T-Code to maintain multiple tables

Hi All,
we are having 5-6 tables to maintain, all these tables belong to same program.
these are usually updated by business using their respective t-codes, (mimic of SM30).
but sometimes business forget to update 1-2 tables (mistake happens).
So, Business is asking us, if we can have a tree like structure to maintain, all the T-code associated with. ( I mean to say, if business enter 1 T-code, it should show all the tables which needs to be updated.
can you please let me know.
Thank you

Hi ,
You can maintain one master table which will hold the tcode Vs tables. You will need to update that table as when when design changes.
Write a program/transaction which will take tcode as input and will read this table and retrieve all tables associated with taht tcode from this master table and display them to User.
Hope thsi is helpful.

Uma Dave.

  • How to assign 2 transaction codes to maintain a table via SM30

    Hi all,
    I have created a table with 5 fields. This table must be handled through 2 specific transaction codes (via SM30) in Production system because people from Customs and Packaging departments will directly update it in Production SAP system:
    -     tcode1 for  department1
    -     tcode2 for  department2
    through tcode1, department1 should be able to update fields 1, 2 and 3 only.
    through tcode2, department2 should be able to update fields 1, 4 and 5 only.
    How to handle this?

    hi,
    1. solution could be by authority objects
    2. modification of your dynpro (PBO) dependent on department-
    possible if field USR03-ABTLG is available (select user-data with sy-uname)

  • Add to Multiple Tables from One Page

    Hello,
    I am building an application that handles hardware inventory (APEX 4.0). I have an input page that adds data to two or more tables all at once. The page has two forms on it that point to two separate tables. However when I try to run the page, it fails and returns an error:
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 437: PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "ORH_LAST_UPDATE_DATE": invalid identifier ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
         Error      Unable to process row of table IDD_ID_DATA.
    So far as i can see within the App, that column is not at issue (I am not even doing anything to it and it is nullable). I have looked into the App itself as well as doing some online research but have found nothing helpful...
    So my question is this: Is it possible to add to multiple tables from one page? If so how do I do it?
    I am new to APEX so any help would be greatly appreciated!

    UPDATE:
    I received an email from the APEX Support Team:
    "The simple answer is that you will need to manually code the DML (and query) processes if you wish to maintain multiple tables from one page (There is a limit of one table when using the built-in processes).
    In order to do this I suggest you delete the processes generated by the wizards and create PL/SQL processes with insert, update, delete statements as necessary. Such coding is not difficult but is more time consuming than when you can use built-in processes."
    I have been playing around with PL/SQL code and the end result is this:
    begin
         INSERT INTO table1
         VALUES(
              :P2_Item_Field1,
              :P2_Item_Field2);
         INSERT INTO table2
         VALUES(
              :P2_Item_Field1,
              :P2_Item_Field2);
    end;
    I used this code in a custom PL/SQL Process in the Processing>Processes section of Page Processing and it seems to work fine now. The only downside to this method is if the name of a Page Item is changed the code will also have to be changed. Other than that i have had no problems.

  • How can I maintain two tables content at the same time with SM30

    Hi all,
    I created two customizing tables that I would like to link together for maintenance in SM30. Table 1 is the header and table 2 can have multiple detail records.
    They are linked via the ID key field. I would like to run the Table Maintenance Generator on the first table in SE11 and be able to maintain both table data at the same time in SM30.
    How can I do that without any ABAP programming? Should I use Append or Include structure or else?
    Thank you for giving as much detail as possible.
    Regards,
    Sylvain

    Hi,
    You cant do it w/t abap programing.
    You can code in "EVENT" to achive the same.
    Open table maintainance generator of first table through se56 or se11.
    follow the path: environment>Modification>Event.
    Select sutaible event from drop down like Before Save... and do coding.
    In this way data will be saved in second table automatically when you save in first table.
    In case of any query, please revert.
    regards,
    Dhan

  • Create object type from multiple tables for select statement

    Hi there,
    I have 3 tables as given below and I wish to create an object type to group selected columns as 'attribute' from multiple tables.

