T3 Oracle´s proprietary tunneling protocol and Cisco ACE
Does anybody know if it is possible to load balance the T3 Oracle´s proprietary tunneling protocol supported by Oracle Weblogic with Cisco ACE?

I don't know much about T3 protocol, in short you can load balance almost anything really, the issue becomes to how granular and if you can do any intelligent inspection besides source and dest ip and if there are multiple different connections on different ports. These last points sort of decide whether it's worth it.
- If you find the specifics about the connection ( port, type of protocol and type of connection ( long-lived or short lived) you should be able to setup a basic rule to test. A sniffer trace will give you the most information if oracle website does not explain T3 in detail.
- From a quick search there also looks to be a method to encapsulate T3 inside a http packet on weblogic servers, if this were the case then you could do some deep packet inspection with regex etc to get more granular load balancing

Hi, I'm trying to create Site-to-Site VPN between Cisco ASA 5505 and Cisco Router 3945.

I don't hve any NAT-exemptions in Cisco IOS Router. Transform-set I will change soon, but I've tried with tunnel mode and it didn't work.
Maybe NAT-exemptions is the issue. Can you advice me which exemptions should be in Cisco IOS Router?

Site to Site VPN between ASA 5505 and Cisco 800 router
Evening all,
Hoping that someboy can see the error of my ways. It seems very like the problem that i read here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2016300
We have a cisco 800 in a remote site which we wanted to use for a site to site vpn. Went through the steps on the ASA 5505 and the 800 and have got to the stage were the tunnel is up and connected. Getting traffic through it is another matter. Remote network is 172.20.224.0/20 and the server network behind the ASA is 192.168.168.0/24. The tunnel does intiate when you send traffic from 172 ......to 192....... Both the ASA and 800 report the tunnel is up. If i look at the stats using ccp on the 800 i can see the encapsulation packets graph shooting up but nothing cominbg back. I did packet captures on the 5505 and could not see anything coming from the tunnel so i dont belive its making it to the ASA. Here is the config from the 800:

Connectivity Issue between ASA 5520 firewall and Cisco Call Manager
Recently i have installed ASA 5520 firewall, Below is the detail for my network
ASA 5520 inside ip: 10.12.10.2/24
Cisco Switch 3560 IP: 10.12.10.1/24 for Data and 10.12.110.2/24 for Voice
Cisco Call Manager 3825 IP: 10.12.110.2/24
The users and the IP phone are getting IP from the DHCP server which configured on cisco 3560 Switch.
the Default Gateway for Data user is 10.12.10.2/24 and
for the voice users is 10.12.110.2/24
now the problem is that the users is not able to ping 10.12.110.2 call manager. please if somebody can help in this regard. i will appreciate the prompt response against this issues.Actually i don't wana to insert new subnet and complicate the nework. i need a simple way to solve the problem. below is the details for the asa 5520 config.

Can i use same address pool for different remote access VPN tunnel groups and policy

i want to create a different remote access VPN profile in ASA. ihave one RA vpn already configured for some purpose.
can i use the same ip address pool used for the existing one for the new tunnel-group (to avoid add rotuing on internal devices for new pool) and its a temporary requirement)

Split Tunnel VPN and routing public ip traffic
Hi Everyone,
I have my split tunnel vpn working well but I need to make an adjustment. We have a few systems in the "cloud" and we only allow access from our corporate WAN IP to those servers. I need to be able to access those servers via VPN connection to the office. I added that public IP subnet to my interesting traffic and the vpn client is sending the traffic across the VPN as expected. The issue is that it somehow drops out inside the firewall it seems. Almost like it doesn't know how to route that request back out to the internet using it's own default gateway. Any thoughts as to what I may be missing, here is some of the relevant code

Let's do it this way, this should fix the problem. Put the NAT command the way it was as follows:
nat (Outside) 1 10.1.10.0 255.255.255.0
Now we add a NAT0 for the Outside interface. You can reuse the ACL we made if you want or make a new one, your call since you have to administrate it.

Now, this should properly NAT the traffic going to the Internet while excluding the traffic destined for your 10.0.0.0/8 subnet using the Nat 0.

At the moment i have a Oracle database running and i'm specifically interested in the efficiency spatial extension for webmaps and GIS.
I've been testing the database with large shape files (400mb - 1gigabyte) loaded them into the database with shp2sdo->sql*loader.
Using Benchmark factory i've test the speed of transactions an these drop relatively quickly. I've started with a simple query:
SELECT id FROM map WHERE id = 3 when I increase the amount of id's to 3-10000 the performance decreases drastically.
so :

The explain plan shows the second query , both query's use the index.

The statistics does not show very weird stuff, but maybe i'm wrong. Nothing changed in the explain plan except for the range scan instead of a unique scan.
The query returns lots of results and this is I think the reason why my measured time of the query is large. The time it takes returning large amount of rows increases quickly for more rows.
. Can this be solved? The table has been analyzed before starting the query.
The parameters of the database are not really changed from standard, I increased the amount of memory used by Oracle 11g to 1+ gigabyte.
and let the database itself decide how it uses this memory.

So I indexed and analyzed the data what did i forget? I can speed it up with soft parsing, but the problem remains . Hopefully this enough information for some analysis, does anyone experienced the same problems ? I tested with SQLdeveloper the speed and is shows the same speed as Benchmark factory. What could be wrong with the parameters?

