T Mobile iPhone 6 iOS 8.3 MMS configuration on Straight Talk

Good Day All!
I have a bit of a dilemma.
I purchased an iPhone 6 from T Mobile upon its release.
iOS 8.3
I own it.
I was a Straight Talk customer before T Mobile and went back now that my phone is unlocked.
APN is updated and I am able to access internet with no issues.
I need THE MOST RECENT MMS CONFIGURATION/SETTINGS FOR THIS PHONE
I've tried all the links this board has to offer.
PLEASE HELP!!!
THANKS

This is what worked for me after digging a little bit deeper.
Manual APN configuration.
If you do this you DO NOT need to install the APN SETTINGS as instructed by the Straight Talk Website.
Put in the SIM card and follow the instructions bellow.
It is from 2013 but works nonetheles.
Thanks SeanPatrick83

Re: mms on iphone 4s with straighttalkin response to Brinkmac
I figured out how to get the mms settings to work on Straight Talk using a Tmobile Compatible SIM from straighttalk.com without having to swap it out. I just cut the SIM card with a sim cutter that cost me about 5 bucks on Amazon and put it in the unlocked iPhone 4S and now I have 3G service without needing an AT&T compatible sim. I figured I could live with a Tmobile compatible SIM since straighttalk.com and Walmart.com were sold out of the AT&T micro sims. However if you don't have an unlocked iphone you could still use these mms settings with an AT&T compatible sim, that is if you can find one.

  • How to unlock my verizon iPhone (contract over) to use it with straight talk?

My contract with Verizon has expired I would like to use mi iPhone with straight talk some people told me that I have to unlock my phone…please help me with real solutions!!!

You can't. The Verizon iPhone 4S can not be used with any US carrier other than Verizon. If you want to use StraightTalk, sell the Verizon phone and buy a StraightTalk iPhone. They are a supported CDMA carrier. Neither StraightTalk, nor Apple support using an unlocked phone on Straight Talk.

  • IPhone 4S bought "unlocked." Worked with Straight Talk, not in France.

So I've had my iPhone 4S for a while and never had problems. Brought it to Straight Talk over a year ago after buying it unlocked on Amazon. Now I'm studying abroad for 6 months and I decided to buy a new SIM card and just use it here. So I bought a SIM card from Orange today. But... it says my phone doesn't support the SIM. Why?! It's supposed to be unlocked. Can anybody help me here? I'd rather be able to use my iPhone in France than buy a temp phone.

Here are AT&T's official requirements for unlocking an iPhone:

  • Straight talk MMS will not work on iPhone 5 purchased from Apple

Just purchased an iPhone 5 from Apple and activated on Straight Talk. Used the BYOD ( bring your own device ) option and purchased a SIM from ST. Everything works fine except my MMS. I even went and purchased a nano SIM from Tmobile. I have tried every suggestion found on the nets but none seem to work. I have tried all the APN settings mentioned. Without the APN settings I do not have the option to even select the camera icon while in messages. After Imanually enter the APN settings I then have the option to select the camera icon to choose existing or camera to send MMS. Everytime I try to send one it fails. It seems the only reason I needed the Tmobile SIM was to open cellular data. Cellular data was already an option without the Tmobile SIM. Nothing ever loads in the APN with Tmobile SIM or ST SIM. Called ST and got no help because was told since I brought my own device there was nothing they could do and to contact Apple. I know Apple would not be able to do anything for this, because it is not a phone issue but a cellular issue.

    Hi Guys,
I got exchange mail working. It seems issue is around "Push". I enabled "push", account verified & all worked well. After that I disabled push (I do not want it & to save mobile data use).
By googling, I found many have got it up & apple may fix it in it next iOS udpate.
    Regards,
    Mathew

  • Can I use the iPhone 6 t-mobile version with straight talk?

Can I use the iPhone 6 t-mobile version with straight talk?