    Reason to do this as these fields are required to be grouped together as they are created in different tables. They are treated as 'attribute' (consists of many columns) of the part number. So, the PL/SQL is requested to design in a way able for user to pass in the column name and column value or part number, then the select statement should be able to query for the records. Another reason is a new column can be added easily without keep modifying those effected programs. Reuseable too.This basically equates to ... hard to code, hard to maintain, and poor performance.
    Are you really sure you want to do this? This isn't going to be easy-street as you seem to think it is, but it's a one way street to a poorly performing system with security vulnerabilities (google SQL Injection).
    I would highly recommend you reconsider your design decision here.

    Thanks for posting the Procedure, Job and Table Details.
    How do you want to represent the data in Log table, if you are processing Multiple Tables in a Single Job Run?
    Certainly, to comply with your First requirement, you will have to setup another job that does the Logging for you.
    Or, Calling of Job procedure has be modified like below
    DECLARE
    X NUMBER;
    BEGIN

    ( job       => X
    ,what      => 'ARP.some_procedure(1);'           ----------> some_procedure will call Log Procedure, followed by load_proc(1) and further followed by Log procedure to indicate success/failure of Job;

    ,interval  => 'TRUNC(SYSDATE+1)'
    ,no_parse  => FALSE
    SYS.DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Job Number is: ' || to_char(x));
    COMMIT;
    END;
    /Below is a sample code, which you can modify according to your requriements:
    create or replace procedure log_load_job
      p_rec_inserted                varchar2,

  • "Failed to open the connection" problem related to multiple tables in the report?

    Post Author: Gadow
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    System specifics:
    Web environment using ASP.Net 2.0 (from Visual Studio 2005 Professional)
    Crystal Reports 2008, v. 12.0.0.549, Full
    We have set up the following method for displaying reports via our website:
    User is sent to a report-specific page. The user is given some filtering options specific to the report that will be viewed. When the user has specified the data filters, the user clicks a button.
    The page wraps up the report parameters -- selection query, formula values, report location, the name to be displayed, etc. -- into a class which gets put into the Session object.
    The page redirects to DisplayReport.aspx. ALL reports redirect to this page.
    DisplayReport.aspx retrieves the report parameters from Session. A ReportDocument object is created and loaded, then set with the data from the parameters class.
    A ConnectionInfo object is created and set with the relevant log on credentials. All of the reports draw from the same database, so the connection information is hard-coded as the same for all reports. The page then iterates through all of the tables in the Database.Tables collection of the ReportDocument and calls ApplyLogOnInfo to each table using the ConnectionInfo object.
    The page is rendered and the user gets the filtered report.
    We currently have seven reports. Five reports work fine and display the correctly filtered data with no error messages. Two reports generate a Failed to open the connection error and do not display. I have verified that the queries being sent to DisplayReport.aspx are valid, and as I said the connection information itself is hard-coded in the one page that displays the reports and this is identical to all reports.
    The five reports that do work all have a single data table, either an actual database table or a single view. The two reports that do not work all have multiple tables. As far as I can tell, this is the only difference between the sets; all seven reports are based on the same DSN and I have verified the database on all of the reports. All of the reports were written using Crystal Reports 8, and all of the reports display fine in a Windows app I wrote some years ago using Crystal Reports 8. Again, the only difference between those reports that do work and those that do not is the number of tables used in the report: one table or view in the reports that display, more than one table (tables only, none use views) in the reports that do not display.
    As for the code I am using, below are the relevant methods. The function MakeConnectionInfo simply parses out the components of a standard SQL connection string into a ConnectionInfo object. DisplayedReport is the ID of the CrystalReportViewer on the page.Protected Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
            Dim o As Object = Session("ReportParams")
            Dim ReportURL As String = ""
            'Verify that there is a ReportParameters object
            If o Is Nothing OrElse o.GetType IsNot GetType(ReportParameters) Then 'Redirect to the error page
                Response.Redirect("/errors/MissingReport.aspx")
            End If
            ReportParams = CType(o, ReportParameters)
            'Verify that the report exists
            ReportURL = "/Reports/ReportFiles/" + ReportParams.ReportName
            ReportPath = Server.MapPath(ReportURL)
            If Not File.Exists(ReportPath) Then
                Response.Redirect("/errors/MissingReport.aspx?Report=" + ReportParams.ReportTitle)
            End If
            InitializeReport()
        End Sub

