T/X touchscreen calibration help

I am frustrated with my touchscreen because it won't calibrate no matter how many times I do it.  The alignment is off by different amounts depending on which side of the screen I'm touching.  It's especially irritating entering info in the daily agenda and selecting drop down menus, etc.  It's fine if I'm in the Graffiti area but I can see how much it's off if I test it out in the notepad function.
Anyone know of any other way to calibrate it other than the installed function in preferences?  I hope this is fixable because I really want the Treo 755p and I don't want this issue to happen to the phone too.
Thanx!

Thanks Stevemark.  The calibration software did work.  But I still have limited writing space in the graffiti squares.  Only the lower right quarter works.  Everywhere else it skips and I end up with periods or a period and a wrong letter.  Also the capitals area is very limited and I often have to retry 4-5x before I get the right letter.  Any suggestions?

  • Need iMac G5 (iSight) monitor calibration help (RGB Channels?)

I understand the need to calibrate my display so that the final print matches what I see on my display. I plan to use the Gretag Macbeth Eye One Display calibrator, which I have already used on my last CRT monitor, with good results. I needed to adjust the Brightness, Contrast and RGB Channels individually to get the profile on the CRT monitor. I cannot seem to find these same controls in the iMac G5. Am I just blind...or do they not exist in this computer? Please help! Thank you, Regina
    iMac G5 iSight   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

You do not have individual channel calculation on an LCD at least not with the G-M software (apple's built-in calbrator does a software calibration for individual channels, but you'll still be closer with the Eye-One Match results). Brightness you can set with the slider in display or by using the keyboard controls. Contrast is in universal access, but you should just leave it alone. The default setting is the correct one for beginning a G-M calculation.
EDIT Are you aware that there was an update to the G-M software a couple of weeks ago? You can download it from their website.

  • HP 23xi IPS monitor calibration help

    Hi All,
So I have a HP 23xi 23" monitor i've been using for less than a year. Suddenly today my hyperlinks became very hard to discern from dark blue and seems almost black as if it's just regular text.  I have not had this problem until today when I was reading a Wiki page and some of the links seemed to turn black. They are hyperlink and are the links that I have already clicked on so it should turn from light blue to the dark blue but it now seems as if it's closer to black. How do I change this back to normal again and what the heck caused this?
I connected my computer to my old monitor and on that the colors seem fine as I can discern the blue, dark blue and black fonts but back on the HP the dark blue is like a black.  I also installed the calibration tool from the CD but I can't find anything on there to help adjust it so that the dark blue is different from the black.
This monitor was working fine until today. Nothing new done to the computer today except 1 windows definition update. Could that have caused this problem?  I have updated the driver for the monitor as well to the latest 2013 Jan version.
HP 23xi with my comp running windows 7 64bit.
    Thanks in advance.

Best way to calibrate any monitor is with a calibration tool from places like X-Rite or Datacolor. There are others if I recall correctly.

Hello and welcome to the Forums.
Unfortunately if you have truly done the hard reset as stated and the issue persists, the only thing left at this point is to setup a repair or replace of the device.
To discuss repair options you can contact us at 866-935-7256 to see what the options are. Also you can go to DirectFix.com and they have replacement parts and do repairs as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • AIR, fullscreen, cpu power and a touchscreen pc: Help!

    hello all
i need help on AIR in fullscreen mode, cpu power and cores.
i am a ("2 years old") self taught AS3 programmer, and i have written a specific gaming application which is intended to run on a touchscreen pc in full screen mode, as a gaming kiosk.
i am coding and debugging on my old G5 dual 2.3 PowerPC mac (screen resolution:11572x870) and i have found that some rendering operations are hard for my computer to do (frame rate drops significantly), even after doing much optimization tricks (like the excellent ones provided by Sean Christmann - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/max-2008-develop/optimizing-adobe-air-for-code-execution-memory- rendering/)
when i scale the app window down performance improves a lot (but i need it fullscreen)
as i have never learned computer programming (i am a sound designer "by day"), the terms "no graphics hardware acceleration" and "single threaded" came a bit too late for me... so although I'm not so sure flash/air/as3 was the best way to go to achieve my idea, i currently don't want to switch to another platform/languge.
i am about to purchase a  touchscreen pc for this purpose. i am considering an HP touchsmart or a Sony VAIO-L for that.
my first question is: do multiple cores affect AIR performance ?
    hp's best model has an Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T9800 [2.93GHz, 6MB L2, 1066 FSB]
    and sony's best model has a 2.66GHz (Q8400S) Intel® Core® 2 Quad Processor
my second question is: is there any "wrapper" out there that will wrap my AIR app and help it by using the graphics card for accelaration?
    thanx in advance,
    Saar