    All,
I have read and understand most of the post (s) on this: Apple Support Community:
It looks like the long way around my elbow approach: (piecing together an iPhone 6+ with a Straight Talk AT&T /T Mobile; Compatible Nano SIM Card) may yet work, just a bit gun shy on the $949.00 cost for the iPhone 6+ from Apple.
I live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu (north shore), and have  an iPhone 4 8gb cdma iPhone which is on Verizon's network rebranded by TFW / Straight Talk for several years. It works fine but I need an iPhone with more storage.
I have had a talk / chat with both sides Apple & Straight Talk, neither have real answers to support using the iPhone 6+ with Straight Talk as a carrier.
On the Apple site: " http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ ". It is clear that Straight Talk has certified their LTE network with iPhone 6/6+ to meet basic standards.
I / we need all of the successful trail braisers on this community to post what works & what does not work.
What I plan / have to purchase / buy:
    Direct from Apple:
    1. Contract-free iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Space Gray (GSM) T-Mobile. (pending research to ensure it will work). Apple confirms, without the T Mobile nano sim that this iPhone is unlocked.
    Direct from Straight Talk:
    2. AT&T /T Mobile; Compatible Nano SIM Card. (GSM; on its way)
Would have purchased a Verizon Nano SIM Card from Straight Talk but they do not seem to have one.
All support, advice & information is greatly appreciated.
    V/R

  • Iphone and straight talk

i want to buy an iphone 4s from apple to use on straight talk. I am hearing that mms will not work, as well as some other features without going through a lot of hassle, buying tmobile sim cards, jailbreaking, bla bla bla. I am about to spend six hundred dollars on a phone and I really just want to turn it on go thru a couple steps and have it work! can someone enlighten me? if the iphone supports mms and straight talk does also, what is the deal? also, i dont know what os it comes with these days to look up fixes...any help? thank you in advance.

Okay so did that and data still isn’t working.
SMS works except for one thing -
I was texting one of my friends (who also has an iPhone) while connected to the internet so they were sending as iMessages but later on, when I wasn’t connected to the internet, she apparently texted me again and I didn’t receive the message until I got home and connected to the internet. Could this be possibly a problem with her contact information for me? As in she hasn’t saved my number in my contact information in her phone? I just asked her but she hasn’t responded yet - I’ll let you know what she says.
(Also, thank you for all of your help)

  • Straight Talk iPhone 5 without a SIM card, no data

I have an iPhone 5 from Walmart on their unlimited Straight Talk plan. This phone does not use a SIM card. If I do not have a wifi signal, I cannot use any data and cannot send picture messages. Straight Talk support has not been able to help. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Also, I've upgraded to os 6.1.3. So I can't jailbreak it either.

I still think it's related to operator settings. Did you follow all the instructions here http://iphone.straighttalk.com/? Especially the following.
To activate your service, go to straighttalk.com/Activate or call 1-877-877-1986 from another phone. You will need the MEID Number (also known as the Serial Number) which is located on the red Activation Card and on the bottom of the iPhone box in the IMEI/MEID field. You will also need a Straight Talk Unlimited Service Plan, which you can purchase at participating Walmart stores or with a credit card as part of the Activation process.
After completing the Activation, you will need secure Wi-Fi access OR a computer (requires PC or Mac) with the latest version of iTunes and an internet connection. To begin, simply turn your iPhone on, follow the prompts, and then choose a method to set up your iPhone:
    • Using Wi-Fi: Simply select “Use Wi-Fi” then follow the on-screen prompts. When you receive the “Carrier Settings Update” pop-up, make sure to select “Update”; the phone will return to the main screen as the update runs in the background. This process can take up to a few minutes, depending on the speed of your Wi-Fi connection. Note: No SIM card is required for your iPhone, so disregard any messages asking for one.
    • Using iTunes via a computer: Simply open the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC computer, then connect your iPhone to it using the USB cable that came in your package. Once you read and agree to the License Agreement, sync your iPhone with iTunes. You will receive a pop-up asking if you would like to download an update for your carrier settings—select “Download and Update.” Note: If you receive an alert saying there is no SIM card installed in the iPhone—simply ignore and select continue. No SIM card is required for your iPhone.
** After completing the setup, you MUST call *22890 from your iPhone to program it.

  • Verizon iPhone 5 straight talk 2 Verizon?

I've got a Verizon iPhone 5 that was once used on straight talk service, but am wanting to now use with a Verizon service plan. I've heard some say it can't be done, I was can be done. Can it? If so how can I do this?

Well, normally the answer would lie in whether your previous carrier worked over a gsm or cdma network. Verizon requires CDMA compatibility. However, Straight Talk is a bit different in that it actually uses both networks, and so just knowing the previous carrier in this case is not enough information.
But there is an easy way to find out for sure. There is a model number on the back of your iphone 5. Here are the different possibilities, pasted directly from the apple support website:
Model number on the back cover:
    A1428: iPhone 5 (GSM model)
A1429: iPhone 5 (GSM and CDMA model)
A1442: iPhone 5 (CDMA model, China)
So since you need CDMA for Verizon, you will want your model to be A1429. I doubt you have the Chinese model A1442, but if you did, that should work too.

