  • Factory Unlocked on T-Mobile: iMessage & Facetime Both Verified As Activated But Do Not Work

    Hardware: Iphone 4
    OS: 5.1.1
    Factory Unlocked
    Network: T-Mobile (USA).
    Hi all.
Like many I am having a problem getting iMessage & Facetime to work, however, the unique problem I seem to be having is that while both iMessage & Facetime report back that they are activated, neither work.
Anything attempted to be sent through iMessage fails to send. Standard SMS/MMS is only available. Iphone users attempting to send me iMessages are only able to transmit via SMS/MMS as well.
Facetime will not connect to anyone. Every attempt is met with an immediate "Call Failed." prompt on both my end and the Sender's end.
I am completely miffed as up until this on my other iPhone, a 3GS running 5.1.1  also on T-Mobile, there were no problems with iMessage or Facetime (unofficial tweak)
Thus far I have done the following which has yileded no success:
    - Delink my Apple ID from iMessage & Facetime > Turn off Services > Turn off Phone > Restart > Reactive Services >  Relink Apple ID > Reactivate and Verify iMessage & Facetime.
    - Hard Reset (Power + Home)
    - Change DNS to 8.8.8.8
    - Remove my Apple ID > Turn off Phone > Restart > Reactivate & Verify iMessage and Facetime w/o linking Apple ID (Phone no. only).
I'm at a loss at this point. Does anyone have any other ideas? It cannot be a factor of Tmobile as Tmobile plays no factor in iMessage & Facetime ability, they are both network agnostic features as I understand. Additionally, both these features work on my 3GS.

    At another users suggestion I:
Disabled both iMes & FT, turned off wifi, rebooted, and then enable both without wifi.
    Waited 15 minutes to activate
No dice. They both required me to enter my Apple ID, gave the me the warning about charges for text message to activate, waited 10 minutes and again both reported as activated.
Tried sending an Imessage and it failed (both with Wifi off and then Wifi on). I have not tried Facetime but I expect more of the same.
As a final measure, I reset the phone, restored and re-activated which did not solve the problems.
Immensly frustrated at this point. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  • Does anyone have personal hotspot working w/ iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2, & T-Mobile (USA)?

I currently can't get my personal hotspot feature working on my iPhone 5 with T-Mobile USA. I'm trying to figure out where my issue lies, whether it's bad hardware, a bug in iOS, or an issue with my T-Mobile account. I have the latest iOS update (6.0.2).
It doesn't work no matter how I try to connect to it (wi-fi, bluetooth, USB).
When I try via wi-fi, the wireless icon in the top right (in Mac OS X) does its little connecting animation, and then shows an exclamation point "!".
When I try via Bluetooth, the Bluetooth PAN status in Network settings reads "Not Connected", even though I have it paired.
When I try via USB, the iPhone USB status in Network settings reads "Not Connected", even though I have my iPhone plugged into my MacBook Pro.
And yes, I have the hotspot option on my wireless plan with T-Mobile.

I can happily say that whatever the issue was, the iOS 6.1 update has fixed it. So it must have been an iOS issue.

  • I bought Ebey NEW Boxed (NEVER OPENED) 16GB Black Iphone 5 Virgin Mobile (USA) NO CONTRACT, want to use it in Europe, particularly in Ukraine, but for some reason now my phone does not see the Ukrainian GSM sim card.

I bought Ebey NEW Boxed (NEVER OPENED) 16GB Black Iphone 5 Virgin Mobile (USA) NO CONTRACT, want to use it in Europe, particularly in Ukraine, but for some reason now my phone does not see the Ukrainian GSM sim card. Please help to solve this problem.

Return it and get your money back. Virgin does not offer official unlocking, thus there's no way to get the phone officially unlocked for you to use it.
Sorry, but you wasted your money.

  • When is the iphone 5 coming out on virgin mobile USA.

I'm wanting to upgrade to the iphone 5, but don't want to pay alot per month. I know that the iphone 4 & 4s are currently on virgin mobile but so far have not herd of the iphone 5 coming. Does any one know if it is coming to virgin mobile usa and when ?