i'm not seeing this, i ran a few demos in both gtk-demo and gtk3-demo, flipped thru a bunch of menus real fast, and the cpu usage for both was nearly indentical.  those affected should probably post more info about their setup such as what graphic driver they're using and if they're on 32 or 64 bit arch, etc.
    my relevant setup info:
    fully updated arch-x86_64
    openbox
xf86-video-nouveau 0.0.16_git20120324-1 (compiled myself from that date in order to be able to use the new SwapLimit option for reliable double buffering with vsync)

  • MSI Windtop touchscreen calibration

    Hey,
I have the MSI AE2420 3D, and my touchscreen isn't calibrated properly.
The "tablet PC" option available in win7 control panel has a very imprecise calibration system.
I can't find any calibration software on my MSI driver CD.
Can you recommend any precise calibration program for my touchscreen?
    Thank you.

There is no special calibration software but the Win7 means: http://acer--uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/427/~/how-to-calibrate-touch-in-windows-7

  • Macbook Air Calibration Help (LSN133BT01A02)

I am new to the whole Calibration thing. I researched and found that allot of Macbook Air screens have a yellowish tint.
    My screen: LSN133BT01A02
The colors don't really pop out that much and appear "washed out".
I have never calibrated in my life. I just recently started noicing the colors lacking when the guy sitting next to me showed me his macbook pro retina.
I mean, the comparison is way off but the depth of color was still lacking even compared to my macbook pro hi res.
I read people fixed this isssue. And I think my screen is a Samsung.
I like it allot. I am very new to Apple. Longtime PC user. Any help would be great.
I also used google. Mostly old Summer threads with LG screens not much info on mine.

From the menu bar, select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Displays ▹ Color ▹ Calibrate.

  • Macbook Pro 13" Screen Model 9CAO Calibration help?

This is the screen that I have on my new Macbook Pro. Would anyone out there have a screen profile calibration for this screen model that I could add to my screen (display) profiles. I have tried to do simple calibrations on my own but unfortunately I don't have great eyes and the results have been very average. I have tried a few profiles meant for other screen model #s, but I think these screens vary quite a lot.
    thanks in advance

  • Palm TX won't go past touchscreen calibration

I recently (= 30 minutes ago) did a hard reset on my TX.  Now, it keeps asking me to "tap in the center of the target" in a seemingly infinite loop.  Is this a sign that the touchscreen has failed or is failing?

The digitizer may be going bad and may need repaired.
You can try this process to see if there is any debris that is stuck under the screen edge.
Take a business card or folded piece of paper. Stick it in the gap between the edge of the screen and the case. Move around the perimeter of the screen and see if you can get out any debris.
If that doesn't work, the digitizer on the device is probably defective and needs replaced.
You can contact Palm for repair or find replacement parts at pdaparts.com or usedpdaparts.com

  • IPad 2 touchscreen calibration is off - How to fix?

I use my iPad 2 a lot to draw and I have noticed an area of the touchscreen where the sensitivity is not precise anymore.
There is a vertical area where even if I try to draw 45 degrees lines the ipad does a ripple.
I have documented the problem in two different apps (links to screen grabs):
    Autodesk's Sketchbook
    Infinite Sketchpad
I have visited the Berlin Apple store today and the Apple Genius told me to do a software reset and proposed to subsitute my iPad at the usual rates. I have tried to demonstrate the problem, but alas Apple will look only at software problems inside Apple's own applications and the problem does not interfere with the functioning of touch intensive apps such as Apple Maps for instance. It happens only in drawing apps.
I have followed all the steps indicated in the Support Article about touchscreen troubleshooting
I wonder if there is a way to recalibrate the screen and I am looking for the expert opinion of the members of this community. Should I pay to get a refurb unit? Do you see any other way to fix this?