The database counted 18,345,075 rows per second without binded variables , which is ten times slower as your result. This can be possible because of hardware but my question is specifically about the number of rows returned thus large amount of results. The idea was not to compare the speed of "+select count(*)+" statements - but to illustrate that even when dealing with a huge number of rows, one can decrease the amount of I/O that needs to be performed to deal with that number of rows.
Select id from map where id <= 1
4000 rows per second are selected, Rows/sec is a meaningless measurement - due to physical I/O (PIO) versus logical I/O (LIO). You can select a 100 rows and these require PIO. Resulting in an elapsed time of 1 sec. You can select a 1000 rows that require only LIO. With an an elapsed time of 0.5 sec.
Is the 2nd method better or faster? No. It simply needed less time to be spend on I/O as the data blocks were in the buffer cache (memory) and did not require very slow and expensive disk access.
Another database i testes returns 6 times 25425 rows back per second for the same query (100 ids). What could be a parameter that limits the output speed of multiple rows in a query?.Every single row that needs to be read/processed by a SQL statement has a cost associated with it. This cost is not consistent! It differs depending on how that row can reached - what I/O paths are available to find that rows? Does the full table need to be scanned? Does an index need to be scanned? Is there a unique index that can be used? Is the table partitioned and can partitioning pruning be applied and local partition indexes used? Are there are user functions that need to be applied to the row's data? Etc. Etc.
All these together determine how fast the client gets a row from the cursor executing that SQL.
The more rows you want to process, the bigger the increase in the cost/expense - specifically more I/O. As I/O is the biggest expense (slowest ito elapsed time).
So you want to do as little I/O as possible and read as little data as possible. For example, instead of a full table scan, a fast full index scan. For example, instead of reading the complete contents of a 10GB table, reading the complete contents of a 12MB index for that table.
I suggest that you read the Oracle Performance Guide to familiarise yourself with basic performance concepts. Use http://tahiti.oracle.com for finding the the guide for your applicable Oracle version. -

Anyconnect tunnel-group and group-policy from LDAP
Recently we've changed from LOCAL to LDAP authentication and added additional group-policies for different users to increase security.
To prevent users from selecting an incorrect group-policy, the LDAP server provides a IETF-Radius-Class value which matches the different group-policy names.
It is my understanding that the authentication method is provided by the tunnel-group.

This all works, but for _one_ of the group policies i'd like to enable (external) two factor authentication. Two enable two factor auth a 'secondary-authentication-server-group' needs to be set in the tunnel-group.
Creating a tunnel-group which maches the name of the group-policy doesn't seem to have any effect. When listing the connected users via "show vpn-sessiondb anyconnect", it always states the correct Group Policy but also always DefaultWEBVPNGroup.
When enabling the listing of tunnel-groups for webvpn, thus allowing users to select their own tunnel-group, the two factor auth does work.
To summarize, is it possible to let LDAP decide which tunnel-group is used or is there another way to have different group policies without users being able to choose ?Fabian,
Your connection lands on a tunnel group and picks a group policy.
A typical way to overcome the problem you're indicating is by using group-url.
a URL is bound to a specific tunnel-group and allows you to land directly on the one you desire.

NAC-L2-802.1x (EAP-FAST) and Cisco Secure Services Client 5.0 in wired net

Does anybody have any success with Cisco SSC and EAP-FAST in the wired network?
I'm going to use NAC, so I'm trying to set up EAP-FAST. I see the pop-up window on the client to enter user credentials and I see a lot of "debug radius" messages on my 3750 12.2(44)SE switch:
Access-Requests with User-Name="anonymous"
Access-Challenges (I see certificate is sent from ACS)
Access-Reject
CS ACS Failed Attempts Report shows "ACS user unknown" failure for "anonymous".
So far as I understood, EAP-FAST is a tunneled method and it uses "anonymous" to protect user's identity during phase 0 / phase 1 transactions. The actual username is sent in phase 2 transaction.
The following is excerpt from the CS ACS documentation:
"EAP-FAST can protect the username in all EAP-FAST transactions. ACS does not perform user authentication based on a username that is presented in phase one; however, whether the username is protected during phase one depends on the end-user client. If the end-user client does not send the real username in phase one, the username is protected. The Cisco Aironet EAP-FAST client protects the username in phase one by sending FAST_MAC address in place of the username. After phase one of EAP-FAST, all data is encrypted, including username information that is usually sent in clear text."
SSC 5.0 is indeed set up with "Unprotected Identity Pattern"=anonymous and "Protected Identity Pattern"=[username] using sscManagementUtility.exe
So, the question is: Why is ACS 4.1 trying to authenticate username "anonymous" if it knows that the user is fake? Does anybody have working configuaration for EAP-FAST in a wired network?

It works now, but I constantly get the following message in the Windows event log: "The Cisco Secure Services Client service hung on starting". This is Windows 2000 Advanced Server system with SP4. SSC was set up with no domain authentication, no machine authentication, single sign-on. After some time the SSC service starts, but at that time my PC is already put into the guest VLAN by the switch (the tx-period is 10 seconds):

The best thing to setup a mini voip network would be to use the ITS solution where your IP phones will register directly with the 2611 router. The 2611 would act as a mini call manager where these ip phones talk to the router through skinny protocol and your outgoing calls can still go out through your FXO or digital port to the PSTN.

Thanks.I actually was wrong. I am running 2960s. We considered 4948s but opt for the 2900 series. Should be similar if not identical as far as lacp is concerned.
lacp is a option for ether channels. As well as pagp. Portchannels are by default lacp.
Oracle VM can use LACP and is not compatible with pagp. At least not that I know of.
Below is an example of the traffic on a working lacp link.

My portchannel groups include only layer 2 ports. They can contain either layer 2 or 3 ports. I'm just using layer 2 ports.
Not using vlan tagging. The native vlan tagging command assumes untagged traffic received is for "native vlan".
Oracle VM does have the ability to do vlan tagging but I do not use it and its a little tricky to setup on the default bond0. Been a little while since I considered it. Hope this makes sense. -
