:
    http://www.softraid.com/
In talking a RAID 5 or 6, a hardware RAID may be more appropriate, especially due to the limitation of the number of drive bays available.
Yes, 3 is minimum, 4 is better, and the same said for 5 drives; better yet.
This is what Apple states as supported using the Apple RAID card:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24883
Don't limit thinking to that card, though.
    There are faster.
    And think external.
Stuff 4-5 drives in a PM enclosure and connect to a third party card.
More drives is better in a RAID 5:

  • Should PPDS orders consume capacity in the SNP Capacity view in 9ASNP94?

    Dear Gurus
Should PPDS orders consume capacity in the Capacity View in 9ASNP94?
We currently only use PPDS, but are looking to implement SNP for mid-range planning and S&OP.  I would like to demonstrate the simplicity of the capacity view in SNP, but the planned orders in PPDS do not consume the capacity of the Resource in the standard planning book/view SNP94(2).  We are using Single mixed production resources which I thought were suitable for both PPDS and SNP planning.  This is a particular concern because I would expect that the SNP and PPDS horizons will have to cross over and so PPDS and SNP will have to take into account the capacity consumed by orders in the other module.
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Elamobel

If you are using PDS you probably need this BADI:
Note 657185 - RTO: Sample code for calculating bucket consumptions 4.0
As standard only the continuous consumption is maintained in the PDS by the CIF, the bucket consumption (which is the SNP view of capacity) is missing.
Check the related notes too (especially 1462965)
If you are using PPMs you can just maintain the missing data directly