There have been some known issues with iOS 6 and exsisting routers such as netgear, might want to check your router for a firmware update. Also some things you can try on the iPad is to reset network settings, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, once your iPad reboots attempt to connect again and see if the issues still persist, also i would recommend powering off your modem and router for 30 seconds or so and powering them back on. No content or information will actually be lost during these steps. let me know how it works out for you.

  • I Need Color Calibration Help

I noticed after i got my new imac intel core 2 duo the way the calibration is set makes the color look much better, does anyone know what the calibration settings are for the imac profile or know of a place i can download the profile
ps the new imacs fly i love it its beutifal

If you are trying to use your iMac profile with your MacBook, that is probably a bad idea. The whole point of a monitor profile is to record the characteristics of specific hardware. Your iMac profile describes the behavior of your iMac LCD. It doesn't describe the behavior of your MacBook LCD. If you were to use the same profile or setting on your MacBook, chances are it wouldn't represent colors properly because it would be making compensations based on an LCD type that is not in the MacBook.
Profiles are made to calibrate a monitor to a known standard. What's probably going on is that the iMac monitor is simply a better monitor, and simply hits the standard profile target more accurately and with more colors than the MacBook LCD can. I have a hardware monitor calibrator and have seen this between my PowerBook and desktop monitors. Using the calibrator on both monitors, the PowerBook LCD has never been able to match the color range of the desktop monitor.
Laptop monitors have to operate under weight, size, and power constraints that desktop monitors aren't limited by, so they can't perform as well. On top of that, you bought an inexpensive laptop, so the LCD isn't top-of-the-line. The iMac, on the other hand, may be using a panel similar to the Cinema Displays. I think what you're seeing is the lower performance of the laptop panel itself.
The best you are going to be able to do is use hardware calibrator on your MacBook LCD to generate a profile specifically for it. You will probably be able to generate a better profile than the one that came in the box, but it probably will still fall short of the color quality of the iMac screen.

  • Calibration help Tungsten E2

When i calibrate my palm, and says its done, i open up my notepad. i try to draw something in it. i tap, lets say in the middle, then i move the stylus to the top right corner of the screen but now, the stylus and the line are not aligned. i tried to calibrate it again but it still the same. and done a hard reset but nothing is still happening. please help
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Sounds like the digitizer is wearing out.  If the drift is too much to bear, repairs can be found at several websites including usedpdaparts.com and directfix.com.
Did you test the screen immediately after doing the Hard Reset, or did you HotSync all the data back to it and then test it?

  • EEE 701 - Help getting eGalax touchscreen to work?

I just installed a touchscreen from dealextreme on my wife's old eee 701 and I'm hoping someone else around here has done so and has some insight as to drivers for this thing?

ok gborzi, thanks for all your help earlier...I got it!
for anyone else interested, here's how I did it.
    1) install xf86-input-evtouch from AUR
    2) install ttf-freefont and xdialog
    3) blacklist the usbtouchscreen module
    4) run the touchscreen calibration script
    5) open the /etc/evtouch/config file and delete everything after the 4th line  (MAXY="xxxx")
    6) open /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/50-eGalax.fdi and add the following 2 lines to the end:
        <merge key="input.x11_options.swapy" type="string">true</merge>
        <merge key="input.x11_options.rotate" type="string">CCW</merge>
I hope this helps anyone else trying to install a eGalax touchscreen.
here is my full eGalax.fdi file if anyone is interested:  http://pastebin.com/f591374d8
here is my full evtouch config: http://pastebin.com/f17b8136e
These should work on all eGalax touchscreens installed on an eee701 since the hardware is the same.
here is a screenshot of my daughter's new computer.  Thanks!

  • Touch screen calibration utility

I've working on a "proof of concept" project that requires the installation of Windows 7 Pro on a Panasonic CF-30CWQAZBM. The O/S installs fine and everything seems to work so far EXCEPT that there is no touch screen calibration utility -
    and I need that utility.
The touch screen works - I just can't calibrate it. Does anyone know where I can find an appropriate touchscreen calibration utility? It's a Fujitsu touch screen and I've checked at the Fujitsu site, but they don't seem to have a calibration utility available
for download. Panasonic doesn't support Win7 on the "MK1" version of the CF-30, so there's no help there.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

The drivers and utility software would be from the manufacturer of the touchscreen and written specifically for that touchscreen.
If Panasonic has a Vista package for your laptop you can try that, but there is nothing generic in Windows that would solve your problem.