                            Else

                            End If
                        Case FieldValueType.StringField
                            FFD.Text = String.Format("""""", kvp.Value)
                        Case Else
                            'For now, treat these as if they were strings. If things blow up here,
                            'we will need to add the appropriate formatting for the field type.
                            FFD.Text = String.Format("""""", kvp.Value)
                    End Select
                End If
            Next
            For Each T As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table In RD.Database.Tables
                Dim TLI As TableLogOnInfo = T.LogOnInfo
                TLI.ConnectionInfo = CI
                T.ApplyLogOnInfo(TLI)
            Next
            DisplayedReport.ReportSource = RD
        End Sub
    Does this approach not work with reports containing multiple tables, or is there something I'm missing? Any meaningful suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Multiple tables with the possibility of multiple records in each table

    Post Author: viper
    CA Forum: .NET
    Hi
    I have been trying for a few days now to come up with a CR solution to displaying data from multiple tables.  These tables, in some cases, have more then one record that needs to be displayed.  This is basically what I am trying to do.....
    I am developing a .net web application(vb) using vs2005 and an oracle 10g backend.  There is a data entry part of the site that users will enter data related to a property.  Other users will be able to search these records and have a list of records returned based on the search criteria.  The user then can click on one of these records to view a pop up CR report containing all the data related to that one property.  The PropID is passed to the pop up page and is used in the WHERE clause of my SQL statement to bring back only one property.  This data can come from as many as 18 tables if all the fields have been entered for this property.  I have tried many different solutions to get the data from multiple tables...and have had some that were close to what I need.  The best one I have will display data from multiple tables but only one record per table.....which doesn't work in my case since some of the tables have more then one record per table.
    Is there anybody that has had success in setting up similar reports?
    Does anybody know how I could use the "Group Expert" to group by the tables in my application?  I can only figure out how to group within a single table.
    It would be great if I could group by table....then just display the record(s) in each table that had the same PropID.  I am not sure if the pdf export would show all the data in that situation but it would be worth a try.  If fact...maybe I could create a new table called MyTables and just add two colums like MyTableID and MyTableName.  Then add all the table names to MyTables that I want to see in the report and add the associated MyTableID value to each table as a new column.  I could then group by MyTableID and PropID.  Just guessing here.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Your query is not too clear so I'll do my best to answer it broadly.
    You mentioned that you have a .NET web application where your users enter data on one screen and then may retrieve it on another. If the data is written in real time to a database then you can create a standard Crystal Report by adding multiple tables. The tables should be linked together using the primary and foreign keys in order to optimize the database query and give you a speedy report. Using unlinked tables is not recommended and requires the report engine to index the tables (it is quite slow).
    You also mentioned you have a "PropID" to be used in a WHERE clause. This is a great place to use a parameter in your report. This parameter can then be used in your record selection formula inside Crystal Reports. The report engine will actually create the WHERE clause for you based on the parameter value. This is helpful because it allows you to simply concentrate on your code rather than keeping track of SQL queries.
    Now, what Crystal does not do well with is uncertainty. When you design a report with X number of tables the report engine expects X number of tables to be available at processing time. You should not surprise the print engine with more or less tables because you could end up with processing errors or incorrect data. You may need to design multiple reports for specific circumstances.
    Regarding the group expert question. I'm not sure how you would/could use the group expert to group a table? A table is a collection of fields and cannot be compared to another table without a complex algorithm. The group expert is used to group and sort records based on a field in the report. Have a look at the group expert section of the help file for more information.
    Hopefully my comments have given you a few ideas.

