Hello,
the official statement is shown here as pixel policy.
However there are some software tools, some of them seem to work. Please take a look here.

I don't know about steve---but I've owned 8 iPhones (5 for me and 3 for my wife) starting with the 3G and ending with my current iPhone 5 and none of them had a display problem of any kind.
Several of my family members also have iPhones--about 10 more, I'd guess, and none of them have a stuck pixel, either.
If I had received a display with a stuck pixel I would have definitely returned it immediately.

  • Stuck pixels in the thousands

Sorry to harp on stuck pixels I know there are alot of posts on this subject. However in most cases people are talking about 1 or 2 pixels, in my unfortunate situation I have hundreds if not thousands. A 5cm x 2 cm portion of my 14 inch screen is covered in green "stuck pixels". One line is permantly stuck on green however the remaining stuck pixels appear to change colours (pink or green) depending on what is on the screen.
Strangely I used Pixel Check (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11661) and only the top green line showed up as being "stuck on green" the rest of the stuck pixels didn't show up. However after the test they reappear.
I have tried using "pixel fix" software flashing for hours on end trying to "unstick" the pixels and also I have given them a good rub but all has failed.
I bought the ibook over 18 months ago so it's no longer under warranty.
I am now contemplating getting the screen replaced, however I just wanted to know if anyone out there had any ideas on my situation. Is it really a bad case of the stuck pixel anomaly or something else?
    thanks

    Hello
I had 6 dead pixels on my macbook pro screen. I was quite annoyed about it.
After a huge research I did find solution. At least you can try it is for free
It is a small Jawa applet which flickers and can unstuck pixels.
I had 6 dead pixels. After using this flickering applet for 10 minutes 4 of the pixels disappeared They were in the center of the screen.
The last two are placed on the top of the screen. On the top dock where the blue apple is. Fortunately there is no way I know about how to hide this dock. Therefor stuck pixels remain. (if you know how to get this flickering applet over entire screen please let me know, the videos on the website did not work for me)
Anyway check this website and good luck, Hope it helps.

  • Will green line down the center of screen get worse?

Thin vertical green line just appeared down the center of my macbook pro. of course my apple care protection plan just expired two months ago.
Does anyone know the cause of this type of line? And if i do nothing will it get worse?

This is a problem with the screen. Eventually more lines will appear but that is because of those lines failing or one pixel on the line being stuck. It is like not something you caused and can only be fixed by replacement of the screen. You may perhaps try calling apple and seeing what they can do about it for you since applecare was so recent.

I am making a android platform game in flash actionscript 3. It is a side scrolling runner game.
So what I want is to make my character be on the center of the screen all the time. When it runs the character will always be at the center of the stage/screen. When I press the run button my character runs to the right then the background scrolls to the left.
Please help guys, I am still new in this actionscript 3 programming. I can't find any tutorials in the net on actionscript 3 T_T.

OMG so giving the character some actionscript motion is wrong??
Please help me sir i am very new to actionscript programming sir, I can't figure it out
Do you mind to see my codes. I have two buttons for my character, Jump button and Move button that moves only ti the right..
    var dy:Number = 0;
    var gravity:Number = 1;
    var canjump:Boolean = false;

  • Pink vertical line in the center of screen on Qosmio G series

Appears to be LCD hardware problem as line is not there if external monitor used. This is the second LCD for this unit that is 2.5 years old, and in which the heat sink problem inherent in the original design of this PC has supposedly been fixed. Speakers are now starting to produce feedback if volume turned to half or more, probably due to earlier heat sink problem. In any event, Toshiba's position is they've fixed it twice for "free", and my position is a 2.5-year old $3,800 laptop should not have had to be fixed at all, yet.
My question is this (and I couldn't get a straight answer from the Toshiba customer support person I just talked with): How do I order a new LCD for a Qosmio G15-R from Toshiba, and how much is it going to cost? I don't want to know about repair centers, since there aren't any within a hundred miles of me, and I am not interested in sending my laptop to another techie either in this or any other state. I just want the part sent to me, as i am fully qualified to install it even though I am no longer in the business. Will somebody, preferably someone who speaks recognizable English, or German, or Spanish, or even French, provide me with a simple answer to my two simple questions. Thank you.

    Hi there,
I am sorry that you had so bad experience with your machine, I had many probs with my tecra S4 too, but they fixed it without problems. I think it has something with the repair center to do, where you´re giving your machine for repair.
My machine was in 3 (!!) service centers and only the last two were able to fix my problem. (They were two separate probs, one of them was my fault -> chianti on my keyboard :( )
So, if you need a new panel then you must not place your order to toshiba. You can also order a new or used panel in some spare parts onlineshops.
I don´t know if you already looked, it seems you didn´t, otherwise you won´t write here.
It would be interesting which machine you exactly have, maybe I can help you finding a new panel for an accurate price ;)
Don´t worry mate, there are solutions for everything.
    Nice weekend

  • Aperture 3 screen view. I have the adjustments, etc. on the left side and the picture on the far right side. The middle of screen is black. I need to get the picture back in the center of screen

I have the adjustments, etc. on the left side of the screen. The picture is on the far right side of the screen. The middle of the screen is all black. How do I get the picture back in the middle of the acreen.  I believe I must have hit a button that moved the picture to the far right.