  • My CDMA Straight Talk iPhone 5 was defective and the Apple Store replaced it. But now I can't activate the new iPhone!

I have been to the Apple Store twice now, and my original iPhone has been replaced three times since Tuesday. Straight Talk says they are getting an error on their end when trying to activate and add the phone to my existing account. They are insistent that the phone I have is not a CDMA iPhone and that I need to go back to the Apple Store again to get another phone. My iPhone said that it is activated on CDMA US network, and shows bars and the 3G symbol; and yet my carrier doesn't show up on the top bar where it should be. The iPhone I have now is in fact CDMA with the part number A1429. Has anyone experienced a similar issue when they had their Straight Talk iPhone replaced?

My friend threw a Straight Talk SIM card in so now it is working on the GSM network. The service isn't as good but at least my phone works again.

  • Iphones and Straight Talk

If I purchase a brand new unlocked iphone 5s from Apples website and order a Sim Card from Straight Talk and Transfer my phone number will it work? LOL I have straight talk and a Iphone 4 currently i want to upgrade to the iphone 5s they dont sell it on straight talks website so i was wondering if it would work.

ok i checked some mvno at&t sellers. and the ones i checked will have no problem reselling you at&t service on your bring your own device at&t unlocked iphone (a1532 or a1533 ) so you will not waste 650 if the walmart scheme fails.
aio wireless -  - 9.99 for sim +  plans start at $40 lte bands 17/4
air voice wireless - looks like a yes -  $4.99 for sim plans start at $30 - no lte
    black wireless - $10 for a nano sim (plus shipping) plans start at $30 ($30 - 50 mb $60 3gb - no lte
consumer cellular - free sim module - works on iphone 5s (nano) costs about 60 for voice and data - no lte
    i checked wikipedia
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_mobile_virtual_network_operat ors
and checked those websites to make sure i could actually order service.
although net 10 will activate iphones, they don't sell nano sims, so you would have to modify it

  • Straight Talk & iPhone 5s

I am going to get an iPhone 5s soon and I was wondering if I should get the contract-free or att iPhone 5s, I am going to use straight talk on it.
So if I buy the att iPhone 5s and swap the sim card with a straight talk one, would I still have to be paying att even though I am not using their service and just buying the straight talk prepaid cards?
    Thanks!

    Hi RetroMining,
You wouldn't be able to swap the SIM on an AT&T phone. Unless you purchase the TMobile version which is contract-free, the phone will only work with the carrier you select:

  • Since moving my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.4 to straight talk I cannot send or receive mms messages. How can I fix that?

Help me please... Since moving my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.4 to straight talk I cannot send or receive mms messages. How can I fix that?

Since Straight Talk, using a GSM iPhone is not "officially" supported, you're gonna have to configure the APN settings manually. Go here:
    http://www.unlockit.co.nz/unlockit/
This site is a collection of APN setting for unsupported GSM carriers. This is a good place to get the correct settings for your phone.

  • HT4623 Why can't I send MMS messages on IOS 7.0.2 from my Iphone 4s on Straight Talk?

After upgrading my Iphone 4S to IOS 7.0.2 I no longer can send MMS messages.  I have already reset the network settings several times.  This is very anowing and I have lost sales because of it.

Ask straight talk why you can't send MMS - since it is a carrier feature.
are you provisioned to use MMS?  Do you have MMS turned ON.

  • I have an unlocked iphone 3gs running ios 6.0 currently with straight talk. I was able to get all the functions working except mms.Do you think this issue will be resolved ? I really would like that option on my phone. I have tried everything.

Can't get mms. to work have, tried everything I have found online.ST tells me it's Apples' problem Apple tells me it's STs' problem.Does anyone think this issue will be resolved ? My phone is an Apple unlocked 3gs running ios 6.0 on Straight Talk using atts' towers.

I am having the same problem but cannot get anything but the actual phone to work.  I have a unlocked 3GS running 6.0 (what was I thinking?).  No data whatsoever, no texting, no visual voicemail.  I simply cannot access the APN settings.  I have tried sim swap, I have tried APN changers.  I have been on the phone with ST tech support for hours and hours.  I have tried to get the answers from a "genius".  I am stuck and looking at Android devices, but would really like to keep using the iphone with Straight Talk.