    also if I comment out "IF RFC_Read_TableTJ.Call = True" is creates the next text file with records from the previous table"
    Why is this happening and how do I change tables?
    thanks!

    hi John
    you can create a join of those multiple tables in an internal table
    and then u can view that on this single internal table....
    like:-
    example
    SELECT c~carrname
                  p~connid
                  f~fldate
    INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab
        FROM ( ( scarr AS c INNER JOIN spfli AS p
                      ON pcarrid   = ccarrid
                      AND p~cityfrom = p_cityfr
                      AND p~cityto   = p_cityto )
             INNER JOIN sflight AS f ON fcarrid = pcarrid
                                    AND fconnid = pconnid ).
    LOOP AT itab INTO wa.
      WRITE: / wa-fldate, wa-carrname, wa-connid.
    ENDLOOP.

  • How to update fields in multiple tables ?

    Dear all,
    What is the fastest way to update fields in multiple tables... from a single change table...as below is my code to update the fields but it is taking long time to update as i need to keep log file if any one update fails....

    Dear SeánMacGC thanks for reply,
    But "a.changed" is not a field in GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG. what i am doing in this procedure is i am collecting bulck data and validating field by field from GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG with GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER table as their structure is same.. if v_name is not same as v_name_chg then i am setting changed flag to "Y" changed is "changed dbms_sql.varchar2_table" and updating GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER in bluck where changed flag ='Y'...
    type custRec is record
    n_cust_ref_no dbms_sql.number_table,
    v_name dbms_sql.varchar2_table,
    v_name_chg dbms_sql.varchar2_table,
    rowid rowidArray,
    *changed dbms_sql.varchar2_table*
    i cannot use simple SQL as i need to validate field for each records with GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG and insert into log file as well.....
    to run this procedure:
    execute DO_DC_NAME_UPDATE_OTHER_TAB.DO_NAME_UPDATE_OTHER_TAB;
    Thanks...

  • Generic datasource by function module to fetch data from multiple tables?

    I'm writing a function module to fetch price, for generic datasource.
    At first, extract test is OK. But InfoPackage never stop  when loading data to PSA in BW.
    And I find the example codes:
         OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD S_CURSOR FOR
          SELECT (S_S_IF-T_FIELDS) FROM SFLIGHT
                                   WHERE CARRID  IN L_R_CARRID AND
                                         CONNID  IN L_R_CONNID.
        ENDIF.                             "First data package ?
    * Fetch records into interface table.
    *   named E_T_'Name of extract structure'.
        FETCH NEXT CURSOR S_CURSOR
                   APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS
                   OF TABLE E_T_DATA
                   PACKAGE SIZE S_S_IF-MAXSIZE.
        IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
          CLOSE CURSOR S_CURSOR.
          RAISE NO_MORE_DATA.
        ENDIF.
        S_COUNTER_DATAPAKID = S_COUNTER_DATAPAKID + 1.
      ENDIF.
    There using Cursor to fetch data package by package, and raise exception NO_MORE_DATA to stop the loading process.
    Now I fetch data from multiple tables, I don't think I can use Cursor.
    Then How can I handle this?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Using radio button selection in multiple tables

