T-online account in iMac mail

Hi,
maybe somebody had the same problem with his T-Online account and has an idea. I've changed my T-online contract to Call & Surf last week, the internet connection is working fine but I have problems with my email account which was working alright before.
Before I've had an account using my [email protected] with mail.t-online.com as a server. I was wondering that I didn't receive any emails anymore after changing the contract.
The problem is...
I deleted the old account and created a new one with [email protected] Still no emails.
If I send an email from the account now it sends with [email protected] I don't know why but I can't change or merge the benutzerkennung-suffix-email-address with the [email protected] I had before. Not on the router, not online. I've tried to create a new account with [email protected], but then I have a email-address with 20 digits . Not really practible?
Any idea? T-Online has no support software for mac as far as I know...
Bye Dorit

Hab die Lösung...war der falsche Mailserver. Jetzt gehts...

  • After installing Mavericks on my iMac, Apple Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  Now Mail crashes every time I open it.  What's up?

After installing Mavericks on an imac, Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  After I clicked on All Mail the program crashed and now it crashes every time I open Mail.  Does anyone have an suggestions?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • How to turn off iCloud Mail in my online account

My icloud.com, me.com and mac.com addresses get loads of junk mail so I want to stop using iCloud Mail. I've turned it off on my iMac. my iPad and my iPhone, but can't see a way to turn it off online so that any mail sent to it just goes into a black hole or, preferably, gets bounced back to the sender of junk.
    With thanks

On the iCloud website, set up three Rules (click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose Rules) to move all messages addressed to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] to the Trash. It will be deleted from there after 30 days.
You can't set up an automatic bounce, but in any case please, never bounce spam. Most spam has forged 'From' addresses so all you are doing is sending yet more spam to totally innocent people (who are probably already getting a lot of bounces because of this) and making a bad situation worse. Even if the 'From' address is genuine, I very much doubt any spammer is going to remove your address from a huge list  (they certainly would get a lot of bounces from actually dead addresses) - and in any case they can probably tell it's not a genuine bounce easily enough, so now you've just confirmed that your address works. Don't bounce it - just delete and forget.

without changing settings, iMac mail V4.6,  1)will not save password   2)takes accounts offline  3)will not except password   4)will not send mail from accounts every time.
What happen?  How do I correct this?

    Hi Nuch1,
I found an article that is contains very thorough Mail troubleshooting steps:
OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3276
You can use that article to figure out what part of the email "ecosystem" is the cause of the issue, and it can also help you attempt to resolve it.
    Hope that helps,
    David

  • Is it possible to get my email folders from my iMac mail tool up to my icloud account?

Is it possible to get my email folders from my iMac mail tool up to my icloud account?
I would like to access my mail tool folders while I am traveling overseas with my ipad.
Alternately, is it possible to get my mail tool folders onto my ipad?
imac:   Mac OS X  Version 10.7.5
    mail tool:  Version 5.3

Your iCloud cannot access other accounts. You can set up the Mail app on your iPad to access other accounts just the same as on your Mac - the only issue might be with the ISP who provides your internet connection, as some services require you to be actually connected to them to send, and possibly even to receive though that would be more unusal.
If any of your other accounts provide webmail you could use that.
Otherwise you could set up forwarding on the other accounts so that messages are sent on to your iCloud account (I should set it to leave a copy on the original server) - however you cannot send using anything other than your iCloud email address as the 'From' address using iCloud outgoing server.
As to existing messages, if the account is IMAP then the messages can be accessed from any device that signs into the account; if the account is POP then received messages live on your Mac. You can copy them up to iCloud in the Mail application on your Mac by creating a new folder or folders on iCloud and then dragging the messages to these folders - hold the option key down to retain the messages on your Mac and duplicate them to iCloud. Move messages, not folders, and don't try to move a huge amount at a time. Remember that they will take up space on your iCloud account.

  • I have set up my Yahoo! account to be used as default mail account on iMac. I am receiving messages, but cannot send them.  All settings appear to be right.  What can I do?

I have set up my Yahoo! account to be used as default mail account on iMac. I am receiving messages, but cannot send them.  All settings appear to be right.  What can I do?

The problems I am having are when I use Yahoo! with the iMac mail application.  Yahoo works fine on the browser.
The outgoing settings I am using are:
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): yahoo.co.uk (Offline)
    Description: yahoo.co.uk
    Server name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Use default ports (25, 465, 587)
    Use SSL
    Authentication: Password
    User Name:  ********@yahoo.co.uk
    Password: *************
    Of note:
I cannot stop it from saying Offline after the outgoing mail server.
I have used the same settings on my ipad and iphone and that works fine.
Really grateful if you can help.
    Thanks

Well make sure you add manually the account and don't let Mail set it up automatically. I actually found instructions from AOL itself for Mail IMAP setup.

