T-Gateway Set Up - WiFi

Hi, my mother and I just recently set up our Telstra T-Gateway. We complied with the handbook's instructions and set up everything correctly, however, we cannot connect to the internet. We're using the WiFi connection for our Windows 7 PC and it's able to connect to the computer yet it says there is "no internet access". We troubleshooted the problem and it reccommended we turn the T-Gateway off and on again. Hence, still no luck. Is there anything we missed out on?
Note: We've visited 10.0.0.138 in order to "activate" the device, but is there something we had to click on in order to activate it?
Thank you!

It would be good if innitially you could try an ethernet cable Gateway to computer first. Double check first up that your Bigpond Username and password are positively correct, Remember they can be case sensative.  Try the following steps and let me know the results? Factory default the Technicolor modem: - access the modem interface http://10.0.0.138- select Technicolor Gateway from the left hand menu - click on the link under Pick a Task where it says "Reset my Technicolor Gateway"- click the button marked "Yes, reset my Technicolor Gateway" Once the modem has restarted you will then need to configure the modem with your BigPond account details - access the modem interface http://10.0.0.138- click on Broadband Connection from the left hand menu- click on the Disconnect button in the PPPoEDSL section then "View More"- enter your BigPond username and password- click on connect

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from her old compouter to /Music/ in her account on this new computer.

    Sorry, but that's not possible.

The computer that I first used to download iTunes, to buy songs and to sync my iPod Nano to iTunes is no more.  I have a new computer that I inadvertently set my wife up on.  When I sign in, while I can see all my music in the iTunes library, when I tried to 'sync', I have lost all my music in my iPod and I now have my wife's library on there instead.
I subscribed to iTunes Match, thinking that this would help.  It hasn't and I'm not happy!
I have arranged to take my iPod into an Apple store next Tuesday but isn't there something you can tel me to do that ties my iPod wth my music and leaves my wife's music for her iPod?  Please help, I am so frustrated and have wasted so much time on this, reinstalling iTunes, restoring my iPod....
    Can anyone help?

If a restore did not fix it, you have a hardware issue--possible bad wi-fi radio.

How do i set up wifi calling?

Doesn't technically exist although there are easy ways around this.
I had a multi level apartment once. The bedrooms were partially underground. The neighbors had a network extender that caused many problems for our roomates. Luckily it didn't bother my phone.
Now a days verizon messages will work on wifi. I didn't have that option then so I used Google voice. I also used an app called condi or Tasker and groove ip.
Groove ip let's you make and receive free calls on wifi. If you have comcast triple play you can use their service too.
Basically I set my phone up to automatically forward my phone calls to my Google voice number. That way over wifi in my apt there was zero chances I would miss any calls. When I leave the apt and disconnect from wifi it would cancel call forwarding.
Other option is network extender. If you complain enough to verizon you can get one for $100. No way to prevent others from using it but you can give a certain amount of numbers priority.
Bottom line, verizon should offer this feature out of the box. But for now there are solutions.

  • TS1398 I can't set up wifi on my new ipad.

I can't set up wifi on my new ipad. It won't connect to the network. Wifi is working on other devices in the house.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • [Solved] Setting up wifi in Dell D620

    Hello,
I have Dell D620 laptop in witch I'm trying to set up WIFI.
    I was following by instructions in: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_Latitude_D620 and http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wir … 000-series
but after all I have error:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory
when I try to make it up with
    ifconfig wlan0 up
but it's visible in iwconfig and ifconfig -a
    I've tried to update linux-firmware also, but it's up-to-date.
I have autoload on in my rc.conf
    output from rfkill list:
    0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN
    Soft blocked: no
    Hard blocked: no

The problem was that I followed directly instructions and didn't checked that I have other wireless driver.

  • Set up wifi network in advance

I want to set up wifi access to a network IN ADVANCE of being at the house that the network is located (setting up a friend's iPad for when they visit their mom).  I can manually enter the network name and password - but the only option appears to be "Cancel" or "Join" and since the iPad isn't "in range" yet it obviously can't connect - and there doesn't appear to be a "Save" option to get around this.  So is there some other method of doing this that I'm not aware of?  Or does Apple not provide that ability?  Just trying to save them the steps of having to do that when the get there - they use the iPad for what they need but aren't use to going in to settings to do much.  Thanks.

You can't set the networks settings up in advance. There is no way to save the information. The iPad can only join networks that it can see and that means the device must be withing range of the network.
It really couldn't be much easier to join a network. You can easily talk them through it.

  • Set my wifes account up with mine.  Now all our data combines.  How do I set up an account just for her so we don't share all our contacts and such??

Set my wifes account up with mine.  Now all our data combines.  How do we set up her own account so we don't share all contacts and such??

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

  • Trouble setting up Wifi Syncing with iPhone 4

I'm trying to set up Wifi syncing with my iPhone 4 and when I disconnect the cable the device does not remain under devices on iTunes. This means wifi syncing is not possible.
    Any ideas what's going wrong?
    Thanks,

First you need to check the box 'Sync this iPhone over WIFI'.
Connect your device to your computer, select our iPhone under 'Devices' on iTunes left Pane.  Then on right Pane, scroll down under 'Summary' tab to check above box and click the APPLY button on the lower right window.

  • I just bought a 3rd gen ipod touch on ebay. i went to set up wifi in settings, but when i got there it wouldnt even let me push the wifi button, it was a faded lettering that said" wifi... no wifi" im at a loss. ive tried everything.

I just bought a 3rg gen ipod touch on ebay last week, and when i tried to go to the settings to set up wifi, it wouldnt even let me push the wifi button. it was that faded lettering that read " wifi................ no wifi" i cant even push the button to set it up. it was restored to factory settings when i bought it. ive tried EVERYTHING i can think of. i tried restoring it twice, and ive tried just turning it off and back on. Any help is very much appreciated.

If a restore to factory settings did not resolve the issue, it's a likely indicator of a hardware fault, meaning you'll need to or want to set up an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar.