  • Need to know how the AUTO BCC feature works on T-Mobile USA

    HI,
am hoping to get an explanation on how the Auto BCC on T-Mobile USA works in the background. I have an 8900 that is setup on exchange using T-Mobile account settings and uses the Outlook Web access email.
When emails are sent from the device, a copy gets sent to the sent items which is fine.  I would like to know that if I use the auto BCC within T-Mobile if those email are being sent from exchange or the Blackberry servers in Canada?  Also will the emails that are forwarded be sent to the sent item of the exchange server?
    thank you in advance

    Hi teckystuff,
Is your email is integrated in your BlackBerry Internet Service account as an OWA account?  If so, when you are sending from your BlackBerry you are still sending from your exchange account. Your device is using the BlackBerry Internet Service to communicate with your exchange account so the BCC sent from your device email integration is still being sent from your exchange email account whether on the device or from Outlook or OWA. Any email you send or forward from your device should be posted to your sent items folder on exchange.

  • Trouble switching carriers T-Mobile USA to Trigcom Norway

I am temporarily switching carriers, while traveling as a student in Norway for the semester, from T-mobile to Trigcom, a Norwegian carrier. I have Curve from T-mobile USA.
Despite excellent customer support on both sides, I have been unable to get my phone to work with Trigcom's BIS. I was wondering if you all had any suggestions on what to try.
After swapping in the Trigcom SIM card into my unlocked T-mobile Curve, I was unable to get capital EDGE letters for a signal, which prevented me from using the internet, email, WIFI (I would get an IP but not be able to browse) (but strangely, the Wall Street Journal mobile reader still worked through Wifi).  The SIM card worked in a different Blackberry that Trigcom allowed me to borrow til they figured out what was wrong with my phone. They noticed some differences in some of the settings with the 4.2 OS from T-Mobile, so they upgraded to 4.5, which is what they use, and those differences disappeared, but still no EDGE (just little edge).
The phone worked very well in Norway (especially UMA) with the original T-mobile curve and T-mobile international blackberry service and roaming phone. But it doesn't work with this new service.
Was wondering if anyone had suggestions for what to look for. Trigcom suggested there could be some unknown difference in the device's antenna that could be causing the problem. Also what are some questions I could ask T-mobile's customer support to help?
    Thanks!

After many calls to both carriers and their calls to their RIM support, the only thing that worked was to give Trigcom my purchase receipt for my phone (to prove it wasn't stolen) and they were able to fix the problem immediately. I wish I had done this earlier.
The lesson I learned is if you are switching carriers even temporarily, take your receipt to the new carrier and they can resolve any problems you may have. T-mobile, despite their friendly customer support, was ill equipped to help me transfer my account to another provider. The customer support on Trigcom's side was far more technically adept.

  • Getting a text message from T-Mobile USA on O2 UK...?

    Hi,
A friend of mine who lives in the US and who has a BlackBerry (on the T-Mobile USA network) has tried several times to send me text messages on my iPhone 3G (on the O2 UK network), but to no avail.
I have contacted O2, but surprise surprise they told me that nothing is wrong at their end. I thought that the problem was maybe related to my upgrading to iOS 4.0.x, but yesterday I reverted to 3.1.3 and I am still not able to get text messages from my friend.
Surely, there has to be something wrong with either my iPhone 3G, the operating system, and/or O2? For information, my friend is able to text to Germany (and the US, obviously) without any problem... so it's not like she can't text to Europe...
Anyway, this is very frustrating, so hopefully someone knows something about this...?
    Cheers, Alan.

For what it is worth, I found an 'old' phone of mine with a still-active Virgin SIM card in it. So, I thought I would ask my friend to text me to that other number and see whether I would get her text message. Well... surprise, surprise, I did get her text message. So, to me, it tells me that there is either something wrong with my iPhone 3G and/or the O2 network. I therefore decided to re-contact O2 and tell them about it, but... surprise, surprise again, they keep telling me there is nothing wrong. Completely useless!

