T400: Bluetooth in Win7 not working

Hello people
I've installed Windows 7 Professional on my T400.
Drivers for Bluetooth is installed.
I've checked with the DPInst.exe program in the brcmWin7 folder ind the Bluetooth Drivers default extract-folder - the tool says that 2 drivers are succefully installed:
- Broadcom HIDClass (06/11/2009 6.2.0.9500)
- Broadcom Bluetooth (06/15/2009 6.2.0.9000)
However, i don't know how to turn on Bluetooth !!
The FN+F5 program is not installed - what program is that anyway ??
how do i Turn-ON the Bluetooth adapter in Win7 ??
thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

okay... i solved it...
I installed some of the programs in the Extract folder. Running the default Setup program didn't work, because the installer couldn't find a Bluetooth device..
after installing the 2 programs, i also installed the Lenovo Hotkey program
after restarting, i was able to use FN+F5 to enable the Bluetooth device !

Do you still have your windows7 install files ?
    ( installation image is usually in LENOVO_PART OKRBackup/Factory ) ? I lost them :\
if yes I fear you have to enable it in win7 and then use it in win8

  • Desktop Bluetooth Windows 7 Not working

I have a BB 9000 that I have been trying to connect with desktop manager 6.0 by Bluetooth in Windows 7. Windows 7 pairs with the 9000 with no issue, but then the DT does not find the device. I have also removed the pairing with win 7 and had DT locate the 9000 on its own, it finds it but when I go to connect it asks me for a pairing code, which I do not have, so I go back to win 7 and pair, as soon as I do that the DT loses the 9000 as a connection option.
I have read many postings about the broadcom driver being a problem, so I installed it and then nothing worked, so I had to do a system restore.
I can not use my usb since it is not working on the device, the only option I have is the bluetooth, can anyone help?

  • Bluetooth Mouse does not work on dv6-4002tu

Hi, I have tried two Bluetooth mice (MS 5000--brand new--and Logitech V470) and neither work on my laptop.
I see that the Bluetooth is enabled in my BIOS.
    I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
I have turned the mouse on and put it into discovery mode.
I have used Add Device from the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, it found it and added it with the correct name.
The mouse appears disabled in Devices and Printers. Under Properties, most of the General info is "Unavailable," Hardware tab info is blank, Services tab shows nothing, but Bluetooth tab shows unique identifier.
I have gone to the driver page using the model number supplied via HP Support Assistant and downloaded the Ralink/Motorola Bluetooth Adapter Driver (SP52533), but the BluetoothSetup.exe fails with the message, "Bluetooth hardware must be switched on to run this package." I am not sure how it discovered the mouse without it being "switched on."
The driver in Device Manager is Generic Bluetooth Adapter by Microsoft, version 6.1.7601.17514, dated 2006 06 21. The downloaded driver only contained an exe file, so no dll's that I could have pointed the Update command to.
I went to the Setting up Bluetooth Connections with Windows 7, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01948661&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us#DeviceOn, but it doesn't say which devices this applies to until you go to the bother to download it and start it up, then find out it is for Mini computers.
There are help pages which mention the HP Wireless Assistant, but it does not tell you how to get it. It is not a software option in the drivers/software for my laptop, so I'm adverse to experimenting.
I have combed this forum and Googled and haven't found anything like it. I hope someone can help.

Thanks, Mumbodog, but I have already been through that page. I'll list what I got out of that page. There is much information on it, so maybe I missed something or misinterpreted it.
    From the top,
I did remove the device and added it back in through the Add Devices option in the Bluetooth menu. Same result. Device is greyed-out, but the name and ID are there.
"HP Bluetooth driver" when you download it and start the installation, the intro says it is for Mini model computers
Use Windows 7 troubleshooter: you gotta be kidding. I did, but as expected, it did nothing.
I tested the batteries last night, and they have plenty of power. They are brand new ones sent with the new product.
Using the Device Wizard in Windows 7 did something. I removed the device, and instead of using the Add Device command from the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, I used the Add Device in the Devices and Printers. It seemed to go through the exact same wizard screens, but brought back more info on the device. The tabs in the Properties are now filled with more device-specific information, but the device still does not work. Going to configure the mouse brought up a red Microsoft window, so I got excited, but when I went to configure the mouse, only the touch pad and the Logitech mouse I have at home have properties in that control panel. I now only get the Create Shortcut and Properties menu items on the device when right-clicked in the Devices page and clicking on the Properties give an error, "The properties for this item are not availble." I may try to reboot and will report back if that fixes it.
Unable to Find a Bluetooth Device: it seems to have found it because it is listed in the Devices list.
Unable to Pair with a Bluetooth Device: pairing with the default pairing key seemed to go well with the Device ending up in the Devices list. Additionally, yesterday, I tried using the code and not using the code.
Unable to communicate with a Bluetooth device: it is 10cm (4") away from the computer; I had one other device on the computer, which was my mobile and which also could be connected but not accessesed (tried to transfer a picture, and ended up having to email it to my laptop). I remove the device just now, and it now gets the same error as mentioned above, "...not available." The laptop did correctly identify my mobile and put the name of it up in the Devices list, so it does seem to discover the devices.
    I am not synching.
Resolving specific Bluetooth problems in Windows 7 and Vista: none of them seem to apply to my case.
At this point, I will reboot and try again.