    On the Mac......
Open up Macintosh HD > Applicatons > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the small window that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window
Change the setting for Router Mode from the current DHCP and NAT to read Off (Bridge Mode), then click Update at the lower right of the window, and wait a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a green light.
    Then.....very important
Power off the Time Capsule and your Arris modem/router for a few minutes
Start up the Arris first, and let it run a few minutes by itself
Start up the Time Capsule next the same way
Your network will now be correct, and your printing capabilities will improve.
If Time Machine backups do not occur now, post back and we will tackle that next.

  • 3 oval "halos" in the center of screen

Not the best pictures in the world (iphone), but I think you can make them out. The two on the sides are vertical, and the top one is horizontal - shapes are akin to a track (ie track and field). Very light, white halo. Anyone ever seen something like this before? To the Genius [have AppleCare] I should go? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, BSteely. I just mentioned the logo as a way of describing the location of the "blemish" — it's definitely a physical defect and it just appeared in the last week or two. A screen shot of the area doesn't capture it. I've taken a few pictures which look very much like Andy's. They almost look like a ring stain left by the bottom of a cup on a table.
I haven't had anything heavy resting on it, dropped it, or exposed it to extremes of temperature. I work from home, so it sits on my desk all day, pretty much every day.
Here's some photos of my MBP's screen (You can see the half-circle blemish in the middle of the screen):

  • X220 with backlight leak and stuck pixel

I just ordered x220 from lenovo. I recived the box yesterday and found my new thinkpad had many backlight leak and 1 stuck pixel at the center. I am very disappoint with it. Can I return it, change to new one or send to lenovo sevice center in thailand to change my IPS display.
I ordered it on 5/26/11. My friend in USA passed it to me on 6/6/11 then I recieved package in Thailand on 6/10/11.
    This is my backlight leak.

Unfortunately I can not take stuck pixel image.
I hope lenovo will help me fix this problem.
    Thank you.

    welcome to the forum!
the current policy is that a display must have three or more dead or stuck pixels to be considered defective.   one is simply not enough.
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-69856
regarding the backlight bleed, it looks normal to me for an LED notebook panel.   i could create a condition where even $5000 IPS graphics displays show some sort of backlight bleed on a black background with brightness at full power.   no display is perfect in this regard.   my X220 IPS panel has a slight amount of bleed under the right conditions but is only noticable 1% of the time.
if this is unsatisfactory, you may try contacting lenovo support in thailand at 1-800-060-066 or 66 2273 4088 between 8AM and 5PM monday-friday.   however, please note that they will likely refer to the same pixel policy above.   whether or not they will make an acception due to the location of the stuck pixel is up to them.
also, i've removed your second account "eldonler" as we don't allow members to have more than one login per our community participation rules.   thanks for understanding.

  • How to fix a stuck pixel on IPad 4

I just recently got my IPad 4 gen and have only had it for a couple days. My first impressions are this thing is amazing!!!! But after a couple days I've noticed a stuck pixel in the center of my screen... Is there a way to fix this or do I have to drive across town to the apple store to see if they can help? Hopefully I can do this alone cause I just bought this and I'm a bit low on cash now...

"I'm a bit low on cash now"
Your product is still under warranty, so the repair won't cost you anything.

  • Original iPhone. 1 green pixel. Dead center.

Certain not to find too much sympathy around here, if any.
Purchased the iPhone in July 2007. Apple had to replace it as the screen went dead (touch areas) in October 2008. So roughly 16 months of life out of that one.
As of yesterday, there is green pixel in the center of the screen. Did a search for this is issue and apparently it is a stuck pixel and this site (http://www.ebaspace.com/iphone-app/#_home) is the only option. Ran their fix overnight which is flashing the screen in a frantic rotation. The "stuck" pixel is still there (it is a green pixel).
So, 16 months later, it appears that this iPhone is having an issue, how bad it progresses remains to be seen. Can't say I am pleased as the phone cost me over $625 with tax, so annualized that $234.48 per year to have the pleasure of owning this phone. That is without the phone plan. Just the hardware.
Going to keep trying and possibly restore the phone to see if I can shake this green pixel and if anyone here has any other advice, appreciate your input.
My final attempt will be to go to the genius bar and see, what, if anything, can be done (ie. buy another original iPhone, if they even carry any in stock, which I highly doubt.).
I'm biting my lip on this as I have come to expect quality from Apple, which as of late with their updates for our OS, etc. has been somewhat suspect.
Apple apologists, please do not use this thread for any other reason but to advise.
    Thank you all in advance.

Came across an app in the itunes store that goes for .99 to do the same thing that the link in my original post does.
Read through the reviews of this app and the solution was in review section.
Apply pressure. So I did. Green pixel is gone. Gone.
In this day and age of modern technology, sometimes it takes the old school way of banging the side of the TV to get it to work.
To those who come across this thread seeking an answer. Try the free website in my original post. If that doesn't do it, take your thumb, place it on that green or red or blue pixel and apply pressure. Fixed.