    Hello All,
    I've got a bit of a design issue and it being a Friday my brain is a bit foggy and I can't seem to figure out a solution.
    what I want to do is have 3 tables. The user should only be able to select one line from any of the three tables.
    I can do this by having events that clear down selection on the two other tables on any selection of the third, but the select buttons of tables don't really give the UI impression that only one row can be selected. To do this I'd like to use the radio button element.
    so
    table A
    choice - name
    (o) - Anne
    (o) - Bob
    (o) - Charlie
    Table B
    choice - name
    (x) - David
    (o) - Ellen
    (o) - Fran
    Table C
    choice - name
    (o) - George
    Here the entry in table B for David is selected. But any selection of any of the other options should deselected.
    My thoughts are to use a radio button ui element, bind the "selected" value to a unique id for each row/table (an attribute of the node element for each table) and the value to a common shared attribute (not table specific).
    Any better ideas - and certainly any which would mean I'm not going to have to maintain a lookup table of my unique ids and node elements to find out which one is selected?
    Cheers,
    Chris

    Ok - here's how I did it.
    I created another lookup table which had a guid and reference to the element.
    in the each elements I had a guid which I bound to the key for selection property of the radio button in the table.
    I then bound the selected key property to an attribute that was common to all elements.
    in my "processing" logic I read the selected key, read the lookup table - and therefore got the reference to the selected element.
    Would have been an awful lot easier if I could have used a reference to the element itself as the "key" - but that was required to be a character field.

    End result works quite nicely.
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • Move data from multiple Tables to a Single Table & Convert the list to ALV.

    Hi,
    My aim is to get the list of Materials with their descriptions, with MRP Controller, with Unrestriced Qty. & the Reorder Qty. So, I have to fetch the data from different tables. But finally I am not able to copy or move the fetched data from multiple tables into the single final table.
    Also tell me how to convert this list into ALV.

  • How to create transaction code for a Z-table

    How to create transaction code for a Z-table?
    Se93 --> then which radio button to be selected? and what is the program nam e to  be given

    Hi Sam,
    <b>Procedure to create a TCODE for ZTABLE:</b>
    Create a table maintainance/View for the Z* Table.
    Once you create the view goto SE93>Select Parameter transaction and give the short desc.>
    Give the transaction as SM30(Skip the first screen-optional)>Check all check boxes under GUI support>In the default values(grid)section first row give the VIEWNAME as you created initially and the second row UPDATE as X.
    <u><i>Se93 --> then which radio button to be selected</i></u>
    Select the parameter transaction as a radio button.
    <u><i>what is the program nam e to be given</i></u>
    no need to give any program name. Instead you have to give the transaction code name as SM30.
    Pls mark the helpful answers.

  • Can we use single DB Adapter for multiple tables

    Hi,
    I have 3 tables. ONE is the Master table and other 2 tables having Primary and foreign key relationships with the Master Table.
    Data is enter in the Tables 2 & 3 (based on Master Table Primary key)
    I have to use a DB Adapter in BPEL Process which will be in Transaction (what type of Transaction is Best in such a Scenario).
    - How do i implement it in BPEL.
    - Can i use a Single DB Adapter for Multiple Tables ? (*Views* should not be created for tables 1, 2 & 3),
    as we want to avoid using multiple DB Adapters, as in future Tables may increase or decrease...
    - while in Transaction if Table 2 fails in Inserting / Updating, it should roll back on error and also if Table 3 fails in Inserting / Updating, it should roll back table 2 and Table 3.
    - how access to concurrent users is maintained / managed in such a scenarios.
    But everything should be done using Single DB Adapter without creating a separate view.
    Is this Possible in BPEL..
    If not, How do we design, Implementation such a BPEL Process in Transaction with a best in Performance (both BPEL Process & DB Resources)
    thanks in advance
    thanks & regards,
    anvv sharma

    Hi,
    Thanks for your quick response.
    I have few quires.
    If we use PL/SQL, how do we implement transaction and Exception Handling appropriately based on the Error / Exception in BPEL.
    If the Table 2 or Table 3 gives out Error / Exception, i have to handle it separately and intimate accordingly.
    Suppose, if Table 2 got Error / Exception - Error Handling would be 'Roll back due to error in Table2'
    Thanks & regads,