  • [T400] Cisco VPN client not working over wireless adapter (but works on cabled connection)

I have a very strange problem.
I need to connect to my work via the cisco vpn client (version 5.0.00.0340).
My previous laptop (T43 , windows XP) worked well through both wired / wireless connections.  My desktop machine (vista) works via wired connection (it has no wireless connection).
On my new T400, the VPN client works via a wired connection but not via the wireless adapter.
On the wireless apapter, the vpn seems to connect OK, but when I try to access resources via the VPN there is little response.
I get this in the vpn log...
    405   08:56:57.073  04/16/09  Sev=Warning/2 IPSEC/0xE3700003
Function CniInjectSend() failed with an error code of 0xa4510009 (IPSecDrvCB:846)
I've tried disabling the firewall (in both the T400 and the router), removed access connections, and disabling tcp v6. I've rebooted everything too.
But, nothing seems to work.   I suspect the problem is on the t400 somewhere, because the old laptop used to work OK via wireless.
I've seen some google links on cisco vpn not working via  wireless but nothing seems to apply to my exact situation yet.
Anyone else had this problem or know of a fix? Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

all good now, got it working.
The Deterministic network thing was not installed on the wireless adapter for some reason.
So, I installed the latest wireless driver, reinstalled the vpn and all is good now.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard K1280C not working on playbook

I bought a bluetooth keyboard on ebay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/220982485208?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1851wt_13...
It works on my PC, laptop and iphone, ipad. But not working on my lovely playbook
it stucks at the pairing screen and tell me to enter the number on my keyboard.
I enter the number and no response than
I notice the combination of the number of playbook is "XXX XXX" (with a space between) while my PC iphone are just like"XXXXXXXX" (no space)
Hope this device will be support in the next update. I think playbook still need to improve its buletooth compatitily,

    >A USB keyboard works fine
This is very useful information in order to find out whats wrong here.
I agree with as***: its definitely an internal keyboard problem and keyboard replacement is the one and only solution.
If the notebook is covered by warranty, get in contact with Toshiba authorized service provider in your country.
The guys should be able to replace the keyboard free of charge.

PLZ i want fix it hurry as i have a lot of work
then i back to win 7 64bit and make all ubdates and install all drivers and all still not working

    Hi @abdallah2020
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having trouble with the drivers for your notebook. Where did you find them online?
The supported and HP customized drivers for your notebook are only available for windows 7. Please see the following:
HP Pavilion dv6-6176ex Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers
For any drivers you find elsewhere for windows 8, there is no guarantee that it would work. Although it is certainly possible. Most notebook manufacturers do customize the drivers for the set of hardware in a unit. You can check out the following for suggestions and the reasons some drivers are not made.
What if I Don't See My Operating System?
If you wish to try the windows 7 installation, then the drivers are at the page I included.

  • Bluetooth AND USB not working

Hi friends i'm facing 2 problems1. my bluetooth is not working properly, initially it wont show any blutooth icon when i start up, but after i restart it shows and start working, every time i need to repeat this to use bluetooth. kindly suggest me the solution.2. the usb ports (3.0 and2.0) both doesnt work properly, they only detect devices wen i go to device manager and scan for hardware devices.

