T400 BSODs After Waking up from Hibernate - ati2dvag.dll
My brand new T400 keeps crashing upon waking up from hibernate with a blue screen of death. The blue screen mentions each time ati2dvag.dll
I upgraded the ATI Radeon driver from the Lenovo support site, to no avail.
My model number is 2764-CTO and I am running XP Pro, SP3.
Am I the only one with this issue?

D,
I had this exact same problem. After talking with many reps at the Lenovo help center in ATL, one guy finally pointed me to the intel drivers. Basically, from what I can tell, this is a problem associated with the switchable graphics. After I downloaded the most recent ATI drivers, this happened to me, but only when I was not plugged into a power source. My computer works fine after I disabled the switchable graphics, and installed the newest intel drivers. I also have a 2764-CTO with XP. Let me know if that helps, or you find another, better solution.
-D
EDIT: Also, I saw at least one other place in the forum where someone else solved this by downloading an older version of the drivers. that might solve the problem as well, although I have not attempted this yet myself.

HUGES problems with display after waking up from hibernate mode
Hello everybody,
I hope that somebody can help me soon, because in the last 15 days I'm reaaaaallly annoyed with MAC's issues.
In the last 15 days it seemd I had to reboot it a lot of times, because it freezes, it crashes, etc...
Neverthless what happened today it passes all the limits: in the last period, because of these often crashes, I turn the mac off at night, on the other hand when I go to work I simply close the display and let it hibernates.
Today when I came back after work I opened it and it was amazing:
it has a different desktop!! With different icons in the dock, diferent icons in the top-right part, and it was freezed! I had to force it to shut down, restart it...and since then, I had huge problem with display.
It shakes everything while scrolling mails, web pages or icons in the dock. If I scroll between desktops, it takes year lights more than yesterday!!
Nothing happen if I restart as many time as I want.
In my simple opinion it seems a virus issue, but..as far as I know, there is no need to install an AV on a mac, right???
I tried to record some of these probls with the QT, but when you start recording all the desktop, it seems A LITTLE better, smoothing all these shaking effects. NEverthless they are still noticeable.
I'll try to attach a video as a dropbox link, 'cause I can't attach it on the message (it is denied)
PLEASE HELP MEEEEE!!!!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ljtm53go8ywt9fs/scrolling%20prob3.movI am going to add my problem to this as I believe it fits and may add to the conversation.
I have a MacBook Pro, am using Parallels, and have an issue waking it up from sleep.
Circumstances:
I close the lid and walk away from the device in my office. When I return, (over night or an hour later) I open the lid, and if nothing happens swipe the touchpad or press a key, the power light changes from pulsating to steady. then in less than 15 seconds it goes back to pusating. The display never energizes, only remain black.
I usually try opening and closing several times, and occaisionally that will work. Other times, I hold the power key until I hear the drive halt, then turn it on. The grey screen will display, then blue, then just before it gets to the log in, the screen goes black (not energized) and the light pulsates.
I have tried the PRAM reset and Safe Mode starts with no luck.
*Now the really wierd thing.* I decieded to contact Apple support on line and pay for help (yes that is weird in an of itself for me). As I began the process it came to the part for me to enter my serial number. With the lid open, I turned the MacBook on its side to try to read the number and the screen energized and the password unlock prompt was waiting for me to enter the password.
Observations
I had read where the light sensor could be blocked by dirt or the light in the room was too dim, but I clean the screen and there is plenty of light. Dales Post is the first that I have seen Parallels and the Sudden Motion Sensor. That makes some sense to me because of what happened when I turned it on its side. I have verified that it happens regardless of using Parallels. as teh last time I did it I had closed out of all my VMs and I believe exited Parallels.
I am going to try the deleting the power preferences file and will report back. -
BSOD after waking from sleep On XP and Vista
Hello my name is Santiago. I have started getting BSODs after using sleep lately. I get BSODs after waking from sleep on windows Vista. I upgraded to that recently, and that is when the problem started. It was working fine for a few days then it just bluescreened, I have switched back to XP and see if it was with only vista. but it was not I do not know what to do any more. may any one please help me?
This is what the blue screen says
http://pwimage.org/images/l9ix40o7yfyfhjwd63i6.jpg
the model is a T60 think pad.
Message Edited by spena09916 on 11-21-2008 01:35 PMHello Santiago,
the link doesn't work anymore...
So i'm just guessing:
• did you check your memory? Might be a failure in a module.
• you should update youre drivers. Use the system update tool.
• did you try a recovery or new installation of your system? if the BSOD still occurs, there really might be a hardware failure... do you still have warranty?

