T400, Backslash appearing as #, all the regional settings are correct though

I have a T400 laptop, its regional settings are set for english (ireland) and i have also tried the Irish(ireland) settings, but for what ever reason, the Backslash, which is located just above the "enter" key, when pressed brings back the hash# symbol, when pressing shift, it brings back the ~ , and i cannot find the backslash, unless i use charmap.
any ideas on how to sort this issue??

just did some more diggin there, under the "Text services and input languages" i have set the "Default input language" as "English(United States)-United States-International.
this has sorted the problem

I just had the same problem updating my iPhone 4. I found out by turning my Kaspersky virus protection OFF, then everything worked out, and I was able to update my phone.
Virus protection programs can cause alot of problems sometime, so it's worth a try if you haven't already tried. -
Passwords are not being saved at all ... settings are correct
My setting are correct, it wont even ask me to save passwords. It works fine on my laptop. but this is my desktop. I would like this feature to work and its not .... again, my settings are correct .... please help or i will have to switch ...
Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

When I double click on the Mozilla Firefox icon to open it up an error message comes up and says "The Proxy Server is refusing connections" Check the proxy settings to make sure they are correct. Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.

1) go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> click "Settings..." button infront of Connection -> select option1 -> Click OK -> OK

Try sending yourself an email and see if that come thru. You may just have to remove the account and re add it back.

I downloaded CD's to my itunes library. I have itunes match. All my itunes purchased music is on my ipad and iphone cloud. For some reason, while the cloud appears in my library, the CD's that I downloaded (popular ones that itunes recognize) are not showing up on my ipad2 and my iphone4s. When I purchase songs from itunes directly they show up on all i devices (with the cloud icon). In my itunes library all the new downloads from CD's have the icloud icon. However, none of these downloads are showing up on my ipad and iphone as stated above. All my settings are correct. I am sure I am missing something, but not sure what....if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. thanks.

Settings bage appears on all the thumnails (DNGs) in Bridge CS5
Hi I would be very grateful if someone could help me.
When you view Thumnails in Bridge, only the images that you applied some Camera Raw setting, will show a little icon (Settings bage) in the top right hand side corner of the thumnails. But all of a sudden all my raw images (DNG) show this bage regardless whether or not Camera Raw settings were applied. Does any one know why and how to get rid of them?
The only thing I did a couple of days ago was to update via Help --> Updates in Bridge.

I always convert NEFs to DNGs when downloading and in the Camera Raw Preferences I chose "Ignore sidecar 'xmp' files" option. And I don't use Lightroom.
I don't think I have any xmp files. I double checked to see if there are any xmp files in the folders with the "show all the hidden files" option in the Control Pannel and there aren't any. Only hidden files are Bridge cashe files. I thought all my image settings are embedded into the DNGs. I never had this problem before until a couple of days ago.
By the way why do you suggest not to work with DNGs? I thought that DNGs are a future proof way of keeping RAW files. I had a bad experience with NEFs. Some of my early NEF files which were edited with Nikon Programme cannot be opened in Capture NX. Nikon tech support could not help me with this problem.
Curt Y, your last comment 'would assume that since it contains edits to image the badge is supplied', can you explain again? I don't understand.

I have signed to up to iCloud and am pretty sure that all of my settings are turned on appropriately. However I get syncing from iCloud to my iMac and to my iPhone, but I am unable to get my iPhone to sync with the iCloud and most obviously calendar events, so that if adding an event on my iPone it never appears on my other hardware? Can anyone help me sort this out?
Re: check that the appointments in my phone are going into iCloud calendars....exactly how do I do this? I fear this is a really stupid question!
My iCloud account is set up with my Apple ID as one email account (for example [email protected]) which is the email account I use to sign up for internet sites like Amazon, Apple,etc, so that I can differentiate vendors/mass emails. But my default calendar on my iPhone is in a different email name (ie [email protected]) which I use for most communications to friends, relatives, etc. and it is this account that holds most of my appointments. To further complicate things I have other email accounts that I use for business/professional and community work. If I want all my calendars to show on my iPhone AND sync to my iCloud, do I set this at the phone level or the iCloud level? or both?
Let me clarify....It looks like if I go into appointments that I previously set up through my personal account (ie above [email protected]) and edit the entry on my iPhone, selecting the iCloud "home" calendar within the entry, it will then sync to my iCloud account, no problem....do I have to do this to EVERY entry I have? or is there a way to name my personal account as one to sync to iCloud? -
Since i got my iPhone 4S, Last year. it's the 8gb experminetal version. My phone's volume always appears. All the time. And since i got the iOS 8 yesterday. It got even worse, it won't get out anymore. I'm super mad. I don't know what's going on. Is it my case? But, i don't use a case anymore. It doesn't even lessen. And when i take pictures for like 10 seconds, i get like 50 photos. Without even clicking the button. This is a real problem for me Apple, and i need you to do something about it. I need an answer real soon.
I got Troubles too with iphone 4s with the new iOS 8, its unstable, apple said its for that model to but its not totally true, well few troubles disappear if you do this:
First you need to Sync your iphone like regular you do it, but check you could made a Saffety and restore back up manually in your computer.
then when this it's already done, disconnect your iphone, then restore your iphone as factory settings, beware! don't do this if you don't have your Saffety copy first!
when you restore your iphone as factory settings iTunes will ask you if this is a new phone or a previous phone, well, select previous iphone and select the back up copy you made, and let iTunes restore all, that fix a few issues in my phone, but the real problem its iOS 8 its not good for 4s. -

Hi,
Change the print settings manually by clicking the lowest drop-down within the print dialog (e.g. the application name, Copies & Pages within MSOffice.
Select Type/Quality and set the print quality as Normal.
You may seve the settings as a Preset from the Presets drop-down menu.

Try hard reset.
Hold down the sleep and home button until the screen goes black. Turn the phone back on.
If that doesn't work, back up the iphone using iTunes.
Re-install the iOS by putting the iPhone into DFU (recovery mode.)
To do this,
Make sure the phone is pluged in to you computer with iTunes open.
Hold the Sleep and home button until the screen goes black, immediately release the sleep button but continue to hold the home button.
After a few seconds your iTunes should recognize your phone in DFU mode.
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
At this point you should click on "Restore iPhone"
After your phone is done restoring, don't start as new iPhone. Restore from back up.
If that doesn't work, you're SOL.
Take it to Apple. Tell them they are stupid. -
Trying to publsh changes to my website. I get a message "There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider." I did, and all my settings are correct, but still cannot publish.
Any other ideas?Most likely you are suffering from a bug in iWeb that doesn't let you publish websites if an image you have added to your site begins with space. You can either search for that image and remove it.

If you don't know, give us a list of the extensions that you ''do'' have installed so that we don't have to wildly guess or so we can do an '''''educated guess''''' as to which one isn't working.