I was also worried that bluetooth is not working. But eventually came to know that  this model 15R203TX has bluetooth version 4.0  which is backward compatible to other bluetooth devices of version 2.0 to 2.1 EDR. Means if your hand set or any bluetooth device is having  version 2.0 or 2.1 EDR it won't able to send any data or see this laptop model while transferring data. Moreover if you try to send data from laptop to other bluetooth device irrespective of version it is able to send data. Now it is Same with WiFi  this model is backward compatible to IEEE 802.11 a/b/g. means  you can't receive signals from this devices unless the router is having IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac. For USB not working may be its a BIOS issue. While boot up try to press F2 key. And enter the diagonistic blue page. There you can check the version of BIOS or try to reinstall the updated BIOS by downloading it from HP support. If  USB still not woking then try to go to nearest authorised HP service centre.

  • Bluetooth and sleep not working

MacBook bluetooth "not available" at the same time as sleep not working (the cd drive wakes up and puts it out of sleep after about 20s). These two faults occur together and are intermittent, though increasing in frequency. I have tried all the fixes (flashing, power reset etc) listed, but none are working, e.g. an earlier post is below. Anyone with any clues - I'm in guarantee but would rather not have people pulling the machine to pieces if I don't need to.
    Thanks

PS. to the above, just worked out that it only happens when I'm connected to mains power (not on battery) so i guess it's some hardware glitch...

Is there already a solution to this problem?

I am also having the same problem, although I'm on a PowerBook G4 12" 1.5Ghz.
I have an Apple Wireless keyboard and a Logitech BT mouse. The PowerBook is set up not to wake the computer using any BT device.
On two occasions, the computer woke up from sleep because it somehow lost the BT keyboard and mouse connection. Upon close inspection, that shouldn't have been possible, since that option was off.
I subsequently checked the BT preference pane under System Prefs. There, I discovered the following message, "Bluetooth Device Name: Name not available."
The first time, I restarted the computer and everything came back to normal. The second time it occurred, it I decided to log off and log back in. The log in process was fine, but my icons on beside Spotlight wouldn't load, System profile froze when getting more information on my BT module, and System Preferences also froze when trying to access the BT preferences. I ended up restarting the computer, and lo and behold, it worked again.
This has happened twice in the last two months, and I can't replicate the problem. I also can't figure out if this is a hardware or software problem.
I've read posts in the forums that describe BT going missing. This is not the case for me. BT is there, but for some reason BT is there but it's "Name not available."
Plaese let me know if you figure something out.
    Cheers,

  • Z3 bluetooth amd wifi not working together

hello , the bluetooth and wifi is not working together, when streaming videos through wifi and audio is connected to the bluetooth outspeaker , wifi connection drops for 30seconds and re-connecting , Sony please fix this bug.. than this phone is good. till now.

Hi I had the same issue a Week back with my Sony Xperia Z3 compact -- Model # D5833.
An auto software update in lollipop and the Wifi and Bluetooth stopped working.
After speaking the the customer service expert (on chat) --Xperia Support center--  initially he advised me1. To start the phone in a safe mode -- (press the power button for 3-4 secs you get the option) but that didnt help.2. Next he asked me to do a repair through Sony Companion which I had installed on my laptop --- did it --reinstalled the whole software after wiping the complete software including cache--but to no avail.3. Finally when he had no solutions left.. he asked  me to show it at the authorized Sony service center as it was under warranty.
I followed his instructions as did not want to experiment with my 7 months old handset, went next day to the Sony authorized Service Centre India (Mumbai) (17th Aug'2015) they said its a software problem and needed a day to rectify. But when I called them the next day to check on my phone status, they shared its a hardware problem and have sent across to another center which will do the hardware repair and will take maximum a week.  So the week is going to end after a couple of days....I will keep you guys posted on the update. The suggestion which I would like to share is, if you are having a similar problem run and go to the authorized service centre and leave the rest to the experts, without experimenting yourself.
So once I will receive my handset in a weeks time ....I will share you the status....on the exact issue with the device.

  • Does the bluetooth headphone feature not work at this time?

I have tried 2 different bluetooth headphones. They work with iPhone and iPod, but not the PowerBook.
My PowerBook recognizes and pairs with the headphones, but won't connect. Am I missing a step?

    Hello -
I had a set of bluetooth headphones - a while back. And I was able to make them work. Though, they aren't as great as you might think. My audio quality was "okay" at best. And you can also only have one bluetooth device hooked up at a time (I prefer to have a mouse!)
You may need to go into the System Prefs and set where the audio output is going to. I do not remember if I had to this but it seems a logical step as I sometimes need to this on my PowerBook when I hookup to new speakers.