  • Don't receive MMS from other carriers (such as Virgin Mobile USA)

My mother has a camera phone from Virgin Mobile USA and sometimes likes to send MMS pictures to me on my BlackBerry (MetroPCS). The problem is, I've never received any. I have also sent MMS to my Berry from my Virgin Mobile phone with the same results.
I do receive picture attachments in email on my Berry, which I suppose is a way around the problem, but am really curious as to why I would not receive MMS pictures.
I am able to send MMS from my BlackBerry such as to YouTube's email upload service.
I disabled the option to block MMS from anonymous numbers as well, so am at a loss.
    Thank you.

Check with you carrier support to know whether intra-operator MMS is supported or not.

  • Can i use Iphone 5s contract free t mobile ( USA) in india with local carrer???

Hi , my friend is in USA and buy contract free T-mobile iphone 5s from apple store for me and i m in india
He will send me phone by this week
I want to know should i unlock it or directly can use with my local gsm sim .

Make sure your friend only purchases from Apple, no where else. Only Apple sells officially unlocked iPhones in the US, & the T-Mobile labeled iPhone is officially unlocked if putchased from Apple.
But, your warranty/support will only be valid in the US, & the phone will not support LTE in India.
Any issues, no authorized source will touch the phone in India, or help you in anyway.

  • Virgin Mobile (USA) can't activate iPhones

I was having a problem with Virgin Mobile's 3G network not working on an iPhone 4s (https://discussions.apple.com/message/19229251#19229251). Eventually Virgin decided the phone was probably defective and that I needed a new one.
On Sunday I got a replacement at an Apple Store. But Virgin wasn't able to activate it. They can't find the MEID in their system, so they say there's basically nothing they can do. They said I'd have to go get another new phone to replace this one.
On Tuesday I got another replacement at an Apple Store. Virgin Mobile can't activate this one either, for exactly the same reason. I was on the phone with Virgin for an hour and 45 minutes and it was a complete waste of time.  They want me to go back to Apple for a third replacement phone.
I could probably do that but I don't know why it would work this time when it's failed twice this week already.
Virgin just keeps telling me that they're doing something or other and that I'll have to wait 1-3 days for any news. I've already been without phone service for four days.
Is anyone else having problems where Virgin Mobile just can't activate an iPhone? If so, did you ever get it resolved? They sell these phones and advertise them, but they don't seem to be able to actually make them work.

They finally got it working after five days with no service.
If this happens to you: That is, you try to activate a Virgin Mobile phone and they say they can't find the phone's MEID and that you need to replace the phone: Prepare for some frustration, but the following steps may help.
When calling Virgin's customer support, just ask for technical support immediately. Don't try to deal with their front-line customer support for this.
When you get to tech support, if they can't actviate the phone immediately, ask them to escalate the case. In my case I was escalated to tier 3 tech support and then from Virgin Mobile to Sprint (Virgin's parent company in the USA). At that point, things got fixed.
Don't take the phone back to Apple for a replacement unless you have some unrelated reason (e.g. if the phone is clearly defective somehow). Virgin Mobile won't be able to activate the replacement either, so it's a waste of time.
Keep after Virgin for updates on your case. They'll tell you over and over that it will be 24-72 hours before you get news, but don't hesitate to ask as often as you have time for. They told me 24-72 hours every day for a week. You can do this by email if you prefer-- send email to [email protected]
    Good luck! You'll need it.

  • Will the iphone 5 be released to Virgin Mobile USA ?

    need answer ASAP

If you look on the Apple store USA, you will see that there are only 3 possible phone companies that you can sign contracts with to get an iPhone, so probably not.

  • When will the iPhone 6 be available to purchase through Virgin Mobile USA?

I want to upgrade as soon as possible, but unfortunately the iPhone 6 can only be purchased through Virgin Mobile in Canada and Australia so far. Does anyone have any idea when it'll be available here in the US?

You can pre-order it on Friday with a contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon and it will not cost you 700$, but remember that you are tied into that contract for 2 years and your phone will be locked to that carrier and you can't get it unlocked until your 2 year contract is up.

That  doesn't sound like you bought it from a legimate source with a receipt from the Apple store.
that sounds like you bought it off a person either thru craiglist or ebay.