Track pad freeezzzz after waking up from sleep mode
HI
i have OS X Ver 10.5.1
i have enough ram, disk space, and have the 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor.
but when my mac wakes up from sleep the track pad is just not behaving properly, i.e it keeps jumping positions and freezes until i restart. if this continues it will be very frustration to use leopard.
also i did not get the option to archive and install at the installation so i cant even down grade, this is one of those time i trusted that everything will go right and looks like the problems just begun.
please help me !
VinodHi,
I have almost the same problem with my T540p, except that there is no internet connection not only after waking up from the sleep mode, but also when starting windows and sometimes the internet connection will get suddenly lost during normal windows run.
I tried installing all kinds of drivers - latest from intel, latest from lenovo update (which is always different version from the one from intel), some older versions. Nothing helps.
Re-enabling the WiFi device like Aaziz1982 suggested, doesn't help.
Here is a more detailed description of my problem: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T540p-WiFi-Connected-no-internet/m-p/177818...
Does anyone have other suggestions?
Thank you,

My macbook runs extremely slow when logging in after waking up from sleep, locking up and I am unable to use the keyboard. Furthermore, when just using safari to watch streaming television, my computer gets really slow, and locks up, and the dock appears blank and I sit here frustrated. Anytime i wake up my computer, my keys don't respond and I've waited at most 3 minutes untill i can type in my password. Even sometimes when i type in my password and hit enter, it takes forever to open up my mac. I have barely used any storage in my macbook, since i only use it for college, and I have run clamscan wiht no viruses showing... Any ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Ethernet interface disappears after waking up from sleep
Hi guys,
I've been trying to debug a networking problem without any luck and I think it's about time I ask the forum for help.
My ethernet interface no longer works after I wake up my computer from sleep. I have no idea why.
Before sleep:
# ls /sys/class/net
lo wlp2s0 enp3s0f2
After waking up from sleep,
ls /sys/class/net
lo wlp2s0
Here are the list of services I have running.

Furthermore, plugging in the ethernet cord after the computer has started doesn't connect to the internet, even when I have the ifplugd service running. I am forced to run:
sudo ip link set enp3s0f2 up
sudo dhcpcd enp3s0f2
However, I can't run these commands after the laptop wakes up from sleep since it no longer sees the ethernet interface.
I am thoroughly confused. Please help me.It seems to be fixed after the kernel update. On an related note, I've switched from using dhcpcd to netctl. I've enabled netctl to automatically connect to the network using:
# systemctl enable [email protected]
# systemctl enable [email protected]
So when I check for the status of the ethernet profile, I get told that's it's inactive.
#netctl status ethernet-dhcp
netctl@ethernet\x2ddhcp.service - Networking for netctl profile ethernet-dhcp
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/[email protected]; static)
Active: inactive (dead)

But I turned off the wireless, so I must be connected to the ethernet, So how do I know which profile I'm connected to? -
W510 eSATA/USB2.0 combo port does not respond after waking up from sleep mode
Has anyone tried to connect external DVD/CD player or burner to the eSATA/USB combo port and experienced very slow system performance after waking up from sleep mode? It might takes minutes to launch an application program that usually takes just few seconds. My W510 can not even restart. It will just stop at the Thinkpad logo if I tried to restart after waking up from sleep.
The funny thing is if I moved the external DVD/CD player to the USB2.0 port in the back, everything went back to normal. I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that the combo port has something to do with eSATA.
ThanksIt seems that this problem is unique to my system. I am hoping that one of the Mac Guru's will have at least a pointer in the right direction.
Thanks. -