  • How do I add my Yahoo Mail account in the iMac Mail? (Please help...) :(

I tried adding the Yahoo account in my Mail, but it said "Trying to log into mail server "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com" failed. This server may require additional fee for Yahoo POP access"?
    What does this mean?
Is there no way at all that I can somehow add my yahoo account in the iMail?
    Someone please kindly help...:(
Thank you so much in advance for your time and support.

    *"What does this mean?"*
It means that if you don't pay for Yahoo Mail Plus, you can't have POP access.
*"Is there no way at all that I can somehow add my yahoo account in the iMail? "*
    Pay for Yahoo Plus

  • TS3276 Well it happened again. Why does my apple me account stop sending mail for no apparent reason. One minute it is working find and 10 seconds latter you get error messages that it does not recognize your password. I am really fed up with the mail sof

Things were going well. Mail was working fine and then the following error message appears out of nowhere. I had not changed any settings. From that point on all efforts to send mail failed, and the error message appeared even thought I used the password to log back in after I quit. Now, an hour after the problem started it takes my password (on the second try after the error message appears) once and sends a test message. Then, one minute later it gives the error message again and refuses to send anything. Why is mail so inconsistent? What can I do in the future to address the problem?
Error message reads "The SMTP server "xxxxx" rejected the password for user "xxx" Please re-enter your password or cancel.
When mail does work again. Should I click the remember this password in keychain or am I just asking for more trouble?
I'm writing this using my IMac computer in a different room. The error also occurs on my powerbook running my new MacBook Pro 12 inch.
    Fed up Mac user.

I"m no expert but this used to happen to me all the time (stop downloading, asking for my password, nothing downloading, walking away- 24 hours or more later, all is fine, only to later start all over again)
Well, i gave up for a long time and stopped using that account with mac mail and only accessed it online..recently went and changed the pop3 to only pop and now it works beautifully and seamlessly. Don't ask me why or how, but it does so thought I'd share.

  • IPhone Mail vs. iMac Mail

When I check for mail on my iPhone it ties up my servers and the same account goes offline on my iMac mail. The only way I can get it back is to turn off my iPhone to 'free' up my account. The error message on my iMac makes it appear that my iPhone is staying online and not log out of my mail providers server.
    I am using AT&T Worldnet.

I access my .Mac account as an IMAP account with no such problem - I keep the Mail application on my Mac launched and running checking the account for new messages while the Mail client on my iPhone is doing the same with no problems. This also allows for the spam filtering being done with the Mail application on my Mac to be reflected with the iPhone's email client.
I also access a business account as a POP account with my iPhone and I can't do the same. I cannot have the Mail application on my Mac checking the account for new messages at the same time as the iPhone's Mail client.
A POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.

  • I've a new account on iMac.  When composing an email the contact list does not show up on the bar.  WWhen I start keying in a name, it comes up with the address.  How do I engage the  contact list from the email?

I've a new account on iMac.  When composing an email the contact list does not show up on the bar, which would allow me to select the persons I want to include on the distribution of the email.  When I start keying in a name in the email, it comes up with the person's address, which shows it is synced.  How do I engage the contact list from the email like I do on my old account (where a contact list icon shows up, along with the "attach" and other icons) ?

With the New Message window open, go to the View menu and select "Customize Toolbar...".
In the screen that opens, drag the item labelled "Address" into the Toolbar area of the New Message window, then click the "Done" button.
That item should be then added to the Toolbar for the New Message window.
Note that the main Mail window and the New Message window (as well as the separate message window if you open a message that way) use different toolbars - the settings/inclusions for one do not carry over to another.

  • I have several accounts downloading into mail.  Mail randomly asks me for my password on 2 of the accounts.  How do I fix this?

I have several accounts downloading into my IMAC Mail.  Recently, it started randomly asking my for my password on one or more of the accounts.  Although I have checked the box to tell it to remember the password in my keychain, it's memory is only temporary.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks

  • How can I set up my mail account to receive mail?

I have a brand new imac i'sight 3.06 Ghz, 500GB etc. I have added my UK hotmail email account to the mail application and I am able to send email directly from the application from my hotmail mailbox, but when i press 'Get new mail' the bar flashes and shows that I am receiving mail but I cannot see it in the inbox.
    Can anyone help?
I can send email, but I cannot see email in my inbox.
    Thanks
    J

I don't have Hotmail, but generally, web based email accounts need to be set up within that account (in this case Hotmail) - you need to go to your Hotmail account and check if it can be set up as an IMAP or POP account with emails automatically being forwarded to Mail. Hopefully someone with a Hotmail account will chime in with more specific info; in the meantime, check out the options in your account there.

  • How do I add my UQ email account to Mac Mail?

I want to add my UQ email account to the mail on the desktop, but it won't let me. It just says that the password is wrong (but its the same password I use to acess the email account online, through UQ) They tried to add it in the store but couldn't...but they thought that it might have something to do with their interent restrictions. Has anyone been able to do it?

you need to contact suddenlink and ask them what POP settings to use. we can not help you with that.