Why does my Mac screen suddenly go dark? Sometimes it stays dark for an indefinite period after waking up from sleep. I have to open and shut the monitor screen to get it to light up again.
Might try posting in the MacBook Pro laptop forum. This is the Mac Pro desktop forum.

Lose connection to external USB hard drive after waking up from sleep
My Mac lost connection to the external USB hard drive after waking up from sleep. I can still see the folders in the hard drive in Finders, but when I double clip a folder no file within the folder is displayed. I have to reconnect the hard drive with iMac to read its contents.
May I ask how this happens and is there a solution?
I'm using Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X to read from and write to NTFS format of USB external hard drive.
Thanks!... I un-ticked the "put hard disks to sleep when possible" option in the Energy Saver panel in the System Preferences, and it seems the problem is solved. will have to sleep and wake up my iMac to further verify if this is the solution ...
Alternative advices are always greatly appreciated! -
Multiple BSOD after waking from sleep.
Edit: Issue traced to a bad stick of ram. Thanks you for your time!
Recently installed Windows 8.1. No problems. Put computer to sleep a few times instead of shutting down. No problems. Today, after waking from sleep, it opens to the sign in page instead of desktop like normal. Start up an application, two seconds
later, BSOD. Restart, don't touch anything, within two minutes, BSOD. And so on. Struggle to download latest windows updates, BSOD. Updates start installing after a BSOD. Restarts at least five times while installing, which I found to be
strange. Dumps and msinfo through link. Since the updates went through, no problem (for the last ten minutes while I put this together). I thought I should share though.

Please run this test to find which driver is causing the problem.
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.

My iPad loses connection after waking away from router even in the next room over.
I know it's just my iPad, as when other people with iPads are here (or even just with my iPhone), they still have their connection and mine is lost. Or when I go places, people will have their connection pretty far away from their router and my connection is lost. I have rebooted the iPad and nothing. My iPad screen cracked previously so I took it someplace to get it fixed, so I don't know if that has anything to deal with it? Help please!?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Compaq C700 - CPU fan not running after waking up from Sleep mode
Hi guys,
Waking up from Sleep mode does not start the CPU fan.
Kernel: 2.6.32-ARCH
KDE : 4.4
Let me know what other details you need.I was having the same problem after installing mountain lion.
What i did was in Finder went to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ and deleted all the networking plists (refer screen shot). Then restarted the Mac and in Network Preferences reconnected to my WLAN.
That solved the problem. -
Slight crackle coming out of the speakers after waking up from sleep?
anyone else had this happen to them? I just hear a short, quiet crackling noise coming out of my speakers after waking up. My MBP 17 is great otherwise. Its not really even a big deal, just wondering. Thanks
I've been encountering this problem recently with my left speaker when waking my laptop from sleep. It doesn't happen all the time though - almost seems like it happens when it's hot and humid out, like today, even though my A/C is on. I've seen one or two more threads about this topic but with no real help other than "I wouldn't worry about it". Does anyone else have any ideas? It's not a life-or-death ordeal, but still, I know the speaker shouldn't make this noise.

Monitor does not correctly display after waking up from suspend
Hello,
Awesome WM. I use systemctl suspend to put my computer to sleep. It works fine, however, when I press the power button on my system unit, the computer wakes up but the image is distorted completely so I cannot see what is where... Quiting Awesome WM (win + shift + q, if I remember correctly) and logging back helps, but is not really convenient. I have tried to find a solution for the problem and, as you most likely surmised, with no success.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compositin … w_managers
